The Take It Easy label returns with a red one and limited edition one-sided 12" that features a Bugsy 'ReDrum' of Wema's 'Kiherehere' cut. The original artists are a five-piece Tanzanian outfit founded on community and they have a global approach to sound that plays out here.

In Bugsy's hands, it becomes a club-ready cut that fuses house and techno with the original's traditional Tanzanian instrumentals and Afro-Latin rhythms. Add in a fiery vocal and the sort of unrelenting drum funk that sends crowds mad and you have another standout from this fledgling label.

Keep Marching is the opening number from Baggy Leggins and Duke Hobo, it is a captivating oddity that head nods out of winter to the very essence of spring, with a marching beat and the joy of breathy vocals intrinsically entwined with acoustic guitar and a splash of Rhodes.

The expansive universe of Shuffleupaguss is a progressive latin party fed through the clanger’s mystery of vibes machine, Bass carries the rhythm of housed pinata funk into A 1950'S rave held by Liberace and what not on the cuica.

Electronic music's brightest rising star, Germany’s 28-year old Berlin based producer and live act Ben Böhmer has had another monumental year. His debut album ‘Breathing’, released on Anjunadeep at the end of 2019, has since attained over 65 million streams. A string of other singles and remixes for Anjunadeep, Future Classic and Hungry Music have seen Ben become a mainstay in the flagship Electronic playlists and Beatport 100, drawing admirers from across the Electronic music spectrum; including Stephan Bodzin, Bob Moses and Boris Brejcha, who pronounced Ben as his ‘Breakthrough Artist of 2020’. Away from his releases Ben headlined two of the most talked about livestreams of the past 12 months. His Cercle performance recorded entirely from a hot air balloon 3,000ft above the Turkish desert has quickly become one of their most successful streams to date, with over 10 million views in the first 6 months. He followed this up by becoming the first artist to perform a live set for German YouTube and Netflix sensation, Kliemannsland. Ben’s flurry of activity and success throughout the past year have cemented his place among fans and critics alike as ‘the’ Electronic artist to watch as he prepares for the release of his second album ‘Begin Again’ on Anjunadeep this September. ‘Begin Again’ sees Ben delve deeper into alternative Electronica alongside a list of higher profile Indie collaborators, whilst still delivering a number of his trademark melodic house tracks. The album was written entirely during a period where Ben and his fiancé were separated on other sides of the world due to the global travel ban. The emotions that this entailed are laden throughout its sonic textures and songwriting. ‘Begin Again’ seamlessly cascades from laidback and introspective instrumentals to searing and rich club music, with elevating features from Gordi, lau.ra, PBSR and JONAH that perfectly portray the longing and uncertainty that surround his love life at the time. As the world slowly re-emerges from its slumber and returns to normality, Ben and his fiancé are now living together in Berlin, giving them, like many of us, the chance to reset, start anew and Begin Again.

Boaksi’s first EP “Under the Pavilion” builds upon the productions of his debut album by featuring a combination of more club oriented elements together, often characterised by layered synth patterns, breaks and textured percussion. As the second release on Small Steps, Boaksi looks to create an ethereal and refined sound to follow the labels dreamy ambience. Sometimes melancholic, sometimes upbeat. The EP reminds us with its mellow vocals of warm bright summer days.

Returning fresh off of his last project 'Goes On EP', Darone is back with another 12". This time, his project pays homage to two places which he calls home. A juxtaposition of his birthplace, Los Angeles, and where he feels a strong connection, Armenia. The A-Side features 'Dance of the Sun Worshipers', which was written with the petroglyphs of Ughtasar and the Armenian Stonehenges of Syunik in mind. The henges in question were set as an astronomical observation tool to view the Milky Way Galaxy by the ancient natives of the land.

Parts of the petroglyphs have carvings of beings dancing around a wheel of fire. A representation of the Sun or early signs of the Armenian Eternity Wheel. The B-Side features 'Far Away' by Sassounian and a remix of the same track by Byron The Aquarius. Far Away was written at the height of lockdown, with a local collective of the same name in mind.

Operating as a cassette label, mixtape series, and party, Far Away was based in Los Angeles, run by Cooper Saver and Jen Ferrer. Darone would frequently attend their events in Los Angeles and find comfort in a community that he can call home. On remix duties, Byron The Aquarius delivers a raw and chuggy tip to Darone's track, 'Far Away'. A dub of the original, Byron programs this one into a full and thick driving force for the dance floor and the heads. This is Rocky Hill.

NM2 welcomes Paul Ursin from Sicily with a storming 4tracker.

London/Florida based Red Ant label owner Pete Bones presents his 3rd solo artist album, and first to appear on vinyl. Bones, infamous for his 90s Ugly Bug moniker 'The Shaker', and responsible for the club classics Just Lick It, Strong to Survive and Mooncat, has refined his creative output over the years and is now synonymous for his eclectic but unmistakable dark disco and indie house production and DJ sets worldwide.

Recorded entirely during Lockdown, the 7 track LP spans Bones' ubiquitous electronic styles, encompassing some deep nu-disco grooves and indie jams along with some more serious tech-house dancefloor intention. Released November 2020, on what would have been the start of a US wide album release tour, Bone Idyll kicks off with the luscious 5th on Fifth, a mid-tempo Sunrise special, then goes more party vibe with the bouncy Tinderella. She Sells Sea Shells is a more languid melancholic groove, reminiscent of late sunny evenings on a Balearic beach, and the A side is finished off with Squarecrow, the toughest cut on the album, warehouse vibes.

The B side opens with the fabulous Chinook Sister, indie dance homage to the indigenous tribes of the N Pacific islands, slides into the growling downtempo Revelation, featuring the sublime percussive talent of Patrick Dawes, former Groove Armada beats maker. The album is finished off with Bones' remix of the Talking Heads classic, Psycho Killer. Causing mayhem on many a live stream dancefloor this Autumn!

The distances and limitations resulting from the lockdown become the starting point for Sara to communicate a message to everyone through the groove and the lyrics of her first track “The Heart Knows”, played by C. Robert Walker. Mood Child unleashes Sirus Hood and Trangaz’s ‘Ghetto Corazon’ EP, a blazing fusion of African, Latino, and Asian influences.

Label father Sirus Hood and Mood Child favourite Trangaz join forces to craft two original bangers, ‘Ghetto Corazon’ and ‘Boothy’, while Manda Moor, Mood Child's mother, spices things up with two different versions of remixes of the second track.

‘Ghetto Corazon’ is one of those tracks that ignites the dancefloor and highlights a DJ set. It’s primal, unique, tribal, and groovy. It has a Techno vibe with its high BPM and killer kick drum that has the power to tremble any dancefloor.
We can sense the Latin roots with the Spanish vocal singing "mi corazon" and the African flair with its broken swing percussion pattern.

‘Boothy’ is a playful acid-led tune enhanced by a unique hi-hat game, with vocals from Trangaz himself talking about the DJ booth adventures. The vocal depicts situations that are bound to happen in any club.

Manda Moor delivers two different remixes of ‘Boothy’: a ‘Punchy’ and a ‘Spicy’ remix. Her ‘Punchy’ rendition is vinyl only and adds a dirty punch to the original, while her ‘Spicy’ version has all the essence of the ‘Manda Moor groove’ - an addictive drum pattern with her unique style that is recognised right away. She is known for her picante sound, adding the perfect spice to this EP.

This release showcases the best of the heat from three minds with different roots. An irresistible melting pot, with early supports from all stars like the king Carl Cox and The Martinez Brothers.

In a secret laboratory in an unknown location, two lifeforms not of this world were at work.

Based on previous experiments, it was understood that when the two life forms were left alone together, they could create various elements from nothing, somehow communicating with each other what was needed through a sophisticated type of Internal Transmission.

As scientists watched and took notes, the lifeforms sat on the floor across from each other. They did not talk. They did not move. They simply sat, doing the impossible. The atmosphere began to transform and one lifeform produced Gold, Arsenic, Carbon, and Radium. Almost simultaneously, the other conjured up Oxygen, Mercury, Nitrogen, and Neon.

The elements swirled in the air until they finally combined. The result was astonishing. It was the exact same compound the lifeforms had been discovered with when they crash landed on Earth some 22 months before. A compound never seen before.

More Recently It's Been Possible To Hear Appleblim Delve Into Electro-acoustic And Ambient Production Alongside Bassweight Sounds On Tempa, One Of The Original Bastions Of Dubstep Culture. As The Existing Boundaries Between Genres, Cultures, Eras And Scenes Continue To Dissolve, On His Debut Album Appleblim Offers Up A Fresh Approach That Brings Some Of The Foundational Sound Ethics Of Rave Culture Into A Modern Framework.

Courtesy of Balance is a stamp of deep house authenticity no matter who is behind the beats. In this case, we have a debut appearance from Cordoba-based Argentinian Castoldi.

He kicks off with 'Make Me Feel' with lashings of Detroit house stylings and bouncy chord sequences getting you in the groove. 'Tribute To Kerri' has kicks the New Jersey house don would be proud of with plenty of smooth synth additions and then 'Those Nights' is an eight-minute odyssey with crisp percussion and rattling dub chords. A timeless 12" for sure.

DAWL is a champion in the studio with releases on many top tier labels including Tone Dropout, Further Electronix and Klasse Wrecks. His EP on the Acid Boom’s sister label Amen brother was our biggest seller of 2022 on the label.

Acid Boom is about capturing that early 90’s acid sound before it transitioned to rave. Raw warehouse vibes using many Roland machines during the production process (and plug ins!) This is authentic acid music that was made by kids in their bedrooms, pushing their equipment to extremes it was never originally intended for. That is why we made contact with DAWL as he grew up from that era and could emerge himself completely into the writing process to make it fully retro.

The fast-rising Purveyor Underground Ltd kicks on again here with a sizzling seventh EP that is as rude as they come - in both meanings of the word - from Die Familia. It is his own East Side Gangster remix of 'U Dat Bitch' that kicks off with hard-hitting house kicks and sleazy vocals over a rugged bassline. 'House Music' (part 1 - Late Night edit) is just as raw but more deep and hypnotic with its ascending synth lines and steamy vocal coos. 'Organic (Like Weird)' might be the best of the lot - a quick and urgent house thumper with silky hi-hats and rolling bass getting you up on your toes amidst swirling pads and a melange of vocals.

Producer and DJ MES (aka Jason Sutton) is the man behind the Guesthouse label out of California and has overseen it serving up more than 100 releases. His own music is never far away from influential charts and record bags and now he serves up a funky number packed with soul samples. 'Soul Glow' kicks off with playful drum loops and filters, a neat bassline and infectious claps. 'Party People' has a more edgy feel with silvery drums and tumbling congas while 'Homage' is the most raw and direct and possibly the best of the lot with its chunky drums and razor-sharp hi-hats.

One of electronic music s greats steps back into the limelight with his first EP in more than 10 years. Erik Van Den Broek, the Dutch producer who is probably better known under some of his pseudonyms such as Shiver, Essit Musique and Acid Kid dominated the 90s with a slew of brilliant acid and electro releases on Dance Arena Productions and Shiver. Erik was a firm favourite of Dave Clarke and Laurent Garnier who included some of his tracks on their perfectly blended mix CDs (X-Mix Electro Boogie and Laboratoire Mix respectively).
Erik already made an appearance on De:tuned s 5 Years box set in 2014 with the track Primerose and now he s back with more previously unreleased material. The tracks on offer are all on a deeper tip, with warm yet slightly eerie and mysterious sounds, clever programming and subtle effects. Proof that Erik has still got it after all these years. These tracks were made during an emotional time for Erik, something that is clearly reflected in the music.
Once again we enlisted Alan Oldham for artwork duties and Matt Colton for mastering the source material to perfection. This EP will be available on 180 gr vinyl. A digital release will also be available from all the usual outlets. De:tuned are honoured to have worked with Erik on this release, a very personal record for him. The Saint Wax Edit Service is back with another fine helping of disco goodness to keep those dance floors nourished this summer and beyond. 'Candela' opens up with a lung-busting and intoxicating vocal over organic drums while 'Chevere Africa' has a warm Afro feel to its upbeat and celebratory disco beats complete with big horns. 'Ledile' gets even more party starting with its jazzy lines and funky bass work and then things slow down on 'Mameye,' a more steamy and languid affair but still one with plenty of big horn charm. Useful tackle, this.

The follow up to 'Sun Circles' is here: 'Jour De Fete' (French for "day of celebration") is a sweltering slab of festive inner city disco of the highest order. Flip the record for a mighty, extended dub by cult hero Conrad McDonnell of Idjut Boys fame. 'Nuff said.

Up next, Marginal Returns is happy to finally unveil Gwenan’s debut EP. Already familiar to many via her DJ sets at various notable events over the past years - from festival main-stage techno to backroom boutique ambient - 2023 finally raises the curtain on Gwenan’s studio output.

Activation Energy presents an elegant, particular and personable take on rhythmic electronic music, taking in A1’s downtempo, dub shrouded ‘Rhythm Delay’, the sneakily effective plucked lilt of A2 ‘Foundation’, the contemplative, emotive glide of B1 ‘Control Change’ and B2 ‘Attention Movement’s brooding syncopation.
