They have played numerous sold out gigs in the UK and mainland Europe, flown to America to appear on the 'Ellen show' and spent weeks in Japan and Australia . In August 2015 the band released their debut album '143' which went in at number 4 in the official UK chart and number 11 in the official Irish chart. It debuted at number 1 in the Official Japanese international album chart and has gone platinum in Poland too.

On September 1st 2017 Bars and Melody are set to release their highly awaited brand new album 'Generation Z'. The album shows the bands progression over the last 18 months and is set to cause another seismic shock in the music industry

DJ Harrison is Richmond VA-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Devonne Harris.

The son of a radio DJ who introduced him to the world of record collecting, Harris grew up with music, progressing from violin, to high school drum-line, to the Jazz Studies program at Virginia Commonwealth University. He also continued working with other instruments and developed an interest in sampling. His development as a producer - at first, without a computer or sampler - came first learning to replay samples on the drums, piano, bass or guitar.

DJ Harrison finds himself inspired by local musicians in the Richmond scene that's as diverse and nonexclusive as they come. Among rappers, producers, punks and bluegrass bands, he falls within reach of an expansive pool of musicians to collaborate with. He lives and works in Jellowstone, a house turned recording compound occupied by his band mates in Butcher Brown, a 'garage punk jazz funk' group.

Juice Aleem, the voice that launched Big Dada is back with what we feel is his strongest work to date. The new album Voodu Starchild features contributions from Roots Manuva, Mike Ladd, Blackitude, HPrizm and many more.

This record is a collaborative between MarQ Spekt and experimental, proto-new wave musician Gary Wilson (Stones Throw). It's rare that you get the opportunity to work with the actual artist rather than just sampling his records. Gary opened his vaults and provided sample soundscapes. Some of these instrumentals date back to 1973 and may have been heard before. Others may not. The ending result is a pure creative expression and meshes Hip-Hop, Psychedelic, Jazz and Funk. Soak up the vibrations and enjoy! This is the kind of idea that makes you enjoy the fringes of rap more than what's in the spotlight. With that said, Broken Mazes' sounds

weirder on paper than it does in the headphones. Gary Wilson is an awesomely strange dude with some outré music under his belt, but for this project Spekt wisely sticks with the more accessible sides of Wilson's catalog. It's all breezy jazz-funk with some vague psychedelic touches for extra oomph, a wide-open field for Spekt to run his free-flowing bars. The result is relaxed and enjoyable, if at times a bit unfocused - kinda like a good open-ended improve session by a talented jazz band.

180g vinyl. SFDB Records make a triumphant return to the physical realm of vinyl with the debut EP by illustrious lyricist NOMAD. The UK Hip Hop imprint was like a who's who of the scene in the early 2000's, with label force SECONDSON one of the most in demand producers in the country.

So here we are, completely out of the blue, with 'Preludes' by NOMAD. With brothers Daniel and Mark Richardson behind the boards, the beats they've produced are pure SFDB. NOMAD by name, NOMAD by nature, literally. The brothers speak highly of this mysterious MC that used to frequent regular jams back in their hometown of Hull (the capital of culture don't you know). 'We used to see this guy get up at jams and just tear it up, he was incredible, full of one liners and sharp come backs. But this NOMAD kid, no one knew him and even now, I couldn't tell you where he lives. We literally have his email address, we don't even have his number'claims other brother Daniel, 'when we first put the idea to SFDB, the intrigue alone sold the project to them.' 'A real return to the crate digging ethos that I still believe Hip Hop actually should be' says SECONDSON.

Now the clincher, when Daniel and Mark were initially able to tie the NOMAD down, get him into their studio, the demos sent down to SFDB had a reaction that they never expected. 'I know this guy!' SECONDSON came back with, 'I've heard him at jams here in Cardiff and seen him do the same in Birmingham, he absolutely kills it, I never had any idea he was the same NOMAD you guys were referring to.'

5 tunes of flowing, heavy psychedelic Hip Hop is a great way to announce yourself. And the music They came armed with only an MPC, a sole Technics 1200 and a fat flight case full of some of the rarest breaks out there. Proof they know what they're doing. All sampled off vinyl, and with a solitary microphone.

Coalmine Records is pleased to relaunch 'Land of the Crooks,' the collaborative extended play project from the late Sean Price and Melbourne's go to producer, M-Phazes. The project finds the longtime underground legend lending his distinctive, Brownsville-bred grimy vocals over Phazes' rich tracks full of dramatic pianos, rich bass-lines, swinging horns and hard drums. The A-side includes the main passes, comprised of four original tracks with the addition of the Small Professor Remix for 'Murdah Type Thinkin (feat. Guilty Simpson).' For this special edition rerelease, Coalmine has also added the Divided Souls Ent. & DJ Pain 1 Remix of Land of the Crooks,' which was only previously made available on the label's remix compilation, 'Remineded,' which first dropped back in January of 2015. The B-side includes the instrumental passes of all of the original tracks, as well as the Small Pro Remix, in addition to the Crookapella,' which includes various scratch stems taken from the EP, in addition to various isolated drum sounds, sound effects, and acapella of the Land of the Crooks' single. Additional features on LOTC include Roc Marciano, Billy Danze (of M.O.P.), Maffew Ragazino, Loudmouf Choir and the Dilated Junky, DJ Babu. Vinyl is manufactured on classic black discs, and comes complete with the Andres Guzman designed artwork, inspired by the vintage '80s movie, 'Crocodile Dundee.' Transmitting crucial beats from Burlington, the Vermont-based
producers Es-K and Loupo have crafted a smooth, introspective
long-player for the Cold Busted label titled Symbiosis. Holland-born
Es-K (Essential Knowledge) is known for his monthly Spontaneous Grooves series (where a collection of tracks are created in one sitting) and his vital 2016 album Passages. Fellow VT rhythm-wrangler Loupo is also on the rise, with a recent album on the Melody Soul label named Good Company. This new collaborative release, Symbiosis, is a brilliant meeting-of-the-minds, blending the styles of these two talents over the course of ten tracks. The result is deep and meaningful as well as groovy and 'headz approved,' showcasing the duo's penchant for envelope pushing in terms of atmosphere, melody, and rhythm.
From the opening chords of Aqua' - reminiscent of expansive works from the likes of Lonnie Linston Smith - Symbiosis sets itself apart in the realm of beat-conscious production projects. Sparkling Rhodes piano, a winding jazz bass line, and an overall pensive vibe lead midway into a funky drum part, which almost seems curiously added as an afterthought. It's been a little bit over 3 years since Night Marks last dropped their first mini album, but thankfully that hiatus finally comes to an end here today. Now after much anticipation, we present the first full-length album from Night Marks entitled Experience. Behind Night Marks (previously called 'Night Marks Electric Trio') stand two exceptional musicians - Marek Pedziwiatr and Piotrek Skorupski (also known for 'Spisek Jednego'). Though having a common hometown (Wroclaw), these two were joined together by their mutual love of jazz, soul, hip-hop, and as if that wasn't enough, they're both electronic virtuosos. Out of this melting pot of commonalities came Night Marks' unique sound, tasteful samples, bass and keyboard wizardry and remarkable lyrics.

After the release of their debut EP, they became stand-outs in the music community, landing them numerous collaborations. Night Marks worked and produced several artists including Paulina Przybysz, Polish rappers like Ten Typ Mes, Rasmentalism, JWP, Wozz, Malaysian band Bass Sekolah, and world famous singer Bilal.

Their talents landed them an opportunity to tour places they haven't visited before. This mind-opening tour through Portugal, England, Russia, Kazakhstan and Korea, influenced a large part of what you hear on the album Experience. With good reason, the intro of the album is in Korean, and the song "Break the Silence" even features the artist Lim from the Korean group Solati. A great experience while on tour in Seoul ignited a creative fire in Night Marks, which in turn fueled this new album.

Laced with 8 records in total, the follow up to 2014's EP features guest appearances from Anthony Mills (Wild Cookie), SOLATI and Natalia & Paulina Przybysz (Archeo). Led by the singles "Matter Of Time" and "Danger" both of which can now be streamed on Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, BandCamp, and you don't want miss it out.

Paid in Full is the debut album of American hip hop duo Eric B. & Rakim, released on July 7, 1987, by Island-subsidiary label 4th & B'way Records. The duo recorded the album at hip hop producer Marley Marl's home studio and Power Play Studios in New York City, following Rakim's response to Eric B.'s search for a rapper to complement his disc jockey work in 1985. The album peaked at number fifty-eight on the Billboard 200 chart and produced five singles, "Eric B. Is President", "I Ain't No Joke", "I Know You Got Soul", "Move the Crowd", and "Paid in Full".
Paid in Full is credited as a benchmark album of the golden age hip hop. Rakim's rapping, which pioneered the use of internal rhymes in hip hop, set a higher standard of lyricism in the genre and served as a template for future rappers. The album's heavy sampling by Eric B. became influential in hip hop production. The record has sold over a million copies and the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified it platinum in 1995. In 2003, the album was ranked number 228 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

It was five months before his debut album Radio hit the shelves. Is was less than a year before he celebrated his 18th birthday. And it was possibly the first ever hip-hop performance in the state of Maine. A baby-faced LL Cool J visited Colby College in Maine in 1985 and introduced hip hop to a state that knew little of it. LL broke down all four aspects of hip hop culture to the sparse crowd in attendance: emceeing, DJing, breakdancing and graffiti. It was an epic performance that truly sends shivers down your spine at witnessing the birth of hip hop outside the inner city. A must have for any true fan of the origins of hip hop.
