Italian duo of deepness pop up on DKMNTL... dope EP!
After appearing on Aroy Dee's MOS label in 2012, Italians Ksoul & Muteoscillator are back with some more dusty and degraded sounding tracks, this time for Holland's irrepressible Dekmantel imprint. There are three new cuts in total from the pair, each exploring a slightly different yet always knackered house groove.
'Soul Hell' goes first and is built on heavy rubber kick drums. Shakers rustle along next to the drums and a bulbous, molten synth line freewheels up and down the face of it all as distant, soulful key stylings bring a human, jazzy touch to proceedings.
'Stinger' is even more crushed and crumpled sounding as the kicks scrap along, and here the colours from the keys and synths are just as muted and fuzzy edged. Like all three tracks there is a rough, frayed texture to everything hear - nothing is crisp or clean.
Finally, 'Detrance' is slow and purposeful with underwater sounding melodies echoing out into a humid night sky. Sharp, laborious hi-hats dangle in mid air as rippling synths offer a more liquid surface and overall the murky sound design really draws you in.

For the second instance in their reissue series, Echovolt Records treat us with four lush New Jersey house gems, originally recorded by Wayne Gardiner in the early 1990s. Now remastered and pressed loud... TIP!!
Wayne Gardiner is mostly known for his releases under the 'Logic' and 'Classic Man' monikers, on labels such as Nervous and Strictly Rhythm. In 1991-1992 Gardiner released two EPs on New Jersey's 'Right Area' Records imprint, under his lesser known 'Sound Source' alias. For their second official reissue, Echovolt Records select the best moments from those two releases and make them available onto one EP, with extra mastering of the original DAT files.
"I wanted to create an ambient project full of space and time. The Naked Theme EP was just that. The title "naked theme" means - all music creation for this project is original concepts and came from objects of pure thought... music creation comes from mental and physical capacities.... music is, and always will be an exact impression of one's inner self, an expression from within" (Wayne Gardiner, 2014)

Quietly making his entrance into the club: Terekke once again delivering low key yet powerful, haze inducing productions. On this record he moves through various worlds, sometimes uplifting, sometimes nodding out - maybe even entering into the darker ambient side of the spectrum. Either way, these cuts are take you into the zone with no turning back. TIP

Lawrence la Doux with a new release that explores dance music possibilities further.
Four house- and techno-inspired dancefloor tracks from Lawrence La Doux, a Brussels producer who has released under various aliases over the years. Keywords here are Sun, Acid, Mellow, Kick, Distortion, Bounce.
Over the years the man now known as Lawrence La Doux has assumed a variety of artistic monikers - Sun OK Papi KO, Jacuzzi Notebook, rbdx - and been a part of various bands - The Fan Club Orchestra, Mouche Man, Baleine 3000. As La Doux he first emerged a few years back, as Sun Papa & Lawrence Le Doux, with a sound that moulds club tropes like so much plastic material. What you thought you knew wasn't quite what you thought you were getting. A bit like the man himself, his sound isn't what it necessarily first appears to be.
He returns in 2014 with Terrestre, a four-track 12" EP for Vlek that further explores dance music possibilities from the comfort of anonymity, shaping styles until the distortion he forces upon them passes from the uncomfortable to the pleasant.

Fear of Flying delve once more into the world of long players with Leif, someone who has been a feature of the label since the labels inception, having contributed seven releases on their combined journey together. 'Dinas Oleu' is the culmination of that journey; a sonically refined trip through hazy deep house and tripped out ambient skits.

Nicole Willis, soulful chanteuse, releases another single from her acclaimed LP "Soul Makeover" - "Siesta" in late June.
"Siesta" is one of the slower, more sultry tracks from the LP, and this time around, it gets two new mixes: one from Finland's Roberto Rodriguez,a spaced-out soulful dub groove and a garage mix from Temple of Soul.
More surprises abound with the B-side remixes of "Heed the Sign", also from the "Soul Makeover" LP. The first mix comes from Finland's premier spaceman and husband to Ms. Willis, Jimi Tenor, a fresh and surprising acid house workout! Iceland's GusGus also deliver a remix with laid back grooves and Chris Dawkin's guitar solo.
Nicole Willis is from New York, and this track is taken from her debut LP "Soul Makeover", produced by Nicole, Maurice Fulton and Jimi Tenor. However, Willis is no stranger to the recording industry. She has recorded with a variety of artists including Leftfield ("Swords" track from "Rhythm and Stealth"), Curtis Mayfield (!!), the The, Wax Poetic, and Deee-Lite. She also fronted the group REPERCUSSIONS (Warner Bros. US) from 1989-1995, with its New York-style of acid jazz. Her forthcoming LP for Sahko is a blend of sultry house, electro Motown soul and deep grooves.

Ali's new highly anticipated single 'Another' has been dubbed one of the most requested tracks of the summer from label boss Damian Lazarus. Co-produced with Steve Dub 'Another' pumps a four to the floor beat with glitchy percussion and distinctive psychedelic vocals. Techno soul at its best.
The single comes with remixes from Tuff City Kids (aka Gerd Janson & Phillip Laur) and the inimitable Felix Da Housecat. Tuff City Kids channel Reese, and drive it deeper, whilst Felix Da Housecat smooth's things out and turns the emotion dial to 11.
Ali is busy putting the finishing touches to next year's album. 'Another' is a sign of big things to come.

DJ W!LD's 'Sweet & Spicy EP' is the 10th release on the Parisian's own imprint 'The W Label' and see's W!LD continue the fine form that has seen him reach the #8 spot in Resident Advisor's 'Most Charted Artists of
2012'. W!LD's unique style of stripped-to-the-bone crunching beats, probing basslines and almost impossibly long, captivating breakdowns have seen him grace labels including Cabin Fever/Rekids (who released his album 'D!RTY'), One Records, Act Natural, Snork Enterprises, Robsoul and Catwash amongst many others in the past 12 months. The 'Sweet & Spicy EP' continues in the same vein all carefully road-tested by W!LD, the focus is on the dancefloor with influences From funk to acid all underpinned by those strong relentless grooves. Since his first single 'Masquerade' dropped on vinyl just over a year ago, Forrest's profile has continued to rise, with releases on Noir Music and Mobilee and forthcoming on Visionquest.
This latest release EP, his debut for Midnight Vision, demonstrates Forrest's versatile sound. The lead track 'Shiny Suit Man' blends hypnotic, cheeky vocals with dusty drums to create a roller, which sounds great both in the headphones and on the dancefloor.
My Factory continues on the deep tip mixes with vocal samples and modulating synth lines creating a smokey atmosphere. A slinky bassline drives the track along and will get any floor moving.
Beverly Hills teases us with an uncomplicated arrangement of more slick house with sustained strings providing the tension and a great use of a female vocal sample.
New kids on the block Bodhi bring a garage swing to their remix of Shiny Suit Man kicks. Heavy syncopated 808's paired with shuffling synths bring a new flavour to the EP.

1500 bodies writhing to a relentless beat; don't be surprised if the soundtrack to that moment is 'The Black Lodge' over the coming months. This 13-minute beast rampages along; creaking, cracking and crunching at every possible opportunity. Indefinable sounds emerge from afar, only to disappear into the vortex and then reappear throughout to dramatic effect. A master class in automation, the elements echo, pan and filtrate, with only the finest sound systems able to truly do the production justice.

Philadelphia native Hollis P Monroe is a man who has been slowly
and steadily building a respectable catalogue of music since his
debut on Canadian label Stickman in 1997. Appearances on Josh
Wink's Ovum and the legendary West End label have all helped
establish Hollis as a talented writer, producer, vocalist and DJ
having recently been drafted in for collaborations with the likes
of KiNK, Trickski and Rampa. Here we find him producing under his
new moniker The Black 80s in collaboration with Frank Julien, and
following hot on the heels of a killer release for Compost Black
Label.
For their Freerange debut The Black 80s have created an expansive
slice of deep, electronic house on Move On. The expertly crafted
minimal production really highlights the warmth of the song and
creates space for the vocal to shine. Tried and tested by Jimpster
from South Africa to Berlin, this is a standout track with that
perfect balance of raw simplicity for the dancefloor and depth for
longevity.
On the Overnight Mix of Move On things tread in a more
experimental, leftfield direction with filtering breaks and layers
of dust and noise creating an abstract and edgy backing,
complimenting the sweetness of the vocal perfectly.
Finally, we have Kollektiv Turmstrasse providing their own
inimitable spin on their remix, fattening up the beats and adding
more drive which builds perfectly to the breakdown where we're
introduced to an echoing bassline and finally, the full vocal.

Next up on Rekids, a veteran of dance music bestows the 'Celestial Vibrations EP', a flawless package of original material under project alias The Rhythm Odyssey that's all acidic analog rawness and fuzzy vintage synths.
Dean Meredith is one of the most prolific and versatile producers on the planet with a prodigious career that spans over 20 years. A founding member of Chicken Lips and Bizarre Inc, Dean went on to produce lo-fi analogue funk gems as White Light Circus for DC Recordings and Goat Dance for Bearfunk and Rogue Cat on Tiny Sticks. Recent project Mind Fair (with Ben from Main Stem) was channeled through International Feel/Golf Channel/Rogue Cat Sounds and NY label Let's Play House released music from alias The M.E.B.
Now Dean is up to some dirty house tricks as The Rhythm Odyssey, favouring that gritty warehouse jacking smoke-machine-drenched fizz. So far releases have dropped on Lipservice, and Leng with collaboration with Eric Duncan (Rub n Tug, Still Going, Dr Dunks) on Endless Flight. Following a series of EPs for Golf Channel Recordings and an album on Lipservice, The Rhythm Odyssey has now arrived at Rekids armed with the'Celestial Vibrations EP'. Label boss Matt Edwards snapped up the tracks after hearing a sneak preview and it's about to be unleashed in all its unadulterated glory.
Kicking off with 'Ride On This', a distant cowbell is soon engulfed by a marauding acid bassline. Tough and sexy, rich in rhythm and analogue drums, it's no doubt got that air of warehouse nostalgia. Next up, Detroit-inspired 'I Need It' journeys into a deeper realm of hiss and noise, 'get on and party' vocals and the melodic synth line, soon melting into lush chords. On the flip, more raw percussion collides with a cosmically funky edge. B1 'Corner Of My Mind' combines synth stabs and soaring string chords, with a hint of bassline funk creeping in alongside shimmering shakers. Further on the trippy, cosmic tip, the stripped down grooves of 'Raw Nerve (Dub)' are immersed in warm, spacey FX and quirky pitch bending synths.
