The Untold Stories: Protagonist Series. Records dedicated to the stories of some venerable but unsung historical figures. The first of the Protagonist Series was created by Sil, and gives a glimpse into the spirit of the first such figure: Tadeush Konrad. Sil, the pseudonym of Kirill Sylantev, who is more widely known for his work in the duo Easy Changes, now begins solo productions. For the UNTLDPRO series his work dedicated to Tadeush Konrad is of confident vibe, with much swing and rich with soulful flashes from times past. This work is then remixed by Ztrl and Hubble. First comes the Ztrl remix, with energetic bass and a wealth of tones interrelating to great hypnotic effect. Then on the B-side Hubble's remix, an extended work, a floating journey of warm organic sounds, concludes the story and the spirit of Tadeush Konrad.

Billy Meier, the third record in The Untold Stories Protagonist EP Series, is by Suokas, and includes a remix by Alka Rex. The works stem from the remote town of Petrozavodsk in Russia, where the artist Suokas lives a life of diligent focus. The album is dedicated to Billy Meier whose extensive writings and transcriptions document his contact with extraterrestrial beings, largely from a civilisation called Plejaren located a fraction of a second shifted from our own dimension. His works are devoted to widening consciousness and challenge what we conventionally accept as true. Similarly inspired, Suokas says my music is about things that cannot be proven by conventional methods.

Thomas Lizzara´s debut album, dopamin puzzle, early supported and played by Alle Farben, Arts & Leni, Drauf & Dran, Niko Pusch and many more.
After many releases and remixes, Thomas Lizzara the Berlin based club phenomenon, launches his long-awaited debut album Dopamin Puzzle on Ostfunk Records. By gathering club tunes and emotional tracks, that were made together with the singer Steven Coulter, he created an acoustic mapping of nightlife joy. Thomas Lizzara delivers happiness to the people.

Aiming to go somewhat deeper and darker than his debut album, on 'Some Kind Of Sign' Ernesto endevours to go beyond the obvious and easily cliched elements of an electronic LP, capturing the world within the spaces, using otherworldly modulars and field recordings to take the listener to the outer reaches of the album's very heart and soul. 'Some Kind Of Sign' is an album full of elasticated beats and liquid electronics, every track built around highly inventive drum programming and micro-samples. Album opener, 'Still Waiting", sets the tone with bustling, yet understated, percussion, the soaring strings unfurling at the end of each phrase. It's a long player filled with colour; 'Cristal Clear' feels like a Middle Eastern travelogue, the track awash with an almost street scene like ambience, the purposeful percussion really transporting the listener to another space & time. 'Astral' chugs along at almost a skanking pace, the shakers and drum fills keeping it a dancefloor piece whilst the modular synths bend and worm around the kicks. On tracks like 'Underwater Lies' the synths rain down onto a dubbed out & sultry female vocal, whilst the propelling electro beat and huge sub-bass carve out a most enjoyable aural (subaquatic) ride. Ferreyra really shows what he is capable of in the deep melancholy of 'The Friend I've Lost", the saddest of pianos riffs grips your heart and gives it a good tight crush, douses you in reverb and pins you up against epic, taut strings...releasing you after its two short minutes to get back to the dance on 'Hide No More".

Golden Parachutes is a unique, collaborative musical effort comprised of Stewart Walker (US/Berlin) and Touane (Italy/Berlin).
Following five years of collaborative live-performances and techno releases through Stewart's Persona Records imprint, here the duo has decided to co-mingle their influences from Afrobeat and Progressive Jazz into a boundary-free exploration. Liberated from the constraints of repetitive, pounding kick drums, they unveil a new sound of timbral fluidity built-up from live and sequenced instruments.
More than just music, their innovative approach delivers 43 minutes of consummate aural landscapes that pull the listener in head first. As the title 'Into The Dark Grey Morning' suggests the album takes you on a sweet atmospheric journey where melodic washes of colour and light flicker illumination into the dark clouds of monochromatic noise and reverb compositions, evoking fresh beginnings in electronic music... like a light at the end of the tunnel.
As Level Records third long-play release, 'Into The Dark Grey Morning' is an unexpected turn away from the labels normal tendencies. With it's live-instrumental melodies layered over sweeping electronic backdrops the album dips deeply into progressive rock waters and surfaces with a contemporary Krautrock sound, logically delivered by a label from Düsseldorf, the birthplace of Krautrock music.

The 'C-Scape' EP from Chromengel is the latest release on the Magic Waves label and features four tracks fit to set your turntables on fire once again! Chromengel is a secret production alias of an original 1970s kosmische and synth-wave veteran producer, and while the tracks all sound sonically fresher-than-fresh the musical experience shines through in equal measure. Opening the record is the title track, 'C-Scape', a melancholic leftfield electro builder that has 'instant classic' stamped all over it, and is followed up by the dark and deep dubbed-out electronic space sounds of 'Khamsin', a modern-day masterpiece evoking memories of Basic Channel, Aural Float and Air Liquide amongst others. Side B kicks off with 'Wes Too', a progressive piece of contemporary kosmische action that takes the energy levels to a climax before we finally crash down to Earth again with a bump for 'Photosynthetik', an electro beast that's as mean as it is futuristic and as tough as it is slick. As usual the pressing is limited so grab this while stocks last!

With the release of their last album Smoke' (2013) Dapayk & Padberg moved to a listening oriented direction, that also works perfectly off the dance floor. The new single Sink This Ship' underlines their decision to follow this path in the future ... maybe even with their upcoming album Harbour' later this year. On Sink This Ship' Eva Padberg unfolds her matured voice, which shows more confidence than on previous records. Dapayk skillfully puts her voice in a common scenery, where the straight beats are long over and where is space for extravagances and inventiveness. However, this is not a radical change turning away from the club sound. Two of the most sought-after remixer artists at the moment, Robot Koch and Bebetta, ensure the suitability for the dance floor. Robot Koch skillfully disassembles (for which he is known) the original. Primarily he builds his version on the emotional base of Eva's vocal part and Dapayk's warm bass line. However, on the flip side, there is almost a contrasting change. The slight melancholy of the original track gives way for a typical Bebetta Techhouse Beat, that flows through the club in a dreamy, yet simply irresistible manner.

Duijn & Douglas - Das die Ene: This very warm, deep track takes you on a journey of hypnotic textures and revolving bass lines. It feels like you have fallen into a slow motion tumble dryer, which relentlessly tosses you around in a warm air with a pleasant dizzying effect. It has subtle funky undertones which more than enhances the moving effect already present in this groovy number. Duijn & Douglas - Something Sexy: Slow, funky track 'Something Sexy' from Duijn & Douglas, revolves around groovy bass and piano. You cannot help but to move your body to it. Its masterful progression with the addition
of the filtered guitar sounds only accentuates already created funky feel and makes you want to seduce someone or something. Sexy feel is definitely captured in the harmonies and format of this track. Cool stuff! The creamy mouthfeel is laced with intense black peppers but then mellows out to give you honey, lemon and chocolate with a dash of tobacco. The long peppery finish is fruity with a hint of limestone.

Melodic house pioneer and Diynamic figurehead Solomun is back with his latest release, a compilation of some of his best-loved remixes from over the past 7 years. Comprised of 24 tracks spread across two CDs, the collection is due for release in June this year, and is split into a vocal and non-vocal disc. Both the CD and vinyl versions come with customisable cover artwork and a pack of crayons, reflecting the "remix" concept.

The first disc displays Solomun's skill for crafting intelligent yet crossover-ready reworks of both well-known and underground songs. Amongst these are some of the producer's most iconic tracks to date; the Solomun Vox Mix of Noir & Haze's 'Around' - Resident Advisor's no1 remix and Groove Magazine's no2 remix of 2011 - as well as his remix of 'Let's Go Back' by Kraak & Smaak, which was also Groove Magazine's no3 remix of the same year. His remix of Foals - 'Late Night' from 2013 also features, which, alongside 'Around', has racked up over 30 million views on Youtube to date. Other offerings range from atmospheric takes on the likes of Lana Del Rey and Roisin Murphy, to the more recent, deep and downbeat remix of Whilk & Misky's 'Clap Your Hands'.

The largely vocal-less remixes on CD2 allow Solomun's unique production style to shine through. The dark beats of his remix of Stimming's 'Una Pena' feat. Paulo Olarte makes for an attention-grabbing start to the disc, whereas his dub mix of 'A Love Bizarre' by So Phat! and Claude VonStroke's 'The Clapping Track' shows his funkier side. Older remixes like that of 'Magnetic North' by Palm Skin Productions and Marbert Rocel's 'Cornflake Boy' prove Solomun's credentials with a traditional jacking house groove, underlined by those same distinctive lush basslines and melodic elements. Tiga & Audion's famous 'Let's Go Dancing' draws the compilation to a close, demonstrating Solomun's skill for bringing an entirely new dimension to an already very well-known track.

Matteo Pepe, Uabos, returns to Bitter Moon. Building on his first outing, A Point of View opens with the warming 303 grooves of 'A Point of View.' Clean beats and lush notes weave in this playful house encounter. Those same crisp rhythms are present in the funk filled 'Groove Is A Mystery' before slow burning beauty of 'Piano Fights', a track that will simply ignite anything it comes in contact with. Bright and energetic, 'Semen Without Touch' ends the EP, shimmering bars and playful twists wind together for a colourful close.

The Moritz Von Oswald Trio opens a new chapter. There's a new configuration to the project, with Tony Allen joining original members Moritz von Oswald and Max Loderbauer. Allen, the legendary drummer who's amassed a formidable catalogue both as a solo artist and as part of Fela Kuti's band, has taken over percussion duties from Vladislav Delay.
Together, von Oswald, Loderbauer and Allen form something close to a dream team, two masters of the electronic sphere meeting an afrobeat pioneer. Allen had already established a rapport with the group before they entered the studio to record Sounding Lines—he's been touring with von Oswald and Loderbauer for more than a year, playing live shows around the world.
There has been an evolution on each new Moritz Von Oswald Trio record, and Sounding Lines is no different. The album, which was mixed by Ricardo Villalobos, maintains the project's trajectory—a fearless exploration of dub techno, classical music and jazz—but the prevailing mood feels looser and more organic than ever before. Allen's imperious percussive work sits tantalisingly in the mix. His drums meet the electronics of von Oswald and Loderbauer in a way that renders the project in new, vivid colours.
There are 4/4 tracks, beatless interludes and complex jazz structures, with propulsive recordings ("3") coexisting alongside more languid moments ("1"). Sometimes Allen provides flourishes of drums (notably on "4") while at other times spectral synths come to the fore (as on "5"). Von Oswald, a masterful composer and arranger with a deep understanding of space, paints the crevices of each composition on Sounding Lines with rich detail. Individually, von Oswald, Loderbauer and Allen are formidable and hugely influential musicians.
As a trio, they've conjured something remarkable.

Amphia celebrates its 10th release with a two-tracker EP from Cezar Lazar.

Both tracks reflect his signature sound, taking time to evolve into soundscapes that expand outside the familiar borders. The latin american influences embedded in "Choice Of Ancillaries" leave us hints of its vivid melody surfacing beneath its tight percussions. On the B side we find its darker counterpart, "Grounds And Shields", treating us with a more acoustic flow, sewn graciously around the incisive bassline.

New Kanada presents a collection of superbly deep and tight emo house tracks by Seuil.
All three cuts here are made for the long mix; blending elements of classic house, deep techno and random dopeness into a very modern whole.

React' is Split Secs' first record of 2015 and the year's first release from the LA duo's Machine Limited imprint.
Composed of Alexandre Mouracade a.k.a SONNS and Travis Kirschbaum (TK DISKO), Split Secs has put out
material on labels such as Throne Of Blood, Kompakt, and Jolly Jams. They've also crafted remixes for Mark E's
Merc label, BPitch Control, Remain, Waze & Odyssey, Future Classic, Pacific Horizons, Clouded Vision, On The
Prowl.. etc.
React' further confirms Split Secs' capabilities in creating all things tough & funky. As usual, Alex and Travis walk
a fine line towards the light, but veer dangerously and deliciously into thee dark. The original mix of React' is
deep house in the classic sense of the genre, a pulsing bassline, which Marshall Jefferson would be proud of,
conspires with rolling drums, drifting atmospherics, a chant repeatedly intoning react' and an ominous, but
extremely sexy, spoken, Italian vocal courtesy of Alona — the sometime chanteuse for 40 Thieves, who carried
out vocal duties on Machine Limited's first release, Slave,' also by Split Secs.
The package comes with three remixes, two by Indonesian producer Jonathan Kusuma, whose Gong 3000' EP
appeared on Cosmo Vitelli's I'm A Cliché label in 2014, and the other by Hardway Bros, aka Sean Johnston,
Weatherall's co-pilot in A Love From Outer Space. Kusuma's first mix is a driving house track with a definite late
'80s warehouse feel that brings early Tommy Musto to mind. The bassline is chunky and surrounded by intricate
and highly danceable drum patterns that wheel and swerve under the vocals. The track builds aggressively with
haunting strings and syndrum hits. It's perfect for peak time play. His second offering is a looser, deeper and
more narcotic effort. It's no less driving than his first mix, but strays into darker territory with an acid-tinged
bassline, rolling toms, plenty of delay on the chant, stabs of electric keys and fantastic drum programming.
The Hardway Bros' mix rounds out this release perfectly by toughening the original bass line even further, making
the beat stomp hard and then throwing in some acid to create a swirling cauldron of phantasmagorical, phuturisic,
phunk phantasticness. You've been given phair warning my phriends, React' will garner what it asks for, a
rousing reaction on the dance floors to which it is applied.

Just ahead of all the exciting 15 Years of Moon Harbour celebrations planned for later in the
year, Matthias Tanzmann's label continues to evolve with its next great EP. The man behind it is
none other than influential German DJ, writer, producer, label boss and record collector, DJ T.
The two excellent tracks he serves up mark his notable debut on this label, and the package is
completed with a great remix from Emanuel Satie.

DJ T., born Thomas Koch, has been active on the scene for twenty five years now. The German
started out in the mid '80s, and since then has held down various DJ residencies at clubs like
the now legendary Dorian Gray, founded the influential Groove Mag and Get Physical label and
is generally a rightfully respected pillar of the contemporary scene, and it's all thanks to his well
informed DJ sets, full lengths and hot 12's.

His excellent opener here, 'The Growing,' is an arresting bit of tech house with rattling
percussive patterns, a freeform bassline and spoken word vocal snippets that add some late
night mystery. It's robust and fulsome, and is sure to have dance floors locked in as one as
soon as it is dropped. On the flip, T. serves up 'Times We Had'. Another no nonsense and
rugged track, this one has a more nimble bassline that rides up and down next to cute synth
stabs. Overall the vibe is deep and groovy, the track is perfectly propelled by slick kick drums
and the production, along with more carefully treated vocals, really jumps out of the speakers.

Remixing this one is Get Physical live act and DJ Emanuel Satie, who's trips it back to a
spangled bassline, jittery vocal and jostling drum beat that really gets under your skin and
makes you want to move.

This is another landmark EP for both DJ T. and Moon Harbour, and one that couldn't have come
at a better time as Moon Harbour celebrates 15 years at the top of its game.

London based punk duo Black Volume are not easy to classify.
Their delirious industrial post punk sounds at times like proto house and at times becomes some sort of mutant electro. Their B Series sound is made of a conglomerate of filthy percussions, unexpected samples and something with the appearance of melody, with a weirdly addictive result.
Black Rubber is James Brown wearing black leather at 40ºC (in the shade) while suffering a mental breakdown. Excentric melodies sliding down rhythmic dislexia. Negative Return blooms from an improvised beat with no traceable sequence, on top of which we find rubbery synth lines, creamy interferences and mysterious sampling, everything sounds like melting from old vhs footage
With The Future we enter a romantic dystopia. Sensual and passionate but equally crunchy, it rises up through cheap calculator arpeggios, pitched vocals and obsessive bass lines.
Streetfight evoques a desolate landscape, devastated and radioactive. Distant echoes from an extinguished human race that left behind only majestic rusty ruins.

Mirko Loko's recent Comet Plan LP on Cadenza was another cornerstone release for the former Lazy Fat People Swiss maestro: a collection of eclectic tunes and collaborations with piano virtuoso Francesco Tristano and dOP's vocalist JAW, the album established him once again as a true experimental studio wizard, going against current trends and doing his thing.
Techno legend Carl Craig also remixed the leading single Kolor taken from the record, breaking into Beatport's Top 10.
After spending the summer as one of the main players on the Vagabundos' Ibiza circus, on this release for Memento, Mirko takes his vision to the next level, producing two tracks that defy any convention in today's often monotonous and stagnating music market: Undo''s minimalistic intro leads on to a bunch of spooky vocals looped throughout the whole piece, squelchy synth melodies and percussive stabs all around, while Solaris'' atmospheric, bright and ethereal pads make for a more than 12 minutes long trip of blissed out magic.

Stereofysh's simmering spoken-word production 'There Yet' is transformed into a classic Robag Wruhme delicacy. It starts sweetly with DIY percussive elements and a moving violin phrase, but make no mistake: this one is perfect for the dancefloor. Minimalist sound design and a heavy kick drum establish that fact, forming the foundation as the remix evolves from tracky and angular to warm and deep. It is yet another Robag masterpiece of fragility and functionality. Perennial indie rock favourites Tocotronic's masterful dream-pop number 'Warte Auf Mich Auf Dem Grund Des Swimmingpools' takes flight and soars via Die Vögel's reinterpretation. It is thick with atmosphere and drama from start to finish, as Rick McPhail's vocal's oppose the Hamburg duo's glitchy sonics and sleek production style. This is sophisticated slow burn deep tech-house, designed for dark and smoky late-night moments.

Following EPs for Creme Organization and W.T. Records, Art Crime delivers a four tracker of meltingly good music on Pinkman Records. Chords cascade, blending and reforming, in the warming wonder of 'Still Life', 'Dead Carnation' is from a similar place. Keys skipping down scales, dancing down them as percussion lends a touch of weight.'Distant' is the mood changer. Rain falls, smoke whirls and the night descends in this dark and intoxicating encounter. But those clouds part for the close. The fifth release on Concealed Sounds is delivered by a very talented artist known as, Lowris. He is a resident DJ at the leading and much respected French underground party called Concrete in Paris as well as releasing critically acclaimed released on his Aeternum label. For Concealed he offers two original tracks, starting off with 'AAA' which is a long stripped down hyptonic journey thru sound and rhythm. The second track being, 'Btass', which is a more minimalistic house groover. As a treat we invited no other then our favourite Danish producer S.A.M. to rework the title track. S.A.M. goes very deep on this one and transforms 'AAA' into a moody house affair that will suit the after hour very well.

Der kalifornische Produzent, Musiker und Sänger Seven Davis Jr. stammt aus San Francisco. Dort
absolvierte er eine amtliche Drogenkarriere, spielte Klavier in Blues-Clubs und versuchte sich als Ghostwriter
für Rapper. Als House-Produzent machte er erstmals 2013 mit der freigeistigen, an Theo Parrish und
Moodymann erinnernden Debüt-EP "One" auf sich aufmerksam. Der folgte 2015 der freakige, gängige HouseKonventionen kreativ in den Wind schlagende Langspieler "Universes" beim Label Ninja Tune. "Future
Society" versammelt nun jedoch kein weiteres eigenes Material. Es handelt sich vielmehr um eine
Kompilation mit Newcomern, die Seven Davis Jr. zuletzt in den USA, Neuseeland, Großbritannien und der
Schweiz über den Weg liefen und so bleibenden Eindruck hinterlassen haben, dass ihnen der Kalifornier eine
große Zukunft voraussagt. Daher auch der Titel "Future Society". Insofern besteht keine hörbare musikalische
Klammer, die dargebotenen Genres reichen von Soul über House bis zu Electro.

Als die erste Sunshine Live-Compilation im November 2001 in die Läden kam, wagte niemand von einer solchen Erfolgsgeschichte zu träumen. Fast 15 Jahre und 57 Compilations sowie unzählige Top-TenChartplatzierungen später hat sich die Sunshine Live-Compilation mit Hilfe der Fans zur erfolgreichsten CDReihe in der deutschen Radiolandschaft entwickelt. Cheerful Gait To The Wicked Witch is an immersive 14+ minute journey into his scientist-like mind, bubbling away unhurriedly like a slow-cooking lab experiment. From the metallic sounds of the intro, we build through wooden snares and mystifying bass tones, the percussive energy building gradually in layers. Abstract sounds fly in and out of the mix at will, the patient listener rewarded as the track unfolds and plunges in different directions.

Greece's Kreon provides a throbbing, bouncing remix, with subby thumps and muted tinges of haunting piano working at opposite ends of the scale. Snappy percussion licks away at this undulating, murky rhythm, and the overall effect is like tech house stripped down to its very barest bones.

While some tales startwith once upon a time , this one begins with the candid rhythms and guileless synergy of German duo Metaboman and Large M's Taverne Master'. Canadian minimal masterminds Akufen and Pheek each provide their own input: the former's weaving synth-driven jazzy storylines, the latter's a trip through fragmented instrumentals and a min-tech narrative. Klangscheiben label boss Demas shows his fangs with a brooding slow burner permeated by skin-crawling microsounds, a flow picked up by Montreal producerMagnanime's Psychomagic Master'. Ark's parable is awash with echoing vocal snippets and an addictive piano riff, melting into the strange sound of Tom Ellis, whose Shotgun' is at once stripped back and full of life.
