Both melancholy and pumping, think DJ Rush meets the Tetris theme in an oddball, groovy-as-hell work of genius.The cut-up, loopy loops and tough, tribal beats on Apilli are deranged in a good way and - as with the rest of the EP - demonstrate a quirkiness and subtle humour akin to Basement Jaxx's early golden period.A big sample drives the jacking, sweaty, glitz of Upsqwar's warped take on handbag, which channels the spirit of Modjo and features a ponderous, almost chiptune melody drifting subtly over the top.The EP closes with the Greek flavoured stomper Glas, which wouldn't sound out of place on Richie Hawtin's 1999 mix album Decks, EFX & 909. This new EP is first release since jus a lil for Crazylegs, which gained high praise from NPR, Resident Advisor, Indie Shuffle, Mixmag, Dummy, Hyponik and FACT - who commissioned a video and coined the tongue-in-cheek genre name 'outsider Ibiza'. Comparisons have been made to Thomas Bangalter, Alan Braxe, Todd Edwards and David Morales - albeit a skewed reinterpretation. Like the punks' assimilation of rock and roll, DJJ's fresh and irreverent take on highlights from dance music history make for some of the most exciting sounds since Daft Punk's first forays.Although distorted and with lowered bit-rates, to call theses tracks 'low fi' is to do them a disservice, as DJJ's manipulation of frequencies, distortion and samples is deceptively simple yet not easily matched. There's a mastery of sonics and leftfield sensibility at play, akin to fellow EQ tweakers Heiroglyphic Being, Aphex Twin and Adrian Sherwood.DJJ is a member of the Bristol-based label/collective Crazylegs, alongside artists including Gage, Sudanim, Finn (all of whom remixed just a lil). He's also one half of ISLAND, whose grime-flavoured Nokia EP was release in 2015 - also on Crazylegs.

* The music is written by Stian Gjevik , which is better known as EOD whose carrer made a steep curve upwards after this release. This was the first vinyl record which was ever released for EOD and can be regarded as a true classic. While the original black white label record was delivered with paintings ( on every record chip tronic made an individual labelling and painted some characters resembling the ACME characters in his favourite c64 game creatures 2 ) the repress comes as noble red vinyl with a white label and the stonedwave logo stamped on it. Returning to Kompakt after his quirky label debut "Mission To Bars" (Kompakt 347), transcendental house music producer CLARIAN resumes his search for mesmerizing soundscapes with a surreal hue on the ANKH EP. Three new tracks continue the spaceman chronicles, with the last EP's protagonist embarking on a grander adventure than ever before - our unfortunate hero, who initially got stuck in a bar on a strange planet, now intends to travel to the outer rim of the known cosmos in a desperate bid to stop the ancient evil army of the space zombie lizard kings.
At least that's what he's trying to do - unprecedented turmoil brought him to a moon rave in the Hipston Galaxy, "the dopest galaxy with the freshest Eco-galactic-friendly products and politically correct views on Space Blobs". And it's here that the spaceman spends the next three years in an awesome blur of party photons and anti-gravitational break beats... until that fateful moment during an after party in an illegal crater with Ricardo Villaroboto, when he's doing bumps of Kryptonite with a Zorgonian in a bathroom stall and hears about the space zombie lizard kings for the first time. Their formidable stupidity and greed for brains has the potential to destroy the very fabric of space and time, a very troubling thing for people who care about existence and stuff.
Only one mysterious object is powerful enough to take down the zombie lizard empire and restore balance to the universe: it's called ANKH and emits its dreamy harmonics, glistening synth motives and gentle beat throbs from deep within a crystallized pyramid. Just as the spaceman is about to respond - probably with a heroic vow to the good cause -, the 17-tentacled DJ drops the slightly nostalgic OLD MIAMI, a groovy, hypnotic late-night jam for the raving fla^neur (also a reference to a dive bar in Detroit where CLARIAN played one of his first shows) and our hero euphorically sneezes so hard that he accidentally sprays the Kryptonite all over the floor - while smacking his space helmet against the wall behind him.
Several million moon cycles later, he wakes up with a pounding headache, freely floating in space. Completely alone and with out a single glass of whiskey to take the edge off, he starts feebly humming to himself - a song called ALIENATED that perfectly showcases CLARIAN's well-documented knack for catchy weirdness, letting its main motive glitch in all the right places. Following releases on imprints such as Multi Culti, Soft Touch, Rumors or Turbo, plus a stint as mixer, arranger and audio engineer on Tiga's last album "No Fantasy Required", this latest offering reveals an artist that has built himself a strong pedigree with fans of immersive, melodic dance music - but still manages to surprise with ambidextrous sound design and that refreshing tang of absurdity that seems to be his specialty. The LP is made of fizzing Brazilian fusion, video game music, virtuoso keyboard playing, funk, and the type of glorious, hook-driven pop energy known to fans of YMO, New Order, and Mario 64 alike. After releasing his debut album "Paradise" earlier this year to much critical acclaim, B. Bravo has swung back around for yet another trip to this island of cosmic delights, tapping into some of our favorite producers & extended fam for a special 12" to accompany the digital of "Paradise Remixed". The A-Side kicks off with Fool's Gold producer Sammy Bananas turning the squelchy funk of "Freak It" into a filtered French & Italo inspired funky house monster, perfect for peak time on the dancefloor, while Los Angeles' XL Middleton deliver's a low slung G-Funk & boogie inspired take on the album single "I'm For Real". On the flip, UK producer SMBD (better known as Simbad) turns "Lay It On The Line" a classic 80s synth beast that's been tried & tested around European festivals all summer, while Grandfeather (aka Anton Borin) comes through with a spacey & deep downtempo funk reversioning of "Can't Keep My Hands Off You". Los Angeles-based Adam Mori aka B. Bravo adds a touch of love to every soulful groove he gets his hands on. His signature sound, connecting outer space g-funk, r&b, and dance music has made him a name in the electronic music scene as well a key player in the worldwide modern funk movement, being hailed by the likes of XLR8R, FACT Magazine, Gilles Peterson and many more.

Celebrating our 20th release, Glasgow's Dave Clark returns to Optimo Trax as Sparky. He was responsible for the third release on the label as LUMA which featured the club smash "John Broadwood" and recently had another big club hit with "Signals" on Numbers. We are delighted to welcome him back in what is a contunuation of a relationship that stretches back further than we care to remember.

All four tracks here are certified dancefloor winners; from the reach for the lasers, kickless "Things Fall Apart" through the synth rhapsodies of "Black Swan" and "My Prophet", climaxing in the jacking "Seven Daggers". All killer, no filler is often a trite cliche in these blurbs but is entirely true in the case of this EP.

Summer's here! Ransom Note Records continue their search for the finest dance music from Planet Earth with a carnival-ready curveball of a new release, the sleazy, playful Ghanaian Afro-Ghetto-Techno-Pop that is Bryte's word-of-mouth classic I Like Your Girlfriend. Originally surfacing on a couple of YouTube dance videos, the shitty quality video rip of Bryte's bizarro lyrics leaping over Gafacci's impeccable grime-meets-afrohouse beat has been a much-loved secret weapon in the sets of DJs that know for a minute now - Bok Bok, Mixpak and Gang Fatale have all supported heavily. Coming from Accra's booming Azonto dance scene, where tracks are knocked out in makeshift home-built studios then swapped through social media apps on smartphones, a proper release of I Like Your Girlfriend has long remained a holy grail. Now, after months of searching, several Western Union transfers, hundreds of WhatsApp messages and no lack of determination, Ransom Note have finally managed to legitimately sign the track, and are all set to give a modern classic the 12' release it deserves - making history with what is quite possibly the first Azonto track to be released on vinyl. Alongside Bryte's crazy vocal version, the release features the original beat from producer Gafacci - its bouncing techy minimalism carving a unique path between techno, house and UK funky that defies genre with glee. Vinyl buyers get a special bonus, Bryte's acapella, coming in at 128 bpm, is the perfect mixing tool.

Project STS-31-Spiralgalaxie (Hubble Telescope Series Vol.3) A clash of the Titans! Celebrating Solar One Music's 40th release and 10th anniverary, this split LP sees two stars under various disguises, Heinrich Mueller (aka Der Zyklus and various other projects) and German producer Robert Witschakowski aka The Exaltics, back to back in a no return odyssey through the depths of the Galaxy. Expect nothing but contemplative and cosmic electro beats using original outer-space sounds from the Universe. Closing the Hubble telescope trilogy which brought to you Luxus Varta and more recently E.R.P. (respectively with the "Everything Is Nothing" and "Ancient Light" EP's), trippy "Spiralgalaxie" will mark a new step in SOM's History. As usual, the final chapter of the series dedicated solely to Hubble and all the great scientists and engineers at the NASA and ESA, comes with a beautiful cover print picture taken by the Space Telescope.

Steve Spacek returns to Eglo Records after making his label debut with the summer smash 'Follow Me'. The Lewisham born singer/producer continues to innovate, utilizing the latest technologly (he made these two tracks on an ipad) to push his unique London style from his new home in Sydney NSW. 'If U Wan 2 Find Me' is a celestial slice of vocal footwork/soul, with Spacek offering his own zero gravity take on the chicago sound. Bside 'Time Is Running Out' completely switches up the tempo, this stripped back techno bubbler feels like the soundtrack to a late night cruise around the red planet. Signature Spacek swing and acid bounce througout. Steve Spacek remains one of the most unique and versatile artists from the UK, born out of Londons soundsystem culture his fearless and forwarding thinking approach to music and technology has made him impossible to pigeon hole. Consistently on the cutting edge of new evolutions in sound and style.

Banlieue Records starts the year 2017 with the release of Blasphema Eternal, the imprint's sixth record, which will in fact be the only VA release of the year as the label will focus on artist EPs.

It features ve very di erent cuts that somehow t perfectly together under Banlieue's common thread: a timeless feel, tracks that are full of detail but often understated, a breath of fresh air ready to lift up bodies and minds on the dance oor and anywhere else.

First comes a club-ready dubbed out track by duo Nummer, then a rather ambient tune reminiscent of IDM's nest moments by Michigan's own D'Marc Cantu. The first full length album for Berlins current finest psychedelic electronica act is a highly optimistic dance album with dark undertones, featuring a unique sonic palette of analogue synths, alien guitars, organic sequencing and otherworldly vocals!

Hailing from London, London Modular Alliance are a trio of modular enthusiasts, often performing live, completely on the fly using modular synths and live improvisation. Members include Koova , Yes Effect and Pip Williams , but on this new EP for Hypercolour , Pip Williams AKA Phil Venture strikes alone with four devastating cuts. With previous releases on UK techno label Brokntoys and the Kirk Degiorgio's Applied Rhythmic Technology (ART) label , LMA continue a fine run of releases with the 'Home Grown' EP . The production aesthetics across the four cuts are second to none; 'Civic Society' pairs up dark atmospherics and driving electro beats that furl into rolling breaks, whilst 'Home Grown' is a pacey and bustling burner. More forward motion electro vibes are in evidence on 'Lucid' , and EP closer, 'Saunton' combines dense ambience, broken beats and acidic bass, all with a gloss and shimmer that makes the music of London Modular Alliance so engaging. Influenced by the classic sounds of the US midwest, these four analog jams span the spectrum of nostalgic rave, electro, spacey house and deep Chicago jack. Vinyl debut for Asher Gray, a multi­instrumentalist and production veteran also known for his collaborations in his side project Mangos with Richard From Milwaukee of Jolly Jams fame.

Quartet Series is back with the Bodybuilder Series after Scott Franka's popped the new offshoot's cherry in the spring. For this sophomore release, Nachtbraker sourced some serious production talent from Eindhoven, The Netherlands. While it's the Portamento Boys' first ever release, they have the chutzpah to go full-frontal Italo and pull it off with great panache with a moody and energetic EP. The record is characterized by catchy melodies, quirky vibes and warm analog grooves. Connoisseurs will instantly recognize the TR-606 and 707, SH-101, Ensoniq Esq1 and a Casio CZ-3000. The Italo express jets off and takes no prisoners with 'Been There Come Back", a banging workout paying homage to the glorious 80's. Shoulder-pad boogie anyone 'Portamento 101 feels like you're playing the 1986 version of Outrun on your Sega. On the flip 'Final Dinner' serves up some fine Asian-Italian fusion Cuisine, and finally the P Boys drop 'Eighty Ain't", acknowledging that even though the tracks are clearly inspired by the 80s, they didn't just emulate, but innovate instead. Now let's introduce the Portamento Boys. Some say it al began when the first episode of 'Jacques, zo is het wel weer genoeg geweest' was aired on the Dutch box back in the second half of 1988. Others say it was the respect he got for robbing the local Albert Heijn with the famous saying, 'Hallo, Jumbo' that made him end up in solitary confinement. His colleagues say he never let go of Piet, his last undercover assignment. But the only one to help him in these times of mental distress, identity crises and general psychosomatic turmoil was Koos. After all these years there is a mantra to find in Piet's life that keeps him going.

Les Cidres. The new sublabel of ANUS Records. We start fresh with our own 7' by Panda Lassow and Compliment aka Les Cidres. They put their strenghts together and combine their bass, electro, dub, house, synth and disco sound with a touch of bedroom and DIY attitude.

Richard Davis is a gentleman with a proper musical history moving from London to Berlin in the late 90s and having some spectacular releases under his belt as a producer, composer and a singer. As a vocalist Richard has collaborated with, among others, Swayzak, Trentemøller and Bomb The Bass. On his new EP 'Safety Net' he is turning his composing skills back to the future and his voice and songs are sounding quite like Post New Wave meets 1980s Scott Walker. Alongside with fantastic remixes by Hamburg´s one and only Ada as well as Norwegian Berlin dude Jarle Bråthen this massive EP is a masterful piece of modern pop music.

TYVYT/IYTYI. A dusty tape of six tracks unearthed beneath the Pinkman Broken Dreams division. Nothing is known about this unnameable artist apart from his sound. A legion of hiss marches across the cassette, a blighted beat bites into lancing synthlines that bellow and writhe in their pitiful attempt to escape. Strings are left to howl in turmoil in tracks born out of a crude joke and wry smile. Mick Wills offers no condolences, the Stuttgart man lashing away any humanity with his embittered edit. Found in the pit, made for the pit.

Science Fiction Limited's fourth release, Saturn, solidifies the Italian duo's ability to navigate a wide range of emotion (& BPM), while retaining a consistency of style that mirrors all of their previous releases - these are four raw, banging, purely analogue tracks, each tirelessly rehearsed and recorded live

A lot has happened since AL & THE KIDD stamped its first release and subsequently launched its reissue series debut back in 2011...beginning with the Sir Joe Quarterman E.P., which includes a previously unreleased version of his signature hit I've Got So Much Trouble In My Mind.AK1201 features the boogie funk production by Carl Maxx Kidd, just over 10 minutes of We Like To Party' as a two sided slammer! Considering that the production was recorded in July 1979 at Media Sound, Kidd was destined to get that disco boogie sound. He along with fellow musicians crafted two versions for us.

London's DMK label provides a follow up to it's debut release from Kuba Sojka with another strong release from Stojche who delivers another quality EP of underground house/techno tracks on the Square Chapter EP.

French artist Franck Kartell returns with Alaska, his fourth full length release on UK imprint Bass Agenda Recordings. Critically acclaimed for his masterful blend of low bpm heavy beats and signature deep atmospheres Kartell moves from the fascination with the work of film maker Chris Marker's that powered his last two albums to the drama of Alaska. Like its geographical namesake the album spans ethereal beauty, drama, light and darkness and similarly provides a very individual landscape.

Eleven Pond formed in 1986, released one epic postpunk/synth pop/darkwave LP titled 'Bas Relief' then records songs for a second LP titled 'Assemblage' and the experimental noise project 'Space Trio'. The band breaks up shortly after due to differences in taste, all the 16 track master tapes are shelved. 22 years later the song Watching Trees is rediscovered in Brooklyn NY and club DJ's in the minimal synth scene play Watching Trees. Dark Entries Records reissues 'Bas Relief', the original hand silkscreened vinyl LP becomes a $900 collectors item, invitations for the band to play shows appear on Facebook ... in 2010 Jeff Gallea reforms Eleven Pond and starts recording and performing. They release a cover of the Seasons Are Sitting on Chairs' from Arvid Tuba and a few great songs like Just Be Happy'. As we love the insane modernity of these two songs we decided to release them on Prego and asked Dmitry Distant to remix this happiness anthem. All songs are remastered for vinyl by Isolator, housed in a jacket designed by Anda Masq & Rodeo Basilic.

The third release on Gratwanderung Musik is a Split EP of Filburt (Riotvan, Permanent Vacation,
O*RS) and Back For Good. GRADW03 comes out as a compact 7"-release and in a limited edition of
