limited edition white to 300 copies get them quick -ultra rare
urban is an essential detroit late night jam for me. i get chills hearing this. i remember when it first came out, on a double pack. very rare raw and chunky and beautiful. all these elements. this track sounds like how theo deejays, to me. tweekin the knobs, EQ-ing the bass and hi's, til we couldnt take it anymore, as he bounced his head. probably one of the most eclectic deejays. he's incredible and so is this track

For the momentous Crosstown Rebels #100, one of electronic music's great innovators makes his long-awaited comeback as Tiga. The Montreal avant-gardist's first original work in four years 'The Picture' is big, bad and heavy in every sense. Factor in an outstanding remix of 'Pleasure From The Bass' from wonder boy Subb-an and you have a very special landmark release indeed.Tiga has always had a knack of injecting freaky character into the tantalizing late night music he crafts and with 'The Picture', Tiga literally bulldozes all expectation giving Crosstown Rebels an unforgettable flash of rave imbued dark pop-electro tech. Assuming the transcendent verse of Prince, Tiga's echoing vocals glower like iridescent petrol as the trippy, molten sound wall of bleeps and beats propel this inexorable dancefloor slayer.
Killing it on every level right now, Rebels favourite and One Records boss Subb-an brings Tiga's dance classic 'Pleasure From The Bass' up to date with a wonky logic and deeper swing on the drums adding spaciousness to the groove. With Tiga's penetrating vocal in tact along with fresh tweaks of acid, Subb-an's badboy bassline bumps towards a medley of spooky keys evoking a ghostbusters rave scene and although undeniably groovy, Subb-an's rework still fizzes with electric shocks and twists.Tiga has wowed the electronic universe with his ghostly fluorescent sonic beams since 'Sunglasses At Night' first dropped on City Rockers in 2001, when a longstanding friendship with then label boss Damian Lazarus was born. Now with Lazarus about to enter the tenth year of his pioneering Crosstown Rebels imprint, it is fitting that the two should entwine in this destiny for the milestone #100.Besides a head spinning career as DJ and producer, Tiga has been running Turbo Recordings since 1998 - home to some of the most cutting edge, genre-crossing brilliance out there with releases from Chromeo, Azari & III and Tiga himself - as well as lately delivering a smoking trail of high-profile remixes. It would take all night to even glaze over the story of Tiga's career but it's safe to say it's been one full of colourful decadence and a disregard for the norm. Both Tiga and Crosstown are true trendsetters and together they

Birmingham's Free School step up with their first release on Ism with the epic reworking of 'Set It Free', slightly faster and decidedly more warped and twisted than the original, Having just rocked this years Garden Festival in Croatia, the lads live reputation is growing having recently played at the Futurism party in London. The remix completely in early 2012 has been featured in a diverse range of DJ sets including Gilles Peterson and Ross Allen.

Kenny Dixon Jr's prolific year continues with the announcement of the 'Why Do U Feel' EP, set for release on his own KDJ imprint next month.
The three track 12'' follows the recent hard-to-find I Guess You Never Been Lonely 12'', and, before that, a free digital EP for the Scion automotive company. And of course there's a full album slated for release this year too.
Alongside the previously released ''I Got Werk'' - you may remember the slightly risible video of Dixon Jnr walking through Camden - are two intriguing new cuts, namely the title track and ''Born 2 Die''.

2011's debut album from The Shaolin Afronauts 'Flight Of The Ancients' was a critical and commercial success story, lauded as a truly original blend of the sounds of 1970's West Africa, Ethiopia and the pioneering and progressive avant-garde jazz artists of the same period. 'Flight Of The Ancients' went onto be nominated for several music awards, including the 25th Aria Fine Arts Awards in the world music category, whilst the band, led by Ross McHenry, cemented it's reputation as a truly revelatory live act, with a colourful and vibrant visual element to their shows, with the band resplendent in flowing, hooded robes and face paint to complete the spiritual presentation of their highly original music.

Berlin Calling: "Berlin electronic music composer Martin (Paul Kalkbrenner), known as DJ Ickarus, is touring with his manager and girlfriend Mathilde (Rita Lengyel) from club to club around the globe and is about to release their
biggest album to date. However, all of his plans are thrown out of kilter after Ickarus is submitted to the emergency ward of a psychiatric clinic high on drugs after a gig - a tragicomedy in Berlin of today.

geiles remake vom michael jackson classic !!! now repressed !!! New Color Cover Version

The mobilee classic series is featuring some almost forgotten label gems in a limited re-press edition on vinyl. The first classic release comes from Anja Schneider & Sebo K. Rancho Relaxo was originally released in 2005 and helped mobilee to get international recognition shortly after the venture started. One of the most successful releases on the label until now. A timeless anthem. Coming with Pan-Pot´s remix on the B-Side first time together on vinyl. Get it before its gone again!

2012 - we are milleniumized neo, more than ever before. 1993, when Techno was all over the place, German experts Tommi Eckart (at that time not 2raumwohnung yet) and Ralf Hertwig (at that time not Palais Schaumburg anymore) released a track, which found its way out there as a legendary underground-club classic in Germany, England, Benelux and France: "The Beat Just Goes Straight On And On".

Excellent new housed up edit of the Bill Withers classic

So what is After the void ..We Bang the Bomb of course with a lady in a thong surrounded by snakes and hand grenade's, obvious really! Having been away for some time it appears that a Light Sounds Dark spring is in the air. En route to their next destination (rumoured to be a dark subterranean world full of nasty mutants 'Danger electrified tracks' out this Summer) with arms out the window and the mothership roof down, it's full steam ahead and proper European dance music time.

Not really train spotting as before although a couple are a bit off piste like Malta's very own Ian Dury by the name of Iain Richardson rapping about sitting on a green bus! much more like it however are classic Italo covers of 'Big in Japan', 'Gloria', a wonderful new wave version of Falco's euro smash 'Der Kommissar' and The Thoughts massive German hit 'Wait a Long Time' sounding like some long lost Talk Talk record. Light Sounds Dark do some minor tweaking (going for that natural look) to big beast anthems Axodry's 'You' and Colme 111's 'You Take Me High' (early euro take on Chicago) and for lovers of something a bit more funky there's some groovy goings on from Kraut funksters Epsilon urging people to 'Leave The City' which might not be a bad idea if the water runs out.

SECOND REMIX IN THE BILL WITHERS SERIES - AFTER THE SUCCESS OF BWITH1 WE AGAIN BRING YOU A MASSIVE REMIX SET TO STOMP UP THE SUMMER WITH THE GOOD VIBES.

!!! repressed !!!! oberphatter remix des 80ies disco classikers !!

'WINGS' is taken from THE INVISIBLE's album 'RISPAH', and comes with an exquisite remix from Floating Points !
While the lead track from Mercury Nominated indie-electronic mopey types The Invisible is a goodun, our money's on the phenomenal remix from the ever on-form Floating Points. Taking the crunchy drum-machine rhythm, tape hiss and guitar jangle from the original, Sam Shepherd reconfigures the track into a near eight-minute opium opus, whimsical synths and all. Funnily enough Dave Okumu's haunting vocals sound even more focused here as Shepherd tranforms them into a ghostly memory, reframing them as a complex recollection of loss. It's harrowing and beautiful stuff

Coming through with a heavyweight release, Day By Day by Research complete with a Psychemagik remix.
Research were a post punk, industrial jazz funk band who formed in the early 80s supporting bands such as Material and Pigbag as well as playing sessions for the BBC and Womad.
They released one album, the still sought after 'Social Systems'. Recent interest in the band resulted in releases on Rong / DFA and Bearfunk. Their 2010 Reworks twelve-inch was awarded single of the week on Boomkat.
The Day By Day Dub is stripped back disco not disco that fuses live percussion, bass, guitars, drums, pads and vocals by Valerie Maxfield (Groove Armada / Freestylers) but with studio touches locking it down to a fierce groove. The tension builds until the Rhodes chords drop to give it some deep soul disco.
Psychemagik continue their purple patch with a floor heavy mix that mixes up disco and deep house but is all class.
They retain the original elements but add stabs, pads and bass and completely re-arrange it for dance floor impact.
Best buckle up for this one.
Magic
You bet
