Rising Dutch talents Chris Stussy & Toman reveal their collaborative ‘Timewriter’ EP on new FUSE imprint LOCUS this July.

A leading collective at the forefront of the UK electronic music scene for over a decade, FUSE and label founder Enzo Siragusa continue to set the standard when it comes to releasing consistent and quality underground electronic music alongside hosting stand-out global events which encapsulate the brand’s principles – and 2020 has been no different, revealing a complete refresh to the core label whilst introducing a new project into their family tree. Launched by Siragusa and team to kickstart summer, new label LOCUS’ ethos will welcome material from across the house sphere, uncovering new music from rising talents and showcasing material from leading names alike. Having welcomed emerging Italian talent and Infuse artist KOKO to launch the imprint, the label now welcomes two of Amsterdam’s hottest property as PIV co-owner Chris Stussy and ever impressing No Art regular Toman combine to offer up their collaborative four-track ‘Timewriter’ EP to open July.

Title cut ‘Timewriter’ opens proceedings in classy fashion as hazy chords and bumping low-ends meet sweeping synths and infectious, filtered vocal hooks, whilst ‘Serendipity’ combines chunky bass licks alongside further delicate vocals and track accents throughout. On the flip, the lively ‘Zerlon’ ups the energy levels and journeys into a hypnotic trip through evolving lead lines and warped electronics, before closing with the wonky, off-kilter programming of ‘Boiling Point’ – a twisting production guided by organic percussion licks atop of cavernous bass hits to offer up an entrancing cut perfect for the after-hours.

Giammarco Orsini & Pancratio take us on the first trip to Avyon Part II.

The 27th of March will see one of this year’s most sought-after releases, as Paradise founder and Hot Creations head Jamie Jones teams up with long-term friend and Paradise resident Alan Fitzpatrick on Fairytale Frequency. The stunning two-tracker is the debut collaboration from two of electronic music’s most in-demand talents and, as expected, the end result is an outstanding offering that showcases both artists at their best.

The lead track Fairytale Frequency instantly showcases the bespoke sounds of both artists. From the get-go we witness the tell-tale signature of Jamie in the tribal drum patterns and whispering female vocal hooks, whilst Alan’s trademark club sound comes through in the pulsing, acid-twinged lead synth. Sundancing rounds things off. Soulful and soothing, the track is reminiscent of Hot Creation’s early days with it’s warming bassline and deep, emotive vocals, as gentle hats converge on light kicks to form a Baleric-inspired closing cut that tugs deeply on the heartstrings.

As a world-renowned DJ and producer, head of Hot Creations and founder of the global Paradise event series, Jamie Jones has etched out a legacy on electronic music that few can attest to. His personally curated Paradise series offers an international showcase of house and techno’s most recognisable artists. A long term Paradise resident, Alan Fitzpatrick has risen to the upper echelons of electronic music with a constant stream of outstanding releases on the likes of Drumcode and his very own We Are The Brave label.

We salute our 20th release by returning to where it all began: with one of SCDD’s co-conspirators and the inaugural release for the label, Mall Grab.

Strahinja Arbutina is fast becoming one of those artists you need to keep your eye on. With his first vinyl release on New York's industrial label Bank last year, he has no issue with making your ears bleed. Here he dons 4 tracks for Vivod and they're all brutal. First off is Way Ahead, straight up 4/4 industrial techno. A2 is the aptly named Croatian Households, more of a broken piece but still haunting in its rhythmic neg dynamics. B1 is Labud Loop, probably the most accessible track of the 4 as it's nearer to straight up techno, fans of Levon Vincent will like. Closing the ep is K stands For... with a slow burning break beat and vocals screaming incomprehensibly, awesome track, awesome ep. This is the hardest one for Vivod so far surely!

Kevin De Vries delivers big room drama on his 'Aratak' EP for Afterlife Recordings. Spirited synth lines, drum rolls, gripping moments of silence and weighty kick drums make the title track of De Vries' Afterlife debut formidable club gear. 'Sciamachy' is more subtle, centred around a euphoric arpeggio which spirals to its apex. Konstantin Sibold contributes a fine remix, toning down certain elements of 'Sciamachy' to let others shine. It completes an EP that brims with energy and dancefloor dynamism, a hugely exciting first full record for De Vries on Afterlife.

Jacob Groening’s debut EP for Kamai Music takes the listener on a trip
out into the wide open, a journey through wild sonic landscapes. The
title track - „Sulg“ (A1) sets the mood. A blurred picture rendered
through a minimalistic instrumentation of echoing saxophones, guitars
and piano. It oscillates around repetitive themes that range from oriental
sounds to reduced blues chords like in „Giom“ (A2).
The B-Side shifts away from this and shines its light on South American
influences as in „Sosa“ (B1) and the remix „Sulg“' (B2) by the Argentinian
producers„Kermesse“. Groening's approach to his productions, ranging
from down to midtempo, is characterised by its use of live recorded
instruments, well tempered minimalistic percussions and rich melodies
that take the listener on a voyage into the mind's very own comfort zone.

Originally released back in 2008 - Mosaic Classics is a beautiful selection of 5 tracks that were recorded in the late 90s by UK dub techno legend Steve O'Sullivan. Kling Klong celebrates its 10. birthday with the selections of their biggest selling tracks & remixes from the past

Alexander Kowalski makes his debut on Vince Watsons Bio Music imprint with an awesome EP.
Berlin resident Kowalski has been at the forefront of the German music scene for many years, playing all the big festivals and events across the world for over a decade. With his huge discography, most notibly for his releases on the seminal Kanzleramt label, as well as his own imprint Damage Music, Alex has generated a massive following and fans will not be disappointed with this new EP. His recent collaborations with fellow Kanzleramt resident Diego are nothing short of mindblowing and Alex has taken that form forward into this new EP, Green Eyed.

Opening with Falling Down and the title track Green Eyed, both are a perfect blend of old with a modern twist of new and this is as good as it gets from Kowalski, taking his signature sound and tweaking them for that Bio influence. The Garden of SEM takes a different approach, and slows things down into a deep atmospheric groove which takes you on a real trip from start to finish. We only Wish Alex had released more tracks like this as its shows his true talent in making deep beautiful music.
Finishing off the EP are 2 digital only bonus cuts of Falling Down Spiral and Green Eyed Escape. Falling Down takes a similiar route as Garden of SEM, but Green Eyed Escape is a 5min ambient piece which matches beautifully with the rest of the EP to complete what is a quite awesome release from this very talented producer. Exceptional stuff. Expect to hear this on dancefloor and radio imminently.

Burnski brings it on home with a new drop for his label Constant Black, showcasing that chunky, dynamic tech house sound that he's made his own for decades now. From the driving immersion of "Process" to the skeletal machine funk of "Systems" and on to the rabble-rousing jack of "Long Train", this is Burnski doing what Burnski does best. He switches stance for EP closer "Effect", which brings a beautiful dub techno variation to this classy 12" with the inimitable voice of Paul St. Hilaire ringing out amidst the metallic chords and subby bass.

After "III" Dusty Kid is back with a new album that is a trip and homage through and for his native land, Sardegna. "The Arsonist" anticipates this trip from its most dramatic part, touching upon an issue that haunts the island every summer: arsons. Setting itself apart from the contemporary techno music trends 'The Arsonist Part II" delves into 90's trance, reminiscent of legendary Jam&Spoon and rave parties. An intense explosion of pathos reminding us of the glorious Loveparade to describe a dangerous situation, a desperate attempt to save the Sardinian land. The pathos peaks with "Doa" when the fire leaves behind utter desperation and desolation, ashes and smoke. "Doa" is another stage in this new journey for Dusty Kid. It is an emotional and melancholic stop, drenched in the magic of the spaghetti western genre, honoring Morricone that has always been the artist's idol. The track is dedicated to the date of July 18, 1983,  when in the north ofSardegna the worst arson happened; here 9 people lost their lives and 15 reported terrible burns in the attempt to extinguish the fire. This has later become the European date to raise awareness against forest fires. The EP ends on the balearic notes of "Serpentara', little abandoned island in the south east of Sardegna, that represents a small batch of land that is untouched by men, their doings and their fires. 'Serpentara' recalls the likes of "Sueno Latino', the summer of love '88 and Ibiza, when ravers wanted to take a break from the hysteric acid house and needed softer and dreamier sounds. Dusty Kid is back with a masterpiece that cannot be missed, a perfect soundtrack to the Summer of 2015.

Jordan GCZ takes our minds raving along psychotropic wallpapered hallways of sound with this tight set of emotive belters for Rush Hour! The Juju & jordash / Magic Mountain High keyboard maestro leaves the noodles at home for this EP. After cooking up the hooky, Acid dipped title track, he turns the heat up high over three 90s style techno cuts. BIG TIP!

Fabrizio Maurizi makes his debut on Infuse this October as he delivers his latest EP ‘Jumping’, backed by a remix from Pierre Codarin.

A staple within the Italian house and techno scene for over a decade, Bologna’s Fabrizio Maurizi is a producer and DJ now known across the globe for his seamless blend of the two styles across his productions and DJ sets. One half of the duo Bassa Clan, with material via their self-titled imprint, and a member of the Bolo Represent collective, Maurizi’s recent releases include EPs via labels such Bodyparts, Memoria, Want?, Re.face, whilst playing sets worldwide for renowned institutions such as fabric, Robert Johnson, Womb and Cocoricò. Next up, October signals the arrival of a new name to his catalogue as he heads to FUSE sister imprint Infuse to deliver three fresh productions in the form of his ‘Jumping’ EP – accompanied by bubbling UK talent Pierre Codarin on remix duties.

The slick and paired back title track ‘Jumping’ opens proceedings as Maurizi fuses minimal soundscapes with more jazz-influenced notes and tones, whilst Pierre Codarin’s remix ups the energy levels as he introduces metallic drum licks, spiralling electronics and a snaking bassline to the mix. On the flip, ‘Night and Day’ harnesses a classy blend of dubby chords, slinking hats and echoed vocals, before closing the package via the off-kilter rhythms and loose, glitch-driven drums of hypnotic after-hours cut ‘Caravel’.

Josh Baker joins the roster of Ben Rau's Meta imprint this November with his 'Swift Eviction' EP, featuring four originals from the Mancunian artist.

UK based producer and DJ Josh Baker has been steadily honing his craft over the past few years, releasing material on the likes of Adult Only and Hedzup whilst playing at the likes of Parklife festival and The Warehouse Project on his home turf of Manchester as well as hosting his own You&Me events in the city and playing hotspots like Pikes Ibiza, Mint Club, Leeds and more across the globe. Here though we see him deliver his latest works for Ben Rau's fledgling Meta imprint, sub-label of Inkal and home to material from the label-founder himself both solo and collaboratively with Rhymos, and the label debut from Ray Mono.
Title-track 'Swift Eviction' leads with a skippy, swinging drums grooves, swirling synth textures, snaking subs and vacillating vocal murmurs before the focal stages introduce a choppy organ melody to carry the groove throughout. 'Box Of Beats' follows, laying focus on an arpeggio bass lead, tension building atmospherics and brooding low-pitched vocal lines while modulating percussion and a robust rhythmic drive keeps things dance floor oriented.

Opening the flip side is 'Everything Together' edging things into deeper territories with ethereal chords, organic drums and an acid-tinged bass lead at the forefront alongside spoken word vocal lines. 'Buuky' then shapes up the package, laying focus on crunchy off-kilter drums, resonant synth flutters and airy strings.

Using rolling percussion and a thumping kick, 'Primo' really is unbeatable! Luigi uses synth stabs that add character and finesse to this outstanding piece of music. Hypnotizek rounds off the EP being more upfront about where it's going. This cheeky, groove based track will warm up a dance floor quickly and get people in the mood for a real party!

"Apollo is a new concept project from me, spread across 3 EP's which throw back to the 90's melodic Techno and Progressive Trance sound. Although my roots are firmly in Breakbeat-Rave, I was also captivated by the big room sound of labels like R&S, Guerilla, Hard Hands and Sven Väth’s Harthouse from that same period of time.

My studio is full of old equipment that fuelled that original European sound so I quickly found myself focussing on a bunch of tracks that are heavily influenced by some really special music that often gets forgotten." - SC.

The 9th release on BLKMARKET MUSIC is the second follow up release by Taimur, Amo, and Ostara under their T.A.O. alias. TAO stands for the absolute principle underlying the universe, combining within itself the principles of yin and yang and signifying the way, or code of behavior, that is in harmony with the natural order.

On the A side, the opening A1 breakbeat track ‘Ready Set Flow’ keeps on building and building with Ostara on the vox. The track sets the tone for a party with sleaze and constant tease. Buffer 01 is the first part in a series of two ep´s for the Lirum Larum imprint from Berlin.
This one comes with a remix by Efdemin (one of the label operators) who fell in love with the modular sound of Buffered Multiple when he heard their track on the 20 Years of Pomelo compilation.

A DJ, producer and label boss at the top of his game, Sidney Charles continues to showcase his talents as a leading name within house music. With his own signature take on the genre so widely recognisable, yet a sound which also continues to evolve and develop, the German’s rich catalogue boasts recent releases via the likes of No Art, Moon Harbour, and Do Not Sleep, with his own Heavy House Society imprint welcoming material via the likes of Djebali, Okain, Sakro, Tripmastaz and Locklead to name just a few. Next up, late- January welcomes a label debut to kick start the New Year as he heads to FUSE’s LOCUS imprint to deliver his four-track ‘High Pressure’ EP.

Title track ‘High Pressure’ opens the EP in style as Charles introduces a slick blend of dubby pads, funky-fuelled basslines and infectious vocal hooks, whilst ‘There Is No Time’ takes things up a notch, introducing soaring leads, slinking drums and punchy kicks alongside an epic, warping breakdown crafted for peak- time dancefloors. On the flip, ‘Onda’ welcomes a dynamic drum workout as skittering percussion and shuffling hats lock horns atop of sweeping melodies, before closing the show via the commanding, murky low-ends and warping synths of final cut, ‘Jove Loy’.

2020 marked the five-year anniversary of Vivrant. To commemorate this special occasion, the Stockholm-based label introduced a new vinyl compilation series comprised of its favourite tracks from the years passed.

Entitled Annum, the 2x black and white LP features some of the label’s most memorable releases from 2015 to present time, including Jeremy Olander's 'Taiga, Khen's 'Dreamcatcher', Marino Canal's remix of 'Caravelle' and more.

Yulia Niko returns to Crosstown Rebels this June with Fatima. This exceptional release sees the Berlin based artist draw on influences from across the globe to create two mesmerising tracks, alongside a remix from Romanian minimal hero Priku feat. Dinu.

On the introspective Fatima, Yulia displays her values, producing a track that harnesses Asian inspired strings and a beautiful vocal allowing the mind to walk through the fields of a distant land. The Priku remix of Fatima featuring Dinu sees the original reworked with dubby chords and intricate percussion, creating a hypnotic piece for the dancefloor. Then Man From Ubud sees the style switch to a fluid rhythm, a natural warm energy is produced by organic keys, lively flute and charismatic vocals.

Yulia Niko’s original minimal techno sound has gained her admiration the world over, including the attention of heavyweights such as Damian Lazarus, Jamie Jones and Dennis Ferrer. Now residing in Berlin, she can often be found wowing audiences at her residency for the famous Watergate club. Her deeply complex Chicago and Detroit influenced style can be found on esteemed labels such as Get Physical Music, Hottrax, Rebellion and Subliminal. Also spearheading her imprints TochnoTechno and Libe Vibe, she continues to tour every continent, with Yulia’s unique creativity leading the way in her promising career.

From 1997 comes this underground beauty created by Mark Ambrose under his alias "Skymaster". This release has been on heavy rotation lately around the world so we are very happy to present you a fully remastered reissue of this essential classic.

Black Loops teams up with Seven Davis Jr. and Nikoss for a killer EP of deep soulful house tracks. Often times, spontaneity in the studio can lead to moments of pure creative flow, and if these tracks are any indicator, that was certainly the case here.

Both tracks feel fully realized, all elements blending together beautifully into two emotional burners. Seven Davis Jr. delivers another classic vocal performance, his warm tone perfectly complementing Black Loops' signature groove and Nikoss' piano playing.

Dreaming of summer sun, dancefloor euphoria, Gregor Tresher‘s new “Trident“ release on Cocoon Recordings gives us a time, taking us on an epic voyage into the light. There are three contrasting cuts on offer here, each carrying his distinctive sound signature but each designed to accompany a different part of the journey.

“Trident“ opens the set with a real sense of urgency, employing the kind of intro that draws party people to the dancefloor, like bees to honey. Smooth, seductive and hypnotic, it pulls at the heart strings as the tech house groove shifts effortlessly through the gears. The scattered melody at its heart rains down on us, drenching us in love and happiness - the perfect antidote for the travails of 2020.

“Pariah“ takes it deeper and faster as rave signals sound the arrival of a techno behemoth. The arrangement gradually expands into an intricate sonic tapestry through a perceptive use of fades and drops that expertly control the dance floor, while inducing a state of trance through its dervish-like intensity. Once again, additional layers of percussion appear at exactly the right moment to elevate proceedings to the next level.

Finally, Gregor works his magic on “Witchcraft“. Fluctuating between snaking rhythms and blissed-out breakdowns that repeatedly wash over us. The retro, arp-driven synth melodies entwine with the bassline to simulate a sense of weightlessness as the sounds expand and contract to great effect. Like “Trident“, “Witchcraft“ is a track where you can lose yourself and then suddenly find yourself again, in a crowd of like-minded, smiling faces. Hearing any cut from this EP on a thumping system will definitely be worth the wait.

LOCUS welcome rising UK talent Ray Mono as he debuts on the label with his four-track ‘Blowback’ EP.

A blossoming talent within the minimal house and deep tech sphere, Ray Mono is a producer and DJ with a serious amount of momentum behind him as we enter into the closing months of 2020. A favourite within Leeds’ underground house scene, the bubbling talent has emerged as a name of note within recent years releasing material via the likes of PIV Limited, META, Pleasure Zone and Do Not Sleep across the past 12 months alone whilst being tipped by Mixmag and Beatport amongst others. Next up, late October welcomes a new label to his growing catalogue as he makes his debut appearance on Enzo Siragusa and FUSE’s latest label project, LOCUS - delivering four dynamic cuts as he unveils his ‘Blowback’ EP.

Title track ‘Blowback’ showcases a deep and immersive journey as deep, rolling grooves effortlessly meet snaking acid lines, hazy synths and skipping hats, whilst ‘By Night’ welcomes driving basslines, punchy kicks and sweeping atmospherics. On the flip, the warping sonics and swinging drums of ‘Changes’ introduce a thick slice of energy to proceedings, before closing the show via the squelching sub-bass patterns, wandering electronics and laser-sharp drum licks of final cut ‘Copacetic’.

Closing the release, coming from South Africa, De Cave Man & TonicVolts completes this vinyl with an afro rhythm remix full of energy. A magical trip influenced by their roots.

Jos & Eli might seem unknown to many electronic music lovers but they have been releasing great music since 2013. They have been sending me music for a long time and I think we have spend about a year developing this first release on Noir Music, making sure it represented their debut on the label perfectly. When you hear the Adrenaline Hunt release you will notice that the 2 guys from Tel-Aviv have developed into a great production team over the years and these 3 tracks included here are not only cleverly crafted for the deeper dancefloors but can also be enjoyed on home stereo's. Opener 'Obscured Mind' features immense vocal-work by Jinadu and the song is wrapped in delicious and constantly intensified deephouse flavours whereas 'Initiation' has a more tribal, dubby and africanism edge to it. On the title track 'Adrenaline Hunt' which we build the EP aound things get a little more tech, darker and closer to what you would typically expect from Noir Music. Not only am I always excited to have new artists and talents on the label but I feel Jos & Eli bring a new dimension to Noir Music as well.
