La Matta Records proudly presents the First Official Reissue of the unique LP made by Stani Labonia, an Italian Soul-Funk masterpiece originally released in 1978 on Vincenzo Micocci’s It/RCA label. This rare album recorded in Naples, finally comes out after more than 40 years, carefully restored from the original tape. Among the talented musicians who worked in the recording of this album we can find names as Jenny Sorrenti of “Saint Just”, Gaio Chiocchio founding member of “Pierrot Lunaire”, Enzo Avitabile and Gianni Guarracino, former “Città Frontale” but most importantly this LP boasts the courtesy arrangement of Pino Daniele in: La Prossima Donna. Labonia, whose real name is Stanislao Smiraglia, is from Bolzano but lived most of his life in Naples, collaborating with the main musicians of that city. He cou ld be compared with the best of the Italian scene, with strong funk and Latin influences. So this is a rare italian gem to anyone interested in Latin Jazz-Funk & Soul. Fully remastered.

One vinyl, two tracks, three artists. This is how the latest VA from
Zimbru could be summed up.
On side A we have a driving mysterious groove amped up by the sexy bassline and the deep moody atmosphere. Sahau's track is immersed in an electro eclectism that is meant to be subtle and dynamic at the same time. This was recorded live and it's pressed as it was.
Side B is the dark side for sure. This time it's only Kozo and Dan Andrei (ak41) and their rendering is a hypnotic 12 minute long piece layered with a multitude of sounds ranging from the crickets and jungle birds to the more electronic bubbly and metallic tones. It's named after Paul who had already left the building when this was recorded.

Four more certified stompers from the Moxy Muzik camp with the fifth release in their Editions series seeing Sydney Charles, Phil Weeks, Mene and Syrossian all providing the goods.
Up first, Sidney Charles’ ‘House To Heal’ was first played by Charles at Darius Syrossian's sold out Moxy OFF sonar pool party in Barcelona, Sidney's opening track, the place erupted, Darius signed it on the spot! Only a few hours old, the track was getting its first play, with Darius subsequently spinning it in New York and Hideout festival to a deluge of ID requests.
Next the French maestro Phil Weeks lays down ‘Superfly’ a slick, smooth, funk-flavoured groove topped off with the perfect party starting sample. Exactly the kind of top shelf business you would expect from Mr Weeks.
On the flip, Syrossian merges ‘90s UK garage and US house vibes for ‘Right There’. Chuck in a pure diva vocal and a stomping trademark kick and you have a fierce driving dancefloor belter with support from a whole host of DJs on the circuit.
Mene - No Me Impolta closes out the EP written by the two Serbian producers that have been making waves lately, Mene & ACA (YU). A Latin-inspired groover, that’s received massive support from Loco Dice and Jamie Jones, with both making this an anthem of their parties in Ibiza last summer, after receiving upfront copies from Darius.
DJ Support:
Loco Dice, Jamie Jones, Phill Weeks, Darius Syrossian, Sydney Charles, Mene

Welcome to ‘Instrumental Dubs #2’, a deep dive into the world of the Dub version and beyond. The A side has a distinct boogie feel, starting slow with a George Kerr produced cut from 1984 followed by a Brit Funk-esq instrumental from Harold Melvin & the Bluenotes originally released on the Philly World label (home to ‘Voice of Q’). The B side closes with the ‘Sweeter’ instrumental mix of Boogie bomb ‘Loving Sweet Devotion’ by Idiater Edwards.
The B side opens with ‘H2S04’ from Mad Professor that defies categorisation, sitting somewhere between Electro, Disco and Dub. Last but by no means least there’s an uptempo Dub mix of Original Rockers ‘Push Push’ making its first appearance on Vinyl having only been on the CD single release first time around.

Bunker New York luminary Abby Echiverri joins the Patterns of Perception imprint with her Deformation EP, a diverse collection of playfully psychedelic techno tracks infused with a radiant cosmic energy.
Produced in 2021-22, Abby drew inspiration from the captivating physics simulations her partner was working on at the time, ultimately imbuing the music with an ethereal atmosphere that permeates the entire EP, and from which the tracks derive their names.
PTN03 presents a cohesive yet diverse collection of tracks, blending psychedelic energy with delicate and profound moments. Abby's music carries an almost hopeful quality, with drum programming that leans towards groove and shuffle, and the incorporation of diminished chords and progressions that pose questions to the listener. The Deformation EP is an intricate record that showcases Abby Echiverri's distinctive, three-dimensional approach to techno: one that never feels oppressive, but calls to mind a sense of exploration and freedom.

We’ve rarely listened to anything funkier by Alessandro Alessandroni. Walking the line between disco and jazz-funk, our beloved Maestro penned the two irresistibly groovy gems in this release slightly before his blaxploitation-inspired soundtrack to Sangue di sbirro, and there are indeed similarities here – the horn and rhythm sections, as well as pianist Enrico Pieranunzi’s jazz phrasing.
Taken from the soundtrack to an obscure 1975 Italian film, Elio Bartolini’s L’Altro Dio, these two instrumentals might have remained in oblivion were it not that Four Flies rescued and included them in the compilations Esterno Notte and Esterno Giorno, both of which sold out quickly and have become almost impossible to find. It seemed more than proper now to release them for the first time ever on 7” – perhaps the format which best suits them – as part of our Four Flies 45s series of rare Italian grooves.

A re-issue of this timeless italo ballad produced by Italian percussionist Massimo Pacciani. The song was recorded in 1984 in Marzio Bennelli’s studio in Florence with an Oberheim OB-X, Yamaha DX7, Marzio on guitar and the great vocals of Riccardo Galardini. They took inspiration from Flashdancers – Maniac (an italo cover of Michael Sembello’s ‘Maniac’) which they recorded the same day in Bennelli’s studio. Remastered from original master tapes.

The new EP on It’s a Pleasure imprint is conceived as a kaleidoscope of Jaisiel’s previous releases where pop and house converge in a seamless embrace.
A side is all about the infectious radio hit “Nada Que Ver” and its mesmerizing Remix by Lipelis who made its magic to turn the original track into a super fun and dynamic certified dance floor journey, where thick bass frequencies and classic M1 organ bass sounds will take you on a trip alongside Jaisiel’s hypnotic voice.

Once again here Phil Weeks has cooked up an instant classic with Charlie Sputnik. Just pure love for the French West Coast House Connection! <3

After having explored our native Switzerland in search of nuggets, we extended our research and came across a goldmine in the south of France. For our 4th release we welcome Soyouz and Groenogen on the imprint for a masterful split EP. On side A Soyouz brings to the table two progressive yet powerful cuts, heavily inspired by 90’s sounds balanced with delicately designed synth lines packed with slick drums as well as robotic voices that make his signature sound. On the B side Groenogen delivers two very powerful tracks. He gives us heavy hitting, driving basslines and extremely smart and sharp synth leads and show us a glimpse of a moody and acid side of his persona. Both tracks showcase his mastery of technical and energetic arrangement. The two French boys deliver a dancefloor wrecking record straight from Toulouse, not to be missed I tell you!
Takuya Matsumoto's tribute to the heydaze with four beautifully crafted tracks. Touching all the bases of influence from the early years of House Music. This EP takes us all the way back...

Tony Boninsegna: Notes From The Underground 1986-1994 (Volumes 1 and 2) Cold Blow / Musique Pour La Danse
The story of dance music is littered with hidden heroes and underground activists whose immense contributions have been overlooked, ignored and under-documented. Tony Boninsegna, a producer who made and released countless classic cuts and forgotten gems during the acid house and rave era, is one such example.
Melding elements of all that was popular in underground clubs at the time to create his own dancefloor-friendly sound worlds, Boninsegna amassed a huge catalogue between 1986 and '94, while hiding his involvement via an array of oddball aliases and opaque pseudonyms. Boninsegna's story first came to light four years ago when he appeared in Join The Future: Bleep Techno and the Birth of British Bass Music, Matt Anniss's critically acclaimed alternative history of UK dance music in the rave era. Now Cold Blow has joined forces with Musique Pour La Danse to deliver a much-needed anthology of his greatest productions and
co-productions - many rare or hard-to-find - for the first time.
Featuring 24 restored and remastered tracks stretched across two volumes on vinyl and digital, including a handful of previously unreleased tracks and mixes, and accompanied by detailed sleeve notes by Anniss, Notes From The Underground 1986-1994 is a joyful celebration of one of British dance music's most under-appreciated artists. The full breadth and depth of Boninsegna's rave-ready catalogue, as well as an indication of
the sheer volume of aliases he utilised during the period, is explored in detail across the two-part compilation.
Fittingly, volume one features two previously unreleased recordings that mark his earliest explorations of the emerging house sound (both as The Rhythm Squad, with Richard Compton), alongside touchstone releases such as Zeco's 'The Witch Trials' (a 1989 production that marked his first outing on vinyl), celebrated workouts recorded with regular collaborator Mykey Tee (Lab Technicians' bleep-inspired 'We Gave U Life', Big Showdown's epic 'They're Here' and AEK's mind-mangling, bleep & breaks number 'Lick It'), and genuinely overlooked gems (the proto-tribal house of Pierrepoint's acid-smothered 'Tonnerre' and saucer-eyed rush of Estudiantes' 'Let The Music Into Your Mind').
It all adds up to the definitive musical retrospective of a genuine underground, rave-era hero whose time in the spotlight may finally have arrived.

The 4th release is about the 6th district of Paris, and we're really glad to have on the first side, two brothers of the team, Max Cohle and Quatri aka Konalgad for his personal first release on vinyl.
Max Cohle's track is founded on two different grooves, dubby and acid, that matches perfectly together.
Quatri's one is an acid minimal track with a lot of energy and a progression that will blow your mind.
On the other hand, we're really proud to have one of our favorite artists and a really good friend, Mister Beneath Usual, that has an impressive carrier with this patronym but that we'd also always loved for his worldwide known trance projects. His track is a groovy minimal one in reference to the concrete music originally thought by Pierre Schaeffer.
After him is Olivier Romero, an underground Dj of the parisian scene that had been here for many years, and that's known by so many in the game. 'Odé on Ice' has a great melody that stays in mind for several days and fits magically the groove of the rythmics.
Finally we welcome the young Leo Leyzerowitz with his wonderful and powerful track 'Saint Suplice' that continually grows with the groove.

"WOLF Music" offer up something a little different to their usual tip, enlisting the warm dusty reverberations of four-piece, jazz-not-jazz collective Velour for a 7" of hazy, genre traversing rhythms. Alongside being producer for the Velour project, long-standing member of the WOLF pack Mr. Fries gives his own distinctive house touch to the flip side remix.
Perfectly capturing the new school of jazz, Essen-based Velour crisscross genres drawing on elements from each yet anchoring their roots in the richness of jazz’s deft melodies and percussive touches. Head-nodding down the open road, ‘Pose’ is that undeniably soulful, first swig of summer many tracks strive to be. Morphing into a woozy affair as the sun sets midway through, Velour’s songwriting talent well outstrips their years. Throw WOLF pack member Mr. Fries into the mix, kneading in his signature production style and the freshly baked result straddles the intersection between jazz, broken beat, house and soul.
Fries then takes on remix duties for the flip, maintaining that dusty demeanour yet going for a full frontal Moodymann-esque house interpretation. The smokey jazz bar sax, background hustle and weighty beat make for a summertime heater served straight from
the grill, garnished just right with Mr. Fries own vocals over the top.

Channeling the same dense Ambient and Noise music derivatives now characteristic of the artist’s work, Fluid Motion offers a powerful snapshot of an artist in full control of their craft. Emotive and considered, the work presents as many delicate sound design intricacies as it does moments of caustic maximalism.
Cohesive and textured in equal measure, Fluid Motion arrives on cassette and digital formats mid 2021, with an accompanying zine featuring blown out imagery inspired by the music and shot during Winter 2021 in the industrial region of Eastern Finland and the countryside near the border with Russia.
