It s been 7 years since I introduced the first part of this series -Mis Hermanos Rumanos- with Sepp and later (Part 2) with Faster and Nu Zau. Seven years later the saga of Romanian brothers grows and continues, it is a pleasure to be able to bring together two good friends and talented artists from the great and already proliferating minimal scene of this country. In this third part we can find a darker and percussive sound, acoustic string instruments and at the same time maintaining the minimalist essence that characterizes Acmé. I hope you enjoy this third installment, we really appreciate your support with the purchase of this record, it is very important for us to be able to continue investing in this quality format. Beste Modus, we_r_house and Unison Wax co-founder Cinthie launches her new imprint Crystalgrooves this October with three raw House cuts.

Berlin's Cinthie has long been a respected figure in the underground electronic music scene of Berlin and further afield, heading up the Beste Modus and we_r_house imprints, as well as Unison Wax alongside Diego Krause amongst holding a residency at the infamous Watergate club in her hometown and recently opening her new record store in Friedrichshain, Elevate. It's clear to see electronic music scene plays a huge part in Cinthie's life and here we see her adding another label to her already impressive coterie of imprints, namely 803 Crystalgrooves, a platform for her own material edging towards more classic, raw House sounds in contrast to the deeper more stripped back sounds heard across the other labels. Leading on the package is the anthemic heavy hitter 'Together', a heady House groove fuelled by a filtered, funk-infused bass line, bright organ chords and bumpy 909 drums, the result is an emotive slice of peak-time house to kick start the EP.x 'Ada Lovelace' follows and tips the focus over to dusty, swinging drum sounds and an amalgamation of choppy disco string and vocal samples all intricately programmed to create a dynamic dance floor workout. 'No Need To Worry' then rounds out the package with murky bass tones, wandering stab sequences and stripped-back shuffled percussion to close the package on a more dark and brooding tip.

20 year old Utrecht based producer Julian Alexander steps up for the next release in Infuse with a ep of raw house grooves.
Sweet Rain kicks things off, its deeply rounded bass and swung percussion imbuing the track with a real sense of groove.
Cabin Fever continues the vibe whilst Present brings a sense of warmth, an undulating pad lending the track a more blissed out feel whilst Straight furrows a tougher path with a dirtier warehouse kick and metallic percussion.

"The art of the remix has been around for several decades, from the fervid imaginations of JA pioneers like Coxsone Dodd, Duke Reid or King Tubby to the disco enthusiasts of New York, such as Tom Moulton, who bequeathed us the modern iteration of the remix and provided a template from which most remixers still work. Moulton's first commercial remix, a reworking of BT Express' appropriately-named `Do It 'Till You're Satisfied', which stretched it from three minutes to a luxurious five, assisted the band in securing its first Billboard R&B Number One, as well as providing a pathway for remixers like Walter Gibbons, Larry Levan, Richie Rivera and Tee Sott, to completely reinvent the concept of a remix (and in some instances, deconstructing the idea of what comprised a song). It has subsequently been used as a marketing tool, a dancefloor-devastator, a gimmick (both cheap and expensive) or even as a way of reaching a different audience (think Tori Amos' `Professional Widow'). Khruangbin are no slouches when it comes to the remix themselves. They've been reworked before, in 2016, with the highly collectible EP on Boogiefuturo. But this time, they're taking it a step further with an album dedicated to the art. Entering the tight-knit world of a Khruangbin song can be a little daunting. They have created this entire universe in which the trio seem to function telepathically in the way the music is composed, arranged and played. To mess with their delicate eco-system can invoke feelings similar to that of an unwanted guest crashing a good-time party. "We write our music to be interpreted; this is another wonderful interpretation of the music," reassure Khruangbin. "There is something very vulnerable about letting others work on your music. But through the correspondence with the different artists, we gained a bigger connection to the songs themselves." The choice of remixers for this album is neither arbitrary nor accidental. They're not names picked randomly out of a hat or chosen via a throw of the dice. All have some connection to the band, sometimes personal friendships, musical connections, or simply mutual musical appreciation. Harvey Sutherland and Ginger Roots have both toured with the band, Kadhja Bonet and Ron Trent had their own mutual fan club going on, Knxwledge sampled `White Gloves' on a recent mixtape, Natasha Diggs and Soul Clap's Eli's are recent buddy-ups, Quantic is a mutual friend of Bonobo (crucial in the KB origin story), while I've known Laura for number of years; plus she is also godmother to one of Felix Dickinson's kids. Doesn't get much more intimate than that, right? Some of these remixes were specifically made so you can dance your ass off while getting down to the Khruangbin sound, while some might better be appreciated horizontally with headphones on, wearing fashionably loose clothes. The choice is yours. But all were made with love and respect for Khruangbin. "A good remix deconstructs, recontextualizes, or simply extends a good time," say the band. "Killer edits!" - Gilles Peterson

Monologues boss Ben Gomori has found acclaim far and wide with his official edits of African gems for labels like Sterns Music and Analog Africa (for artists including Orchestra Baobab, Amadou Balake, Oby Onyioha). Here he rounds up four of his reworks of tasty tracks from artists across the Afro-Caribbean spectrum on four edits licensed from the good folk at Mr. Bongo, Soundway Records and Analog Africa.

South African legends Marumo's joyous 'Khomo Tsaka Deile Kae' gets a good juicing, full of triumphant energy, while Black Truth Band's infectious 'Umbala' is stripped back to a slinky, bumping disco groove. An exuberant slice of 1980s Camerooon comes from Emmanuel Kahe Et Jeanette Kemogne on 'Ye Medjuie', where rousing trumpet refrains meet undulating bass funk. Peter Britto's gorgeous lo-fi soca anthem 'I Want Your Love' rounds off the package, its sweet melancholy given an extra bit of energy for maximum dancefloor effect.

Pleasure of Love reissue imprint, New Islands, is back with another stunning restoration of a sought-after 12” gem. Originally produced by Paul Robb of Information Society in 1987, Venus II emerged as an otherworldly girl group in the Minneapolis scene. The mysterious duo wrote, programmed/sequenced, and performed everything live in the studio and on stage, including their local hit “Oh Boy.” Over the years, balearic heads have come to know and love this rare 12”. Now New Islands, sourcing from the original multi-track tapes, delivers a wicked, lush reissue of the original songs along with a pair of Justin Strauss remixes. Recommended if you like Nu Shooz, Tom Tom Club, and Torch Song.

First up is the Freeze Mix, which brings emotional intensity and heavy low ends, then there's a flashy dub before Kameo & Nonfiction's original mix layers loose toms and elastic bass with disco synth colour. Terry also serves up a peak time house rework, Jon Lee & Ramiro bring a tribal twist with their mix and Blakkat's extended mix is a more tech edge affair. A fine way to mark 20 releases.

With their debut EP Brotherhood, the duo Blue Vision makes a strong entrance. Bright, euphoric and built for dancing, it would have fit right in during those unforgettable Ibiza mornings.

Closing the EP on a more introspective note, Post Operation feels like slowly waking from a dream. Club-ready percussion and a powerful kick contrast beautifully with spacious, melodic pads. It’s a delicate balance of softness and lightness, a thoughtful way to end the journey.

At 19, Helviofox adds his signature to the batida template that by now seems to have been in existence since forever. Such is the strength of this primordial fountain, a source of rejuvenation. Also within the literal family: Helvio cites brothers Dadifox and Erycox as main influences.

Curiosity for the sound made him go into production by the time he was 13. A couple of years later (2020) he became co-founder of TLS with E8Prod, Alberfox, DiionyG and other mates. His talent fully developed since then, opening a slight detour that became a new path parallel to the main road.

Lively basslines anchor the beat directly lifted from tradition and clearly channeled to the dancefloor. Strong, well rounded grooves, a spot-on sense of timing and tempo, elegant atmospheres, all part of Helvio's notion of arrangement and his perception of dance music boundaries, stretching them just enough to present a challenge but not as far as to disconnect head and feet and risk losing the floor.

Hot Cargo was a fresh project Richie Weeks was developing with Salsoul Records around 1982–83, right at the height of New York City’s Post-Disco and Boogie Funk explosion. These two versions were recorded at the legendary Right Track Studios, with an all-star lineup of top-tier disco and funk musicians.

Had it seen the light of day back then, there’s little doubt that What’s In It For Me would have become a staple at Larry Levan’s Paradise Garage—and yet another major hit in Richie Weeks’ unstoppable run.

Second Horizon is the follow up album of his very successful debut album "Heartware", that has been voted as album of the year by more than 23.000 readers of FAZE Magazine. The twelve tracks are inspired by 80s music styles EBM, Italo, Acid, Electro and Dark Wave and produced with a lot of original equipment from that era transferred into 2025. The album is also inspired by his relocation to Berlin, and the music reflects this shift, balancing gritty, industrial influences with shimmering, retro-futuristic tones.

It's ten up for Ira James's so-far-so-superb Vessel Recordings Group label as the duo of Nonfiction and Kid Enigma step up for a fresh new single. 'Make It Look Good' is an instant house classic with all the key elements nailed: the drums are deep but driving, while the percussion adds texture and bite. And who better to add some further layers of house authenticity than the one and only Chicago don DJ Sneak. First up he goes raw and loop as you would expect, then dubs things out with his second offering. Another doozy from this imprint.

We’re back in the groove with the next instalment of our 45s, where killer music always wins over oddball cover art. This time we’re serving up a Balearic, under-the-radar sunset jam from obscure Belgian outfit North South East West. Soulful, warm, and effortlessly cool, it’s the kind of track that makes you want to quit your job and move to somewhere hotter.

To stretch out the magic, we called on Peckham’s finest, Medlar, who turns in a dubbed-out, spacey flip that sends the original into orbit. It’s deep, trippy, and built for the mix — you’ll want two copies just to keep it going.

Parisian production duo Radio Cargo steamroll onto Shall Not Fade with the killer 'Like You Move' EP!

Like You Move EP showcases why the Paris duo are one of the most exciting names to watch in the current French dance music scene, their debut for Shall Not Fade is a luscious blend of groovy breaks, dreamy synths and warm basslines, all merging together to create a stunning body of work.

A noughties classic, an earworming anthem, an eventual schoolyard ringtone favourite; Roman Flügel’s once inescapable ‘Geht’s Noch?’ celebrates turning 21 on Running Back, refreshed and remixed by a scene-spanning set of artists paying keen tribute to its absurdist energy.
Casually released as part of a Cocoon Records compilation in 2004, ‘Geht’s Noch?’ rose from the depths with the support of Sven Väth, becoming an international phenomenon, conquering and uniting the dominant scenes of minimal and electroclash alike. Some have said it laid the foundations for the ‘Dirty Dutch’
house scene, albeit from over the border in Germany.
Well known for injecting much-needed levity into the contemporary club landscape via her Live From Earth parties, DJ Gigola adds additional firepower to ‘Geht’s Noch?’, inducing a planet-shaking kick drum, before sending the track’s signature bleeps into nonsensical Morse code for even greater pleasure. Another rave
culture connoisseur, Luca Lozano, offers two alternate takes; his ‘Technocs’ mix rolls deep with additional cowbells, robotic voice commands and stadium-sized claps. Meanwhile, the ‘Gehts Garage Remix’ draws a savvy connection with the original’s as-yet-untapped UK funky potential.
Peder Mannerfelt, who straddles the line between innovation, functionality, humor and seriousness quite like its original author, takes ‘Geht’s Noch?’ to truly wuthering heights. His remix builds unexpected drama and catharsis around the enduring riff, before a collaboration with studio partner Par Grindvik as Aasthma
spins the club out with a glossy, anime-tinted take, full of whimsy and colour.
And while the digital release of Geht’s Noch? also spans interpretations from Audion, Domnik Eulberg & Moguai, this vinyl release presses Steve Angello vs Who’s Who remix to wax, that which helped take ‘Geht’s Noch?’ out of the underground and into the stratosphere. Twenty years on, and Flügel’s offbeat hit is always ascending. Love it or hate it, ‘Geht’s Noch?' will still get you good.

Carrying the mirror ball on his shoulders like Atlas, it is impossible to imagine the modern disco world without his dynamics. While his countless DJ sets give fresh impetus to the many shades of house, techno and their siblings, conversely they are a driving force behind his studio and remix excursions. Resulting from a rather casual after-dinner-listening-session during a car ride on Ibiza with a zesty Gerd Janson, who coaxed the title track out of Solomun making use of their friendship to full capacity, it is a triptych of direct, functional and free-spirited dance floor approach. Echocord welcomes the return of STL this May with the ‘Take Off Music’ EP, comprised of three murky, dubbed out cuts from the acclaimed German producer. Stephan Laubner, better known as STL has long been one of the most respected producers in the underground electronic music scene. Racking up releases on the likes of Smallville, Perlon, Echospace Detroit, his own Something and of course Echocord where he returns here. ‘Fluxxy’ leads on the package, embracing STL’s signature style via, dusty analogue drums, choppy dub stabs, penetrating low end flutters and airy atmospherics before ‘Dub Plus’ lays focus on a stripped-back, perfectly balanced drum groove, hazy field recordings and bubbling chord delays and bell chime synths. ‘Magic Thing’ then rounds out the release, fusing fm synth melodies and gritty bass stab sequences with thunderous subs and Laubner’s robust rhythmic style. Canadian selectors The Patchouli Brothers are back for their 3rd instalment of edit heat on Razor-N-Tape. The duo truly never misses with their deep digs and careful retouches, and this record once again delivers the goods from the mid-tempo gospel synth boogie groove of The Spirit, the burning uptempo disco fire of C U Move, the wide-smiling party hook of Teddy’s Highlife, and soulful machine-funk of Do Ya Wanna. 4 killers, no filler, straight to the bag!

Pacific Northwest native and a mainstay of the Portland and Seattle scenes since the late 90s, Trevor Vichas, now becomes part of the Selections label family with the sort of smooth cruising EP that will quickly become a staple in the record bags of deep house heads. 'With You' opens with the sort of gentle, meandering chords that get you daydreaming while the subtle sax lines add some soul to a warm groove. A1. Renowned producer, Bodeler, showcases his mastery in the minimal genre with his first contribution to the MBK collection. Long-serving British house producer and hits maker Michael Gray brings his famously soulful sound to "On My Way Out" By Jamiroquai’s Derrick McKenzie Feat. Angela Johnson and it very much taps into a timeless vibe and old school disco feel. The grooves are nice and loose, the moog riff is smooth and fresh and the vocals are solar to the heavens next to mid tempo beats. High class Remix and lavish quality of the most uplifting music.

Ace’s small but ever-evolving “Black America Sings…” series has been quiet of late, but it springs back into action this month with the 2-LP and CD releases of “Highway Of Diamonds” – a second dip onto the catalogue of Bob Dylan, as reimagined by some of the foremost African-American artists of the 20th century.

From almost the start of his songwriting career, Dylan’s words and music have impacted on black American music, with ‘Blowin’ In The Wind’, speaking to an America that was still mostly segregated and becoming an anthem for all colours and creeds. As Dylan’s own career progressed, so did the number of covers he received, with a significant amount coming from what might be termed ‘non-traditional’ sources such as those heard here.

The 20 songs on “Highway Of Diamonds” continue the story that was told in part on the earlier “How Many Roads” compilation, with an almost entirely different selection of artists lending their voices to some of the best songwriting of the 20th century, and an almost entirely different selection of songs (with the exception of ‘Blowin’ In The Wind’ itself, which provides a common thread linking the story told across the two sets).
Big names from the worlds of soul, gospel and jazz, timeless songs and, for many, new ways of appreciating ever-durable material make “Highway Of Diamonds” as essential a purchase as its predecessor.

As ever, the great audio is complemented by a handsomely illustrated package on both CD and double vinyl, with a plethora of illustrations and in depth song-by-song-and-track-by-track annotation by Ace legend Tony Rounce.

Freerange have commissioned a limited repress of Reflections Vol. 1 on splendid pink vinyl. The four track VA contains the much-prized Better by Cody Currie plus complementary tracks from James Kumo, Jimpster & Bishy, and Radic The Myth.

The debut release on Caricia Records sees longtime collaborators VIL and CRAVO refine the language they've developed through years of joint work, both individually and as members of the Hayes collective. Between them, their output on labels like Monnom Black, Klockworks, Self Reflektion and the aforementioned Hayes Collective has consistently balanced precision with character, and this first chapter under their new imprint is no exception.

Opening with So Right, the record sets a distinct tone, with rolling percussion and a hypnotic vocal line threading through the mix with restraint and control. 420% FODA leans into classic swing and texture, tightly looped and built for movement without ever overreaching. On the B-side, CRAVO offers Future Detroit, a stripped-back piece with room to breathe, subtle in its shifts but firm in its intent. VIL rounds off the EP with Hard to Find, a playful closer that keeps things buoyant and dynamic, pushing forward without losing its shape.

Caricia 001 is about clarity of purpose. No filler, no theatrics, just four tracks that speak for themselves.

After a feature on last year’s VA Family Affair comp, Tokyo-based producer Yuu Udagawa drops her first solo EP on Razor-N-Tape. With releases on Freerange and Compost under her belt, Yuu has been developing a subtle and moody deep house sound that she displays across the 3 original songs of the Urban Physicality EP. Each track vibrates with dark chordal textures, pulsating drums and chopped vocal samples, beautifully layered to develop and slowly build. To round out the record, Tokyo producer Takuya Matsumoto turns in a throbbing late-nite remix of the EP’s title track, with a tougher drum profile, cavernous bass and masterful sound design.

In pursuit of a full, killer tape dropped at the peak of summer ’25, the »DIAL #212 061 92« edits land as a coincidental epitaph to YOUTH’s Stockport bar MØ6B, which shut doors this weekend after a short but beloved run. The four tracks are precisely the sort of classic, all-roads-lead-back-to-the-Haç cuts the bar plated up, conserving a heritage of YOUTH’s links with fabled club night meandyou., and Duster Valentine’s deep roots in Manchester’s pivotal club history.

Cues are worn-on-sleeve from the classic aesthetic to the track titles, cooking up blends of classic, imported Detroit, Chi, NYC, and Italo house ingredients that made up Duster Valentine’s formative club diet and fed forward into his work on a secretive edits label, and much more. A case in point is »Boost tha midz«, rolling out swaggering Nu Groove-type bass, nagging arps, and shiver-jaw vox owing to the Burrell Brothers via flashbacks to peaking, sweaty hours in the rainy city.

His »Rowetta (with Roman)« continues to salute a proper early NYC-via-Whitworth St. flex with killer congas synced to rave and diva stabs for the dancers with something to show – think AGCG x 808 State via the type of gear DJ Sprinkles played BITD – while »Let You Go« hits a shade tuffer on a heads-down buck charged with Joey Beltram horsepower, and »Baby in the Room« gives it some proper Italo house peacockery for haughty stompers.

BERG AUDIO is happy to welcome back one of our favorite producers, Havantepe. The release includes a superb collaboration with Christopher Ledger, and a remix from one of Romania’s key artists, Cristi Cons – Artwork by Juli Jah.

Kanyon (John) is a NYC based producer/dj who has cut his teeth in the underground US techno scene through raw live sets, and dynamic djing. Keeping the quality high with his signature no-bs style of production and performing, he has played live supporting legends like Steve Poindexter, DJ Hyperactive, and Francois K. His productions have garnered support from Ben Sims, Akua, Ron Like Hell, Kush Jones and many others.

The Duplex EP is a split record featuring John's house alias DJ John Brooklyn on the A side (A1, A2, locked groove) & techno alias Kanyon on the B side (B1, B2). Exploring NY house and trippy, dubby minimal techno respectively, Duplex EP is a heady start to 2026.

Mihai Popoviciu, one of the most esteemed names in the deep house and minimal scene, is set to unveil his anticipated new album, ‘Puzzle Box’, on Bondage Music. As one of the label’s core artists, Popoviciu returns for his second full-length album release on the imprint following his successful 2016 album, ‘Home’ - available on vinyl from 15th November 2024.

With a career spanning over a decade and with releases on numerous influential labels such as 8Bit to Berg Audio, Popoviciu has firmly established himself as a go-to within the minimal-leaning realms of house music. Known for intricate soundscapes and deep, hypnotic grooves, his work continues to captivate audiences globally. On ‘Puzzle Box’, he delves deeper into his signature stripped-back yet soulful aesthetic, offering a diverse collection of tracks that traverse through various sonic textures.

Since arriving at the back end of 2023, Chris Massey's Thief Of Time quickly evolved from a solo project into a live 3 piece alongside fellow electronic explorers; Lady Lady and Mike Grubert.
Where dark is light, light is dark and emotions are electronic, We Are Cosmic is a natural evolution of The Thief Of Time project, with elements of contemporaries like New Order, Pet Shop Boys, The Fuck Buttons, Chromatics and The Cocteau Twins being present alongside current inspirations such as Nabihah Iqbal and Night Tapes.

17 years after first releasing a cassette EP from label boss Marsel van der Wielen under his Peel Seamus guise, Delsin is soon to hit the landmark category number of 100.
Truth is, taking into account choice re-issues and specials such as the recent house series, there have already been scores more than 100 releases. Nevertheless, in that time the Dutch label has become synonymous with a wide range of timeless sounds from house to techno to dub to electronica, nurturing and championing some of the most respect names in the scene.

To mark the occasion, the label is to release five new various artist EPs (100 copies will be special, limited and coloured vinyl exclusively available through the Delsin web shop with a collector's box) that will be compiled onto one special CD compilation come the final release.

'After many different life cycles, with this compilation I try to go back to the core of Delsin, to showcase more otherworldly/dreamy/soulful but still raw techno sounds from a selection of key artists who best represent the label,' says Marsel. 'The tracks are all individual offerings but are tied together with the common themes of the label, and as a compilation will paint a nice overall picture that is not shy of moving away from the dancefloor side of things.'

Across the five EPs you can expect tracks from newbies and old favourites alike, including Sawlin and Delta Funktionen, John Beltran and Bleak, Redshape and Convextion and plenty more. The first - like all of them - features three tracks, one each from Gerry Read, Unbroken Dub and Claro Intelecto.
