The 4th and final part of Hudd Traxx 10th Anniversary series comes from Ekkohaus, Mihai Popoviciu, Rio Padice & JT Donaldson. Previous parts featured tracks from the likes of Chez Damier, Agnes, Iron Curtis & Luna City Express. Part 4 keeps the high standards that Hudd have set and Ekkohaus steps up to open proceedings. 'Modest Fun' is a peak time house cut with a big sub bass, shuffling hats and lush keys to boot. Mihai Popoviciu's 'Two Minutes Ago' plays a hypnotic Xylophone hook mixed with the dreamy vocal chant of 'Don't stop, let's go' to round off the 'Now' side in a classy fashion. Rio Padice & JT Donaldson close out the EP on the 'Then' side being 2 of the label's biggest sellers to date. Hudd Traxx have been swamped with requests for a repress of Rio Padice's 'Dirty Belvedere' so it was a no brainer for this to make the cut. JT Donaldson's 'Just Bounce' was played by any DJ worth their salt in 2009, and it's clear to see why, as once you've listened once, it goes on repeat a good few times. A great way to close out this 4 Part 10th Anniversary series.

Every tenth release for boe recordings represents a significant achievement for the vinyl-focused record label and the numerical milestone is celebrated with a special release. The thirtieth instalment, BOE XXX is a true family affair with four recognisable boe artists and two new members added in. Leif's "That Ice Cream Tune" features shuffling and stuttering arpeggiated leads and metallic syncopated hats and snares. Spoken word hums and an ambient lead add that beautiful sheen to the production. Ben boe slots in a classy deep electro cut, "Spectral Gate" comprised of weighty analog percussion and shifting synthscapes. Nick Lawson returns to boe with yet another classy example of high-end deep house. "Wharf Aquatics" bubbles and grooves along with its effervescent dub delayed leads and it's liquid bass movements. Late night head music. A closely linked artist to the label, Life Recorder finally gets his debut on boe with a low slung grooving tech houser, "Butterflies". Aimed squarely at the dance floor this no-nonsense driving cut pumps and grooves for 7 minutes with its persistent Detroit style hook line. Reedale Rise provides "Quadrex"; a Detroit-esque electro track with DBX style hypnotism thrown in for good measure. Space age themes and Drexiycan like pads play off against shuffling percussion mechanics. Finally, after many recent contributions to boe 12"s, the steel city techno-forging don John Shima lays down a stunning piece of ambient work in the vein of B12 and those classic industrial sounds calledLiberation.

Rhythm Plate released one of the best releases on Hudd Traxx in 2007, half of RP returns under the guise of Goshawk for Hudd 055. Matt brings Astral T back with him for the A1 track and 'My Heart' certainly gives 'Inside Me' a run for it's money. Warm Chords, lush vocals and slick beats are all laid down to perfection to kick off the EP in fine style.A2 follows the deep tones set on A1 with the wonderful 'High In The Evergreens. The B Side kicks off in a more upbeat style with 'Yes In This Way' which would fit nicely in a Derrick Carter peak time set. Goshawk finishes off with a cheeky garage number that is reminiscent of Grant Nelson's early work on Nice n ' Ripe which can only be a good thing.

Water Jump' EP is the second EP from arguably one of 2012's most exciting new DJs and producers. Featuring 4 brand new tracks 'Drone Logic', 'Water Jump', 'Receptionist' and 'A Quiet Life' all illustrating Daniels variety as a producer and knowledge of underground club music, referencing the great music of labels such as Kompakt and Ghostly as well as many sounds originating away from the dancefloor, this is yet another big step forward for Avery. 'Drone Logic' has already had regular plays from The Chemical Brothers and a certain Mr.Weatherall who received upfront copies.
It follows the success of Daniel's debut EP on Erol Alkan's label Phantasy 'Need Electric' which brought support from Damian Lazarus, Maya Jane Coles, Four Tet, Richie Hawtin, Gesaffelstien, Tiga, Brodinski, Justin Robertson, Jackmaster - as well as the aforementioned Chems and Weatherall - to name just a handful. To add to this, Daniel also releases his brilliant Fabriclive mix CD on November 19th for the London institution where he remains a resident.

Chicago's Derrick Carter has long been a name steeped in House music mythology, a true original and a fierce DJ to boot.
His project with long-time collaborator Chris Nazuka from the mid 90's entitled Sound Patrol has always had a cult following and this long lost EP from 1994 is now finally seeing the light of day again!'The music EP', released on Carter's Organico label still sounds totally streets ahead today, a sublime 4 tracker existing in the deepest recesses of the dance-floor.

Tribalistic connotations meet mechanical technoid happenings in Within Lines. Remedying funk purveyed in its finest form provide an alleviating trip for the freaky chappies that get down with the consolatory illness. Rhythms contort and muster a decaying devastation, swaying and slaying precipitating a stomping disposition. Naughty mate!
Grey Lodge Smoke suggests an inclination towards pineal imagery, toasting odes of psy-infused headspace and vortex beaconing belonging. Slamming mid range focuses on swing and spacial awareness, all the while progressive low end and meticulously tuned percussion conducts a foray into the uber-dimension.
Cinematic sized Twofold Circus feels like a 2020 Deckard envisaged rumpus with subtle undertones of eastern aural imagery. It's got that GC endorsed thrill that counterpoints atypical thinking; characterised by many a luminary associated with the stable.
It's been said before and it'll be said time and time again, eyes down big face forward and tops well and truly orf.

This June Session Victim return to Jimpster's ' Delusions Of Grandeur' imprint with a third studio album. 'Listen To Your Heart' is the result of a year of cross-continental scripting, started in their Hamburg studio and wrapped up stateside in San Francisco's Room G Studios where the duo had worked on their 2014 LP 'See you When You Get There'.
Sampling still remains an ever present backbone throughout the album. Session Victim have dug deep for sounds, resulting in a richly detailed and organic sound collage that goes hand-in-hand with their live instrumentation, this time enhanced through several guest musician appearances, most notably Carsten "Erobique" Meyer (ex-International Pony). Smooth guitar samples are built up on 'Over and Over' while on 'Moons & Flowers' the live instrumentals that Session Victim do so well come to the fore.
The treasure trove of San Francisco's record shops proved to be a hard bait to resist and the pair spent a large part of their Californian time hunting for records to sample. Three new tracks emerged from these digging sessions, with the sweeping disco string arrangements on 'Shadows' standing out as a prime ode to days spent combing through bargain bins.
Listen To Your Heart is equally a product of the road. While heavy touring is often cited as a hindrance to the creativity of artists, Session Victim see their live shows as a catalyst to their creativity. Two US tours in 2016 gave the Hamburg duo the opportunity to take track sketches and fragments on the road to incorporate into their live shows and then digest them back in the studio. The playful funk soaked groove of 'Matching Half' captures the sense of movement present throughout Listen To Your Heart and the LP mix of 'Up To Rise', which caused heavy ripples when it dropped as part of 2016's Matching Half EP is an extension of the upbeat and euphoric groove that permeates the album.

Make Love In Public Spaces is a new but not so mysterious offshoot of a label which will be familiar to anyone who has been to a certain erotically charged discotheque with a big heart in East London over the last 4 years. They launch with a three track release from Adesse Versions that recasts underground 90s classics of some vintage in his own inimitable style. Adesse Versions is the anonymous alias of a techno producer with previous work for Ostgut Ton and Curle, showing his house side and who you will no doubt recognise from his most recent work Trus'me's Prime Numbers label as Adesse.

Hailing from the small town of Stroud, South West England, Marcel Lune has been quickly building his reputation as one of the hottest new talents in the UK Bass Music Scene.
Having discovered an 808 in his parents attic at a young age, it quickly became one his favourite toys and set him off on a musical voyage which is beginning to gather momentum.
Having already released a string of releases including a full album for Studio Rockers last year, this release with Local Talk is a new chapter in the ever growing Marcel Lune saga.
This debut for Local Talk is nothing short of brilliance.
An EP that sits somewhere between the early Floating Points days and Local Talk's very own Crackazat jamming with Harvey Sutherland. From the opening track 'Sketches' Marcel brings broken house rhythms, piano chords and dancing acid lines in a glorius way. The clever vocal arrangement on 'Eat Good' takes no prisoners and on the flip 'Crazy Love', another vocal track, Marcel slows things down a bit together with vocalist Bluesz.
The EP ends with Soul Music, upping the energy level slightly with its snappy, jazz-influenced beats and dancing synth lines.
A beautiful and fitting addition to the ever expanding Local Talk catalogue.

After a weekend of old-school partying in the clubs & hanging with Baby Bam from the Jungle Brothers in Brooklyn, they called over Carol C & Lisa Shaw to lay down some vocals. Going for that straight ahead 90's hard hitting house vibe, Bam flipped his verse to show everyone how it was done back in the days. French house producer ART OF TONES aka Llorca (20:20 Vision / Local Talk) made 2 remix versions on the flip-side taking it deeper for the European dancefloors

After the US elections in November, Nickodemus decided the need to add another cover, updating Sagat's 1994 classic "FUNK THAT" for the B-Side. It features NYC house music party & radio host legends THE ILLUSTRIOUS BLACKS over a funky break & deep chords reminiscing the OG. "Question, how can someone who is sexist racist, homophopic, Islamophobic, and an ableist become president of the United States of America FUNK THAT!"
