2014 kicks off with the Pressure Sounds highlight produced by Phil Pratt! The 'Get Wise' album was only ever pressed in very limited quantities in 1975 in Jamaica. It was never released outside of Jamaica. Various 45s have been available from the album over the years but this will be the first time its been available as a full album on CD. There are 6 extra tracks on the CD and 4 extra tracks on the single vinyl album. Horace Andy has one of the most distinctive voices in reggae music and its no accident that he has remained popular for the last 40 years both in the roots reggae market and in the more mainstream market. The album comes with the original artwork sleevenotes and has been fully re-mastered from the original vinyl album.

Phil Pratt and Horace Andy's paths had first crossed in the small but vibrant 60s Kingston Music scene. Phil Pratt and Hensley Morris had been at Studio One when Horace Andy and another singer called Frank Melody had an unsuccessful audition there. Horace Andy had however impressed Phil Pratt and they arranged to meet at a later date. This later meeting was fruitful and they arranged the song 'Black Mans Country' that was produced by Pratt and pressed in limited numbers on Ken Lacks Caltone label.

This was the beginning of a musical relationship between Phil Pratt and Horace Andy that stretched until the mid 1980s. Songs such as 'Get wise', '80 Percent Badness', 'Money Root Of All Evil' all reflected Horace Andy's excellent ability to express an understanding of the nuances of a good socially conscious song. On love songs such as 'Let Your Teardrops Fall' (which has Pratt on Harmony) and 'I Will Forgive You' both love songs that stand up well against his classic Studio One material. The album has the usual stellar session players from the Kingston recording scene of the 1970s.

Horace Andy has one of the most distinctive voices in reggae music and its no accident that he has remained popular for the last 40 years both in the roots reggae market and in the more mainstream market. Max Alfred Elliott, besser bekannt als Maxi Priest, ist zurück! The productions of producer Bunny 'Striker' Lee were so extensive in the early to mid 1970's that labels were created just to handle his ever expanding output.
Three labels that came about during this time when dub was king were Jackpot. Justice and Attack.
Here we look at the Jackpot label and have compiled a collection of some of its finest dub cuts.
Jackpot Records was formed in the early 1970's as a subsidiary of Trojan Records to handle the output from the hitmaker from Jamaica..Bunny 'Striker 'Lee
Bunny was at the birth of dub and worked closely with Dubmaster King Tubby,having his masters stored at Tubbys allowed his rhythms to be worked on by Tubby, whether it was to remix or add vocals to an existing tape,the new interest in the dubbed version would see the next single being worked on for its version side.

This is the second release for the Portuguese label based in London, Cubiculo Records. Available in 7'' vinyl and digital formats, 'Tortuga' features the legendary Jah Screechy (a veteran UK Dancehall MC formerly of Sir Coxsone Sound & currently under the management of Reality Shock) who is internationally known for massive hits like 'Walk and Skank/On A Ragga Tip'. The new record 'Think Me Did Gone' is an anthemic comeback song, guaranteed to make waves on the streets & mash up the dancefloor!
This killer release in the lines of Prince Jammy's 80's productions it's a digital reggae in full force production, crafted by Marco ''Docta Strictly'' Musetti - member of the Italian soundsystem Strictly Sound. Docta Strictly has been producing reggae riddims for some years now. He recently started to produce music with original equipment from the 80s : synthesizers, drum machines, and studio FX to achieve the sound and warmth of the analog equipment he was looking for. The most important influences on Docta Strickly are the dub influenced productions to which he was exposed by his brother Sandro 'Benidub' Musetti and the killer digital vibes from Selector Fab's (original Strictly Sound selector) record collection. In 2011, meeting with the UK veteran artist Sammy Gold represented a turning point for Marco's Productions, after which Sammys vocals rapidly expanded the fan base of the Strickly Sound.

With its unmistakeable fanfare and blistering horns duet, this Dubkasm production has become a piece of roots history since its explosive arrival at Notting Hill Carnival 2012 when Aba Shanti-I unleashed it to explosive effect. Until now, these same cuts have been run exclusively by Dubkasm and Aba alone. Finally available on 12' vinyl due to public demand, Dubkasm have decided to offer it on a heavy slab of 180g vinyl for the enjoyment of one and all. Featuring Dubkasm's own Digistep on alto sax in a combination with the talented Galgo on trumpet, the record takes you on a journey through dub. The majestic horns soar over a rolling drum foundation with skipping 6/8 hihats, celestial pads and obscure percussion. The versions are punctuated by Dubkasm's trademark depth charge reverbs, with the raw part 4 featuring mysterious duduk woodwind and an onslaught of modulation effects.

An intriguing project by singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist G.T. Moore, he of G.T Moore and the Reggae Guitars (first album 1974) fame, he of the folk group Heron who recorded their first album in a field by the Thames in 1970, he who recorded on Lee Perry's final album at the Black Ark studio 1980, also was a part time member of Radical Dance Faction and who's done session work with the likes of Johnny Nash, Joan Baez, Poly Styrene and more.
*Fast forward to now: G.T. collaborates with the Lost Ark Band creating some beautiful shimmering, dreamy, deep phaser-laden sounds giving more than a nod the aforementioned Perry's studio from way back then.
*Features two compositions - `Be True' and `One Two Three' - the latter originally recorded with Heron - with respective dub versions playing at 33 and weighing in at 25 minutes.

Tapper Zukie's 'Man from Bosrah' album still stands up today many years after its initial release, as only great music seems to do.
Tapper was one of the few Jamaican artists in the late 1970's that crossed over with the emerging punk/new wave audience.
Punk poet Patti Smith had practised her poetry over the rhythms from Tapper Zukies 'Man Ah Warrior' album, before reworking them as songs with her band.
Acknowledging this influence she brought Tapper on stage with her at the Hammersmith Odeon 23 October 1976 and introduced Tapper to a whole new audience. An audience that accepted Reggae as a music that also dealt with struggle and oppression.
The great cover shot shows Tapper standing at the back gates of the school yard in Trench town which was opposite his own yard...so sit back and hear what was happening back then that made this such a time defining album.....

Eingespielt mit den Musikern Cleveland "Clevie" Browne & Wycliffe "Steely" Johnson, den Super Power All-Stars, und Wayne Smith - selbstverständlich mit dem Hit "Under Me Sleng Teng" aus dem Jahre 1985. EM Records is proud to present the first new album release in 25 years from Australia's Sheriff Lindo, dubmaster of the Southern Hemisphere.
His "Ten Dubs That Shook The World" [EM1119CD/LP], released in 1988, has been growing in stature since its release, supported by its re-issue on EM Records, and in the meantime the Sheriff has been working steadily, deep-local style, honing his skills with the Australian sound systems Firehouse Sound and Earthlink Sound. The tracks on "Aftershock Dubs", recorded between 1990 and 2005, while never officially released, have been played as dub plates at sound system parties, proved movers, tested in the heat of action. Recorded at Lindo's 4/5 Studios, these specials were chosen by Japanese sound system savants Takuto Kuratani (Ruv Bytes) and Atsushi Muneshige (Touch the Sky/Corner Stone Music) from a cornucopia of goodness supplied by Sheriff Lindo, mastered by Kuratani for maximum impact. EM Records' first-ever Dancehall release is available on vinyl and CD, with two bonus tracks on the CD. One track features the vocals of Ras Roni; all tracks feature the experience-forged Dub sense of the Sheriff. More than a quarter-century of love, knowledge and soul-science has been distilled here. Few artists enjoy a legacy that involves a re-engineering of the very genre in which they work. Lee 'Scratch' Perry is such an artist. As a pioneer of dub reggae Perry viewed the mixing console as musical instrument in its own right. The influence of his revolutionary approach has been felt world-wide and into genres far beyond reggae. His 1976 effort, Super Ape, is considered a masterpiece of this or any genre. Working with The Upstetters at his Black Ark studio Perry created a sound with such a lasting appeal that The Rough Guide includes Super Ape as one of their 100 Essential Reggae releases. Get On Down now proudly presents this landmark Upsetters release in a never before seen vinyl offering. The project is expanded to a double LP with side four featuring a unique and sure to be collectible etched image of the Super Ape featured on the cover art. Mr Benn (aka Ben Menter) is a name that has been bubbling away on the Bristol scene for many years, having released a number of records on the local Leisure imprint and running nights around the Stokes Croft area for many moons. Often working with MCs such as Blackout JA and Souls Liberation, his bumping mix of hip hop beats and reggae always struck a chord on the cities dancefloors, although it was his track 'Long Time' with legendary UK rapper Blak Twang that really put him on the map and cemented his hip hop/reggae style in clubs across the world. Remixes of Horace Andy, Cutty Ranks, Monkey Mafia and Joe Driscoll followed, earning him a solid reputation for shaking dancefloors. Reared on a diet of Aswad, The Specials and King Tubby, with 90s hip hop as a backdrop as well as an emergent jungle scene, the musical influences behind his sound are vast and wide, not to mention the eclectic culture that his home town of Bristol exudes. However, his more recent involvement with the Bristol Hifi Soundsystem (alongside Massive Attack's Daddy G) has seen him digging deeper into his reggae roots for this, his debut album. 'Shake A Leg' is truly a labour of love, taking almost 4 years to complete (the title is a tongue in cheek reference to this!) and has seen Ben collaborate with some of his musical heroes such as The Ragga Twins, Tenor Fly And Top Cat - all certified veterans of the UK reggae scene. There are also a number of lesser known talents such as up-and-coming star Eva Lazarus, Canada's MC ZULU, Jamaica's Peppery and Nanci Corriea from the Congo Natty crew, not forgetting Toddla T's main hypeman Serocee, who featured on the lead single from the album 'Rising Star'. Taking in dub, roots, dancehall, bashment, hip hop, house, soca and dubstep - the album really is a true reflection of the UK's ongoing obsession with Jamaican soundsystem culture and music past, present and future. With its eye firmly on the dancefloor it is sure to be the soundtrack to many a festival this summer.

Lord Echo aka Mike Fabulous finally is back with his second album "Curiosities". His debut album "Melodies" took the organic groove world in a storm and turned into a classic-item in little to no time. The vinyl edition was selling for up to 100$ on Ebay until it got repressed just recently.

Lord Echo is guitarist and producer for bands such as The Black Seeds, The Recloose Band & Fabulous/Arabia (you remember their incredible album on Jakarta Records last year). His music is a roaring romp through his crazy world of sound; a magical, meandering journey through Afrodisco, Soul Reggae, Latin boogie and EthioJazz.
On "Curiosities", Echo is joined by a plethora of notable colleagues from every Newszealand band you can imagine (e.g. The Black Seeds, Fat Freddys Drop, Electric Wire Hustle), but in the end it's all about Echo!
His remarkable talents are everywhere in abundance. The studio boffin has put down his soldering iron and picked up his tambourine in order to create a mighty album of towering tunes. Be it the wonderful Reggae infused vocal cut "Molten Lava" featuring Leila Adu on the vocals, or the funky instrumental dancer "Digital Haircut", Lord Echo manages to connect with the sound niche he carved for himself with "Melodies" without being redundant.

We're delighted to announce the debut album fromThe Fontanelles. Originally formed to be the onstage band for the London run ofFela! The Musical, the band's natural chemistry was such that they instinctively continued performing together when the show ended. They took the energy of the stage show and started working on original material, addingreggae, ethio-jazzandskainfluences to theafrobeatsource.


Their debut album takes in everything that defines The Fontanelles' distinct sound. There'suptempo Afrobeatthumpers (Gaia's Revenge, the seismic Afrocat and recent single Criminality),mid-tempo dubgroovers (Pinprick & Project 31) and the band's unique take onlo-slung funk(The Wave).

This Pressure Sounds release is an exclusive dub plate version that has not been releases before. Like Natural Mystic

first appeared on a Daddy Kool 12''. But the version we have is more stripped down and Sound System friendly.

After a year-long break, LionDub45 returns with a stellar new release from Brooklyn based producer Ticklah featuring stand-out
vocals from Jamaica's Courtney John. Both artists should need no introduction - as a founding member of the Dap Kings, Antibalas,
and the Easy Star All-Stars, Victor Axelrod spreads his work across hip hop, funk, soul, and African rhythms, working with artists like
Mark Ronson, Amy Winehouse and Estelle, but his more rootical vibrations are saved for his Ticklah productions. Courtney John is a
celebrated Jamaican vocalist who has worked extensively with Sly & Robbie on their Silent River label and the UK based Peckings
camp. Courtney's sweet falsetto style evokes the classic era of lover's rock and early dancehall. It's easy to hear Axelrod's funk roots
in the guitar and organ licks on the vocal version of 'Born to Fly', and the busy production is filled out by a precision guitar skank,
bubbling bass, and a spare percussion palette while maintaining a vintage roots feel. Courtney chants his lover's song high over the
rest with the poetry and clarity that has earned him his fame. On the dub, a liquid bass leads the drastically reduced rhythm as expert
echo treatments of the drums and pads propel the deep, heads-down groove. Ticklah and Courtney John provide two perfect sides

Coming from the mind of internationally renowned reggae & drum'n'bass DJ Liondub,
Liondub45 is a brand new sub label of the already well established and highly sought after LionDub International imprint, which
represents the electronic, reggae influenced worlds of Jungle, Drum'n'Bass, and Dubstep sounds. Liondub45 is intent on releasing a
catalog of collectible 7's focusing on deep, vintage dub and scorching Roots Reggae showcasing the talents of a venerable who's
who of modern Dub producers and original foundation vocalists.
Starting things with this brand new label will be a string of releases from one of Dub music's brightest stars - NYC based producer,
keyboard virtuoso, and vintage Reggae producer Victor Axelrod, aka Ticklah. Victor has been a continual and integral part of the
NYC music scene for over a decade - as a performer, Ticklah is a founding member of Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Antibalas,
the Easy Star All-Stars, and worked with Mark Ronson on both the Amy Winehouse and Daniel Merriweather albums. As a producer,
Ticklah was behind the boards for the Dub Side Of The Moon album (co-production, mixing), remixed Shaun Escoffery's classic
'Days Like This' (alongside DJ Spinna), produced 2001's legendary Roots Combination album, and released his own critically
acclaimed solo Ticklah Vs. Axelrod LP on NYC Reggae label Easy Star. The list goes on and on...Victor is a man in very high demand
from some very big players for his untouchable musical aesthetics, his intricate attention to detail, and a true understanding of our
musical past.
It's with that level of quality and a true reverence for the past that Ticklah offers us up this very special 7'. Things kick off with
Ticklah's remix of the red hot Jahdan Blakkamoore, whose debut album Buzzrock Warrior on !k7 subsidiary Gold Dust is currently
tearing up the charts. Axelrod flips the 'The General' into a deep and heavy dub workout complete with an otherworldly skank and
analog squelching bass. To the B-Side, 'Elimination Game', a monster slice of dub with a driving Steppers beat, swirling sound
effects, deep percussion delays, bubbling organs, and all the studio wizardry we've come to expect.

Helmed by world-renowned drum & bass and reggae DJ Liondub, the Liondub Internatonal imprint has made massive strides since
it's inception. Releasing a steady stream of top-shelf material from a growing stable of producers and vocalists, it has become the
go-to source for emerging music at the nexus of reggae, dubstep and drum & bass sounds. Last year saw the christening of the
Liondub45 sub label, which specializes in collectible deep, vintage dub and scorching Roots Reggae 7's and showcases the talents
of a veritable who's who of modern Dub producers and original foundation vocalists.
After the runaway success of it's premier release, featuring Jahdan Blakkamoore's vivid anthem "The General", Liondub45 returns
with another winning 7" pairing New York City dub master Ticklah with the sweet sounds of Lincoln "Sugar" Minott. As a singer,
producer and soundsystem organizer Sugar Minott's career chronicles the transformation of reggae music from lovers rock and rub-
a-dub to the rise of ragga dancehall and the computerized riddims of today. Mr. Minott launched his solo career at Coxsone Dodd's
Studio One where he spearheaded the popular practice of "versioning" existing riddims. He went on to form his own Black Roots
label and Youth Promotion sound system which together fostered the careers of a huge number of Jamaica's greatest reggae
dancehall artists. Sugar Minott's enormous creative spirit survives him in these beautiful words laid down over a jubilant dub from
Ticklah.
NYC based keyboardist, engineer, and producer Victor Axelrod, aka Ticklah, has been an integral part of the NYC music scene for
over a decade. He is a founding member of Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Antibalas and the Easy Star All-Stars with whom he
continues to record and perform. In the past several years he has recorded keys for Mark Ronson, appearing on Version as well as
the Amy Winehouse album. He has released his own Ticklah VS Axelrod LP on NYC reggae label Easy Star, for whom he also co-
produced and engineered several roots compilations including the Pink Floyd cover album Dub Side Of The Moon. A longtime fan of
Sugar Minot, Mr. Axelrod was thrilled to have the opportunity to record with such a talented and influential artist. The two together
have produced a momentous recording.
Praise His Name is an uplifting message for the masses; to give hope to the downtrodden and remind us of our need for spiritual
wealth. No one could say it better than Sugar Minott, whose own works supported generations, and here he has done so with a
bittersweet minor melody that fits perfectly over Ticklah's rolling bass, muffled rimshot and lush organ sound. Minott's erie harmonies
ring out with crystal clarity in the mix which is wrapped in spring reverb, chugging organ and punctuated by glistening agogo bells
while rippling echos punch holes in the dub verison. A classic like this comes along once in a life time and this one is for the ages.
Watch out for more 7's from Ticklah as well as the likes of Johnny Osbourne, Luciano, Judah Eskender Tafari, Courtney John

First time vinyl issue for the earthshaking 12" mix of Fire House Rock, 1980 production from Henry 'Junjo' Lawes, recorded at Channel One with the Roots Radics and Scientist in full effect. Flip features two combination more cuts from Yellowman & Fathead and Michigan & Smiley.

Hot & Rich-Rocksteady is the first in a series of special 4 track Rock Steady instrumental 7' EP's by Hot & Rich with Lynn Taitt & The Jets / Beverleys All Stars (Jamaica). Hot & Rich play Sax & Harmonica led instrumentals on original Jamaican recorded 1960's Rock Steady rhythms. The series also features 1960's style 7' EP picture sleeves.

Hot & Rich are Bob "Hot Dog" Ormrod and his son, Richard Ormrod. With over 50 years of musical experience between them, they play everything, from Traditional to Free Jazz, Blues, Ska, Reggae, Latin, Calypso, Mento & South African music. Their musical empathy, formed over 15 years of playing with now defunct bands, Skaville Train, Ska Bop and others, enables them to go into the studio, with little or no prior scores or arrangements, and play track after track of innovative and passionate music.

The featured instrumentals were recorded over a two day session in December, 2003 and at a later session in 2004, at the Bijou Studio, Taunton, Somerset, GB. Hot & Rich played Alto, Tenor, Soprano & Baritone saxes, Clarinets, Bass Clarinet & Harmonica. The overall track style ranges from loose style, free-blowing Jazz influenced incarnations, on Sax and Harmonica, to more precisely orchestrated tracks. All instrument parts are played over original Jamaican recorded 1967 Rock Steady rhythms and all rhythms were supplied through the courtesy of Derrick Morgan O.D. The EP's concentrate on previously unreleased or deleted Hot & Rich tracks, which have subsequently been revised/up-dated, re-mixed and re-mastered by Alien Dread & Top Beat, Summer 2013, at the recently fully refurbished Phat Dubz studio, Nr. Exeter, GB.
