A year after his first release on the label, German deepsmith Sven Weisemann is back on Delsin with a sophomore effort entitled Separate Paths. Down for his moody outings on labels like Mojuba and Telrae, this new four track affair continues to mark out the man behind it as a master of atmosphere. Grooves floating in mid air and subtle melodies drift by like half remembered thoughts. Head music that also makes your body move. It may only be four tracks long, but this EP truly takes you on a journey somewhere far away from this world.

The name DETOBEAT. derives from the home cities of all parties involved in this project: DE/nver (Todd Nickolas), TO/ronto (Linus Booth and Chris Macintyre), BE/rlin (Gene Kouzouka) and AT/hens (Lurid Music).

Booth and Macintyre have enjoyed international success as Jokers Of The Scene and are currently focused on several new projects. Nickolas has been friends of the duo since their formative years and a music producer in his own right under the name ADSR, which will soon see an archival release on Rising High Records. Gene Kouzouka is an animated and live-action film designer, and an experimental vocalist who was introduced to the project by Lurid Music label head Alexander Hobson.

Their debut release features a reworked female vocal version of Ciffs by Marie Davidson, an assaulting techno rework from her Essaie Pas partner Pierre Guerineau, a psychedelic guitar excursion from Khidja, as well as the first ever remix commissioned from legendary greek electronic composer Lena Platonos.

The next release on Zone is another mighty one, this time from electro and techno duo Mikron with a great remix from The Exaltics.

Mikron is a no nonsense duo who have already put out a full length this year in the form of Warning Score' on Central Processing Unit. As well as that cohesive opus, they have credits on this label dating back to 2012 and have the sort of high impact, toughened style that always makes a mark.

The brilliantly gurgling and steely Ulterior' kicks things off with sheet metal hits, slithering bass and buffed-up synth sounds that make you jerk your body. It's direct stuff for the dancefloor, and so is Vanguard'. Though less quick and in your face than the opening track, it still has the sort of crisp groove that has real impact. A distant cosmos of howling winds and thundering rumbles add weight to the whole thing and really finishes it in style.

'Foresight' is even more haunting and spooky. Chilly metal pads spiral in the background, lurching drums and hits bring the groove and the mood overall is truly unsettling. It's devastating stuff that gets completed with Clone and Shipwrec artist The Exaltics' take on Ulterior'. The German has fun layering in Drexcyia style, ripped-up synths and crisp hits. It's macho and post apocalyptic and is as inviting as it is austere.

All four cuts here are standout electro offerings from one of the best duos in the game.

Charlois present Where is the Champion, Timothy J. Fairplay's first full length solo album. Twelve shifting, shuffling and shimmering tracks make up this debut. Cruising the highways and byways between proto-techno, horror disco and forlorn wave, Fairplay conjures up his creations from metal and smoke. Saturated snares, clipped claps and warbling chords are dusted with distortion. And this idea of distortion, manipulation and the blurred line is omnipresent. Innocent and sinister, cruel and playful, accepted boundaries are brazenly ignored as engines growl and synthlines soar.

More space age melancholic sounds for the second instalment of the Craigie Knowes Universal Broadcast series. Electro to Techno across 4 celestial beats.

House Is OK, but Oli, Janis and Homeboy never said they were exclusively a house label. Introducing House Of Life and DGF to the world, they make a slight change in direction. This split 7 single leaves the world of 4/4 interpretations and takes the imprint to the land of creep hop' and trip pop". House Of Life is a project of Chaveli Sifre Riestra & Nikias Chryssos. They make songs about men who dance with no pants, Jesus Christ, Satan, and darkroom murderers. Their lyrics are channeled through occult rites, internet forums, computer codes, and therapy sessions. Hans With No Pants' tells the story of a guy who likes to party with kids, eat cake and serve cool drinks. He lives in a house by the beach and invites guests to dance with him, but what goes on in his basement remains an unspoken mystery. On the flip, a number from DGF, a project of Nikias & label honcho Janis. Greif Meine Hand' was originally written for the original soundtrack of Nikas' short film The Grandfather". After it got to the 2nd place on the Intergalactic FM demo competition and got props by the likes of I-f, Rude66 and DJ TLR, we decided to give it a second chance by putting it on this lush 45.

Schaltkreis Wassermann is one of the pioneering electronic groups of the early eighties. Their album PSYCHOTRON of 1982 has become a much sought after cult object.Now In Flagranti have remixed released and unreleased material by Schaltkreis Wassermann from the early 80ies.

The first release on Bloc's new label features the emotive synth-drenched vision of newcomer Jake Chudnow. The blissed-out exaltation of Shona has soundtracked the resurgence of Bloc and we are thrilled to be able to make it available in circular format for people.


This double A side 12'' also features the virtuoso Prelude to Shona, a beatless, ambient exploration of issues which will remain unresolved until the listener embarks on Shona itself.

The next 12" from Departures Records comes from Croatian
producer and Low Income Squad label boss SZCH. After his well received releases on LLL and his own imprint, he joins Departures with an EP that boasts his trademark raw and distorted sound.

A year after his last outing on the label, Andrew Red Hand is back on MOS Deep with another fine four track offering. Known as the Romanian Underground Resistance, Red Hand also works with labels like Detroit Underground and has a timeless house and techno sound that is always uncompromising.

'Lonely Heart' opens things up in spritely fashion, with frazzled synths circling round a rooted rubbery groove. The lines grown more wild and untethered as things roll on an it is sure to carry floors away to another dimension.
'Sleepless Nights' is another busy cut, with gurgling acid wrestling with more serene and soulful synth smears. Bristling and brimming with energy, it's a fluid bit of techno that is as classic as it is fresh.
'Dry Tears' is another fulsome arrangement, with light and shiny synths, gritty bas notes and airy hi hats all jostling for your attention and last of all, 'Moms Spirit' soars off to the horizon on a smooth house tip, with rueful pads, sweeping strings and elastic bass really getting you on your toes. These are clean, crisp, accomplished tracks that cannot fail to make their mark.

Since the release of their debut album in 2007, Justice has been tirelessly touring the world by bus, road festival to festival and concerts all over throughout the planet. Since their first tour, the band developed a powerful stage design that they polished and magnified throughout the years and the gigs. Opening with a distorted sort-of-squished-marimba sounding synth which puts you somewhere hot, tropical & psychedelic - not sure if I'm thinking Sahara or Amazon here - Boom Miami is a slow electro-dub workout, whilst the Version takes a more minimal tech approach. Cesco Chavo on the flip feels much colder, like a really expansive take on Skweee. The EP closes with a Mike M remix of Cesco Chavo, strongly recalling early Autechre & other 90s Warpesque artists.' - Generation Bass

It was in June of 1980. After a long and intense journey through time and space, Rupert Marnie met spiritual highness Frater loannis and became his apprentice. The Magus told him invaluable things, like controlling his precious bodily fluids and the holistic mastery of others' endocrine glands. The greatest wisdom though reached him on his seventh day, when Frater loannis professed him an an-cient ritual that would allow him to meet the Titan Ufohagen, also known as CDboy. It was the 4th, when he appeared, dressed in a long, slim silk cloak, a sprinkling wand in his right. Rupert stood in awe, immediately losing his newly gained fluid control, and started crafting a piece of music, that would remind mankind that not all is lost, as long as there is almighty Ufohagen.

Formed in 1983 as an experiment to break the mold of the classic disco dance sound, Charlie was the vehicle for musician and producer Maurizio Cavalieri who had found fame with Italian disco group Firefly. Cavalieri had been listening to the new crop of UK Synthpop and New Wave like Depeche Mode and Heaven 17 and wanted to create a more electronic, futuristic sound. He recruited his friend Giorgio Stefani to help write the song and compose lyrics. Spacer Woman' was recorded in Vicenza, Italy and released by Cavalieri's own Mr. Disc Organization in 1983. The track features the signature Italo Linn Drum machine as well as the Roland TR-808 and a Yamaha DX7 for the arpeggiated synthesizer melody. "Spacer Woman" spans over seven-minutes and features the spaced-out vocals of Stefani's wife, who sings through a vocoder. The single has become a cult revival track since its appearance on the legendary I-f mix CD ''Mixed Up In The Hague'' in 2001. This reissue also features the sought after instrumental mix where the sharp synthesized bassline really comes to the forefront. For the first time ever, the 12' is housed in a silver, metallic picture sleeve with an android female model drawing, taken from the original 7' jacket. Each copy includes a 2-sided post card insert with lyrics. Eerie and unforgettable more than 30 years later, Spacer Woman' is the ideal robotic space-age love song.

San Francisco-bred now Berlin-based Mr Dave Aju has been making some of the most forward-thinking electronic music for the last 13 years. A diverse range of influences from his jazz upbringing and hip-hop years, to the outer realms of experimental post-rock and musique concrete can be heard in Aju's unique sound, always with a solid sense of rhythm owed to his roots as a dancer.His new ep for Matthew Herbert's new label imprint Accidental Jnr comes in the form of Boom Yeah. An explosive mix of shuffling breaks, tribal tinged house and chant like vocal incantations. The 3 tracks of the EP were each inspired by three volcanic islands: La Reunion, Maui, and Bali (Boom Yeah, Haleakala, and Badai respectively) using handmade percussion instruments from each of the islands of origin.Boom Yeah EP' is released on 12 vinyl and digitally with a remix of the title track from Matthew Herbert.

elektrifiziert und höchstwahrscheinlich mit freundlicher Studiotechnikunterstützung seines Förderers Brian
Eno. 1980 erschien das gute Stück und gilt heute als Meisterwerk der frühen Ambient-Musik. Jetzt wird es als
CD und Vinyl (+ CD) wieder veröffentlicht.

Electronic Emergencies' first release in 2017 is Histoire d'une Ame by Peine Perdue, the acclaimed synthpop/minimal wave duo from Paris and Berlin. The EP, which is divided into four tableaux, tells a story that was inspired by 80s cult movie Therese, directed by Alain Cavalier, about the mystical suffering of a nun who becomes a saint. Expect nebulous acid wave chansons with mysterious French lyrics.

Dieses veranlasste Moritz R®, Pyrolator und Frank Fenstermacher, zum ersten Mal seit über 20 Jahren in Originalbesetzung einen neuen Track aufzunehmen und diesen als Single zu veröffentlichen: "Gefährliche Clowns" in der Version des Jahres 2016. Ergänzt wird die rot gefärbte 7'' durch das 1979 aufgenommene Original sowie die 1988er-Version vom Album "Fette Jahre".

Rotten City Records welcomes a new citizen, but not a newcomer tothe scene. He is Luca Rocca atagliati, best known as Dj Rocca, a veteran dj and producer from Italy,half Ajello, half Supersonic Lovers, half fromCrimea , a third ofElectric Tree and regular contributor with legendary Dj's like Daniele Baldelli or Dimitri From aris. After his multiple releases on labels like Is It Balearic , Nang or Futureboogie, Luca joins to our beloved rotten city with two original tracks showing his darker, narcotic and narrative side, concocting a bizarre and labyrinthine disco, which develops a spiral shaped staircase from the inside. He is the same Dj Rocca away from the cliches, who seek for more punch, more flexible rhythms, heartfelt emotions, and does not pursue the easy impact. Channa Six and Popi box are composed during a period in which he was searching for new sounds, creating a sort of cosmic pshychedelic aggressive taste of sound as far as Channa Six is concernid and a soundtrack abstract style in regards to Popi Box. Technically the tracks are based on a main arp, thanks to his new toy (at the time) Doepfer Dark Time, and both tracks have that spooky sound thanks to the Korg Trident synth which is a champion within the retro future sound. Many influences can be named here: Firstly, Channa Six was composed when he was really into listening to albums from Liaison Dangerous, Shock Corridor and Shrieckback... that sort of new wave sick electro with a huge mental big emotional atmosphere are very prensent in the track.Popi Box was made when Luca was really addicted to Soderbergh's The Knick series,and the Cliff Martinez soundtrack really blew his mind at the time. That is also very noticiable. The Ep is complemented by the personal approaches of British MR TC (Optimo Music) and the legendary Justin Robertson (Deadstock 33s). Thefirst one, if possible, makes the original a bit more druggy, while the second cut makes Popi Box sound more mechanical and industrial, creating that feeling of waiting for euphoria to break down. Insane.

Musik verfallen sind, ist längst kein Geheimnis mehr. Und dass Chic, die Band um Nile Rogers und Bernard
Edwards, mit ihren Songs den Blueprint für etliche Disco-, Soul- und Hip-Hop-Tracks lieferten, weiß auch
jeder. Nicht zuletzt Negro selbst wurde von Chics Musik maßgeblich beeinflusst. Was läge also näher, als
eine Compilation, für die Joey Negro 13 der besten von Chic beeinflussten Disco-Tracks zusammenfasst
Gesagt, getan, "Le Freak - Music Inspired by Chic" katapultiert uns noch mal mit Hochdruck in die späten
70er-Jahre.

Nach Releases auf Correspondent und Hivern Disc bescheren die beiden Italiener Marvin & Guy Permanent Vacation den ersten 12" Release im neuen Jahr. Viermal Creepy Disco Wave mit zeitlosem Route-66-Flavour und einem Vocalfeature der mexikanischen Hotties Zombies In Miami.

Mystica Tribe, the dub tribal master from Tokyo, drops his 5th EP and it comes with a superb Chrissy remix. Taka Noda aka Mystica Tribe returns to his own label, Mystica Tribe Records, with this banging 4 track dubby techno-ish bomb. It's deep dub all around on titletrack Jade Eyes, with the trademark Mystica Tribe melodica lifting the spacey, catchy oriental inspired melody. The Chrissy remix of Jade Eyes is a dubby disco party banger, instantly ready for the dancefloor. There are two more dub beauties on this EP: Love Light and Nightbird. Both tracks drive on deep melodies with Nightbird having beautiful oriental influences. It's the soundtrack to a Japanese spaceship crashing into the desert, its passengers getting picked up by passing nomads, ending up in a smoke filled oasis with palmtrees and belly dancers. Essential stuff for dub heads.

Mono Junk delivers four pieces of pure Finnish melancholia for Rat Life's 7th release. This guy is a true European techno originator and like no one he reflects the darkness of the long, cold and lonely winters of suomi in his music. While listening to these tracks you will find yourself wondering: are these voices coming from the speakers or are you listening to your own morbid thoughts Perfect soundtrack for your winter depression. Can't understand what you say!

For their first release of 2017, Phuture Shock Excursions venture further afield with an accomplished remix package, featuring two reworks of Nubian Mindz'(Colin Lindo) soulful house gem 'Somebody Else' - which appeared in its original form on last years 'EXCURSIONS' # 3 split EP.

On this bold occasion the Bristol imprint have enlisted the masterful talents of Cavern of Anti-Matter - the latest side project led by Stereolab co-founder Tim Gane. Having so far remixed songs by mainly indie-rock artists, the Berlin-based outfit turn their hand to the disparate realms of underground dance music for the first time. Also lending their seasoned expertise and going against the grain is Sean O'Hagan - the frontman of experimental indie-pop stalwarts The High Llamas.

Residing on the A-side is Cavern of Anti-Matter's epic reconstruction, which eschews the synth- heavy kosmische explorations they're widely known for, in favour for a more dance floor-leaning direction that takes Lindo's vocals on a funky, kaleidoscopic trip across the galaxy via 80s Detroit. Laced with crisp drum machine beats, groovy analogue synth lines aplenty and lush shimmering chords reminiscent of Gane's former groop, it sits somewhere between the raw electro-funk of Cybotron and quite possibly what The Neptunes would sound like if they made techno. While on the flipside Sean O'Hagan serves up a dreamy dub, where select fragments of the original vocals float across soothing passages of live instrumentation. Before the arrangement seamlessly flits between moments of jazzy electric piano grooves and swirling organs, through to melodic baroque pop interludes in 3/4 time - that probably wouldn't sound out of place in the scene of a Pixar animated movie. Shy of just three minutes in length, it's delightfully short and sweet, yet leaves you wanting more upon every listen.
