together with his buddy dj kent the japanese producer and ardent record collector kza already wrote some music history. under the name force of nature the two friends from tokyo created a rich oeuvre of not dated music under the guidance of their large vinyl collection.
beside their own work they produced and remixed in and outside of japan artists such as dj shadow, five deez, sly mongoose, or keiichi sokabe.
in the last years force of nature been quite in terms of collective production work. kza, who once started his music career as a dj for hiphop, soul and funk, released a solo album and a string of highly acclaimed 12inches on endless flight while dj kent emerged with his own unique sound and musical style to one of the most highly respected djs of japan.
now kza is ready to release his second solo longplayer - dig & edit 2' - an album whose title tells much about the production of itself. like for the antecessor - dig & edit ' a voluminous record collection and the ears of an unlimited music lover has helped kza to shape his unique sample based arrangements.
anew he went through his vinyl library between midnight and morning searching for miscellaneous rhythms, harmonies, and melodies that he could turn into something fresh, new, and singular. as he is in love with loops and trained his ears by the work of sample grandmasters like pete rock, large professor, or marley marl he knows exactly where to cut and edit - a skill that makes his music never sound like a conventional edit production.
with plenty of studio artifice, the help of his friend kuniyuki, and some super tight editional bass and rhythm programming that has been added to the original sources he produced tracks that gently balance between breezy disco fever, laidback balearian slowmo emotions, and highflying house attacks.
each of them is full of sensual grooves and is charged with catchy folk, rock, disco, or library samples who's origin can be only deciphered by those who dig records as deep as kza does.
of course, all listeners who aren't into record digging will have plenty of pleasure too. because it is not necessary to know which mysterios source kza used. one can easily be carried away by his wave of grooving arrangements without thinking about where they are originated. some of the tracks that are listening to german and french names like - computerstimme' or - vous dansez' evoke the feeling of a sweaty disco night, some feed hungry house floors with real deep fodder, and others are ready to function as a sunset soundtrack wherever the sun goes down.
when kza produces them he had a dancing audience in mind that moves to his exquisite dj selection. that is why each track carries the groove to the melody and way back to deliver music that took some inspiration from the past in order to spread something that is made for the future. as kza would like to have the superpower of teleportation he invented it by himself. it is musical model and it can travel very far!

In little over a 2 month campaign Valentina has been so very received by radio with online press and print press too. She's crept into
a couple of radio shows thus far with "Wolves" being dropped on the Phil & Alice (Radio 1) show already
Her online presence has grown from strength to strength since we launched an exclusive stream with Gorilla vs Bear. Since that

really solid right now. (please see Toast online report attached)
Press wise we're just closing in on all the features now. The Notion Magazine have already confirmed a feature which is out.
Further press highlights NME's On Repeat, Buzz and/ or Radar, Time Out based around the EP launch on the 2nd May. The Sunday

Ihr drittes Soloalbum - nach "I Com" (2004) und "Batbox" (2007) - heißt "Calling From The Stars".

Disruption and interference aren't words you ordinarily associate with pop or dance music, but Planningtorock is on a mission to unseat all norms. On her new album All Love's Legal, she leaves you in no doubt as to the seriousness of her vision of transnational gender equality. Surprisingly, given that Western dance music is born out of black, queer music, it rarely touches upon these themes, but All Love's Legal is a refreshingly direct statement of political intent.

The MIKE series returns as a split 12" this go round, featuring Mike Simonetti (Italians Do It Better) and Chris Burns. The two have been collaborating and producing music under the ingenious name "M+C" for a few years now, and Chris also worked as engineer on Mike's debut record "Capricorn Rising" last year. We are hoping to see some sort of M+C release out soon on Italians Do It Better, but in the meantime this will have to suffice. The two each split a side of a record this time, delivering no holds barred, peak hour tracks in the handy house bootleg format. Edition of 300 copies. No digital. Punks is Hippies

« Mort à Vegas » (« Death in Vegas » in French...) is the new 12'' E.P. by Adrien Viot aka AV, one of the finest protagonists on the new 'frenchy but chic' electronic pop scene. AV sings the nightlife, paid sex, alcohol over-consumption, desire under the neon lights, dark side of the american dream, driving a black Cadillac drunk to death....
This 12'' EP contains a dreamlike remix of « Mort à Vegas » by DEATH IN VEGAS (as the track was probably written with him in mind!) but also a cover of French singer Dominique A, known in France for being the one who launched the « new French scene » that drove the renewal of the French Pop.
AV has still this elegant crooner voice that slowly caresses you before driving you on the dancefloor, so let his deep voice and those melodic synths & guitars seduce you. Limited to 500 copies on black vinyl. Including download coupon.

How The Other Half Lives presents Herman Brahns. No, you won't know the name, but you may know some of the producers behind it. Ned Pegler (aka Medlar aka Klic), Caradog Jones and Tom Stiedl came together in the Summer of 2012 and on a long afternoon their slow-mo arpeggio workout "53py9" was formed. Ned and Tom then collaborated again on the ominously dark and hard-hitting "Pilot" during another long afternoon in the same house during the same Summer. Both tracks were swiftly recorded semi-live with the minimum of fiddling after the fact, taking inspiration from Wax Trax era dancefloor Industrial, Italo, synth soundtracks (particularly the work of John Carpenter)...and of course the endless suffering and sorrow of existence. Scott Fraser of Bird Scarer, World Unknown and Horn Wax fame and the legendary DMX Krew grace the b-side with a pair of outstanding reinterpretations.
Early support comes from Daniel Avery (who featured Scott's remix on his recent Resident Advisor podcast), Tim Sweeney, Optimo's JD Twitch, Bicep, Luke Abbott, Cosmo Vitelli and many more.

"Rave Tapes" entstand im bandeigenen Castle Of Doom Studio in Glasgow.

Breakbeat Paradise Recordings is very pleased to welcome back Tom Drummond with a brand new party rockin' - booty shaking EP. 4 fresh new ghetto jams - straight from the western shores of Australia. Last year has been a very successful year for Tom Drummond, who recently release a tune on the almighty Ghetto Funk label and tunes on Chopshop,Tru-Funk & Good Groove as well as several remixes right here on Breakbeat Paradise Recordings.
The Thick Shake EP is following up after the huge Rock The Rhythm vinyl EP that was release on BBP in 2012. Once again this release shows Tom's unique blend on party breaks mashup tunes with a good doze of ghetto bass. The hiphop vibes are always the driving force in Tom Drummonds tunes, so there is plenty to go around for both the ladies and fellas on the dance floors.
We are proud to start out another great year with this being the 15th vinyl to be released on Breakbeat Paradise Recordings. Big ups to all the vinylheadz out there, who supports our vinyls and making it possible to keep the vinyl alive!

In 2006 a young unknown David E Sugar rocked up at a Greco-Roman party armed with two nintendo gameboys and a guitar pedal
and blew us all away with the ensuing hour of acid. The night was so legendary that he wrote a song about it for our New York
Soundclash a few weeks later: "Oi New York, This Is London, Oi New York Greco-Roman Soundsystem" ... and, quite by accident,
the record label was born. A little black round piece of history accompanied by remixes from Skream, Hot Chip, Ragga Twins and
Jesse Rose.

Two years after his landmark debut Aftertime, former Vex'd member Roly Porter presents his second full length LP, Life Cycle Of A Massive Star. The piece explores expansive scale and macroscopic processes through the thematic framework of the birth and death of a cosmic star system. The album is underpinned by a parallel investigation into the human response to this vast celestial order and its overarching dialogue with the infinitesimal lives we lead. The material considers the crucible of space as a poignant symbol of the brevity of existence and highlights humanity's part as both observers and participants in an endless cosmic cycle of creation and destruction. Whilst the album continues on from Porter's previous work, through fractured eruptions and volcanic textures, it equally invokes a more historical mode of reflection. Enacting a distant remembrance of the history of electronic music and a dreamlike recollection of a Wagnerian landscape. "Life Cycle Of A Massive Star" will be released on vinyl with a gatefold sleeve and CD on October 7th by Subtext Recordings.
