Der in Seattle wohnhafte Produzent und Songwriter Benoît Pioulard aka Thomas Meluch ist in der Shoegazeund Electronica-Szene heimisch. Gemeinsam mit Rafael Anton Irisarri aka The Sight Below hat Meluch unter dem Namen Orcas bereits zwei introvertierte Ambient-Pop-Alben beim Berliner Label veröffentlicht. Im mannigfaltigen Kanon der KOMPAKT-Künstler hat sich TERRANOVA schnell als eigenständige Stimme etabliert - auch wortwörtlich, wie ein schneller Blick auf die lange Liste an Gastsängern beweist, welche durch HOTEL AMOUR (KOMPAKT 248) gelotst wurden, das letztjährige Album des hochgeschätzten Projekts. Die Künstler, die das französische Duo Housse De Racket zu ihrem dritten Album inspiriert haben, lesen sich ebenso abwechslungsreich, wie sich die Platte selbst anhört: Fleetwood Mac, Spacemen 3, XTC, Steel Pulse, Alan Vega, Ravel, Laurie Anderson, Miles Davis, Television - keine schlecht Referenzliste. Das Album entstand nach einer Welttour im Apartment des Sängers und Gitarristen Pierre Leroux auf dem Pariser
Montmartre. Die magische und hypnotische Kraft im Viertel um Sacre-Coeur hinterließ unweigerlich Spuren auf "The Tourist", einem Album, das die Band als einen "Geisteszustand", als eine "Reise ohne Bewegung" beschreibt. Während der Titeltrack sowohl Depeche Mode als auch die Beatles zitiert, um sich dann in einen Jetzt-alle-mal-die-Arme-hoch-Rave zu verwandeln, ist "Encore" ein wahrer Stomper, der die Frage stellt:

Agostino Casillo, born in 1985, begins to approach music in the late '90s, influenced by the house sounds that characterize those years. Never shut up in one genre, his desire to experiment led him to deepen the knowledge of all the trends related to electronic music, from 'house to techno, from deep to nu disco. Out of every scheme, his productions are very eclectic. He is currently resident in one of the most innovative party of Neapolitan underground scene, Nice To Be. In 2013 he release his first track ìSickî on Stop Clone Music, in January 2015 his second track ìMy Visionî was released on ìNice To Be Recordsî. Make It Right Ep is an abstract of all is musical background caught up into four great tracks.

Oof records is the home of DJ Oof & music agency Ping pong from Paris representing Ninja Tune since 1998. They signed Lunivers with the hit single "Happy Route" & remixes of Supermen Lovers. Now Aron Ottignon is opening more the spectrum & soon their biggest project called Dance Conscious.
New Zealand-born, Paris-based pianist Aron Ottignon has been steadily expanding his instrumental craft as a jazz pianist - both on
his own and in collaboration with artists such as Stromae and Woodkid. For his latest release, Ottignon sought out the production talents of fellow-antipodean Rodi Kirk, and enlisted UK steel pan and percussion virtuoso Samuel Dubois. The resulting 'Starfish EP is a kaleidoscopic ride through electronically-augmented, percussion-heavy 21st century jazz that also takes musical cues from a variety of non-Western music styles. Preparing to perform the EP in a live context, the challenge for the three musicians lay in recreating the intricacy and sonic detail of the studio recordings while leaving enough room for the energy and improvisation of a great performance. For his part, Rodi Kirk arrived at a solution involving Ableton Push, a Tempest drum machine, a mixing desk, and a custom Max for Live device. Thus, with the electronic elements on equal footing with the piano and percussion, the trio now had ample room to maneuver within Ottignon's dynamic compositions.
Ready to test themselves in front of an audience, for their debut performance Ottignon, Kirk and Dubois set up their instruments at
the historic Funkhaus Berlin for an intimate live recording session, and Ableton's camera crew was on hand to document the whole
performance. Already support by : James Holden, Recloose, Mawimbi, Paris dj's, Doc Daneeka, Ashley Beedle...

Cardopusher appears as if by magic on Super Rhythm Trax to drop four Acid bangers. There are no frills or pretensions here, just jugular acid trax that don't mess around. Straight up, solid and perfect for dark strobe lit basements. This EP channels the rawness with aplomb.

Tel Aviv's Red Axes are back on I'm a Cliché for the second instalment in their ongoing SHEM series. On this EP, four tracks that take different directions to reach the duo's signature sound while expanding the horizons of their already impressive production abilities. 

SHEMA hypnotic track driven by a simple, functional rhythm. Melodies, percussion, and sparse vocals give a distinctively human feel to the track's mechanical vibe. With brilliant use of space and subtle melodic variations, this track is reminiscent both of cosmic music and of timeless film scores in the spirit of Ennio Morricone's work.

OH KEY
Guitars, live percussion, synths and keyboards: this track is a throwback to Red Axes' early sound. With a hazy, slightly narcotic atmosphere thanks to the dance-inducing rhythm section and swirling guitar melodies, this is a fine piece of underwater surf rock whose potential in a club context must not be underestimated. 

SWEET JOHN GANG
If you've ever wondered what's the sound of an agogo rainfall, this is it. On this track where familiar latin percussion sounds are presented in a new light, Red Axes' ability to create playful and catchy melodies layered on an understated groove, heavily treated guitar and frequency oscillating synths is compelling. A psychedelic cut tested and approved on the dance floor by several high profile DJs in the last few months. 

MORE MORE AND MORE
The EP concludes with a track where a syncopated beat lets treated drums as well as slightly fuzzy bass line and synth stabs breathe through the mix. These dark elements contrast with lush pads, naive melodies optimistic chords and otherworldly horns. The result produces a fluid groove and much depth on this highly danceable track that seems to be Tel Aviv's response to The Hague's classic electro sound.

Rare Self produced tape from 1993 - LP including free bonus cd , limited to 500 handnumbered copies.
It's been exactly 20 years since the first SUICIDE COMMANDO album "Critical Stage" was released on the German Off Beat label.
It was the promising start of a long and ultimatily succesful career and today SUICIDE COMMANDO can be easily described as on of THE leading harsh electro acts in the alternative scene.
What some of you might not know is that Johan Van Roy still released 9 (!) tapes before releasing his debut album in 1994.
"Electro Convulsion Therapy" was the last and without any doubt the most succesfull tape released in 1993. It already contained the original 4 track recordings of later clubhits like "Traumatize", "Necrophilia" or "Time", but also featured other pearls like "Close Your Eyes", "Sheer Horror" or "How It Feels".
"Electro Convulsion Therapy" holds the complete last tape on lp, but also contains a selection of the best songs from the other early tapes released between 1988 and 1992, including several rare songs and even one previously unreleased song as a bonus on the free included cd version , all remastered by Eric Van Wonterghem at Prodam Berlin 2015.

Es geht los mit DJ Slugo, einem der Chicago Juke / Ghetto House Pioniere, und seiner kompromisslosen Tiefbass-808-Booty-Shake Juke-Version; danach klopft Johnny Dangerous in seiner Foremost Poets Mental Version "Strange Sounds" den Track richtig weich. Seine Synkopen-Synthie-Stöhnvocal-Version verdient ihren Namen in jedem Fall. Side A features two tracks from Styro2000's Le Bal EP "Deselected", out on the same date, June 25th. Styro2000, Zurich's master of modular analogue systems and of "Galoppierende Zuversicht" fame with legendary live performances at Burning Man, is back with a solo release featuring his carefully crafted trademark sound of analogue minimal techno that seduces the listener with its rhythmic patterns and sonic waves.

Side AA features the third and final installment of the "Strange Sounds" remixes by Le Bal's own Manuel Mind & Valentino Tomasi. While in Volumes 1 & 2 (LEBAL1201/1202, LEBAL002), we invited mainly producers from our native Switzerland - Andri, Canson, Marco Repetto et al. - this time, we asked some international remixers to complete their visions of the track. It starts with DJ Slugo, one of the pioneers of Chicago Juke / Ghetto House, and his uncompromising deep bass 808 booty-shake Juke version; after that, Foremost Poets' Johnny Dangerous beats "Strange Sounds" with a bat, and out comes a syncope-driven "Mental" version that fully deserves its name. At last, Berlin-based Mijk van Dijk delivers a funky track with a boogie feel you feel the need to dance to.

Tricky liebt Veränderungen. Er ist ständig in Bewegung und mutiert immer wieder, um sich
weiterzuentwickeln. Nach seinem Umzug nach Berlin Anfang 2015 begann er sofort die Arbeit an seinem
nächsten Musikprojekt. Dieses trägt den Titel Skilled Mechanics. Bei Skilled Mechanics handelt es sich um
ein lockeres Kooperationsgefüge, welches ihm erlaubt mit verschiedenen Künstlern und Sängern
zusammenzuarbeiten, während er gleichzeitig seinen eigenen, einzigartigen Gesang in den Vordergrund
stellen kann. Der prominenteste Partner ist DJ Milo, bekannt als Teil der Wild-Bunch-Crew. Neben
Gastauftritten der chinesischen Rapperin Ivy , der Londoner Sängerin Renata Platon und der dänischen
Singer/Songwriterin Oh Land steuert auf dem selbstbetitelten Debüt auch Trickys aktuelle Sängerin
Francesca Belmonte einen Song bei. Eher durch Zufall entdeckte Tricky die tolle Stimme seines regulären
Tour-Drummers Luke Harris, der so zu einem wichtigen Akteur des Ganzen wurden. Das Album "Skilled
Mechanics" wird auf Trickys eigenem Label False Idols veröffentlicht.

Joey LaBeija has earned himself the reputation of an underground club music deity in his native town of New York City. The Bronx-bred producer/DJ is revered for his rhythmic assaults on sound systems: combining a celebration of his Puerto Rican heritage (i.e. Big Pun and Wisin Y Yandel) with his love for the more extreme/experimental corners of electronic music (from Bjork to friends, Rabit and Lotic). As a fourth generation House of LaBeija emissary, Joey is less interested in plainly referencing the traditional sound of ballroom and vogue, but instead seeks out new pathways to further immerse listeners into his personal experience. Shattered Dreams, Joey's first proper body of work, marks a bold step forward in this artistic inquiry. On Shattered Dreams, we hear Joey pouring his darkest time as an adult into the music: a single year full of life losses amidst the walls of an unforgiving metropolis. From start to finish, it is a story told through the sprawl of daydreamt melodies, amorphous noise resembling the multi-appendage clatter of insects, and tattered beds of abrasive percussion. Much like his style of playing live, there is no single set genre as Shattered Dreams winds forward, instead he mines various stylistic cues - the upbeat stutter step of either Timbaland or that of grime ('Over' and 'Joey's Inferno'), for instance - until revealing the tender, reverberating echoes of sounds unfound beneath the breaking sediment. This album is a hard barrel roll left, away from his well-secured club stature. It is, instead, an intrepid dive into the pain of mind.

While Shattered Dreams was debuted by The Fader as a stream-only mix last August (making FACT's 'Best of the Year' list and receiving high praise in Mixmag's November issue), Purple Tape Pedigree is proud to be assigned the responsibility of officially releasing the album with tracks split and re-touched to utmost dynamic clarity by the masterful Rashad Becker. This is a new beginning, as well as the most ideal way for PTP to start a new year.

Fodd Dod debut recording is a beautiful portrayal of disappointment - one that could be aimed at anything and could be added onto any situation or relation. Whether it is aimed at the impossible symmetry of male/female chemistry, one's own shortcomings, or the shortness of life, Fodd Dod translates to "Born Dead", the subject of the disappointment is not important - it is not why, but rather how. The six tracks that form the record offer no solution, they dont even hint at one. Track by track "Studie i Narhet, Langtan och Besvikelse" drags you further down, using simple machine drum rhythms and droney synth melodies combined with SARS signature mourns - but with enough skill and enough progression to never lose its aim, without ever becoming stagnant. What separates Varg and SARS' work as 'Fodd Dodd', from many of the "minimal synth wave" projects of the last years genre revival, is that you for once believe in the emotion being transmitted. The project, however similar in approach to other bands, current and past, does not feel forced. So even if the emotional quest of the record is to dwell in disappointment, the record as a listening experience does the exact opposite. The inescapable nerve in the six pieces is so strong, that one ends up feeling captivated rather than disappointed." -Loke Rahbek

In advance of this incisive event, the band gives you a taste of the opulences to be expected with the 12' release of MY ORBIT (KOMPAKT 278) - one of the album's surefire highlights escorted by two brilliant remixes from upcoming luminaries DAUWD and CLOUDS.

Clocking in at over than 6 minutes, title-track "Alma Do Meu Pai" is a game-changer, 3x longer than the average batida track, a deep running hypnotic percussion grid showcasing all the rhythmic flow Firmeza inherited and perfect from his admiration of classic DJ Nervoso beats.

"Somos Melão Doce" introduces plucked synthetic strings that sound totally alien in this context but with a precise emotive agenda. Opening side B, "Os PDDG" namechecks Firmeza's ground-breaking crew he shared with Liofox (co-authoring this track), Dadifox, Maboku and Lilocox (both now active as CDM). The tempo is comparatively relaxed, percussion drops are stars in their own right, lending an avant-garde edge to this most tribal dance.In "Start Go", assertive chants dance around each other, in and out of sync, securing a safe path for the heavy duty percussion workout. By the time we reach "Coelho 2025", it's more than evident we are locked in Firmeza's own intricate web of rhythm; forget notions of kuduro or afrohouse, this is really something else, a pulsating heart linked to stomping feet in a most elegant way. "Suposto" adds flute and clipped guitar as atmosphere enhancers, balancing the usual genius percussion work. Bouncy and intuitive, one for dancers who enjoy making shapes in the air with their hands.

Debut Album from Tel Aviv artists Niv Arzi and Dori Sadovnik

Red Axes is Niv Arzi and Dori Sadovnik, two young men who have always lived in Tel-Aviv and have been making music together since the noughties. Ballad of the Ice is their debut album. Their artistic travels have taken them from the rock scene to the dancefloors, and to creating an album. More than a summary, this LP is an invitation to discover a singular musical identity: a ballad of the ice, a song as light as love and cold as a tunnel, springy as a dance step and deep as nostalgia.

Medical Records in close collaboration with Disko Obscura Records presents a special split 7" showcasing 1 new track each by ((PRESSURES)) and Roladex. ((PRESSURES)) hails from New Orleans, LA. They craft their unique futuristic icy tracks on a museum's worth of analog synths and drum machines. This release follows their first LP on Disko Obscura entitled "Casting Shadows". Their contribution "The Voices" is a propulsive and dripping with synth textures track featuring vocoded vocals. Roladex (a veteran of Medical Records already with their "Anthems For the Micro-Age" LP) hails from Seattle by way of Texas. Blending girl/boy vocals with catchy pop hooks drenched in a seductive melancholy, Roladex also uses a plethora of vintage gear. "Glass Statuette" is their new track for this 7" and features their signature sound with a bit of an evolution into Moroder-esque cascading arpeggios. Fans of both artists will surely want this in their collection. Lux Rec continue their endless research at the margins of music, what is underground, at every latitude, to find rough gems and bring them to light.
After a series of releases which explore Techno in various ways, they turned their attention to another field. That of the Cold Electronics and New Wave movement, and French musical existentialism.

Cold Colors comes from Bordeaux, France. To Lux Rec he is the best expression of and a new take on that type of music. A sense of solitude is the first reaction to his music. The second single release from Thomas Schumachers critically acclaimed album STAND UP is a collaboration featuring none other than the fabulous Chelonis R. Jones.

Chelonis is an electropop musician, painter, poet, singer, songwriter and producer. Born and raised in California and New York, he is currently living in Europe. Thomas and Chelonis first crossed paths when Thomas remixed his song"Black Sabrina" in 2005 and again while they were releasing on Get Physical. Right at the begining of the recordings for STAND UP, Thomas produced a playback specifically with Chelonis in mind, imagining his unmistakable falsetto voice, referencing Curtis Mayfield. Chelonis was immediately on board and very soon after delivered the amazing performace that is, IS YOUR KETTLE ON

The original album version is a sparse piece of Electronica driven by an old school, downtempo 808 beat with an outstanding, emotional vocal performance from Chelonis R. Jones.

With remixes from Kris Menace, Douglas Greed, Kai von Glasow and Thomas Schumacher himself, the fifth release on Electric Ballroom will be out in july 2013

Tonträger voller Raritäten und Klassiker zu Stande, die den geschichtsbewussten Connaisseuren die
Freudentränen in die Augen treiben. Nach der Postpunk-Retrospektive "Disco Not Disco" und der Factory-
Records-Kompilation "Fac. Dance" hat sich der DJ und Kultproduzent Trevor Jackson ("The Playgroup") den
tanzbaren Seiten von Industrial, Postpunk und EBM angenommen und für den Sampler "Metal Dance" 28
Stücke zusammengestellt, die einst im Zeitraum 1980-88 erschienen. Mit von der Partie sind unter anderem
Cabaret Voltaire, Nitzer Ebb, DAF, Jah Wobble, The Bubblemen, SPK, 400 Blow, Yello, Alien Sex Fiend,
John Carpenter & Alan Howarth oder Ledernacken. Inspiriert durch seine bereits zwei Jahrzehnte währende
DJ-Tätigkeiten gelang es Jackson dabei ganz vortrefflich, sich bei seiner Aufgabe weniger von allzu
offensichtlichen Hits blenden zu lassen, als vielmehr die Stücke auszuwählen, die spürbar den dunklen
Maschinenfunk atmen. Das macht "Metal Dance" zu einer so tanzbaren wie spannenden Angelegenheit.

Tricky liebt Veränderungen. Er ist ständig in Bewegung und mutiert immer wieder, um sich
weiterzuentwickeln. Nach seinem Umzug nach Berlin Anfang 2015 begann er sofort die Arbeit an seinem
nächsten Musikprojekt. Dieses trägt den Titel Skilled Mechanics. Bei Skilled Mechanics handelt es sich um
ein lockeres Kooperationsgefüge, welches ihm erlaubt mit verschiedenen Künstlern und Sängern
zusammenzuarbeiten, während er gleichzeitig seinen eigenen, einzigartigen Gesang in den Vordergrund
stellen kann. Der prominenteste Partner ist DJ Milo, bekannt als Teil der Wild-Bunch-Crew. Neben
Gastauftritten der chinesischen Rapperin Ivy , der Londoner Sängerin Renata Platon und der dänischen
Singer/Songwriterin Oh Land steuert auf dem selbstbetitelten Debüt auch Trickys aktuelle Sängerin
Francesca Belmonte einen Song bei. Eher durch Zufall entdeckte Tricky die tolle Stimme seines regulären
Tour-Drummers Luke Harris, der so zu einem wichtigen Akteur des Ganzen wurden. Das Album "Skilled
Mechanics" wird auf Trickys eigenem Label False Idols veröffentlicht.

This release follows his live set at Computer Club, Sheffield, in 2014.

Ramona is ready to reveal yet another manmade mystery to humanity - "Reframe" by Benedikt Frey. Browsing through
Frey's back catalogue, one thing has always been certain with every new record released - Frey's music has always been
mystical, was working in different layers and has never been only a further development of the record before. "SH Birds"
enters the Single with waves of hypnotizing synth-sounds, a weird vocal-sample and an analog-driven beat. "Signals" has
a terribly wonderful build-up, starting with a basic rhythm from a kick-drum some hi-hat and a snare here and there and only
lives off carefully chosen soundscapes. "Mind The Gap" goes right the opposite way from the track before - a striking bass-
line throughout the track with a hunch of acid, a clap as hard as a smack to the head and mesmerizing vibes all over the
place. "Good Night Houston" marks the last track of "Reframe" and starts out with a dark soundscape that drives right into
an analogue outburst of old Chicago-ish acid-vibes and loses itself in the haze of deepness later on. Ramona is proud to

Baltimore's Co La, the creative cloak for Matt Papich, fabricates a club music environment where solidarity and psychosis enmesh.
Emerging from the humid undergrowth of 2013's Moody Coup, No No gathers tracks built during the northeastern deep freeze of 2014: sonically these songs are clear & uninsulated: cracking. No No is a reflection of Papich's interest in the never ending psycho-drama that is the American news cycle (f5 syndrome), blanketed with a style of auditory/performative humor that operates as a coping strategy, a modifier for an otherwise oblique sonic world.
Where Co La's past work focused on rendering impressions of physical spaces, designs and objects into broad musical forms, Papich now turns his interest inward, investigating the sensual and emotional aspects of terrestrial life. No No is inscribed with content - it points to basic fears/desires and scrambles them, creating an oddly emotional & alien dimension.
Simple inversion is a focal point of No No. Club culture categorically offers an escape from the real world for revelers. Co La, a seminal player in Baltimore's experimental club environment, (Club Undo), regularly abstracts the party into intellectually confrontational encounters, be it a rifle scope aimed directly on his forehead or building temporary soundsystems out of zipcars.

Mit seiner vitalen Subkulturszene war London zu dieser Zeit eine globale Drehscheibe für das Genre.
Mittendrin der junge Jeremy Newall. Er arbeitete bei einer Reihe der angesagtesten Plattenläden der Stadt, legte hie und da in Clubs sowie im Radio auf und kannte praktisch jeden House-DJ, der entweder in London lebte oder zum Auflegen in die Stadt kam. Er war das, was man einen "mover and shaker" nennt. Gerade DJs aus den Staaten drückten ihm regelmäßig Neuheiten und Testpressungen in die Hand. Vinyl, das nur in Kleinstauflage gepresst wurde und rein für den Moment gedacht war. Die schönsten hat Newall aufgehoben und zu einer einzigartigen Kompilation verschweißt: Neben einigen immer wieder gern gehörten Underground-Klassikern bietet "House Of Ages" eine exklusive Sammlung übersehener, unveröffentlichter und nicht mehr erhältlicher Edelsteine, beispielsweise von Roger Sanchez, Sandy Rivera, Terry Hunter und Jimi Polo.

Astro:Dynamics release the debut EP from Adam Oko, their third and final release of 2015 following a collaborative LP by BNJMN and Best Available Technology and the second volume of BAT's 'Excavated Tapes' series.

A keen collector of 1980's era Japanese electronic music and post-punk records, Oko has broadcasted mixes on NTS Radio including a Daevid Allen tribute show following his passing earlier this year. Diet of Germs is the London-based/Canterbury bred artist's first release - having previously remixed and collaborated with the likes of B£AMS, Kelpe, and Devon Loch for the ever excellent Kit Records - and demonstrates a keen ear for minimalist composition and frippertronic loops as well as the likes of Soft Machine and Haroumi Hosono, with a touch of almost Windham Hill-esque ambient.

Raven Bush of Syd Arthur contributes a solo on Suketo, and Portland's Best Available Technology successfully makes it onto all of the label's 2015 releases by rounding off the EP with an excellently smudged and downbeat re-imagining. Flash Cero started in Madrid in 1986 and with just a Roland Juno 60, one Casio 5000, a Simmons drum machine, some effects and basic equipment they recorded a demo with 6 tracks. After a few months the band finally got a contract with a Spanish label to record and release their debut album 1988'.

Founded in 1988, The Rorschach Garden is the solo project of Philipp Münch, mainly known from his works as Synapscape. In 1997, he stopped this project but was reactivated in 2001 and made its first public appearance at the Maschinenfest 2002 in Germany. Ever since, TRG has grown into a proper band and a great reputation for live performances. Their musical style has developed into a unique blend of electronic pop music and defies genre limitations. Since its reactivation, the project has released 8 regular albums.

"The Rorschach Dossier" is a compilation of tracks from out-of-print records released in early 2000's plus some rare and unreleased stuff.

Barotti is a musician and contemporary multimedia artist based in Berlin. After years of working on urban sound installations, performing arts and experimental music, he is now releasing his debut album. A soundtrack for fantastic futuristic fairytales. Epic and symphonic - with a deep electronic base. Armed with iconic analog gear of the 1970s and 1980s, a hand-picked group of high level classical string and horn players and the whole imaginary world of his absurd fantasies, Barotti is opening up a new dimension in the vast field between contemporary classical and electronic music. Rising stands firmly with one foot in the same mud as Woodkid and Sohn, and the other foot dipping into the past 200 years of classical music, resting in a lukewarm cocktail of Funkstörung and James Blake. The album was recorded in Casablanca and Berlin. Co-written and co-produced with Swedish composer Anders Ehlin and German producer Valentin Sommer. Biographical details: Arriving in Berlin in 2007 after completing his music studies in drums at the Siena Jazz Academy, Barotti has pursued a wide variety of activities in the art world. He quickly joined forces with Plastique-Fantastique, producers of inflatable urban architecture. Together they started creating interactive sound sculptures. Their installations have been exhibited at Saatchi Gallery, Clerkenwell Design Week London and Design Week Milan. Their latest work Sound of Light (made for Urbane Künste Ruhr) won the Let's Colour Award. Their work also extends into pop: they have designed a stage machine for Peaches, now touring around the world. Barotti has also worked with Asphalt Piloten, an interdisciplinary group of artists transforming public spaces.

Toxic Work Environment is the new EP from NYC's Ital. Following last year's stunning Endgame, T.W.E. expands on that album's dark precision and oozing paranoia. A vortex of late-capitalist panic, the first 3 tracks are vicious dancefloor weapons, creating a time-space tunnel from which the listener can't escape. Ups and downs move between moments of hypertension and fleeting liberation. Fourth track "The Citadel" shifts to a more contemplative place, with strange whispers and distant melodies, which G.O.D.'s remix then takes to an even murkier level inspired by the record's mood.

A forward-thinking dub strategy by Vienna's Ulrich Troyer delivered with radical reduction: an enormous hypnotic stream of sound positioned in a deep echo chamber, and rooted by ostinato iterations of a massive bass line. DEADLOCK (MELODICA VERSION) - deeply spiritual and so full of Nyabinghi feel without using any of the common reggae idioms. In fact, so much so that it convinced classic dub player VIN GORDON to contribute his unique trombone stylings. The result of the collaboration is DEADLOCK (VIN GORDON VERSION), undoubtedly the central track of the release.

DIDI KERN, one of Vienna's most prolific drummers adds sprinkles of futuristic percussion sounds to both DEADLOCK (VIN GORDON VERSION) and the heavily dubbed DEADLOCK (TALKBOX VERSION) - a playful, uptempo variation of the theme with additional talk box & vocoder layers.

Last but not least, DEADLOCK (KASSIAN TROYER REMIX) on the AA side is delivered as a completely re-constructed & reinvented version of the theme in a class on its own - both highly introspective and emotional.

"We Will Not Harm You" sees "UK bass legend" (Mixmag) Dobie release his first album since 1997's classic, "The Sound Of One Hand Clapping" (Pussyfoot). Thirteen tracks of deep, beautifully worked instrumental music, based in hip hop but touching on techno, house, dubstep, latin, twostep, jazz, soul, funk and everything in between, "We Will Not Harm You" is a work of art from one of the pillars of the Black British music scene.
Created over the eighteen months, "We Will Not Harm You" sees Dobie develop the style pioneered on his two EPs for Big Dada and take it still further. In combining his love of classic breaks with the most contemporary music-making techniques, his feel for soul with the essential rawness of his hip hop education, Dobie makes something unique and timeless. So "Blip 124" runs bleep back through the bloco, "Stan Lee Is Hero Of Mine" pits funk drumming against a snaking, evil, electronic bassline, and first single "She Moans" is an exercise in the interaction between percussion and bottom end, a kind of deconstruction of dubstep back into its consitutuent parts. Tunes like "The Chant" and "Crunch Factor No.5" are an insturmental hip hop as hard, edgy and psychedelic as anything coming out of the LA Beat Scene, "Snap, Crackle & Pop" takes the spirit of breaking and spins it out into space, "Magenta" re-thinks the house grooove. "Then I Woke Up," meanwhile, is an exercise in psychotic mood music, "Somewhere Over There" is the kind of beautiful, soulful interlude you'd expect to find on an obscure soul-jazz B side, while "She Wiggles When She Walks" is a shimmering, transcendent conclusion to a great album.

We're happy to introduce to you a brand new project from two
exceptionally talented German producers going by the name of
Clavis. Manuel Tur, well known for his releases on Freerange, Mild Pitch and more recently Running Back has joined forces with Adrian aka Urban Absolutes of Paskal & Urban Absolutes fame and their debut release the Banza EP is the result of this fruitful
collaboration.
The title track brings some serious heat with both producers'
influences shining through and the end result being a dynamic and unique slice of percussion fueled, atmospheric deep, electronic house.
Mirzoza's Dream once again creates an expansive, widescreen mood with a simple piano riff providing the rhythmic drive punctuated by a cross-rhythmic bass note. Precision production and minimal approach to the arrangement will ensure this one sounds perfect on a big system.
Kuniyuki has been making amazing music for the last 15 years on
labels such as Mule and Sound Of Speed and we're happy to finally have him remix here on Freerange and with a seemingly perfect project for him to add his special touch. His remix of Mirzoza's Dream sees him stretch it out to an 8 minute 30 reconds of deep and twisted rolling analogue tricknology. Keeping the subtle mood of the piano riff in place, Kuniyuki expertly cranks up the energy by fattening the drums and building on the crazy synths, chartering his own course through a meteor shower on this intergalactic space journey!

2007 gegründet, ist Bones das erste Album, das Son Lux in der neuen Trio-Formation zeigt und die

Die 1981 in Göteborg gegründete Synthie-Pop-Band Twice a Man zählt in Schweden zu den Pionieren der
elektronischen Popmusik. Zu ihren festen Mitgliedern zählten von Anfang an Dan Söderqvist und Karl
Gasleben. 1984 veröffentlichte Twice a Man die LP "From A Northern Stone". Zu dieser Zeit traten sie noch
gemeinsam mit Jocke Söderqvist auf, doch 1986 geriet die Zusammenarbeit ins Stocken. Erst 2014,
anlässlich des 30-jährigen Veröffentlichungsjubiläums von "From A Northern Stone", standen sie wieder zu
dritt auf der Bühne. Sowohl für die Musiker als auch die Fans von Twice a Man waren die Konzerte ein
unvergessliches Erlebnis - die magische Verbundenheit vergangener Zeiten war wieder greifbar.
Zwangsläufig setzte man sich an einen Tisch, um neue Songs zu schreiben. So entstand "Presence". Das
Album enthält neun neue Stücke. Diese reflektieren die globalen Konflikte, welche die Welt aktuell umtreiben
und hinterfragt die Zukunftsfähigkeit der Menschheit. Es sind apokalyptische Zeiten, die dringlich und

Time to tone that bumbum 'cuz the next release on Soul Clap Records takes us all the way to Sao Paulo, Brazil. This is the exploding metropolis where we first met our dear friend and musical soul mate, Davis. We met on our first tour of Brazil, and ended up playing back to back for hours on an epic birthday boat party around Rio's harbor. A pillar in the Brazilian house and disco music scene, Davis is known for his marathon DJ sets, heavy vinyl/synth collection and of course his oversized golden retrievers Neve and Moog.

Davis tells us that for him, music production is all about telling stories and sharing emotion. It is written with two-fold intention, both an invitation to connect within and also an opportunity to escape.

"The 3 tracks bring pieces of emotions that are very present in my daily life. "Ethnic" with her african wild side is influenced by my childhood surrounded by black rhythms. I came from a very poor family, my grandfather was black and one of our great amusements was celebrating with the music full of black influences like samba, umbanda and the blues. "Juno Ballad" brings to me the image of driving the roads that connect São Paulo to Rio de Janeiro. This track reminds me of the soundtrack of a film where the character is frequent traveler, much like our lives as DJs. Finally, "This time with you" brings out my romantic side. My idea here is that love always brings comfort and moments of peace that erase any suffering."

Following hot on the heels of Paul Bennett's 'modthree', the next release on Modernista comes from Russian multi-instrumentalist and producer Yuri Shulgin.

After releases under his own name and as Mistanomista, alongside collaborations with Anton Zap, Yuri joins Modernista for a three-track 12" that effortlessly pieces together elements of acid, house, dub and jazz fusion into a very personal sound.

Recorded in Haiku-Pauwela, Maui between 21st January and 8th February 2015

Melting our minds for over two decades with his beat-based productions, this time renowned techno-producer Anthony Child aka Surgeon is putting the fundamental components of electronic sound production to the fore. Focussing on the development of timbre and texture, Child creates exquisite drones, that give an insight in his improvisatory sensibility and dig deep into the potentials of modular synthesis, As the title already indicates, it's a very special setting that he has chosen for this endeavour: The jungle of Maui seems to have acted as a stimulus for this exercise in concentration and trance. The intertwining of the electronic instrument that meets the sublime sounds of nature, opens up an intimate resonant chamber. Birds, insects and raindrops are allowed to break through, while you can sense the thick, humid air and deep colours of the surrounding resonating in the pastose synth lines. Some tracks offer beautifully built overtone-drones, others are structured by playful arpeggios that create a shining bright texture and seduce us into a state of disintegration. At the same time Child gives priority to the graininess of the instrument to emphasise the haptic quality and inner tension of the sounds themselves. In the end these minimalist procedures have been compiled to an unpretentious collection of sonic and atmospheric micro-jewels, inviting us to give ourselves over entirely and exclusively to listening.

Die Orakel presents two reinterpretations by Edward of Krautrock excursions - originally recorded by Harmonia and Brian Eno in 1973 and 1976. Harmonia is a Krautrock/Kosmische Musik group from Germany - formed as a collaboration of Michael Rother of Neu!, Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Dieter Möbius of Cluster 1973. In the same year, the song Sehr Kosmisch' was released on the band's debut album Musik von Harmonia". In September 1976 Brian Eno and Harmonia then collaborated and recorded Atmosphere' at the band's studio in Forst, Germany. However, the song was not released until 1997 as the tape was considered lost for almost twenty years. Who would be more suitable to remix original Krautrock material than Gilles Aiken, better known as Edward Considering his latest productions, Edward mostly works within house and techno templates while echoing Krautrock figures like Connie Plank. He is recognized for producing filigree club tracks that come with a spiritual edge. Over the years, this combination has made him a mainstay of Berlin's White label as well as Weimar's esteemed Giegling crew.
