House Vinyl New Releases - News

Jose Rico launches the new Le Disque Record Store's project: Ambiwa Records, a label dedicated to abstract House music.

"Declaration of Intent EP" is a collection of songs with a history, 4 pieces of his life talking about hypocrisy referred to poverty, the trivialisation of music as money source, the days in the studio with Ron Trent, and the night music-workers.

Beyond any related stories, here you can find all the Jose Rico's Music standards: Impossible Mpc percussion patterns, black keys, vocal textures, distorted kicks and tons of suspense and tension. This just means ... music for the most demanding dancefloors and open minds. As it could not be otherwise, mastered by Jose Rico.

OIWA - the new subdivision of Aiwo rec. presents Rave Racing Top Hits Vol. 1 - a various Rave Race selection of Oldschool Electro-Hiphop Crossover / Boss- / and Breakbeats compiled 4 the floor by: DJ Normal Quattro & DJ "Volcano" Carrera.

Phonk D connects with his buddy Le Rubrique. They created three real floor bangers with some heavy punch. Raw MPC drums, disco samples and classic synths melt into a deep funky mixture. As a very special goodie they could team up with the great Borrowed Identity, who contributed a pretty nice remix to this EP. Watch your feet!

Studio Barnhus' love affair with Lukas Nystrand von Unge continues with his second EP for the label, a collection of six tracks recorded between 2010 and 2016. From A1's sturdy take-'em-to-church organs, through a goulash of the sweetest, roughest lil' house jams you ever heard, all the way to B3's cut-up disco jubilation, this record is a perfect example of why the sounds coming out of Tensta Tape Academy remain so endlessly fascinating to us. Love story to be continued shortly - in the meantime: Go grab your copy real quick, deejay!

For their 12th label anniversary, Jazz & Milk have decided to launch a new series called "Twelve Inch Jams" in order to celebrate vinyl culture and the legendary 12" format!

JAMS002 sounds the bell for the second round of the series including a 10 years re-issue of the classic Sam Irl cut "You Don't Feel Enough". Originally released as a B1 tune on his "African Dance EP" debut on Pulver Records in 2007, this jazzy house gem found its way into the record bags of many influential DJs over the years. From Session Victim, Glenn Astro, Max Graef to Hodini... the record never disappeared in club sets but certainly from discogs a good while ago.

So it was about time to give the tune a second life and finally press it on the format it deserves - a whole 12" side. The German production duo Session Victim are well-known fans of the track describing it as their secret weapon playing it in quite many DJ sets for years, including their 2015 appearance for Mixmag's DJ Lab.

Hence, it is a great pleasure that Session Victim contributed a remix to the new release. Their absolutely elegant and groove-driven version with a charming 90's touch to it makes a brillant counterpart to the original with its jazzy piano-, drum- and double bass samples leading to an epic synth break that regularly causes ecstatic moments on the dancefloor.

Limited repress of the famous Bob Sinclar's first album "Paradise".

The rtct. records posse found themselves a new family member for their upcoming record. This time it's the Austrian house legend Demuja delivering a bundle of three crunchy house tracks going straight to your legs.
No other than Urulu is topping things off with a percussion-heavy remix of 16 Volt, which is stepping it up a good notch.
As a result you're getting a bunch of quality club tunes that were built to last!

Just like their previous release by Leo Woelfel, the record comes with a seal of freshness, so rip it open and enjoy limitless playtime with maximum flavor.
Buy the vinyl and find the easter eggs they have planted for ya!

Brodanse´s 'Danse Club Records' returns with another 90`s New Jersey gem reworked for 2013 with remix duties this time going to Just Be, Lula Circus & Chubby Dubz ... Danse Club Records, the label started by DJ/production sibling duo Brodanse has made a sterling start so far with releases of classic 90`s US house cuts remixed by the likes of Matt Tolfrey, Oliver $, Moodymanc & Brodanse themselves.

The reaction has been outstanding at a time where there is an obvious embracing of all things nineties and DJs such as Danny Tenaglia, Maxxi Soundsytem, Seth Troxler, Huxley & Dusky have been queuing up to lend their backing. For their latest release Danse Club look once again to New Jerseys historic shores, this time picking up an old record from US soul house duo The Burrell Brothers and drafting in three hot production acts to rework this much loved tune.
To start the package we have the original "club dub" version, giving an insight into the records history with it`s mid nineties feel and production still standing up wonderfully.

The first of the remixes sees Crosstown Rebels and Get Physical artist Just Be AKA Matthew Bushwaka deliver his"Insomniac mix",
a bumping slice of underground house music that marries a bass driven groove, organic percussion and subtle melodic elements with snippets of the vocal to supreme effect.

Next up we have Italian production duo Lula Circus whose releases for the likes of Culprit and Noir have been creating quite a stir. Here they deliver a brilliant rework of "Non Stop" in the shape of a deep old school house workout that makes the most of the soulful vocals with its simplistic, hypnotic backing. With its timeless quality, this mix is certain to be mainstay in DJ boxes for months and years to come.

The penultimate version sees the excellent Chubby Dubz offer up an outstanding mix that cuts and pastes the original parts in a raw house style. Closing the package there is a bonus dub of Just Be`s Insomniac mix that rounds things off nicely. This is another winning package from the Danse-Club label and with original artist material from Brodanse in the pipeline alongside further remix packages there is much to look forward to.

Besides launching his fresh Bodybuilder Quartet series (QSB), inaugurated by Scott Franka, Nachtbraker unveils yet another Quartet: four records in the The Trophy Quartet series (QST). Both these two Quartets will be released over the course of the next two years. The Trophy series will cover the warmer side of the house music spectrum. And who better than Parisian boy-wonder Tell (Banoffee Pies, Skylax, Rutilance) to kick off proceedings with the brilliant 'Faster Than Light' EP. Last year he released 'Hope Springs Eternal' on QS003 which was an overnight succes after getting rinsed by heavyweights like Jeremy Underground and Detroit Swindle, so a proper solo EP was inevitable. On the A1 Tell serves up some intergalactic French filter house dubbed 'Faster Than Light', which brings back the Daft Punk and Armand van Helden vibes of our Walkman-days. We all just love filters, admit it. Its true. Next up is 'Ya'll Feel That Honey (Paradise Mix)', a tune with undeniable swing and moody chords that ultimately collide beautifully with a delectable big room piano riff that will stay in your head for days. B1 opens with a leisurely-paced jam called 'What Can U Do For Me'. It's the 'pretty one' of the EP, the one girls fall in love with and boys hate to love because they know he's hot stuff. A high pitched vocal, asking what you can do for her, flies over rubbery Rhodes chords with neat percussion keeping you on the groove. The EP closes with B2 'Vamos A La Playa'. Keywords: coconuts, sand, bikini, six-pack and tan. Vamos! Large and in charge.

Hot on the heels of the smash release from Superlover, MOTHER RECORDINGS welcome back SIMION to the label with his THE RHYTHM EP. SIMION presents two cuts of upfront house music that are prime for the dancefloor.
First up is title-track, 'The Rhythm', a nod to the 90s Chicago sound with jacking drums and a sensual female vocal. Backed up by a funk-fuelled bassline and a lush piano breakdown that lead into a deep house groove.
The B-side 'Feeling Good' is true to its title. Tight percussion, chopped vocals and a catchy synth line all come together in a fluttering climax. This one is sure to leave any dancefloor shaking.

MOTHER060
MOTHER RECORDINGS keeps up the heat with a new EP from DILBY. Known for his shows on Ibiza Global Radio and his beats on Toolroom Records and Bondage Music amongst others, he is one of the finest New Zealanders in the game.
WORK YOUR BODY goes first and is a squelchy Tech House tune with gritty bass, tough drums and a no frills groove that really will work the floor. It is also finished with a naughty, rude boy vocal that adds more fuel to the fire.
DANCE TO THE RHYTHM is more fiery, with bass stabs, rolling drums and female vocal coos. It is fresh house music as ever from this label and the cosmic synths that rain down add some vital colour. More dance floor dynamite from the MOTHER crew.

Has underground house really run out of ideas

The aesthetic is no doubt getting worn out: you can barely move for tounge-in-cheek DJ aliases, palm-tree emojis and VHS screen grabs of 90s A-listers.

Against that backdrop, Helter cuts through like a rough-edged asteroid.

"Polaris EP", The London producer's debut vinyl release after a few leaked tracks created a buss on SoundCloud, hits the reset button on the hackneyed discourse that surrounds decayed house music.

The four tracks on offer cascade between blasts of tectonic rhythm, colour and melody, and washed-out ambience, intertwining and soaking into each other.

The deck is still broken, but it punches in all the right places. A sun-warped, boards of Canada sequel pumped full of adrenaline and grit.

The soundtrack to a broken ecstasy, sure to leave half the kids in a trance and the other with shit dripping down their legs.

Helter is pushing the genre of misshapen house music into a new dimension - one with more energy, and through a truly shattered lens.
