Harvey McKay has been making waves in the techno world with releases on Drumcode, Cocoon, 8 Sided Dice, Soma and more. His most recent release for Drumcode is still sitting at number one whilst I write this and has been there for weeks! He has gained support across the globe as one of the hottest techno producers around which has seen him get lots of support from Adam Beyer on all of the most recent Drumcode Radio Live podcasts. As a DJ, Harvey has played some of the biggest clubs around the world and has an exceptional skill to read the crowd.

Harvey McKay has started his next single with his ethereal track 'Slip'. The ghostly pads that float over the top of a crisp, chuggy kick drum combine two different qualities before welcoming the percussive synth blips into the mix. The second track 'Silk Road' uses a killer vocal hook and heavy-duty synth stabs to full effect, conjuring up more of Harvey's unique style.

German Mark Jackus and Marcus Sur collaborated on this beautiful piece of music with singer/songwriter Golden Parazyth.
Noir Music is delighted to have signed the incredible 'In The Night' song which sits somewhere in between electronica and deephouse. This one works both as a club track and a treat for the ears when you just want some quality music in your life.

Tevatron is back on its Metrohm label with its "My Origins" concept. Inspired by the fathers of Techno he synthesizes his influences and his project is quickly acclaimed by one of the masters of the genre like Derrick May in others. "My Origins Part2" is an invitation to discover the roots of Techno, with this new version, Tevatron returns to the sources by offering us two beautiful timeless tracks powered by bass lines based on arpeggio, powerful beats with a groove supported, striking agreements with a backbone very representative of the Techno of the mid-90s. Laurent Garnier considers this EP as a new classic of its kind.

Astropolis Records brings out its 7th release, welcoming a distinguished guest from Scotland. Vince Watson, the Glasgow-based producer, chose the French melodic techno label to release Elektrik. His previous productions saw the likes of Cocoon, Planet E, Ovum, Tresor and very soon Transmit or Rebids...granting him worldwide reputation.Elektrik is a deep, emotional piece of melodious techno that can be relished at home as well as on a massive dancefloor. Dark chords,enticing bassline coupled to downy reverb progressively unfurls Vince Watson's flair, grasping the audience for a 9-minute journey to crepuscular, hypnotic and colourful universe.The B-Side highlights one of Astropolis Record's cornerstones, Frenchie techno activist Madben. Restyling Vince Watson's climb on a dancefloor-powered techno track, whirling and effusive, tenderly shady and mysterious, Madben brings the audience to an intense flickering excursion tinged with a smooth groove.

Born in Brighton, bred in London and now moving between Berlin and Ibiza, BEC has an omnivorous approach to electronic music that shows up in her productions; Techno with a twist. Her seventh outing on home label Second State continues in this vein as she balances hypnotic, driving elements with atypical flourishes.
“Lost In Change”, which gives the EP its name, layers a pounding kick with a bloodless, repeated vocal before a juddering synth launches the track into another gear. “Flux” pairs a springy bass line with siren FX to pleasantly weird effect, followed by the more intense “State Of Flow”, a euphoric collision of ravey synths and gurgling acid lines. “Holocene”, meanwhile, hinges on an impatient groove textured with whipping 808s. It conjures the delicious abandon of parking your worries at the door as you give in to the primal pleasures of the dance floor.
BEC has been an international touring DJ for the past five years, playing everywhere from Berlin’s Watergate to Australia’s Rainbow Serpent Festival and from London’s Egg to Nevada’s Burning Man Festival. Lost In Change is sure to advance the ascent of one of Techno’s most promising young stars.

The glossy melodies, jazzy motifs and hip-tugging bass of 'OP.AV' and the breakbeat house of 'Interlazados' channel more lo-fi, ambient house influences but all sent through that unique Boundary filter. Finally, the brain-warming, hypnagogic, tempo-changing rhythms of 'Planos de Ausencia Casualidad' could be the EP highlight and recalls the work of Lone and Actress.

You could listen to these tracks and be mistaken for thinking this is an artist who has maybe been lost in the throws of extended Villalobos DJ set or the deep pads of old Sun Electric records, but as an artist who is an outsider to the European dance scene, his inspiration comes from closer to home, as Boundary explains:

"For this EP I was interested to see if i could hit close to the feelings i have when I listen to certain video game music, how I could convey the amazing and deep storytelling in these songs. I really wanted them to feel like a ride/adventure. 'Opticamente Avanzando' ('Optically Advancing' in English) for me is like a venture into a machine that analyses a bunch of electronic music genres and it outputs as many different variations of these genres it can, each with their own little quirk/details, creating something unique in the process."

With previous releases on LA based label, Point Records, and Paris' Third Try label (Axel Boman, SFV Acid) Boundary's emergence represents a promising prospect for the electronic music world and 'Interlazados' another essential release on Secretsundaze."

Detroit's Derrick Thompson is back with his Drivetrain project serving some classic Detroit House cuts by himself, Cloudmaster Weed, J.Garcia, Danny JD & LeeLively. Some real treats on this various artist release. That J.Garcia is a lush deep house winner and the b2 track ''Swinging Forest'' is a real nice dubby techno/house hybrid. Recommended!!

Guy Gerber returns to his own RUMORS label, with his first release since the success of last summer’s ‘Rumors On The Dancefloor’ EP. ‘Secret Encounters’ is a hot doubled header of two killer productions by Guy.

Guy’s RUMORS label has quickly established itself as a breeding ground for innovative and progressive techno, thanks to it’s steadily-growing catalogue of high calibre productions. ‘Secret Encounters’ is Guy’s first solo EP on RUMORS, and more than lives up to the high standard he’s set for the label.

Featuring lead track ‘Secret Encounters’ and B side ‘Full Circle’, the EP strongly channels the atmosphere that Guy aims to create at his RUMORS event series and Ibiza residency; the producer previously revealed snippets of both tracks to the public in a recorded mix live from RUMORS at Destino earlier this summer.

Despite his increasingly busy touring schedule, the ‘Secret Encounters’ EP proves Guy’s love for the studio is as strong as ever. Horror Vacui is a term that stands for "fear of emptiness", in the art world. Certain Moscow characters known as Sil (Easy Changes), Anrilov and Cross (aka Sick Disco) fight their own, personal inner fears by the means of dark, mysterious and gluey house in this new collaboration.

Bep Kororoti & Akin debut on Modern Obscure Music with four Afro influenced tracks. Bep Kororoti released a self-titled mini album on Hivern Discs’ more experimental HVNX sub-label in 2016, but he is better known for making music as Kresy. Here, Kororoti is joined by Akin, who provides vocals and saxophone on this EP. Epomuyeñ is dancefloor cut with striking percussion and strong vocals, whilst Eruobodo is a sax dominated track. Ijotiya channels the spirit of Fela and Afrobeat over a spinning bassline, whilst Love is the only way has a deep spiritual vibe and a powerful vocal.

In January 1985 The Beloved emerged via a John Peel session (Produced by a very young Mark Radcliffe). They had a second session broadcast in October and didn't release their first single, A Hundred Words, until early 1986.
On the independent Flim Flam label they released a further 3 singles/eps , later compiled as an album, Where It Is.
By autumn 1987 they had slimmed down from 4-piece to the original founding duo of Jon Marsh & Steve Waddington.
Jon went to NY to pursue some label interest, meet some heroes - Mantronik, Latin Rascals.
& came back with a record box full of early house cuts. Within weeks he was tipped off by a friend about a semi-secret party in a gymnasium in Bermondsey. He went searching and found Shoom.
Having already shared the record box with Steve he took him to the club within a few weeks, knowing full well he would be equally enthused/entranced!
Having just been signed to WEA , notionally as a poster-fodder pop group, the band experienced a seismic shift in direction. Their first attempt , Acid Love, was on promo 12' within months. Their second house track was Your Love Takes Me Higher, first released in early 1989 with great club support but zero radio play.
The third was Sun Rising, late summer that year which became their first hit single.
The album, Happiness, a distillation of the fun & optimism & energy of the 88/89 (acid) house scene was released in 1990 to great acclaim and YLTMH even got a second release and just scraped into the top 40 at #39!
A remix album, Blissed Out, was released In autumn 1990, with a new recording It's Alright Now as a single.
Awoke is the most complete track from their last collaborative sessions.
Jon continued recording as The Beloved with his wife Helena as co-writer/co-producer.
Their first release in early 1993 was the single Sweet Harmony which was a major hit record worldwide.
Both single and the accompanying album Conscience were their biggest selling releases.
A further album X, with the single Satellite arrived in 1996.
A re-released Sun Rising and a best-of, Single File in 1997.
Then silence.
Remixes as The Beloved, several releases under different names (on Junior Boys Own, & NRK), and a full time dj career until 2005/6.
Still silence.
'I can't split up with myself so i think of it as hibernation' says Jon.

BLNK011 is the debut release by J Chrysalis. Produced between London and France in 2017-18, these tracks explore grief and transformation. Thomas Schumacher is finally back on Noir Music with another outstanding 2-tracker.Over the years me and Thomas have become great friends as we click on so many levels and share the same taste in dark, melancholic and emotional music. I have been a big fan of Thomas' music for many years and i am still a great supporter of his productions today so obviously i am honored to release his music on my label again. On these 2 tracks Thomas has recorded 2 authentic and raw tracks with a no holding back, zero bulls*** attitude. You can hear the "no formular" approach on both and i love that. We had an honest and creative back and forth A&R process on both tracks before and after testing them in the clubs and this has given both a unique and fresh techno sound. This is Thomas Schumacher's natural rhythm.

Direct and simple: Christian S embarks to Permanent Vacation and brings five house-not-house tunes.
The bitter gloomy title track “Tannin” vibrates with a dry bassline over which an acid-flavored synth-line
arguments with higher hi-hat spirits. Matias Aguayo added his very special ability for creating haunting
chords and drums to the tune “Dancer” and transformed it together with Christian S into a nervous
house sensation. In contrast, Cologne DJ and producer Korkut Elbay also did some twists on
“Dancer”. His edit concentrates more detailed on the witchy chord construction. With Columbian
producer Sano Christian S puts his love for percussive spheres on the table and created a tune that is
made for magic floor moments, when all dancers melt into to one entity. Finally, the enchanted solo
track “Passant” wafts gently while a nervous melody haunts the listener. It rounds up a free spirited,
percussive, edgy yet catchy EP that is made for all circumstances of the night.

With his 3rd release on Still Hot, Gorge proves again his skills and
instinct how to create timeless dancefloor tracks!
The title track "Escape" comes along with a crisp, bouncy percussion
groove before the deep melodic bass line kicks in, which giving the
track a hypnotic atmosphere that will stay in your mind.
"Going back", the second original on the release, sounds deeper and
more minimalistic. A subby bass is constantly pumping in the
background and gives the track a lot of depth. Spherical synths, pads
and vocal sounds make "Going Back" complete and a real open-air
bomb.
On top the release includes a Remix by the Romanian vizard Mihai
Popoviciu.

Rome based artist SofaTalk draws his inspiration from a melting pot of genres, including disco, funk, neosoul, boogie, broken beat and future jazz. He combines these classic influences with contemporary electronic sounds to form a truely unique style of production. He's also the founder of Cognitiva Records and a sought-after selector. For this release he creates four deep and laid back original tracks. London-based veteran Kaidi Tatham adds the icing on the cake with a signature broken beat remix. Exercices de Style opens the record on a smooth vibe with beautiful Rhodes pieces, and complex rhythms. On Telepathic Flute, as the title suggests, a flute lights up the mood, with the help of a saxophone and a guitar. The A side's third track, entitled The Hope Suite, moves towards a more mysterious atmosphere, built up by several tension moments with subtle releases. The B side consists of two versions of a track called Like a Magpie. SofaTalk's original version combines guitar, bass, trumpet, saxophone, flute, piano chords and drums for a full jazz house session. On the remix, Kaidi Tatham gives the original a funky twist by extending the guitar part, then adding his unique rolling drums and brilliant keyboard improvisations.

Fresh off the release of his 'Cosmo EP' earlier this year, longstanding label stalwart Fetisch reignites the fire with 'Singularity EP' - the second EP from the forthcoming Terranova album. A six-tracker featuring four original cuts plus a pair of remixes from Seattle's Pezzner and Istanbul's Rising Star Alican along with collaborations with Sifa (Congo) & Ivory (Milan). The outerspace'y stomp of Terranova's prime versions of 'Cosmochord' feat Flashmob and 'Cosmocode' feat Voltague, both lifted from his latest outing Cosmo EP, resonates deep into the grooves of the present platter, whilst the ethereally hypnotic vibe of 'Let It Fail' (feat. Sifa & Ivory), with its brittle percussions and slow-scudding pad tapestries, as well as the left-of-centre, hovering electro of 'Powergrid' draw in a further zero-G atmospheric vein and 'Sophia (Ode to a Robot)' are tailored for dawn-time party communion and intense stargazing momentums. All of these tracks are inspired by Fetisch's obsession with the current developments in creating artificial intelligence and robotic technology and his ambition to add androids to the impressive list of humanoid guests of the Terranova Soundsystem.

Already quite the jacking pumper, 'Cosmochord' gets a further menacing treat with Pezzner at the controls - ramming the doors of the club by means of loud kicks and lusty piano chords - each of them pounding with the impact of an apposite Glasgow kiss. Meanwhile Alican takes 'Cosmocode' further into Saturnian confines, densifying the minimal backbone of the track with an extended battery of arpeggios, bleeps and middle-eastern percussions thrown in for good measure. With the rolling techno shuffle of 'Escape Ism' and stuttering rhythmic engineering of 'Tempelhof' (the 'Terranova Maschinenraum' studio is located inside Berlins old airport). Fetisch loops the loop on a pulsating note, expanding the mind to horizons both poetic and physical - further establishing his unmatched sound signature.

A Biscuit Barrel Blues B Pull Tab 2 Open Short release info: Originally released on the seminal London Housing Benefit imprint,straight out of Swag Records many labels, Swag Classics 003 is the work of Eddie Richards and Gideon Jackson. Since it's 2001 debut the 'A' side Biscuit Barrel Blues has steadily become what you might call a bonafide, 100% kosher tech house classic. Delighting clued up clubbers the world over with it's laid back, but strangely compelling, effortlessly driving groove, it's a track that's grown in stature with each passing year. The other side Pull Tab To Open (bit of a fast food theme going on here) is another dance floor gem in the original tech house style. Now available again on vinyl for the first time in 17 years.

Gruuv-founders Audiojack will be releasing the latest single from their forthcoming album this April. Feels Good, produced in collaboration with esteemed singer-songwriter Jem Cooke, will land on Crosstown Rebels and includes a remix from melodic techno talent Patrice Bäumel. This is the second single to be released ahead of the album with Under Your Skin, made with Kevin Knapp, being the first.

Feels Good sets off swiftly, merging prominent kick-clap combos with shimmering pulses throughout. It’s a real peak-time number, enhanced by Jem’s touching vocal offering, that showcases the stripped-back and ethereal theme of the single. Patrice Bäumel’s remix soon arrives and brings with it a poignant combination of celestial pads and rolling synth tones, as Jem’s stunning lyrical contributions magnify the track’s moving nature once more.

Leeds-born and now based in Ibiza, Audiojack have been at the forefront of electronic music for over a decade. In recent times the Gruuv-label founders have released their Isolation Tapes series to widespread industry acclaim, using music to provide a way out from the feelings of anxiety caused by lockdown and separation. UK singer-songwriter Jem Cooke is no stranger to Crosstown Rebels. First debuting on the label in 2018 alongside Made By Pete on So Long, it was later that year that Audiojack went on to remix the single. More recently, Jem collaborated with Damian on Into The Sun from his 2020 Flourish LP. A well-established member of the Crosstown Rebels family, Patrice Bäumel is one of Germany’s greatest exponents. Recent productions on Watergate Records and Systematic Recordings continue to showcase the emotive sound with which he’s become best known, whilst his performance at DGTL’s virtual festival last year marked another step in his ever-flourishing career.

MISS KITTIN & THE HACKER are the Electro duo of CAROLINE HERVE and MICHEL AMATO from Grenoble, France. The pair met during the early '90s at a rave and soon after bought turntables and began DJing. In 1996, they began writing music heavily influenced by '80s synth and post-punk bands like Fad Gadget, DAF, Liaisons Dangeuresues, and Yazoo, as well as Italo Disco. Bored by the techno scene at the time, they set out out to lighten the serious tone and bring a campy sexiness to the dour musical landscape. Upon hearing their demos DJ Hell signed them to his Munich-based International DJ Gigolo label and released their first 2 EPs in 1998 and 1999. Their debut album First Album was released in 2001. Lost Tracks Vol. 1 contains 4 previously unreleased demos recorded between 1997 and 1999. The duo fused '80s European New Wave/Italo Disco with '90s Detroit Electro acts like Le Car and Dopplereffekt. By utilizing verse-chorus structures, they playfully shook up the loop based hard techno and electro that was popular at the time. Their studio set up at the time was a Korg MS-20, Roland SH-101, TR-606, TR-808, Siel DK80, and Boss DR-660 drum machine. The songs are direct, spontaneous, seemingly improvised in places. Miss Kittin sings about falling in love with an alien, sexy nightlife in Berlin, and explicit S&M leather play, all in her cheekily derisive French accent All songs have been transferred from the original DAT tapes by the band and mastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios. The vinyl comes housed in a glossy jacket featuring a black and white photo of the duo taken in 1996. Each LP includes a postcard with liner notes from Miss Kittin and The Hacker designed by Eloise Leigh. As Miss Kittin says of these demos, 'We were naive, innocent, adventurous and we didn't expect anything in return."

A very first vinyl edition for Insomnia Musique Lab brings us four very strong minimal and deep house tracks by Zepovek & Niim, Danie Meister, Andrey Djackonda and label boss Semiazas.

The next release on Tied features the debut release of Ciphr! A new alias of Max Jacobson and Christian Thomas, the EP features two original mind expanding tracks with a heavy jazz infused micro house sound. On remix duties Funk E delivers a darker stripped down version of Runnin and Silat Beksi give us a deep and grooving version of Saturnday, an unreleased Ciphr track.

As always, the return of Ruede Hagelstein is inevitable and with each return he ups the ante tenfold showcasing his ever growing prowess behind the studio door. It seems as if, with each Ruede EP, the amount of elements utilized shrinks while at the same time the sound grows in power and dominance and that could not be better exemplified than here.

Consisting of two originals and a remix from the one and only Martin Buttrich, the EP is a gross display of well thought out, mature dance floor jewels. Opening the short player is Hagelstein's 'Dematerialize feat. Justin Evans' where a sinister yet soothing vocal sets the tone for the entire track, laying the groundwork for a gorgeous bass drum and shimmers of distant percussion carry us into celestial spaces. 'Forward Vision' is up next and follows suit by relying on a brooding minimal groove to drive the shimmers of glistening atmospherics and sparkling sonics optimal for dizzy and delirious club moments.

Last but certainly not least we turn to the legend who is Martin Buttrich to twist the original 'Dematerialize feat. Justin Evan' into a more straightforward composition with his signature stylings
opening the doors of accessibility to a wider demographic of disc jockeys resulting in a track that stretches the playability to a wide range of disc jockeys making it a stellar addition and ensuring
the perfect variety to quench all desires.

Hot Creations continues its 2021 release schedule this February with a four-track EP from Josh Hvaal. Getting Better sees the UK talent return to the label, fresh from releasing his maiden EP, The Sound, on the imprint in March last year.

Basic leads the charge and takes no prisoners as it goes, pairing rapid kick-hat combos against layered vocal tones to create Josh’s signature late-night sound. Getting Better comes next, blending a retro acid vibe with an up-tempo lead bassline before the near six-
minute Oi takes the form of a heavyweight techno number. Tiptoe brings things to an emotive close, showcasing Josh’s eclectic style with drawn-out chords and percussion- laden breaks.

Josh Hvaal has become a household name in the contemporary house sphere in recent times. It was in March that the young UK-native achieved a remarkable feat: releasing his debut EP on Hot Creations. Such an achievement didn’t go unnoticed, with industry heavyweights soon playing his music in the form of Joseph Capriati, Andrea Oliva and many more. Releases have since followed on Yousef’s Circus Recordings, Malgado’s Distortion and Hot Creations’ offshoot Hottrax, standing him in good stead for another successful year in 2021.

There is great excitement in the kingdom of Monaberry. Hordes of Vulcans have invaded the human territory, and Grandpa Herbert needs a vast amount of ore to forge enough chocolate marshmallows to enable his army to withstand this threat. Anyone who does not obey the law is sent to the huge penal colony of Khorinis in these dark times to mine the ore needed.



The entire area known as "The Colony" is surrounded by a magical boundary; an area with a diameter of two kilometres, which completely seals the penal colony from the rest of the world. The border can be crossed from outside to inside, but once inside you can never escape again. The border became a double-edged sword however, because the prisoners saw an opportunity for revolt. The colony was now divided into four groups, and the king was forced to make a trade for his ore, rather than simply claim it. Each group sent its best artist and was forced to present the king the most important piece of music. For the blue group came Super Flu and brought Trombarossa. From the pink group Viktor Talking Machine was sent and presented Lars. Bar.ba came from the black group and served Rain. The green group sent Dorian Craft and Baron, and were the last to arrive with Azur.

Alex Pervukhin strikes back on Laconica label! This time he put inspiration from his obscure vinyl collection to production. So finally we have 4 dancefloor housey killers (we tested them on some secret gigs during 2020) with influence of early trance, progressive, breaks and everything that you can easily find on secret gems from 90s. From deep rich pads in «Trance OG» to bass-line in «Eurotrip In The Room» you can hear sounds of rare cards from Roland JV romplers, samples from that time, Akai MPC swing. Every now and then a release comes along for us which carries just that little extra bit of weight and significance and the Mind In A Daze EP from Solid Gold Playaz is one of those. The US duo have released some of my favourite house tracks dating back to the late nineties so it is a real pleasure to have them produce four amazing new tracks for us here on Freerange. Kenny Gino and Mike T have had many highly rated releases on revered labels such as DNH, Moods n Grooves, Silver Network and their own Solid Gold Records. Resolutely underground, and it’s fair to say criminally underrated, Solid Gold Playaz have stayed true to what they do by releasing the heaviest club music which connects on a far deeper level than your average new house release. I really hope you can give Mind In A Daze some time to grab you in the same way it has grabbed me.

Kicking off the EP the title track sets the mood with an SGP rolling groove, hypnotic synths and tripped-out vocal delivery from Mike himself. For me, they consistently hit this beautiful sweet spot between jacking Chicago house, Detroit techno and the more European IDM sounds of ART, Irdial and B12. Always deep and musical but with a focus on what will create a magic mood on a late night or early morning dance floor.

The Kiss gives us another expansive and immersive mood which can’t fail to draw you in. A driving house groove with punchy claps make the perfect counterpart to the blissed-out widescreen pads and glitchy mechanised synth sequence making for a very special track.

Let Me See You Jack goes straight for the jugular! Absolutely no messing about on this one, with crunching, unrelenting 808 beats laying a foundation for Mike’s twisted vocal drawing us to the dance floor. What I wouldn’t give to have heard this dropped by Ron Hardy at the Music Box!

Closing out the EP we have Optical Illusions, another SGP masterpiece for those who like it seriously deep! The long arrangement gives the track space to breathe and for that beautifully hypnotic vibe which SGP create so well, to really take hold. Serious Jackers Unite!

Fresh of the back of his recent 'Environments Ten' release on XVI Records, South London based producer and Brownswood Future Bubblers alumni Munro returns to his own imprint Arken Records, bringing a few friends along for the ride. Following on from his debut Arken Records 12", (a limited- to 100 run which gained him support from the likes of Bradley Zero, Jimpster & more) Munro enlists the help of long time friends Um River & Bard, and fellow Future Bubblers participant Revenu, delivering four upfront, forward-thinking and uncompromising tracks. From the deep, acid driven, broken beats of Bards "Tatala" to the cavernous, unrelenting energy of Munro's "Fall" - each cut seems to feed from the energy of the other, twisting and turning into constantly unexpected directions. A dark modular synthesis induced atmosphere hangs heavy throughout the record creating an almost dystopian soundscape at times. It's overpowering grooves transmit through empty space, perfect for soundtracking moments of nocturnal transcendence.

Live At Robert Johnson welcomes Amsterdam-based DJ and Producer Alain van der Born aka Perdu to the Club, who already made his marks with Releases on DGTL Records, Heist, and Let’s Play House amongst others. His contribution is a Four Track EP called Soaring Flights, including a Digital only Bonus Track. On this EP, Perdu champions a full-on 1980s sound, which hits more than one Chord in Live At Robert Johnson’s very own set of Styles.

Dystopia (co-produced by Tjade) is a High Energy Track, in which a raw and stoic Bass Riff slowly working its way into a Break. It’s the first Break in which the Atmosphere heats up significantly and subsequently sustains for the remainder of this quite enjoyable, and not quite dystopian rush on the Dance Floor. Retrograde immediately kicks off with a South American infused Rhythm Loop, joined by a deep and analogue Bass Serpentine, with bubbly Acid sprinkled along the way. Rise Of F5 brings back those 1980s signature pumping Kick and gated reverb Snare Drums, employing melodic and slightly haunting elements, which eventually dissolve in Euphoria and a Melody to hum along with (or shout, if you prefer). Somehow It’s Different Now concludes in a slightly different and quite mellow vein, that lets you leave this EP on the easy side. Available Digital Only is the Bells Mix Version of Perdu and Tjade’s Dystopia, for those inclined to a more melodramatic Dystopia with added playfulness thanks to—you guessed it—Bells (no whistles, we promise) …
