House Vinyl New Releases - News

Lukas Nystrand von Unge's music has been making the rounds on hissy cassettes, scratched up cdrs and chaotic Soundcloud pages ever since he first started making music in 1987. Utilising equal parts playfulness and rigid methodology, he's slowly but surely carved out a unique sound over the years - one which combines heavenly melodies with dubby lo-fi esthetics, white funk and black pop. On this first of several Studio Barnhus releases from Lukas, we find six tracks recorded over a timespan of ten years - all spontaneously composed in that musical/mythological wonderland where Mariah Carey and Ornette Coleman live together in sweet harmony. Lukas is 38 years old - he lives in the Stockholm suburb Tensta with his wife Elin and newborn son Otto. His emo-techno-pop anthem 'Never Fail' appeared on James Holden's DJ-Kicks compilation in 2010 and he's been running the Amiga tracking scene related netlabel Ageema Music Club since 1997.

legendary osunlade remixed most club friendly track on the album and it's more dj tool jazzy deep house.
oskar's buddy edward remix is simply epic.very imaginative breakbeats track.
frankfurt's bodin&jacob's remix is kind of mash up of some tracks on the album. it's kind of early electro stuff.
metamatics is well known in the end of 90's.we like his moniker norken.

New school electro wunderkind Privacy makes his debut on Klakson with a dark four tracker that checks all the right boxes. The EP kicks off with "Four IO", a haunting, spacey dubbed out acid roller with lush pads throughout. "U Can Tell" and "NCSC" are both specimens of the finest EBM tradition, re-interpreting the sound for 2017, while "Shove" on the B2 effortlessly transports us into deep, uptempo aquatic electro territory.

Bocal 5 were a No Wave art group composed of Doc Pilot (synths, vocals), Zouka Dzaza (bass), Florian Guillou (synths), Mickey Lepron (electronic drums, bass) and Evy Tinguette (lead vocals). The project was born in November 1980 in Tours, France as the brain child of Doc Pilot. Between 1981 to 1986 Bocal 5 recorded one 7' single and a cassette-only album before taking a year off in 1984 to launch X-Ray Pop. Influenced by Erik Satie, Brigitte Bardot, Suicide and Young Marble Giants, they call their music "minimum naive new wave."

Musique Électronique' is a 19-track compilation of songs recorded across 1983, most of which have never been released on vinyl before. 16 tracks appeared on the From Bocal 5 To X-Ray Pop' album originally released on cassette by Sound of Pig in 1984. Both tracks from their debut 7' originally released in MB5 1984 are included and show a progression in sound as a result of newer recoding equipment and techniques. Also present is a song from the tape compilation Andreas N°3 L'Animal" released by Fraction Studio in 1984. Armed with a Korg 770, MS-10, Prophet Pro-One, Roland TR-707 and TB-808 they crafted their own brand of quirky synthesized electronic pop. Songs are short, concise and well structured, richly textured, moving at a quick speed with hardly a pause. Evy's pouting, tongue-in-cheek vocals (sung in French) come together for a catchy, sensuous, danceable, eccentric psychedelic ride. This collection shows the group's sense of humor, vitality and carefree playfulness.

All songs have been remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. Each jacket displays a bright neon green collage of photos and ephemera from the band's archives designed by Eloise Leigh that exudes the project's DIY spirit. Each copy includes a 6-page xeroxed booklet with photos, original artwork and press clippings.

TRACKSIDE unearths more precious gems direct from the lost tapes of the mysterious ZAGITTARIUS. These are guaranteed authentic finds that were thought to be gone forever. One-side limited edition pressing

After a 10 year hiatus, UK 'godfather of house' Eddie Richards has relaunched his sought-after Storm imprint. This is the first release of an ongoing series featuring his own original remastered tracks accompanied by brand new remixes from some of the most talented names in contemporary club music.

OktoRed, hailing from Detroit MI, has been gaining some real momentum of late. As one of Beatportal's 'Artists To Watch 2012', and coming off his first YoSucka! imprint, 'The Future Sounds of 8 Mile' he wants to showcase his ability to transcend from his kind, gentle side, to a more rough, dark side. In birth, he is a Gemini. Two sides, hardly describes his abilities as a producer, but think of his "sign" as a sign of things to come. From the beginning, OktoRed has tried to keep himself away from the pigeonholing nature of the electronic dance scene.

Active Cultures proudly presents its first release, the Animate Objects EP by Tide Eman, a new recording project by Texan producer Bill Converse. 5 tracks in Converse's singular style meant to stimulate mind and body.

Imperative is a groovy house track with delayed vocal stabs & a sampled female vocal running though with added with 808 clicks, chords & a snapping snare.
The System2 remix of Imperative is just as cool with a rolling breaky drum loop giving it a 90s house feel, again the vocal leads the track with the groovy bass & chords built around it.
First up on the B side Once Again is a cool groove with sampled vocals & electronic bleeps echoing through the mix.
Last but not least the Juliche Hernandez remix of Once Again has a more 90s feel to it. Fast paced with great percussive hits & a chunky bassline to lead, all in all great release aimed firmly at the dancefloor.

Summer has not officially kicked in yet but Antinote's new addition to its roster will sure soundtrack perfectly its upcoming warm nights: encapsulating the teenage dream of an endless summer, 18 RAYS is the moniker behind which some of the label's most steady fixtures gave a try at recording music together, somewhere straight in the heart of Paris' 18th arrondissement.
.
Nico Motte, Zaltan & Raphaël Top-Secret have been friends way before each of them occasionally played his part in the Parisian label and it is mainly out of this friendship that they conceived 18 RAYS, a vessel to finally give life to the band they dreamed of in their teenage years. It is safe to say that 18 RAYS has been in their mind for quite a while, but it was only last winter, after a couple of bottles of natural wine on a hazy evening, that they decided that it was time to give it a real go and to pick up the instrument each learned years ago: the guitar, the bass and
the drums.

Produced by Nico Motte - the man behind all the artworks of the label - the trio spent 5 weeks between Synth City (Motte's studio) and Red Bull Studio in Paris working on these 4 songs, each sitting somewhere between some sort of timeless and somehow aquatic dream pop and blurred visions of an eerie grunge sound, that probably
never was.

That being said, the genesis of 18 RAYS might explain why their debut EP turns out to be such an intimate affair: while it took its members down memory lane, the listener will embark on an ethereal trip, taking him to a parallel universe in which the sounds of Cocteau Twins,

The seldomly heard, more emotional side of Mono Junk on Vortex Traks.

Announcing their second release on their own label, the duo from Barcelona is ready to deliver 4 obscure Techno Acid tracks.

Ears open for this FLEX002, a collection of fresh made in Italy house and the first journey with our new "Piada Spaceship", we are pleased to welcome this bunch of astronauts that made this 12" a versatile tool for every kind of dance floor.

Yougrent, with his hypnotic and full dreamy track (don't give us a chance!), the Hill's "Short Track" which embraces MPC beats and a 303-like evolving bass, alongside the collaboration between our men Dj Rou and Opponent, who build their "Afrowalk" on a never-ending jazzy loop.

On B side you can find the dirty bass driven by Tengrams that make the things more raw, the closing track is from Luckyfeels which creates a fresh house track on a 90's piano.

2CV is a really hairy, non-french post-disco dynamic duo who likes working with sound waves and big animals. They apparently created the band after some spinning and Gin & Tonic sessions in the living room. They are incredibly talented, nice and professional people. They like horses. Their first EP featured horses too. Freud would have something to say about this. MUGWUMP, the master of trans-genre dance music, is at remixing duties. He is awesome but we don't really know if he likes horses too.

Don't you feel sexier already Go and shag the planet honey. YOU'RE A HORSE, YOU'RE A FUCKING HORSE AND THE WORLD IS YOUR PLAYING FIELD, NOW GO FOR IT, NIGHT DOG LUNATIC,SCORCHED HARMONICS. YOU'RE A HORSE, BEHAVE LIKE ONE.

German Electrofunk purist CeeOnic checks in with Ground Control. Originally released on the label of Miami Bass legend Debonaire, the two crisp and powerful productions perfectly catch the vibe of 1980s Electro classics by the likes of Egyptian Lover, Pretty Tony or World Class Wreckin' Cru, taking it into the 21st century.

The Sound In Your Ear and That's My Fantasy, which is included as a new Extended 12" Mix, are CeeOnic's overdue debut on vinyl.

Gas Grabaciones second cut it's an interesting mixture of two well known artists at their hometown.
"Eterno" is a very skilled DJ with years of experience and also with wide experience producing, from day one he's an important reference for the label.
On the other side we have "Matias Muten" track, his blasting live sets are an exquisite reference in Uruguay. When talking about live performances, Matias is a must.
This work from both artists will try to tell with their analog, eclectic, bumping sounds how's the deal down in Uruguay with experienced producers.
Ideal to play it both sides on the same DJ set, they in some way complement each other, as if the story to tell is the same.

Dive-bar turned record label Paradise Palms presents a brand new 7' from veteran producer Justin Robertson, a man with over 23 years experience as an innovator and restless proponent of fascinating forward-thinking music.

His tireless work ethic has ensured that he remains one of the most relevant and exciting DJ/Producers around, as a whole new generation of electronic enthusiasts will sweatily testify. Justin's latest incarnation as The Deadstock 33s has been garnishing lavish praise from figureheads such as Andrew Weatherall and Erol Alkan, as well as a diverse cross-section of fresh talent, from Daniel Avery to Eats Everything.

Cyborg Holiday Snaps is a double-whammy 7' of alien machine funk crafted by the rave pilot himself. The titular track launches headrst into hissing electro territory with pounding rhythms and Detroit-strength bass stabs, while Numerical Discord is a low-slung 110bpm Acid weapon.

Cyborg Holiday Snaps is available on 7' on 4th December and digital on 8th December, distributed by Rubadub/EPM. The record was mastered by John Vic at Finiex Studios in Edinburgh.

Airaboi is Aitor Rabell's solo project and an alias that has allowed this Valencia born electronic musician

and producer -now residing in Berlin- to record a diary of emotive sounds since 2014. After his brilliant debut EP Endless Field', released on his own label Banned In Vegas in 2016, Airaboi returns with "Dream In Motion". This extended EP was written and produced between Barcelona, Valencia and Berlin and reflects the range of emotions he experienced in uncertain times, when making difficult decisions about his future. Tracks like "Nocturnal Animals" and "We'll Stay Here Forever" demonstrate how leftfield, dream house and experimental electronica can live in unison, incorporating a sentimental and nostalgic sound. The EP's final track Dream In Motion' was created during the time Rabell was relocating to Berlin to begin a new adventure. It provides a rollercoaster of raw feelings, combining perfectly with wistful undertones and all the innocence and joy of a child in a theme park.

STL on Smallville always means something special- fully-functional for the dancefloors worldwide but always poly-rhythmic, full of cryptic surprises and with the iconic STLtwist. You'll be caught within just a beat. Full Cover Artwork as always by Stefan Marx.

The excellent Field label embarks on a new mini trilogy of EPs that will "present a magical journey through modern-day trance." First up in the series is Artefakt with their three track effort The Final Theory. Dutch producers Robin Koek and Nick Lapien make up Artefakt, and between them they excel at moody voodoo music on labels like Delsin. They open this latest EP with the title track, a deep, spacious house roller with subtle pads and gentle acid that perform slow motion acrobatics for nearly ten minutes. It is suspensory, dreamy music that works on the head as well as the heel. Moving Horizon is then less doleful and introspective but just as deep, with sweeping pads add a sense of scale, busy drums bring the dynamism and icy percussive sounds adding a sense of urgency. Last but not least, Solaris is a fatter, more physical groove with claps and gloopy bass, acid flashes and trancey pads all fleshing out a lush and deep electro workout. This is heavenly stuff that cannot fail to get inside your head and heart.

Inspecteur Gadget Electro swing opens the EP:) And the whole thing brings the same kind of ambiance... Summer time baby ! Take your tong and vamos a la playa ^^

The systems that maintain the total spreading and keeps the western civilisation enslaved under the foot of capitalism are destroyed. The analogue reality reaches you unfiltered and seven billion screens show white noise. The fax network is the only thing working..

Hoga Nord Rekords proudly present Ultra Satan! A body that have lent blood from other acts on the label, such as SPR, Tentakel, Fontan and The Exorcist GBG, are releasing their first 7inch. Ultra Satan displays with the two tracks USA and USB, an almost unprecedented unrestrained creative force, stemmed from the ambition to destroy and rebuild. Rebuild something free and unexplored.

Ultra Satan works with the concept of 'More is More' and with that principal they capture the Zeitgeist of over consumption, global warming and skew resource allocation. The music presents one part of the whole ambition of this group, and is the strongest sounding source right now. But the more long going plans of this collective, band or whatever you want to call it, is by secret networks to connect all the freaks who also sense that the end of the world as we know it will come to an end sooner than later.

Ultra Satan is ahead musically, philosophically, politically and spiritually. Join the gathering!

ALONZO is an electro guy. raised in miami and now living in brooklyn, he has been brewing tracks for years. these electro/futuristic miami bass tracks are finally getting the release they deserve. recommended for fans of dopplereffekt, pretty tony, and the west coast sound of holland.

Sequenced and recorded in using synths like Roland 909, Roland Juno 106, Akai Cassette Deck GXC 325D, MFB 522, Doepfer Modular, Telefunken M15A...

Blair French comes through with a Detroit Deep House meets Afro-Brazilian Beat stomper. The A side title track holds a nearly 10 minute aural odyssey feat. Paul Randolph (Jazzanova / Mahogani Music), Ryan Gimpert (Will Sessions), and Topher Horn (Rocksteady Disco). The flip holds "Ayiba I Yeri O" and "Pagode Americano", 2 world Beat dance floor destroyers.

More than 20 years since its original release, Metroplex are offering us another chance at one of Detroit's most significant tracks: "Model 500 - No UFO's". The double-pack will contain the original vocal- and instrumental mix on the first disc, whilst the second disc will contain tributes by Luciano and native Detroiter Moodymann. Just in time for the end of summer Dark Leader snaps back with it's third release for 2017. For Dark Leader 004 Collins brings us 3 futuristic electro cuts for his Die Mädchen EP. It all starts off with Luna (Traum Model), a track that takes the listener to the part of the mind reserved only for very late nights and early mornings where the lines between the real and unreal become blurred. Next up is Lotte (Kampf Modell) an aggressive electro number that turns the dance floor into a battlefield from a war where humans finally overtake the machines. Finally Collins takes us on a hypnotic journey that interweaves sadness and beauty with Alenka (Trauer Modell), a track that reconnects you to memories and past experience, an odyssey that you won't soon forget. Dark Leader 004 is housed in a full color jacket featuring cover artwork by Eleanor's Mannequin Art, design by Eric Adrian Lee, and mastered by Timothy Stollenwerk.

The 2nd release of the Berlin based Label Takatak Records comes with 3 tracks from Kala Zahnadu. It's his first vinyl project combining styles like Minimal, Techhouse, Electro Pop and female vocals.

We turn to Chapter 3 as we introduce a brace of remixes by easily one of our favourite DJ's and producers; the one and only Lena Willikens!
We haven't really went in for remixes much before with the label, as we feel strongly about the power of the original. In the right hands, a great remix can be equally as powerful though and Lena has succeeded in bringing her own weird and wonderful sounds to a track from each preceding chapter - rRoxymore from Chapter 1 and Oslo Gabon from Chapter 2 - whilst still keeping true to the original work.

a great electro cover version of the alphaville bomb !!!!

After the long awaited and acclaimed return of the notorious Manie Sans De´lire on June Records, one-half of the group, Trenton Chase, returns on the label with a bold solo LP marking his departure from the sound of his previous releases on the imprint.

For his first album attempt, Trenton embarks on the search for everything and manages to encapsulate the whole essence of the June Records ethos within 43 minutes of music.
Although initially not planned as an album, Deadlock was conceived organically as it only took a few months for its completion during the artist's most abundant 2017 studio spring sessions.

This body of work transcends formulaic attempts to showcase a very refreshing and uncompromising take on synth music. Chase followed a crude approach to songwriting, rehearsing and improvising live until the best take would eventually become the final track. Artwork by Florent Mazzocchetti.
