ALT Records Presents Its Fifth Release: Exercise in Futility EP by Uruguayan Artist Jorge Gamarra.

ALT Records is excited to announce the release of its fifth record, a dynamic new EP titled Exercise in Futility by the talented Uruguayan DJ and producer, Jorge Gamarra. This three-track EP is a powerful showcase of Jorge's unique ability to blend driving techno rhythms with electro elements, infused with irresistibly catchy melodies.

Jorge Gamarra, originally from Uruguay and now based in Barcelona, has been a prominent figure in the electronic music scene since the late 2000s. His early influences from Chicago, Detroit, the UK, and Montevideo's underground scene have shaped his distinct sound, which continues to evolve with each release. Since moving to Barcelona in 2014, Jorge has co-founded his first label, SUR, and in 2020, launched his own label, Coming From... Returning To....

Exercise in Futility exemplifies Jorge’s evolved production style, with each track offering a unique journey through sound. Mastered by Keith Tenniswood, the EP is designed to captivate dancefloors while staying true to Jorge's deep-rooted influences and innovative approach to electronic music.

We are delighted to announce that the highly anticipated collaboration between Timo Maas and Marc Romboy, "Die Zeit," will be released on a limited color splatter vinyl. Woo, formed in 1975 by brothers Mark and Clive Ives in London, is known for its experimental blend of folk, jazz, ambient, and electronic music. Their sound, characterised by the delicate integration of acoustic and electronic elements, has earned them recognition in ambient and healing music spheres. Over decades, the duo has produced over 1,500 tracks, evolving a unique style that evokes dream-like atmospheres and a meditative, soothing quality perfect for moments of reflection.

Dedicated to intertwining the serene beauty of music with the nurturing process of planting seeds when the first new signs of life emerge in the growing season. A carefully crafted collection of ambient & minimalist soundscapes, occasionally branching into the new age. Each artist will release a recycled cassette and digital format. We plan to release one cassette each month from November through June, aligning our releases with the ideal growing period. Each physical release will precede its digital counterpart by a few months, allowing the music to be experienced in its intended form first, with the tangible connection of a cassette and seeds before becoming accessible to a broader audience in the online sphere. This staggered release allows listeners to engage with the music more profoundly and intentionally, akin to the patience and care required in gardening. The official return of Dutch producer D-Felic. In the early 2000s he was one of the few in the Netherlands who got into the broken beat/soulful house sound, next to also crafting neo-soul, hip-hop and funk-oriented productions. He has worked with people like Colonel Red, Takuya Kuroda, Sandra St. Victor, Mark de Clive-Lowe, & others. After having dropped various remixes in the past year, and a few singles from the vault, it's now finally time for his comeback EP and vinyl debut: 'rEVOLution'. The EP features six soulful tracks, two with Dutch vocalist LYMA, two with US vocalist Ovasoul7 and two instrumental cuts. The unique and colorful album artwork is done by Jawgem, a fellow artist from The Hague.

Bartosz Kruczynski - the sometimes-ambient producer also known by his more club-ready moniker, Earth Trax - returns to the Shall Not Fade catalogue with his third full-length album. The Sensual World LP draws from both the moody, industrial soundscape of the cold wave-inspired LP1; and the warmer, more ethereal undertones of its successor. Whilst lending stylistic aspects from both, his latest release maintains their mercuriality and textural complexity whilst at the same time resembling something distinctly new. This 13-tracker sees the Warsaw producer continue to prove himself as one of the most versatile and consistent producers in the game.

Composed and produced during the 2020 pandemic, The Sensual World contemplates eco/environmental aesthetics and recontextualizes the genres that Kruczynski took as a springboard for the inception of his musical career. The aptly-named "Dream Pop" and "Fireflies" use arpeggiated melodies, vocal chops and luscious pads to capture the transportive allure by which early Earth Trax releases have been recognised; whilst later in the record, "Pearl" and "Splash" pair these tropes with those of industrial techno to create two pulsating dancefloor heaters. Elsewhere, the focus is on sound design and rhythmic complexity, with sharp, crystalline acid melodies ("Metal") and "Dreams Made Flesh's" broken drill beats and epic synths. Whilst other tracks see Kruczynski tap into the "bittersweet dance floor moments" for which he has become renowned over the course of his illustrious career ("Nowhere"), The Sensual World also offers its listeners sonic respite with some stripped-back, down-tempo slow burners "Nowhere" and "Everlong".

A protean producer who nonetheless has succeeded in helming a truly inimitable and idiosyncratic sound, The Sensual World LP sees Kruczynski cater for everyone - from the emotional ravers to the more hard-faced warehouse dwellers.

Season Limited returns with French house mainstay Franck Roger at the controls again. He kicks off with 'Think About It' which is a chunky groove with some crisp percussion and lithe synths worming their way in and out of the drums while a woozy vocal adds some soul. The instrumental mix peels back that vocal to allow the beats to make their mark. On the flip, 'Reach The Stars' is a dubbed-out and percussive number with a sultry late-night feel. 'Black Widow' then closes down with a more fun groove and some dusty hi-hats. All of these are sure to do a great job on the floor.

Hitting their tenth release, Heels & Souls Recordings journey to South Africa reissuing Hot Slot Machine’s pioneering and sought after self-titled album from 1992. Cultivating a sound and vibe that took South Africa by storm in the early '90s, the six track LP took influence from the genres that drifted over the Atlantic from the US and UK. From house and R&B, through to soul, hip-hop and reggae - creating a rhythm-driven, bass-heavy blend of them all, repackaged with a township flavour.

Known to many as Joe Nina, Makhosini Henry Xaba’s early forays into production would help lay the foundation for the infectious, groove-laden genre that would go on to be labelled as kwaito. With two albums already under his belt as T. McCool and King Rap, aged just 16 Makhosini wrote and produced Hot Slot Machine with the help of Gerdes Chessman - an LP that was far beyond both its time and his youthful years.

Striving to imitate the heavy house sounds inbound from the UK and America, artists like Blackbox and Ten City became big influences. Hot Slot Machine radiates with those impressions, providing something unique in South Africa in the early ‘90s. Leaning more into house and hip hop than the disco-flavoured bubblegum rhythms, the tracks were richer in sound, heavier on the synths and powered by rattling basslines.

Undeniably infectious and unquestionably well put together, the album contains six hits and no misses. With the chunky hip house grooves of ‘Rhythm’, ‘Unchain My Heart’ and ‘Shake Ya Down’, running side by side with the low slung, magnetic bounce of ‘Lookin’ Mix’, ‘I’ll Be Ready’ and ‘Lovin’ Mix’.

Sadly the tapes were long lost, so the wizards Sean P and Justin Drake ripped and restored the album, with Justin giving it a well-deserved remaster. Licensed from Gallo with the blessing of Makhosini, this truly must-have LP now comes complete with a printed inner sleeve housing liner notes and never-before-seen photography.

His remix on this EP is sure to captivate fans with his signature musicality.

Fragments of Us, the 13-track debut album from DJ/Producer Midland will arrive in stores physically in Vinyl, CD & Tape format and across all digital and streaming outlets on October 4th, 2024. The album comes via Midland’s own imprint, Graded. The cover art is a photo by his brother Dom Agius, and the type and graphics are by longtime friend and designer, Nick Shea.

Alongside the announcement, Midland has shared the lead single ‘Never Enough’.

Casinoboy makes a triumphant return to Duca Bianco with a sparkling EP that once again shows his studio mastery. Previously featuring alongside luminaries like Rune Lindbaek and Khidja on a well-received compilation, Casinoboy's latest kicks off with 'Honesty' which is a blend of Balearic and breaks that brings a shuffle-and-wiggle experience with uplifting samples and an old-school UK rap edge. 'This Feeling' has a catchy Street Soul feel, while 'Searos' mixes up ambient sounds and Spanish Guitar to evoke the essence of the White Isle. The enigmatic Ukrainian label Jerelo presents a 4-track vinyl-only EP by the talented Greek producer Cirkel Square. Each track on the release is like an antique sculpture — exquisite, graceful, and made with attention to every small detail. This comparison is not accidental, as Cirkel Square dedicated each of the four “sinister harmonies” to one of the gods of ancient Greek mythology. The opening track, “Kronos Reckoning”, with its new-age melodies bristling with pathos, carries the spirit of the greatness of the age of Titans, frozen between the dense bricks of a micro-house beat. “Hades Symphony” and "Persephone's Whisper" are inspired by existential reflections, while “Ares Beat” surprises with an inventive pseudo-acid drop.

The Malevolent Harmonies EP features tracks perfect for the dance floor, especially when played on a high-quality PA system. Despite each track's unique style, the EP as a whole is surprisingly cohesive. Just as the mentioned gods in the EP are related to each other, the

DC Salas returns to his own Higher Hopes imprint for their third edition via the collaborative project Los Niños Del Parque with Anthony Barbarich (aka Mirror Minds), a release 15 years in the making.

The Los Niños Del Parque project came about due to the duo's mutual musical background & influence: 2000's electroclash, early electro house, new wave, new beat, and more. The idea is to produce something playful and true to the duo's roots. The EP was over four years in the making due to various obstacles, the title 'Frequencias Eternas' (Eternal Frequencies) tells the story of two long-time friends, connected to each other in one way or another.

The release is rounded off with a remix by the talented Badaboum & Rinse France resident Belaria.

The Kolony Gorky label hits release number four just a year after debuting last summer. This one again comes from DDrhode and opens with 'Ghoroob' which is a super nice and icy deep dub roller with smeared pads and heady ambient vibes. The dub slows things down and adds even more bottomless dub depths. 'DD2' (Sohrab dub) is a warm, peaker number but still very much a late-night and backroom jam and the Down The Rhode version of the A1 is a conscious classic with deep meaning and deeper rhythms.

Eversines returns to Nous'klaer Audio with a bouncing four-tracker EP. Warm acid lines laced with shimmering pads on top of electro-leaning drums. A versatile release to bring in the bag for club-nights and outdoor morning sessions. Full of feelings and always grooving.

They describe their music as "Memories of the Future," the motto of their brand Nazca.

As DJs, they’ve performed at the world’s best clubs and festivals, bringing their unique sound across the globe, holding residencies from Ibiza to London, and creating countless underground hits.

They are in top form once again with this latest journeying EP, where Los Suruba and their label Nazca return to vinyl releases, featuring two new remixers for this vinyl edition of the ‘+33 EP’.
