Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde is, simply put, one of the most perfect albums in the history of recorded music regardless of genre. Musically, the foundation of this perfection is the production work of J-Swift. As such it's more than fitting that Pharcyde's Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde be released as an all instrumental outing. Swift's adventurous use of samples from jazz, R&B, funk, classic rock and more melded with his personal additions of live instrumentation including piano, bass, and Fender Rhodes along with drum arrangements from fellow producer JMD create a lush, jazzy soundscape that works well as a stand alone recording. Though the west coast's predominant G-Funk sound of the time or the east coast's conscious kings De La Soul may have sold more records at the time, The Pharcyde and J-Swift's work on Bizarre Ride has stood the text of time and continues to resonate with fans new and old in a way that few records have or ever will.

Born in 1990 to a truck manufacturer in Nara Japan, Youtaro was attracted to HIPHOP early on. First engaging with the culture through break dancing and then by making beats by 2010. In 2012 he began to release his MPC2000XL beats on Bandcamp -beats with heavy basslines and rough samples, described as a CHILL that intoxicates.

On his long-awaited second full-length solo album Die Cut, the trailblazing DJ and producer underwent a creative birth reflected in its 17 tracks. The artist augments his signature approach famously earmarked by impeccable sample selection, searing scratching, and big-screen worthy arrangements with the inclusion of A-list musicians, songwriter structure,' and a whole lot of team spirit including Los Angeles producer, curator and purveyor of culture, Carlos Nino. Cut Chemist called his longtime friend to act as associate producer and production coordinator. He holed up in Comp-ny Studios four blocks from home and invited a revolving door of high-profile musicians to contribute such as drum superstar Deantoni Parks (The Mars Volta), rap legend Biz Markie, actress Erika Christensen, tune-yards, Farmer Dave Scher, Dexter Story, and more. They comprised his studio band'. Between his high-profile reunion with his rap group Jurassic 5 at Coachella 2013, he dedicated nearly two years to arranging crazy amounts of cutting room material' before starting the mixing process during 2014 with Benjamin Tierney (Kamasi Washington, The Gaslamp Killer Experience) and Andy Kravitz (Billy Joel, The Fugees, Cypress Hill, Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince). Operating out of The Exchange in London, Mike Marsh completed mastering in 2017 as the final product brought a comprehensive and airtight vision to life. Rap was something that just happened to her. Keny Arkana was only twelve when she started writing her first lyrics. Her first contacts with the record business came in 2005. But even before she infiltrated the matrix, Keny released her first opus, L'Esquisse, a fast and furious street album containing the hit 'Le Missile est lancé' produced by Tefa & Masta as well as 'De l'Opéra à La Plaine", a gargantuan freestyle track by twenty writers born and bred on the streets of Marseilles. 12 years after L'Esquisse and 6 years after L'Esquisse 2, Keny releases L'Esquisse 3. A spontaneous, creative, sincere, energetic and meaningful record, with powerful rhythmic and precise arrangements. Even though the record has a mixtape appearance, it hasn't been a botched job, as evidenced by its complex structure and harmony : musical interludes around the four elements, true rap anthems like 'Couleur Molotov' or 'Lejos' and contemporary hits like 'Abracadabra' or 'Freestyle Beatbox' with beatboxer Tressym for an instrumental. Producer Hans Hu$tle and singer Tahnee Matthiesen met while dancing to D'Angelos music in a club in Munich. Although they already knew each others musical projects, only after this they noticed their common love for dark moods and getting lost in psychedelic spheres.
After nights of endless sessions, listening to Darkside, Portishead, computer noises and fieldrecordings, they started to combine their different approaches of making music for sketches that would later become the Contact" EP. The music on this records feels futuristic and innovative while also obviously drawing from the mentioned influences, best heard in the first single - We All : A psychedelic, moody, but still focused peace of music, based on raw vocal and guitar recordings, topped with a heavy baseline and edgy drums.
The whole record is a great mixture of emotional power and well crafted production. It´s very intimate and sensual, while simultaneously being powerful and heavy. A listening pleasure for anybody who loves to get lost in music!

About Tahnee Matthiesen:
Singer and songwriter Tahnee Matthiesen was born on the 18th of April 1992 in Munich. Since her Father was a musician and singer, she grew up surrounded by music, which inspired her to develop her own melodies and lyrics at a young age. When she was thirteen, she sang in a small local singer songwriter band, presenting her work for the first time in public. After finishing school she took part in a two-year music-theater-project. It was here were she met the Producer Daniel Siebertz (Provo) with whom she became known as the Trip-Hop Duo Luko.

About Hans Hu$tle:
Born in 1993, Hans Hu$tle began his musical career by building a toy guitar out of his lego collection. Soon exchanging the toy with a real instrument, he started to play pieces by groups like Pink Floyd, The Beatles and Radiohead. Strongly inspired by his elder brother, a huge fan of Portishead and UK Dubstep (and a music producer himself), Hans finally started to build tunes on his mum´s computer. In 2014 he made his first public appearance with the project - Akere , working together with singer Sarah Sulai and Drummer/Producer L One to combine Electronica, Future Beats and Trip-Hop. After their debut LP - Blue Sphinx was released on 58Beats in 2016, Hans started to focus on producing more instrumental music, leading to the release of his G-Funk and Hip-Hop influenced - D.I.D.M.Z.D.G.S.H. Tape in 2016 and his genre-combining - EP II via Bumm Clack Records in 2017.

Yet, while Hans has been making music for more than twelve years, his unique productions and genre-combining songwriting is only now being discovered by a wider audience. Just recently he got invited to Red Bull Music Academy Bass Camp in Berlin, and the single - Gettin´ Money from his - EP II" got premiered by Splash Mag, one of Germany's biggest Hip-Hop magazines. His upcoming project, a collaboration EP with singer Tahnee Matthiesen, takes him back to his roots: It´s a sensual and dark record, strongly inspired by 90s Trip-Hop and Electronica. The release is anticipated for November 2017 on Compost Record's new sublabel Beat Art Department.

23 year-old violinist and vocalist, Sudan Archives writes, plays, and produces her own music. Drawing inspiration from Sudanese fddlers, she is self-taught on the violin, and her unique songs also fold in elements of R&B, and experimental electronic music.
Sudan Archives grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she messed around with instruments in the house' and took up violin in the fourth grade, eventually teaching herself how to play the instrument by ear. When she discovered the violin playing style of Northeast Africa, her eyes opened to the possibilities of the instrument. The way they played it was different from classical music. I resonated with the style, and I was like, 'Maybe I
can use this style with electronic music,'' she says.
This fusing of folk music and electronic production was the turning point for Sudan. I started mixing my violin into beats,' she says, It wasn't complicated — I'd just sing straight into the iPad.' She honed her at-home style after moving to Los Angeles aged 19 to study music technology, and after a chance encounter at a Low End Theory party with Stones Throw
A&R and Leaving Records owner Matthewdavid, she signed with Stones Throw. At the very start of her musical career, she's already won plaudits from the likes of the New York Times and Pitchfork, and played live at experimental festival Moogfest

In the whole history of hip-hop music, few groups can claim to have been as influential and important as Joseph Saddler's group Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five. Many of the genre's signature elements and trademarks can be traced back to the supergroup founded by the Grandmaster, their discography was among the first to feature recordings of scratching and turntablism, their's was the first to feature songs with political and social commentary, they were the first to refer to rappers as "MC's", some might even say they were the group that first coined the term "hip-hop." Though Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five was considered the number one hip-hop group on their home turf of New York City, they only maintained a following on a local level, performing and releasing
singles exclusively on the East Coast. It wasn't until the release of Sugar Hill Gang's "Rapper's Delight" that the group realized they could break into the mainstream. After signing with Sugar Hill Records, the group released their debut album The Message in 1982. Bolstered by Flash's deft turntablism, rappers Melle Mel, Kidd Creole, and Keef Cowboy's vocals, and production which sampled everything from Chic to the Tom Tom Club to The Jimmy Castor Bunch, The Message was a revelation of sorts. More than simply being a Billboard hit for the group, the album helped cement hip-hop's credibility with mainstream audiences, and is considered a major achievement in hip-hop history. The album's title track was especially praised, and is considered one of the greatest rap tracks in music history.

The Allergies' debut album introduced the world to the way they effortlessly fuse funk, soul, disco, hip-hop and breaks into dancefloor-ready nuggets of ear candy. Taking classic sounds and reshaping for the modern age is the signature that won them plaudits across the globe.

Not ones to rest on their laurels, it hasn't taken long for them to deliver more of the goods on their second full-length album, 'Push On'. As well as taking the successful formula of the first record and expanding on the sound with raw Funk, Psych, Northern Soul, and Boogie influences, The Allergies enlisted two giants of underground Hip-Hop to bless mics on the album as well.

After a hugely successful collaboration on their debut LP, once again the dynamic lyricism and production skills of the inimitable Andy Cooper (Ugly Duckling) are present and correct in this new collection. Besides bringing the party on tracks like 'Main Event', he also settles scores with 'It Won't Be Me', before destroying all-comers on the battle Rap behemoth, 'Buzzsaw'. Also joining in on the action is UK MC veteran, Dr Syntax (The Mouse Outfit, Foreign Beggars) who prescribes some more healthy Hip-Hop advice on the track 'Remedy'.

Other highlights include the vintage Soul stomper, 'Entitled to That', Sixties uptempo groover, 'Hold You Close', and the fantastic little strutter, 'Get Down On You'. All in all it's a brand new set of future classics from your new favourite funky beatmakers, The Allergies.

A pioneer of hardcore rap music, one can't talk about the West Coast hip-hop scene without mentioning Todd Anthony Shaw, better known by the stage name Too $hort. A veteran of the genre, Too $hort's discography is one filled with tracks about pimping, drug use, promiscuity, and unapologetically explicit language. (His 1985 record Don't Stop Rappin' is notoriously one of the first to use the word "bitch" on a track.) He's released nearly 20 albums over the course of his 35-year career, and collaborated with artists as varied as Jay-Z, UGK, 50 Cent, Lil Jon, he's even been one of the few musicians to work with both 2Pac and The Notorious B.I.G., in the middle of

their infamous feud. Too $hort's works were largely a cult phenomenon during the early years of his career, but 1988's Life Is... broke him into a mainstream audience, and gave him his most critically acclaimed release. (Not to mention his highest-selling to date.) The album stood out in its field, at a time when re-sampling old-school funk and R&B singles was the name of the game, Too $hort instead opted to take established riffs and hooks from from those singles and re-create them with studio musicians and drum machines. The album cemented Too $hort's status among MC's, and the title track itself would even be re-sampled in tracks by rappers UGK, hip-hop-influenced rock group Sublime, and even Too $hort himself on later singles.

Another 90s classic hip hop banger liberated to 7" wax, finding DJ Premier's timeless remix of Showbiz & AG's "Next Level" remastered and recut. On the flip, the original sample as always - the blissed out "Mr Mellow" by legend Maynard Fergusson. Don't sleep - as always, these are limited to 300 copies.

Hay Luv' the new album by Twit One contains Cool Bap. For those who want to put a name tag on the versatile sound of the Cologne based Dj and producer, are free to use it. Hay Luv' is the follow-up to The Sit-In' from 2015. In the meantime Twit One has released a Keats'-record on HH V, put out Timing & Effekte' together with Retrogott as Echomann & 4Track Boy and uploaded 154 episodes Radio Love Love. And he also played a gig in your town, if you happen to live in Hildesheim, London or Tokyo.
Hay Luv' contains 15 tracks and will be available on LP, MC and digital. Special guests are C.A. Ramirez on the beat and Retrogott on the cut. Vocal features come from spoken word artist PBLouison and MCs/singers Turt & Charlie Tappin (aka Summer Sons) from Bristol.
