This project started off as a bootleg (under the name Burglar Tom) released by Phil Kieran back in 2007. Back then he was just putting out a tune he really wanted out there, cutting through the red tape. But as occasionally happens this one was too good to have such a limited release. Picked up and played by many top djs, it eventually found it's way to the ears of Bush Tetras' vocalist Cynthia Sley, via the good people at Optimo in Glasgow. She loved it. They put her in touch with Phil, and the result is this official release.
There are four tracks here, all instant dancefloor favourites. From Phil we get that original bootleg track, the appropriately names PK east village mix, with its nod to the New York scene Bush Tetras were so influential in, this is the track that will find favour on the playlist of the discerning indie disco as well as the techno scene. There's a a new PK techno mix, and new mixes by two of the biggest names in techno: DJ Hell and Dave Clarke (here with Mr Jones under their 'Unsubscribe' alias). With the PK techno mix Phil takes the tune into familiar territory with the driving percussive techno he's so rightly lauded for.
DJ Hell, well versed in post punk having worked with the legendary electro pioneers Suicide, gives us a darker spacious electro rebuild of Phil's original track, complete with analogue sounds and some neat twists and drops along the way. The Unsubscribe mix fits it out for the big room, with the new synth riff and repetitive use of Cynthia's 'ding a ling' vocal taking us into 21st century rave territory.

Before the Release of his Debut Album on Ki, Monokle throws in an EP to show us what to expect. Great follow-up to the successful Vicious EP Mangue keeps its high quality level.

The first track, "If my eyes are true", is a love song written and interpreted by Carolina Bubbico, a pretty and ingenious italian girl who already achieved fame with her female rock band Lola & the Lovers.
The second track is a very old popular song reworked by Cristian Carpentieri and Donatello "Cusci" (keyboard player of Steela, famous dub band in Italy). "Lu Rusciu de lu Mare" is a dialect song from popular tradition of south of Italy and speaks about an impossible love between a princess and a soldier, the song was written many centuries ago.
The other two trax are the new EP by italian Nite Clerks and russian Attaboy, title is "In the Clouds" and it's a deep journey into contemporary house music. The remix is by James Mile.

In co-operation with a guitarist, live drums they produced their debut album 'Music Fetish' in ReSound Studio. The studio is located in Voždovac, a part of Belgrade where you can find the Vi Två Records office too. 'Music Fetish' contains 10 original tracks + a bonus remix of Liquid Sound´s 'Cloud Hunter'.

Following a 12' for Doc Daneeka's TTY, Presk returns home to deliver his second 12' for Fourth Wave. Delivering his most progressive and unique work yet, Presk's latest injects some fun into his synth-heavy sound, while deftly swerving the moodiness of his future-techno contemporaries.

MELLEEFRESH is back on Play records after 3years break. with deadmau5 remixes !!

Following celebrated releases from Annie Hall, J. Wiltshire, MANASYt and J. Wiltshire, Amsterdam based label MUSAR returns to Ricardo Tobar for 'Nadivi', two earthy electronic trips, accompanied by a bewitching remix from Legowelt.

On this exciting release, Chilean-born Tobar continues his knack of blending the live tones of krautrock and electronica with a house and techno pulse, in a style not dissimilar to Luke Abbot or James Holden (Tobar has previously released on the latter's imprint, Border Community.)

Title track 'Navidi' finds him at his offbeat best, a genuinely progressive and psychedelic rolling house number that blossoms into something surprisingly epic while utilising only weirdo textures, askew basslines and otherworldly samples.

Legowelt, meanwhile, flips the energy of the original into an acid bath, blending his typical grit with a halcyon and dare we say, surprisingly funky bassline, while retaining the weirdo spirit of its source material. Finally, on the memorably titled 'The Structures Of Summer Are Within Us', Tobar rolls out a wistful, cathartic live jam that blossoms into something curious and perhaps unexpected, reminiscent of Silver Apples or Animal Collective.

Staking further claim as one of the most naturally innovative and feeling producers in the electronic music landscape, 'Navidi' is that rare sort of dance release; propulsive, intriguing and refreshingly lovely.

After a 10 year absence, Portugal's Question of Time Records returns in 2012 with brand new vinyl and digital releases. The label was a hugely influential house and techno imprint in the mid 1990s, with everyone from Sven Väth to Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, Mr. C, Tony Humphries, and DJ Pippi having supported its groundbreaking releases in the early days.

The label's first release of 2012 comes from QoT label boss and long-serving Portuguese DJ hero J. Daniel. The 'Change It' EP features six wildly different mixes of Daniels' new single (four tracks will be released on vinyl). Two of the mixes come from the co-founder of the new QoT - ambient house techno experimentalist Aqob. Overall the package is an entirely absorbing, intelligent and unique club EP that is impossible to categorise. It firmly sits outside the realms of today's club trends.

Whilst many around him are stuck in a never-ending loop, UNER is looking forward with his productions, incorporating new sounds and styles with each new release.

Fresh off the back of the relaunch record "Interceptor", by Classic's own Luke Solomon, comes the second release in the renewed campaign: "Milk & Cookies EP". Thomas Gandey's return is warmly welcomed by dance-floors worldwide. The artist formally known as Cagedbaby has consistently made tough, deep, cutting Techno and House based tracks, and his latest offering 'The Piano Track' is no different.

Mr.Gandey upped sticks to Berlin last year and one can really hear the city that holds so much weight in the history of dance music, in this his latest production.

Radio Slave and Thomas Gandey have long admired each other's work. They have a history of producing and DJing together and like Tom, Matt (Radio Slave) also comes from Brighton and now lives in Berlin. After hearing The Piano Track he dived straight in to the remixing it. In actual fact Radio Slave remixed the track in a different key and Tom re-played the piano making for a really special Radio Slave re-work.

The two other remixes on the package come from Southern Fried favourite Keith aka Marco Palazzo (one half of Italian duo Keith & Supabeatz), who serves up one hell of an Electro stomper that will rip sound-systems to pieces. And Rob Etherson (Glasgow Underground), the Glaswegian keeps things deep with a dance-floor friendly mix that marauds it's way through a concrete jungle of Techno!

These two guys seem to be new in the scene, but nevertheless they achieved huge success with their first hit
"Old Shatterhand" which soon reached No.1 in the Deejay.de charts.

Club Mod is a new endeavor by the Modular Recordings family. A series of 12" single releases aimed at some kind of dancefloor, Club Mod acts as one foot under the strobe and one in the future, an avenue for one-off releases with acts we've recently fallen in love with or those whom we've long time admired. It will be an eclectic, roughly monthly series in the name of dance.

The artwork for the new imprint has been lovingly created by the legendary Fergadelic. A demi-God of the graphic world, Fergadelic has created many incredible pieces of work in the last 10 years with his work for Silas, his own label Tonite, Slam City Skates, Stussy, Soulwax and Die Verboten. He's designed our 12" house bag with custom labels for each release and we're honored to be involved with him.

The 1st release is a by 120 Days, a 4 piece from Oslo who released an acclaimed self-titled record in 2006. In its original form, Holy Ghost!'s debut album cut 'Hold My Breath' is, pure and simple, great dancefloor electronic pop; in the hands of shadowy duo Tiger & Woods, the song has been totally reshaped and refracted through '80s R&B radio. They've slowed the pace and inserted synth-funk hot flashes that recall Prince - and, no kidding, The Time, and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis - to create a mood that fits comfortably (and pleasurably) within their 'future boogie' m.o. Cosmic Kids Ron Poznansky and Dan Terndrup have taken the track in a more tensely dramatic direction. It might be the vaguely darkened synthline upon which much of that track sits that lends itself to its more intense feel here, and gives it such a pleasant nocturnal feel. Finally, there's Falty DL's re-envisioning, which goes down awfully smooth for a track so full of the big, thick, bumping bass beats. It's an aural pleasure to find yourself dreamily lost in the Brooklyn, New York producer/DJ's halls of reverberating sound.
