Despite being only 2 releases in Planetary Notions has been supported by Resident Advisor, I.D & Mixmag and this September they give debuts two hotly-tipped producers: Stellar Wind and DSC.
* The first two EPs from label head Joe Rolét were quickly picked up on by the likes of Delano Smith, Craig Richards, Brawther, Mathias Kaden, FUSE residents Enzo Siragusa & Rossko.
* Whilst little is known about the label's latest additions, both tracks perfectly encapsulate what Planetary Notions is all about - piloting expertly constructed, bass-driven tech designed to move a dancefloor. This EP is a deep atmospheric jouirney with a tip of the cap to their love of dub and soundsystem culture.
* 'Search In The Skies' by Stellar Wind. The track is characterised by swirling atmospheres and distorted bird calls which are deftly layered over an off-kilter groove and deep bass. It's a wonderfully trippy journey which is rough around the edges in just the right way.

* On the flip side is the debut effort from DSC. Moving away from the irregular rhythms of the A-side, the track is built around a wonderfully punchy bass line and sharp hi-hats with a delicate vocal echocing throughout - this one posses true potential to be a firm favorite with some of the genres finest selectors worldwide.

Foremost minimal techno producer Barem is next to serve up a compelling three track EP for the ever more essential Rhythm Cult label and comes hot on the heels of EPs from Deadbeat and Greenville Massive amongst others.
As well as being a key artist on the Minus label, Barem has appeared on Leftroom, Mindshare and Moon Harbour, and is a revered live performer who has headlined everywhere from DEMF to Mutek.
Of course, he is a stylistically diverse producer who shows us his well-honed
production chops here once again.

First track 'Vanda' is awash with beautiful melodies as synthetic, intricate drums form a liquid groove down below.
Both minimal but colourful, groovy but organic, it's a charming track with plenty of summery warmth imbued within.
Next up, 'Phaius' is slightly darker and more late night, with its nagging sine waves, skittish percussion and flappy drums.

Alien sound effects scurry across the face and wooden hi hats add another micro-groove with which dancers will easily relate.
Finally, 'Lycaste' gets all shimmery and shuffling with a soft edge cloud of hi hats, rolling drum fills and snares all coming over in jazzy fashion.

Off time hits, synth blurts and Villalobos style details all characterise this cerebral track, and a killer, classic house bass line and wandering piano line both tie the whole thing together in style.

This is an EP of superb techno that is stuffed with charm, emotion and organic textures that really makes you feel something whilst drawing you to the dance floor.

Not letting the needs of the dance floor corrupt his production, this E.P. follows Detroit techno's fundamental trajectory of forward thinking, technologically advanced sound palate with emotive yet stark arrangements.

'All Abandon All' is a fierce emotional affair, that straddles both techno and IDM - it's Rutter doing what he does best, a distinctly utopian retro-future.

Electro-Soma & Time Tourist L.P's on Warp have enjoyed legendary status since their release and cemented B12 into the techno hall of fame.

Tracks by B12 were included on Warp's first Artificial Intelligence compilation and thus part of IDM's day zero.

Death in Vegas returns with Transmission, the sixth release from the project begun by Richard Fearless nearly two decades ago. This album forges new miles on the path Fearless carved with Satan's Circus and Trans-Love Energies, and is born of his desire for an ever more raw, refined sound.
United over a love of Throbbing Gristle and Chris and Cosey, Fearless partners with artist and writer Sasha Grey, whose lyrics resonate across the soundscape of visceral techno and unsettling, discordant drones, weaving into a state of dreamlike euphoria. Field recordings of the constant drone of air traffic and incessant noise from the steel factory opposite Fearless' Metal Box studio, as well as the Ballardian landscape in which it's set, all exert their pull on the record, searching for light in the dark.

Next up on Constant Sound is Berlin based Diego Krause. This time there are no remixes, just 3 solid club tracks from a producer who is really on form.

Moon Harbour is delighted to announce the Autumn 2016 release of Momentum, the second full length album from label boss Matthias Tanzmann. Arriving eight years after his debut LP Restless, the outstanding follow-up impressively demonstrates that his artistic restlessness has not been decreasing over the last couple of years. On the contrary, Momentum undoubtedly proves once more that Matthias' impact on the scene is still steadily growing with an end not in sight and that his efforts to advance are ever moving forward.


Recent times have found Matthias having huge success via fruitful collaborations with the likes of Martin Buttrich, Davide Squillace and Daniel Stefanik, amongst others, but now back on his own and more energetic than ever, he is firing on all cylinders as a solo artist. Loosely rooted in a variety of house styles, Momentum shows a subtle return to some of Tanzmann's earliest musical roots. Just as Matthias declares himself, 'It is stuff to listen to at home, stuff I like to listen to away from the club', before adding that, 'of course, it also contains tracks that are 100% what I love playing in my DJ sets.'


The ten track release is an impulsive and emotionally moving affair that offers a fantastic snapshot into the current musical mind of the artist. With a process initially starting during his times abroad in Thailand and South America, this most coherent and complete album has been slowly coming together over the last five years. In customary manner, the album is quite different to a normal EP from the German producer, given that it features plenty of deeper and more cerebral moments than most of his past works.


With a perfect mixture between listening pleasure and pure dancefloor material, Momentum contains tracks ranging from deep and broody house style with warm pads streaming over infectious drums to serene and atmospheric jams with real funk in their bones. Next to more downtempo sultry house vibes, the harder, more freaky tunes will get floors bumping with their punchy drums, wiggling synths, drilling bass and loopy vocal sounds. With more soul infused party grooves rounding up the experience, the release truly brings along the whole range of carefully plotted ups and downs necessary for casting the listener under a hypnotic and heartfelt spell of house music.


The album will be celebrated with a worldwide release tour from October to December 2016, highlighting once more that only a few have the exact same sense of electronic music artistry as this man does.

Every great weekend in the party capital of Berlin usually involves a Big Fat Breakfast. This time, our favourite Pfand duo, Hali + Yapacc release their sophomore Pfand release entited the Breakfast EP under the moniker The Cabin. Andreas Gehm is known for his fierce, unapologetic acid style. But the Cologne man does have a more mellow side, a smoother side, and that's what this three tracker is. Of course, smooth Gehm still has some rough edges. 'Yellow Flowers' combines thick pads, skittering beats, warming samples and frigid bars in an intoxicating brew. Malice and menace rear their ashen faces for the evil machinations of 'Late At Night', muffled vocals and sharpened snares glinting in the streetlights. Safety arrives in the form of the aptly titled 'Less Violence'. Rhythms are still rough edged, melodies still have an underhanded element. Yet there is a subdued humanity in the sweetened strings, emotion coming to a head as the needle runs out

The Eleven is - numerologically speaking- definitely not a lucky number in the Western culture. It exceeds perfection just by one and thus represents the number of excess and sin in Christian mythology, that's why apocalyptic events always start in the eleventh hour.

Pinkman cast their net eastwards. The latest finding, Hungary's Norwell, offers up four genre splicing cuts. Rhythms are from the golden age of electro, cold and prototypical. Around these sharp percussion patterns swirl a wealth of melting synthlines. Pads, deep basslines and a ghosting presence characterise the title track, that same spectral mood weaves its way through the sweetened strings and distorted judders of 'Dissonant Division.' The frigid bars of 'Nordic Nights' introduces the flip, arctic winds pierced by snapping snares. Emotional depth ebbs and flows as the rich and textured 'Wasted Echoes' brings down the curtain on Norwell's Pinkman debut

OdD returns with the follow up to the highly successful Tapes of Old series. The boys have dug deep into the archives to bring you three hidden treasures that finally are making their way to wax. So sit tight and prepare to blast off into the intergalactic word of OdD with Tapes of Old 02.

Getting things going with Phono Parrot, a modern interpretation of the 1994 Classic Emprisoning Sounds On A Piece Of Wax by SQVID. The boys jump right into the action with shamanic grooves that move us through our temple of OdD with whip like snares that crash giving the movement of our journey an extra boost. Then dubby synths take us further into their world until the vox kicks in speaking the gospel of OdD.

This leads us to the next point with Original Sqiggle. This track was the original template to the dance floor smash on OdD 005. Taking us even deeper into this diverse world, we glide through the air on floating pads until complex percussion patterns move us further through this strange new enjoyable world.

Ready for our next exploration of sound we jump into our space ship ready to explore the realms of Spud Bm 7: B5. A track dedicated to Spud Huddson an insane genius that in his own right was the father figure and inspiration for OdD. Once we land we find our self in a beautiful and enchanting land with classic pads that remind us how sacred the new place we have entered is. Followed by otherworldly percussion and a solid groove that speaks to our explorers in a foreign language that is not confusing but blissful.

All together in a tightly woven package this release is one for the dance floor and those listening at home. Limited to only 500 copies, this is one record you won't want to miss, so fasten your seatbelts and prepare for the next journey into the world of OdD.

Shir Khan's Exploited Recordings has always stood out as a label with serious ambitions. Half Baked Records is back with his fifth offering, presenting the solo Ep of French dj & producer Robin Ordell. On top of having released on Eklo, Robin is one of the historical residents of Half Baked, an artist present in the family from day one, growing together with the project while bringing his own touch to it, a delicate balance between light and darkness, drive and delicateness. Robin infuses power to his tracks via a no compromise formula on drums; tight old school rhythms that are then cleverly fused with expert sound design and minimalist aesthetic, showing a lot of maturity in his productions skills. The A1, Five Majors, is a perfect example of this balance, a dramatic club twister that has all the ingredients to rock a dancefloor, while preserving a touch of elegance. The A2, Nobody Loves Bishopgate, has a an eerie underwater feeling, slowly numbing you with his bubbly bass and filtered melodies, but still keeping you afloat with his funky swing. On the flipside we find the remix of Vera, a 'djs' dj' and renowned producer for her releases on Perlon and Oslo to name a few. Vera strips it down, emphasizing the drugged out atmospheres and delivering an hypnotic laidback re-interpretation that will no doubt be the highlight of many morning sets this summer. The B2, Kosma, is the 'brightest' cut of the record where jazzy chords alternate with playful stabs, teasing you throughout the whole the track.

Benjamin Brunn's follow up to his highly regarded A Sun Life album on Third Ear. The Plastic Album is, like it's predecessor once again bursting with fat, glistening, gorgeous sounds. Brunn's sound is instantly recognizable; the Nord Modular synth and Roland 808 which feature on all his performances. Yet, he's sounding as fresh, as enigmatic and as soulful as ever.
