‘Débuts’ is France-via-Brussels duo, Nikitch & Kuna Maze’s aka Nicolas Morant & Edouard Gilbert first full length album. Building on their collaborative EP “Mush”, ‘Débuts’ continues to explore the melting point between jazz and club culture, interspersed with the signature sounds of broken beat, Chicago footwork, UK garage, Detroit house, and underpinned by their road-tested new live format.

‘Débuts’ see’s the band push their musical and creative development even further, a result of touring extensively around Europe with a live drummer, from high-brow jazz festivals to sweaty basement clubs. “We would be lying if we said our gig experience didn’t influence us on this record” Edouard explains. “We discovered new aspects to songs such as “Bruk” and managed to push forward the energy side of the music from the rawness of the live shows. This energy empowered to produce and compose new material in the same vein”.

As we enter our fourth year as a label, we welcome San Francisco based Chrissy to the Dansu Discs family for DSD017. He specialises in rave-influenced sounds, Chicago house, and disco, but his 20-year career has ranged from jungle to footwork to freestyle (he literally has it all!). His strong reputation as a ‘genre bending’ producer is one that is fully deserved and he proves just that in this record. On the B side we welcome back Soundbwoy Killah and Denham Audio, both providing a killer remix to top off one of our most exciting projects yet.

Kerri Chandler is house music royalty, and he is next to take the reins of the ever essential DJ-kicks mix series. His sumptuous selection is out on October 20th and arrives with a substantial release tour that includes a launch party at this year's ADE.
Without New Jersey native Kerri 'Kaoz' Chandler, house—specifically deep house—would sound very different. Ever since his teens he has been making and playing music with a unique sense of soul, jazz and deepness. From majors like Atlantic, King Street Sounds and Nervous via his own Madhouse, his releases are never short of genre-defining classics that have spawned a thousand copycats. Affectionately referred to as the Stevie Wonder of house, Kerri's DJ sets take him all over the world and often find him playing live keys next to his informed selections. He's meticulous about sound, too, which means that no-ones kicks hit quite like Kerri's.His instantly classic and timeless DJ-kicks mix, though, takes him out of the club and through a world of influences and inspirations. It's like me taking you for a walk in New York,' he says. Like a music tour guide, we go through Brooklyn, Soho, midtown, the Bronx and Uptown, and parts of New Jersey.' The resulting selection is an unhurried and very personal mixtape with blends, fades and cuts all allowing the music to do the talking. At various points throughout, we hear Kerri speaking into the mic, and that only adds to the feeling that you are sat in his living room as he pulls out all his favourite cuts. He also lays down some of his magical keys at various points, lending yet more personality to the mix.

His production skills have gone through the roof in the years since I met him, and he has mastered the art of the curveball track - evidenced by his debut EP on Trippy Ass Technologies. I am thrilled to welcome Nima to the TAT family.'

'eleVAte Vol. 1' explores the more profound and invigorating, sonic excursions that the label's artists have to offer.

Fresh from an EP on Midland's intergraded imprint, Otik returns for a disjointed offering with paranoid synth work and an arpeggio that fizzes through the tweeters.

Pugilist offers up dub stabs, analogue sirens with blips of space echo on 'Eclipse', with a garage swing and Rhodes, contrasting a ruff and ready sound palate of bass weight.

Metalheadz signee Commix, (AKA Endian), returns to DEXT for a tumbling UK bass track with swung percussion and side-chained textures of rising crackle.

Skull Disco, Applepips boss and dubstep icon Appleblim, returns from a recent album on Sneaker Social Club, offering 'Hydrothermal Vents', that sees him taint a 126bpm framework with his dubstep-tinged roots, providing room for the groove to move.

Part 2 of 2 - Two Full Minds are back, Bushwacka! & DJ Vorn dropped this incredible EP in 1996. It's very rare that you come across music from this time period that still sounds so very contemporary. Super original, amazing sonics, and guaranteed to smash out a dance, all of the cuts on 'Michael's Path' are insanely good. Chock full of sick drum programming, abyss-deep basslines and wigged out, spacey melodies these jams are here to stay... in your record bag! It's got everything you want really, it's the sound of truly original and underground heads doing their own thing. One can only imagine the impact these cuts had on the late 90's dancefloor?! Not sounding like anything else out there, even today. De Sluwe Vos (Dutch for 'The Sly Fox', a name derived from Aesop's fable of the Fox and the Crow) is the newest addition to the Dutch house and techno scene. His productions are supported by artists such as DJ Sneak, Joy Orbison, Boddika andBicep. Moreover, De Sluwe Vos has a packed tour schedule and travels many miles for all his national and international gigs.

With strong hooks and dirty kicks as his specialities, De Sluwe Vos has released multiple tracks on labels like 4Lux and Slapfunk. Lately, this cheerful producer from Dutch city of Deventer has even been gaining a foothold in the pop scene. His gig at Noorderslag did not go unnoticed: national music platform 3voor12 named him the best act of the festival.

De Sluwe Vos mixes various styles to create his own 'signature sound' with which he manages to constantly keep himself at the center of attention. His 'OG Anthem' is possibly one of the most notable tracks of the moment, this underground hit found its way to the surface and received airplay on both Dutch radio station 3FM and BBC Radio1.

With his discography, De Sluwe Vos is constructing a steady career. But he's not one to stay hidden away in the studio: he's at his best when dominating dance floors in clubs and at festivals. His ultimate goal is to bring the crowd to a higher state of mind, where worries simply disappear and the music takes over. Time and time again, De Sluwe Vosprovides proof for the big bang theory with his performances. Whether it's at Awakenings Festival in the Netherlands or at Together Festival in Cardiff: during his shows he is pure energy. His duet between his Roland TR- 909 drum computer and turntables is always a bold endeavor, just like his stage diving.

The fact that he is a fixture of the club scene is proven by his monthly international gigs, his own night The Core and his notorious live act. With the audiovisual show 'Kontra live', De Sluwe Vos is well underway to becoming 'one of the greats'. And that's no fable!

Drawing from a diverse array of contributors, Suggested Forms gathers the asymmetrical rhythms and polyrhythmic dancefloor freakouts from New York multimedia artist Tristan Arp’s first EPs. Alongside twisted reworks from Dominican dembow and reggaeton producer Kelman Duran, techno experimentalist Machine Woman, and Brooklyn’s Beta Librae, the Human Pitch cofounder’s syncopated rhythm science serves as a strange and playful take on leftfield bass.

Estonia has never been the epitome of electronic music, but there might be an exception here: In the early to mid 90’s Jaanus Veerberk aka Agony intensively produced tracks on an Amiga 500 at Raua 12 street in post-Soviet Tallinn. The tracks testify to a maturity and creativity that one would hardly expect from an 18 year old at the time. On the 'Raua 12 EP' you will find a selection of his works that span from House to Techno and express an originality that seems almost uncanny in the light of Estonia's remoteness in terms of electronic music at that time...

Molar has the honour to release Agony’s first vinyl record and to breathe new life into these almost forgotten treasures!

Second time around for "High Flyer", the sole single from The Underground Sound of Rome side project Ricardo. It first appeared on Vibraphone Records way back in 1992 and has since become an in-demand chunk of original Italian deep house. This re-mastered reissue includes the same versions as the original pressing. The A-side boasts the original mix, which while Italian in origin sounds like a sublime mixture of dreamy, Nu Groove style NYC deep house and New Jeresey garage. Arguably even better is the "Angel Mix", whose ethereal, elongated chords, epic ambient build-up, undulating bass and humid electronics are much closer in tone to the kind of "dream house" tracks that were all the rage in Italy following the success of Sueno Latino's 1989 single of the same name.

The Trimmers EP contains 2 originals, the first in the form of "LHR.AMS", a heavyweight slice of UKG with strong influences taken from the European house scene and also their drum n bass background. "Trimmers" is a raw dub and jungle infused cut with a sub layer guaranteed to shake speakers stacks. INSTINCT joins for a remix and switches things up by adding a catchy vocal which definitely passes the old grey whistle test.
