“Terror Nocturno" is a four-track masterpiece that showcases Elias Sternin's mastery of sonic storytelling. Each track unfolds like a chapter, taking listeners on a mesmerizing journey through intricate melodies, pulsating beats, and tragic atmospheres. From the mind-bending rhythms of "Bajón Químico" to the ethereal vampirism of "Trueno," this EP is a testament to Sternin's ability to push the boundaries of electronic music.

Tarenah was one of only two singles pressed under the nom de plume of Psychedelic Research Lab - a collaboration between Scott Richmond and John Selway which began while the pair were attending music conservatory at SUNY Purchase College, in upstate New York. Scott produced the first version of the track for a modern dance performance in 1993. A mix of electronics and room full of live musicians, the session featured an afro-cuban percussionist, a Bangladeshi vocalist / tabla player, a classical flautist, and a reggae guitarist, with Scott on keys and engineering, and John on multiple TB-303s. The duo played the piece to a pal, who said, “Listening to your music is like being in a psychedelic research lab” and the moniker was born. DJ Jonathan Kadish, the chill out resident at pioneering NYC rave, NASA, championed the track and subsequently commissioned four remixes for his label, Gyroscopic Recordings.

The tune has been elevated to legendary status in certain circles - due to it being a firm favourite of “The Godfather Of Chill-out”, the late DJ Jose Padilla. Jose at this time had a penchant for “ambient breaks / breakbeats” - seminal stuff like the work of San Francisco's Hardkiss crew and other Bay Area artists. According to close friend Phil Mison, drawn to the Chill Mix, Jose Padilla played and played Tarenah at Ibiza`s Cafe del Mar. It was a daily constant in Jose`s sets for several seasons, and he eventually included the track on the second volume of his essential compilation series honouring said White Isle shrine - put together in the mid-90s for the label React. Sealing the tune`s fate and making Tarenah forever synonymous with Jose and the golden, halcyon, San Antonio, Cala Des Moro, sunsets he soundtracked.

The 3rd Floor Mix, named after the location of the SUNY Purchase studio, is tribally-tinged uplifting progressive house - taking its cues from the contemporary Dutch imprints, Fresh Fruit and Touche. John Selway’s Remix (titled “Spy’s Sub Mix” on the original pressing) strips the track back to a cool, more minimal, jack - heavily influenced by the “bleep” sound of Sheffield`s Warp Records. The Sleepwalker Mix is beatless. Tailored from twisting, intertwining, 303 drones.

Following Tarenah, Scott and John continued devoting their life to dance music. Scott went behind the scenes, founding - alongside Jonathan Kadish - the famous Satellite Records dance music record store chain. He also ran the house and trance labels, Central Park and Pitch Black. In recent years, Scott has worked in artist management, and within the global music festival scene, primarily with Vh1 Supersonic and Ticket Fairy India, which has taken him to Mumbai, Goa, and Pune. John has had an amazingly prolific electronic music career, building a vast, and varied catalogue of productions - both solo, and through collaboration. From Disintegrator and working on Deep Dish`s debut single, to Smith & Selway and The Rancho Relaxo Allstars. Along the way finding the time to run labels such as Serotonin and CSM. Currently John is teaching and mentoring the next generation of electronic music artists at 343 Labs music school, while still producing forward-thinking techno and electro.

This is the first time Tarenah has been reissued in full on vinyl, and Midnight Drive are very proud to present this sublime underground classic once more. Reissued in full conjunction with John Selway and Scott Richmond, remastered by Curvepusher, London and distributed worldwide by Above Board distribution 2022.

4 hypnotic club tracks for the late hours of the night.

The Lagaffe boys have a special one for you. Lagaffe 10 marks the 10th EP in our vinyl series and serves as a perfect way to end our 10th year in existence. To mark this occasion we are releasing a 4 tracker with our founders and label regulars.

The EP opens up with Cohen Social Club by Flexi Leifs aka Felix Leifur. Our man Felix lost his drum machines last spring but luckily he found a guitar and some drums. The track starts off with suspicious sounding guitar notes that somehow end up as pure beauty, giving hope in the darkest of places. Frodo with the ring stuff, if you know what I mean. Playful reverbs and echos give the tune the classic Felix Leifur feel to it!

Moff & Tarkin has the next track "Pure Fury", some breakbeats and cheesy disco vocals, why change a winning recipe?

Next up is "We are not alone " by label boss Jonbjörn. I think this is what Elton John meant when he said "thank god for those electro bangers!" With "Að handan" Viktor Birgiss comes back to the label in style. Our mastering engineer described it as having the loudest kick drum in history, imagine that! Lo fi dub sounding drums interlaced with atmospheric chords, made for those late night intimate moments on the dancefloor, again Frodo with the ring stuff, if you know what I mean.

Late Night Superglue present the third edition of their Biscuit series with a collection of hard-hitting, transcontinental jams from the minds of Buraye, Yard Customer, Tonnovelle, JJ Fortune and Louis Frederic.

The EP brings together artists from across the globe - Colombia, Ireland, Tehran and London - connected by a taste for a particular haunting sound. A long time in the making, the label has been working to gather music from this group of artists for a number of years, a journey which for some included time on the front line together at dancefloors in Barcelona and London along the way. The A-side kicks off with Buraye’s ‘Wireless Dialogue’. A brooding piece of techno from Colombia, characterised by its punchy kicks, haunting synths and subtle acid twists, which perfectly set the tone for the rest of the EP. The A2, ‘Contraflow’, is brought to you by Yard Customer. Hip-hop samples and shuffling drums lead a track which has an overarching air of menace - big tip!

Tonnovelle’s ‘Bliss’ opens the flip with a bang. A rip-roaring affair utilising vintage percussion juxtaposed with futuristic stabs to continue Biscuit Three’s muscular motif. ‘Fern’ by JJ Fortune & Louis Frederic wraps up the 4-tracker with more peak

R&C Records boys are back with a new sampler of their "feels-good" sound, digging deeper into the 80's Italo Disco scene.
The logo side captures a Gaznevada inspired re-imagination, magically moved into a newElectro-SpaceDisco dream with a Balearic flavour; on the flip side a Firefly's classic disco anthem re-grooved to an Electro-Boogie 'desire', laid on spacey synths and balearic keys.

Midland returns after 4 years with his first solo record “Drift Into The Algorithm” taken from his forthcoming EP “You Never Take Me Dancing.” Following on from 2019’s “Alchemy of Circumstance” the EP consists of four tracks that represent the next chapter in his studio process.

L-A based producer Ole Mic Odd delivers 6 tracks designed for the dancefloor on Spanish label Another Perspective. Raw acid & electro sounds with a lot of strength and elegance.

Russian producer Rambal Cochet aka Volta Cab, an artist very much influenced by Goa Trance brings three new tracks with a sound that captivates us to that time, adding New Beat and EBM waves close to ‘Valencia Sound’ and its legendary ‘Ruta Destroy’. The record includes an absolute banger: a Kris Baha remix to burn the dancefloor, as usual.

There are still some pearls of dance music from the late 80's to early 90's that have remained in obscurity and have gone unnoticed or at least there has been no special attention, so Jose Manuel has dug deep as he already did in the first chapter of the compilation " Milagros del Ritmo ".

Among the annals of releases between '89 and '93 Jose has found pearls that he wanted to encapsulate in the second chapter of " Milagros Del Ritmo II ".

Nine tracks among which we find : Come To Me (Ven Aqui) by La Luna produced by Erik Kupper, where percussion and Latin influences dominate over a house beat, then there is Teknology by Dj Raffa, a well known Brazilian Dj, followed by Lorena with Tu Eres Igual Que Los Demás (De Luxe Dub), where the beat vaguely recalls Los Niños Del Parque by Liaisons Dangereuses.
This second volume of "Milagros Del Rirmo II " cannot be missed by DJs who love and play the retro sound.

Auke Riemersma (aka Aux Tha Masterfader). Erio Simonini and Gilberto Caleffi (aka Disco Doubles). Together this partnership from The Netherlands and Italy form Light Cycles, a trio raised on sci-fi sound tracks and smouldering synth anthems. These influences are omnipresent in the group's debut 12': Flowing.
