Alton McClain & Destiny come from the late 70s/early 80s era of soul, disco, boogie and rare grooves, accommodating all of these in her first two albums presented here. 'It Must Be Love' and 'Crazy Love' are timeless disco classics, the latter from the LP 'More Of You', never previously on CD alongside her classic duet with Johnny Bristol 'Hang On In There Baby'.
The album 'It Must Be Love' is exactly the same as an album 'Alton McClain & Destiny' released a few months earlier in a different sleeve.
Alton McClain was married to the late songwriting genius Skip Scarborough and currently raises money for charity through the Skip Scarborough Foundation. She is taking a break in September 2016 to perform in the UK for the very first time - Friday 30th September at London's Brooklyn Bowl within the 02 arena.

Australian vocalist extraordinaire Kylie Auldist will be no stranger to soul & funk fans, her searing soul singing having featured on her own albums 'Made Of Stone' ,'Still Life' (Tru Thoughts) also in The Bamboos, as well as Freestyle Records own Cookin' On 3 Burners.
Her unmistakable voice is currently topping the pop charts across Europe, as the Kungs remix of Cookin' On 3 Burners 'This Girl' has proven a sure fire hit with club audiences as well as pop fans. It has been playlisted on BBC Radio 1 and Capital FM, and is now a Top 10 hit in the Official UK Chart.
For her first solo album on Freestyle, Kylie, assisted by long time friends & collaborators Lance Ferguson (The Bamboos/Lanu/CO3B/Black Feeling) and Graeme Pogson (of Aussie electronic duo GL) have honed and perfected a collection of amazing new boogie, disco & electro-funk inspired tracks that evoke the feel and sound of late 70's & early 80's club classics. Think of classic acts like D Train, Sinnamon, and singers like Chaka Khan, Maxine Singelton, Sharon Redd and you will already start to understand where this new project is rooted.
Kicking off this authentically disco style 5 track, 12 inch single and download single is Waste Of Time, a shimmering, soulful and devilishly catchy mid tempo groover. Graeme Pogsons' synthesizer bass lines are so evocative of that era , they act like a musical time machine! This is perfect summer time soul.
Sensational (which has a sensational video to accompany it) hits a little harder, the beats, bass line and Kylie's vocals will drive you onto the dance-floor and stay there until the very last note and begging for more. Good Time Girl doesn't let the pressure drop for a second and also features a fantastic proto-rap contribution from King Merc - whilst Family Tree (the title track from the forthcoming album) is pure Saturday night, feel good disco aimed at the ears and dancing feet.
The last track Rewards is yet another supremely insistent and catchy song that provides a tantalising hint of the goodies to come when Family Tree finally sees release later this year...can you wait

Has there ever been a band as aptly named as The Funkees Formed after the Biafran War to raise spirits in the east, they quickly conquered the dance floors of Lagos and in 1973 headed to London, playing at Ronnie Scott's and tearing up the local scene. Now I'm A Man captures the band at the height of their London-era pomp. Africans were making soca, West Indians were playing afro-funk and discolypso blasted from boom boxes across West London. The Funkees soaked it all up and delivered back, funkier, tighter and louder. Bookended by two Santana-esque jams, 'I'm A Man' and '303', The Funkees second album delivers slow burning Afrobeat ('Mimbo'), urgent jungle bongo chants ('Salam') and straight-ahead floor-fillers (Dance With Me.) Little wonder that legendary BBC Radio 1 DJ, John Peel, recorded not one, but two sessions with them. A year later, The Funkees were no more. Jake Sollo joined Osibisa. Sonny Akpabio and Harry Mosco pursued successful solo careers. (A PMG reissue of Country Boy is coming soon.) But on Now I'm A Man they burned brightly as Nigeria's most talented, inventive and funky band.

0026 and The Phantom first teamed up on the infamous 'I'm not a Weakling' by Dynametrix in 1991, released on Kold Sweat Records. This ground breaking record had both MC's adopt a complex style of rhyming rare in the UK Hip Hop scene at the time.
This duo, alongside producer and MC, Ace Shazamme, continued their quest against lyrically challenged MC's with subsequent releases in 1991; 'This Ones 4 U' EP and again in 1994, with the 'Measure of Force' LP.
Twenty Five years later 0026 and The Phantom returns with producer/MC Tom Dice, with 'Make a Move on 'Em'. This 10 track gritty and often surreal LP displays their continued growth and maturity in an ever changing musical landscape. The duo remain focused in their quest with an abstract, direct and often humorous commentary on modern day dystopia. There will only be 300 of these LPS available for sale, so make a move on them.
Critics and music lovers alike were perplexed by the rhyme structures, metaphors and delivery; suggesting both a warning to other hip hop crews and a departure from the prevailing styles of the time.

Germany is no place where you can find funk 45s. Even more unlikely it is to find a funk 45 which has been produced, recorded and released in Germany in the 1970s. And we talk about proper funk, not the cheesy-catchy euro funk stuff which most people have in mind when thinking of european funk records. There are a few exceptions though, and this one is certainly one of them. Still under the radar and not being played on neither the current soul nor funk scene, Milton Bowser's The Ride could be a future hit within both scenes. No matter how other people rate it, we like it quite much and are just proud to present this historical peace of german funk.

Wah Wah 45s' summer of dub gets into full swing with this foot- friendly12-inch package from The Gene Dudley Group, remixed by a trio of our favourite producers on the planet.
First up, Russian man-of-the-moment Alexander Lay-Far re-moulds brassy tropical jam, Do The Cookie Dough Throw, for the discerning modern dance floor. Lay-Far delivers the kind of trademark beats that have helped him become one of the most sought after DJs and producers on the planet, whilst keeping the dub feel that runs throughout this release.
Then its time for the man like WrongTom to step up to the plate. No stranger to Wah Wah 45s, and a prolific recording artist for Tru Thoughts Records where he delivers reggae and dub outings with a plethora of collaborations including Deemas J and The Ragga Twins, Tom comes through here with a classy digital dub version of Gene Dudley's laid back slice of Island soul, Tiger Jaw.
Last, but certainly not least, BJ Smith (one half of the legendary Smith & Mudd) takes mid-tempo funk nugget Jackpot, featuring the vocals of Miss Anne Frankenstein, and flips it on its head! His re-work is nothing shot of an epic Balearic masterpiece - perfect for both those sunrise and sunset moments on the beach this summer!
The original versions of all of these tracks can be found on The Gene Dudley Group's sophomore LP, Zambidoose - and don't forget to look out for Gene's live band at a festival near you soon!

MOP MOP continue their journey through musically wide open spaces and places. Refining their sound even more, creating an unique and deep atmosphere based on the idea of traditional Gnawa rhythms mixed with a heavy Dub-Jazz-Funk pulse. They left the - Isle Of Magic - but the magical experience of their music and vibe gets even more exciting . . . ... as ANDREA BENINI and MOP MOP once again take a wonderful imaginary trip to a place which echoes and results in another deep musical trip. From the - Isle Of Magic to - Lunar Love - - There are other places out there - Sun Ra knew about these places outta space, MOP MOP now take a journey from a mystical bright shining star called - Adhara to Mother Earth, being aliens from a kind of similar but yet different planet which they had to leave as they have destroyed and abused their ground, now in search of a new land. Looking at our blue planet from a different point of view. - Show me this place they call Earth and let me land this ship , says ANTHONY JOSEPH in one of the key tracks - Spaceship:Earth . Starting the trip with the soothing sounds of a Hang Drum, - Alfa leads into the four movements of - Lunar Love - The Journey, The Awakening, The Experience and Close Encounters. - Adhara then sounds like the Sultans Of Swing found their Karmacoma finally, melodies of leaving and inquiring discoveries at the same time. Unquestionably, Adhara must have been a wonderful place, but now it's time to find a new life somewhere in space, all under the sign of the magical - Lunar Love in the end. Hardly anyone can elude the irresistibly rhythms of intrumental tracks like - Habibi or - Plato as parts of the journey through space and time. - Supreme , a beautiful and soulful love ballad and the dreamy - Foreign Correspondent , which is about the amalgamation of aliens and humans, the destiny for a new way of living and caring, are the soundtrack to the release in a quite peaceful setting after a long journey. - Lunar Love once again features over ten brilliant musicians, each one contributing their art homogeneously to ANDREA BENINI's musical visions. ALEX TREBO on piano, PASQUALE MIRRA on vibraphone, balafon and marimba, SALVATORE LAURIOLA on electric and double bass, DANILO MINEO playing all kinds of primary percussions like surdo, udu drums, tumbadora and the morrocan krakebs, which BENINI also uses on most of the tracks like a traditional drum set. Additional hang, ARP synthesizers, Moog, guitars and many other instruments create this unique atmosphere of the album. Poet and musician ANTHONY JOSEPH on the vocals adding his outstanding poetry as an essential ingredient, telling the story and matching perfectly with the overall vibe of the tribal Dub Jazz Funk pulse. WAYNE SNOW's sweet voice making - Supreme this beautiful love song and Ninja Tune artist ANNABEL ELLIS dreamy chant inspired by Satie and Debussy feels just right in place in - Foreign Correspondent . The whole album has been recorded in five excellent studios located in Berlin and Ravenna using vintage analog equipment for he bliss of a warm sound, which can only be achieved by using analogue tape in the end. - Lunar Love is MOP MOP's fifth studio album and it turns out to be BENINI's best work to date, deep and sometimes dark, but uplifting, very soulful and very original at the same time. Combining his afro american jazz background with a tribal offbeat approach and a wonderful story on top. Reaching out to a state of trance which feels very good once you let yourself go. Please take your seats and join MOP MOP on this journey to these - Other places out there you haven't seen and heard yet. - So take the dark away, leave me the day ANTHONY JOSEPH

In the great tradition of Count Ossie, four new grounation furies — hypnotic, thunderous, urgent, mystical — with dubwise repeta, funde and bass drums embedding the Light Of Saba veteran's gorgeous trombone classicism.
The opener is a rocking kumina rhythm, with ring-the-alarm metal percussion and exhortatory brass; Free The People swirls some apocalyptic reasoning into the foggy, thumping mix. Universe In Crisis is another emergency call, chuffing headlong down the grooves... before the beautiful, anthemic Chant takes a step back from the fire, closing with a sense of thankful, spiritual reconciliation, the expert drumming and lyrical bone-work in full effect.

Mit ihrem einzigartigen Sound haben KING bereits viele Auszeichnungen und Listenplätze gewonnen: NPR's Song of the Day and 10 Songs Public Radio Can't Stop Playing, Billboard's 10 Best R&B Songs of 2014, The Guardian's New Band of the Day and Best Albums of 2013, Metro UK's Singles of the Week, Glamour Magazine's 2013 Free Holiday Music Campaign. Jetzt haben KING endlich ihr Debütalbum aufgenommen, mit dem sie noch mehr Hörer in ihr musikalisches Reich einladen wollen.

Pete Hazell AKA Titus 12 is a shadowy Bristol-based beatsmith, a producer of experimental dubwise dance music influenced by smoked out hip hop, sound system culture, and field recordings." Hazell says all of these influences came together in these tracks "cooked up while under the influence of Melbourne's incredible beat scene." Host of Ujima 98 FM's weekly Subsession radio show, he is well known in the city as a purveyor of deep, eclectic, bass-centric music of all stripes & hues - beats without borders. We are very pleased to be releasing Titus 12's first physical release.
'Bury Dem' marries a lurching 140-ish dub-hop riddim to a buzzing analog bassline, 8-bit skanks, haunting melodica - pure propulsive nod-factor dubwise, a molasses-soaked, ganja-infused confection that sounds like Lee Perry busting out some chopped & screwed. Titus 12 shows that an 'eyes-down' tune needn't be dark or bitter.
'Everyone Should (Wake Me Up)' simply has to be skanked to to be grasped. Like the Skatalites with Todd Edwards on vocal duties, Madlib on the MPC and Zomby on bass, this one is for the 2-Tone 2-Step revival that is already in full swing on some glorious alternate Earth. If you, like us, weary of rigid genre-boundaries and want to be surprised again - trust.

Lando Chill's debut for Mello Music Group, 'For Mark, Your Son' is a life-affirming record.
It's a 12-song tribute to the father who passed away when the Chicago-born and raised
rapper was just three years old - the rare shout into the existential abyss that actually
receives answers echoing back.
It's a coming-of-age story rooted in life, death, and legacy. It reminds us how to dearly departed can leave behind an indelible light. It's the work of a brilliant 24-year-old Tuscon transplant with a wicket jump shout, who steadfastly embodies the compassion, strength, and talent of his vanished hero.
When you listen to Lando Chill, you hear traces of Gil Scott-Heron, Pharoahe Monch, and The Roots. At times, his rollicking cadences and innate gift for melody feel like a one-man equivalent of The Pharcyde's Labcabincalifornia. While the album's sepulchral finale feels like the most gorgeous song TV on the Radio never wrote. But mostly, 'For Mark, Your Son' marks the ascendance of a singular talent, fusing scattered influences into a coherent vision, an artist scarred by his experiences but healing through his broken poems.
Lead single 'Coroner' boasts "verses that sit somewhere between early Kid Cudi and Kweku Collins...the hook wouldn't sound out of place on a TV on the Radio album" [Passion Of The Weiss] and premiered on Frank151, with coverage on Impose Magazine '[Lando] Chill sums up the entire fallout of the heart'
Follow-up single 'Early In The Morning' premiered on Mass Appeal, 'the perfect chilled-out backdrop for summer,' alongside album announcement and interview; receiving coverage on Insomniac Magazine

During the 80's dancehall era a number of record producers claimed to be the real authentic sound of downtown Kingston but Ossie Thomas' Black Solidarity label ,operating out of Delamare Avenue in the heart of the ghetto, was the real deal....
'This was the start of the 70's when the political rivalry got heated between JLP and the PNP and the shots start fire....I said to myself if you're going die you're going die..from that me not scared of Kingston'
Ossie Thompson
This album provides an insightful glimpse into life in these unforgiving Kingston neighbourhoods describing not only the poverty and desperation but also how at times, styles, fashions and the cathartic joys of music and the dancehall could transform this harsh environment into one of joyous celebration...

1973-1976 was a period in Reggae's history when the music coming from Kingston,Jamaica was at its peak.
So many talented singers, who sang soulful/righteous songs found their way onto tape.
Maybe it was the competition between the studios like Randys,Channel 1 and Harry J's and the quality of the singers available to sing these tunes. But whatever caused the explosion the mighty voices of Horace Andy,Cornell Campbell,Johnny Clarke and Ronnie Davis never sounded better....
The tracks as you can see here were culled together from sessions recorded at the fore mentioned legendary studios. Then taken to King Tubby's home style studio at 18 Drummlie Ave in the Waterhouse district of Kingston. This is where the great Dubmaster himself would record the vocal tracks.
A method in which he preferred to work and then mix the tracks Tubby style...We have travelled to Jamaica and listened to hours of master tapes to bring this set to you.
So please sit back and enjoy what we believe to be a wicked set by Kingston's finest..
ALLSTARS one and all........
One more tiem Mr.Tubby if you please ..roll that tape....
