Food Music welcomes A1 Bassline to the label to release his first LP - Technicality.
The album's title draws from the club night 'Technicality', a monthly Drum & Bass night at Herbal in East London, which is run by Chris Inperspective and continued the sound of early Reinforced and Metalheadz records as well as pushing new forward thinking music. The album is centred around growing up as a teenager discovering this jungle/drumfunk sound through his college friend Rahim (Lab Creation), where the likes on Fold, Ben UFO, Breakage would attend the club.
In addition to well received records on DirtyBird, Pets Recordings and his collaborative work with Leon Vynehall as Laszlo Dancehall, the album is a stamp on A1's sound and his influences from his teenage years to growing up and discovering House and Techno.

Album sampler 1 of 2 features 'Um' with Bodhi which bends the rules of drum programming and brings beautiful haunting vocals, his sought after remix of Jaydee's classic 'Plastic Dreams and previously unreleased solo track 'Steak Fingers' which is exclusive to this release.
3 of Shadow Child's 'Connected' collaboration album tracks get a makeover from Rimbaudian, MJ Cole and Bodhi.
Rising talent Rimbaudian reworks the only solo track from the project, 'Steak Fingers', and takes the original bumping stripped back groove on a more melodic journey with its stunning arpeggios and new string parts. The backbone of the original remains but be prepared to take a trip to a new stratosphere, with his stripped version which is included too.
Bodhi step up next to remix 'Gacid', twisting and turning the original acid patterns and grooves to make a special rework that gives a nod to early Detroit with new drum programming and pads. The Welsh duo bring the heat.
MJ Cole delivers what must be one of his finest remixes. 'Um' the collaboration with Bodhi, already offers a trip that flirts with Jungle, lo-fi and the hypnotic but MJ Cole brings his signature vibe to the table with new keys, groove and provides something that feels as if it belongs in the realms of his seminal hit 'Sincere'.

This project is much more than simply re-issuing the cream of NJOI's catalogue. As we enter 2022, we begin a year long journey with the duo, eventually unveiling 30 year old unreleased sought-after material for the first time ever, together with remixes from some of the todays finest electronic artists. Sticking to the galactic theme of his ‘Apollo’ series, ‘Neptune’ sees Shadow Child deliver a Techno-touched cut steeped in nostalgia. With classic-sounding synths wreaking havoc over a rumbling bassline, this track is a peak-time floor-thriller of planetary proportions.
Reimagining the 1997 offering of Belgian pair Hand’s Burn, Shadow Child turns ‘Good Shot’ into a track that resonates with his theme of worlds beyond.
