Italy's Kid Mark follows up his much revered releases on Swink & Deso Records by delivering an EP that demonstrates his qualities of producer of that 'pure' house music sound.

Opening with 'All Of Me' we are given a taste of things to come with luscious sweeping pads and a vocal hook that rolls in tandem with the bass line creating an infectious groove.
James Johnston is the man behind the remix taking 'All Of Me' in a direction that has cemented his reputation as a master remixer. He compliments the original sound with cleverly layered pads and pianos intertwining the vocal hook creating a sublime orchestra effect.
The B-side opening track takes us in a completely different direction with '909 bullets'. Driven along with an off-beat acid stab and a triple hit chord loop, Kid Mark shows he is more than capable of creating a sound for much darker dance floors. The final track 'House Is Da Way' displays yet another string to Kid Marks' bow. Drawing influence from last years re-emergence of the 90's sound he cleverly crafts a main room monster using a mixture of classic drum fills and classic vocal snips.

LOVE REVOLUTION, the Brooklyn based label is back with their fourth release, this time from Chicago's underground legen JOEY KAY. 4 tracks from '91-'03 that have never been released on vinyl before: "I CAN'T STAND IT", "LET YOU GO", "AUTOMATED" and "CRYSTALIS". Hand stamped. Vinyl only.

The Atmospheric Existence label puts quality before quantity; therefore a new release from Miles Sagnia's operation is always something deep house enthusiasts should cast their sensory receptors over. Their first release of 2013 sees Sagnia feature alongside Thug Records artist Jacksonville and the mysterious Tales Ov Rossi for the Altitude EP. Label boss in call shotgun shock! Sagnia takes the lead with the wonderfully inventive "Alchemy" which drops a singular 303 tone intermittently between a hurried array of broken house and rushing chords; the results sound remarkably refreshing. Alongside it, Jacksonville is in full on star gaze house mode with "Tokyo" whilst Tales Ov Rossi 's "Flatpress" takes proceedings a whole lot deeper on the flip.

Dublin based duo, Dave Hargadon & Phil Long aka Slowburn make their debut on Lunar Disko Records with four machine-driven house and techno jams.
Fusing the percussive sounds of Chicago & Detroit with their trademark analogue soundscapes, Slowburn once again push deeper into the realms of house and techno with their third full EP, crafted somewhere between the Black Pitts and Contae Sligeach.
Slow-rising cuts demonstrating precision drum programming, delicate chords and pads, alongside some acute arrangement, make for another outstanding EP from two fast-rising Irish producers.

Hot off the heels of their red hot SADE edits the SOO WAVEY crew team up with Chicago house legend TYREE COOPER. TYREE
lends his vocals to VIN SOL's "IT'S HOUSE" alongside VIN's ZANZIBAR MIX. On the B-side MATRIXXMAN drops "REAL FRESH" and
last (but not least!) is "OUT OF THE BOX".

17. Gee-Man 'The Soul' (Pimp Daddies Mix)

Let's Play House turns its eye back to its home country for its 21st release, a four-track EP by Rhythm Operator.

The record commences with a collaboration between the mysterious producer and a new duo from Munich, Rhode & Brown, called 'Fiona's Room.' Like the banger he shacked up with Ejeca for on for W&O Street Tracks ('Raid'), the tune is a no-nonsense, club-igniting party-inciter enveloped in frantic, staccato keys, chopped-up vocal samples, and a warm, smooth bass riff. Following that bigness is a sort of palette cleanser, dubbed 'Real Hustle,' that's all swirling, visceral synth washes, spartan hats, and ambient sound effects.

The flip finds R.O. somewhere in between 'Fiona's Room' and 'Real Hustle.' 'Hope' is a driven and deliberate cut that chugs along with angular precision underscored by an organic, fuzzy melody, giving it extra weight and plenty of soul. Chamboché takes those elements and squares the track up further, morphing it into a robotic, high-octane shuffler. Hope is nothing if not diverse, a 12' that feels at home both in a nightclub and on a home stereo.

"THE REVIVAL EP" is a 4-track house EP done by Chicago's own ROY DAVIS JR. and SMOOTH AGENT label boss SEAN SMITH. Along with the title track you get "EVALUATION (INSTRUMENTAL)", "BUMPIN ENJOYMENT", and "GET ON BOARD". Smooth and stylish house grooves. Check this one out.

'Finally', features Reno Ka - singer, songwriter and producer. She is known for her eclectic mix of various musical genres including House, R&B and Soul. Reno's alluring lyrics and sweet warble, next-to-your-eardrums vocal delivery is propelled forward by an uplifting foundation of inspired euphoric Jersey barreling keys and shimmering strings. Terrence Parkers formula of atmospheric grooves and funky synth stabs has created timeless anthems that will work on any dance floor.

Louie Vega's reworking brings something different to the original while capturing true effervescence. There's a touch of intimacy in the wobbly keys, even some Yellow Magic Orchestra-style synths in the melody. Vega also works signature Latin percussion and quirky sleigh bells into the mix. Having inevitably reached the colour Black the series now enters its tenth year with the same impact with which they began. The music is still first-rate, soulful yet provocative and as you play through the numbers you've got to say there is no sign of filler here. Opening with the Nebraska remix of Salvatore Freda's Luv Can't Hurt you get the sense of history compacted by a contemporary flair that defines the label so easily. And, as you ease into the proceeding Set Me Free by Willie Graff & Tuccillo you know you're in good company. Moving between deeper moments, Tech and Disco and most points in between the selection features the labels releases over the past year, along with some new exclusives that notably finish with Mark Hand's sublime bass-warming Don't Take It All Away. This three song 12 inch titled "Japanese Zelkova" is a divergence from his last record in some sense, whereas the former was based around dusty crunched out samples and programming, this release is more focused on the man/machine element. Continuing on the tradition from the first in the series, 002 calls on Klasse family members as well as a few extended friends of the label and collates a beautifully put together release.


KLSUNDERGROUND002 takes the series in a decidedly darker direction and none better typifies this than the work of Kris Wadsworth, the young Detroit native brings his A-Game with 'Rules', a swaggering and moody acid-tinged track that ticks all the boxes of his signature style.


Klasse crew members Mr. Ho and Florian Blauensteiner team up on 'Crescendo' and proving two heads are better than one, the Viennese duo turn in a mean and powerful roller of a track. Arpeggiated synths and stuttered grooves provide a sturdy backbone to a track with bucketloads of attitude.

Following Todd Terje's incredible 2012 remix of Roxy Music's 'Love Is The Drug', Bryan Ferry has recruited some of the best producers in the world to remix his 1985 hit 'Don't Stop The Dance'.

Now released by The Vinyl Factory as a series of three super-deluxe limited editions of only 1000 copies each - with bespoke screen printed thick card sleeves housing 180-gram records mastered for vinyl by Noel Summerville at 3345 Mastering and crafted on the EMI 1400 in Hayes, Middlesex.

The track was originally the third single from the number one album Boys & Girls, and featured long-serving guest musicians Nile Rodgers, Marcus Miller, Omar Hakim, Andy Newmark and David Sanborn.

"The recording was done in various studios in London, New York and Nassau, and the whole process took about two years," recalls Bryan Ferry. "I wrote 'Don't Stop The Dance' together with my co-producer and engineer Rhett Davies, and I remember the track originating in some sessions we did at my home studio in England. We finally mixed the record with Bob Clearmountain at The Power Station studios in New York."

Isaac Ferry hand-picked the producers to Re/Make - Re/Model 'Don't Stop The Dance' in various guises, re-enlisting previous collaborators Todd Terje, Eric Duncan and Greg Wilson, alongside Idjut Boys, Sleazy Mcqueen, Space Coast, Punks Jump Up, and two versions from both Psychemagick and Grasshopper aka in-house keyboard programmer Liam Duggan.

"After the successful release of 'Olympia Remixes', we decided that my song 'Don't Stop The Dance' should really be revisited by a new generation of DJs," says Bryan Ferry.

"Since my first solo album in 1973 I've always tried to reinterpret other people's songs in my own way. So it has been good to hear 'Don't Stop Dance' in so many different incarnations. It's fascinating to see how some of the remixes focus on certain aspects of the song, and some on another...they all take the track to a variety of interesting places."

Following Lord Of The Isles' 'Year Of the City EP' Phonica Records return with a solid 3 tracker from North Lake.

'We've been fans of North Lake here at Phonica HQ ever since his Resista outing last year and his second EP on Sweatshop and contribution to the first Blank Slate release only reinforced our desire to release an EP from this talented producer.'

'Moonwalker' features three analog jams born out of live sessions - three beautiful synth cuts for home and club listening that instantly bring parallels to early Isolee material; melodic and heavy enough to whip up a frenzy on the dancefloor.

'Marlborol Noir' kicks off proceedings, chugging away effortlessly with it's ascending and descending synth riffs, the spawn of a long imprpvised session in the studio. 'Suomi Kutsuu' opens the b-side emphatically, a heavy galloping rhythm and an ascending synth riff dominating from the off. It's six minutes of pure analog battle gear. Rounding off the EP, title track 'Moonwalker' is a pacy mix of arpeggiated synths, intricate drum programing and eerie melodies that intertwine perfectly with the bass-heavy syncopated kick drum.

No 6 in the Waze & Odsyssey Street Tracks series sees the ubiquitous Citizen team up with the unheralded Ashworth for some upfront house business dipped in the naughty end of the 90s. Along with the Shona Carmen vocalised title track there is a LDN Warehouse Dub and B Side burner "State".

Ivano Tetelepta returns to duty on FOF after his well received 'True Colours' LP with a veritable potpourri of tracks in collaboration with various cohorts. First up Ivano's collaboration with Steve Siwalette twists and turns with a steppas' beat whilst melodic licks build the track up to it's anthemic break. 'Give Me Something So I Can Dance' w/Alex Jansen roughs things up with a low-slung dirty groove whist Ben Buiendijk injects an acidic flavour into his collaboration before Ivano & Bas Amro delve deeper with the sweetly melancholic tones of 'Manolia'.
