Neon is not a common name for italian post punk lovers. Born in Florence, the cradle of peninsula's wave, they were probably the first important post punk gothic band in our country and they are still nowadays one of the most active band in 80's Italian new wave time, still marking Italian rock history. The band, which was born first as a duo at the end of the 70's in Florence's undeground culture, soon stands out for its KRAFTWERK and new wave icons' synth, which made their style a unique 80's cultural dream's specimen, together with newromantic and post punk tought of bands like JOY DIVISION, ULTRAVOX and HUMAN LEAGUE. In 1980, the band got off to an electronic start with the single Information of death, and later, through several line up changes, it achieves to synthetize a mix of obsessive electro sounds, obscure athmospheres and quite original pop melodies which take shapes in later works like Tapes of darkness (1981), Obsession (1982), My blues is you (1983), Dark age (1984); in 1985 Rituals sanctioned Neon as the best Italian new wave band of that year. Dark Entries is proud to release the sophomore EP from BEZIER entitled Telomeres. Bézier is the moniker of local SF musician ROBERT YANG, who also is part of the illustrious HONEY SOUNDSYSTEM crew. Telomeres is the follow up to Bézier's debut EP Ensconced, released in 2013. The title relates to themes of time, science, analytics and procedures. Bézier integrates the refrains of Spanish new wave and Italo disco with the attitude and aggression of underground styles like synth-punk and industrial. These six tracks were written, produced and mixed by Bézier at his home studio in San Francisco between 2014 and 2015, and feature the debut of his own vocals. All songs have been mixed by Mark Pistel (of Meat Beat Manifesto fame) at Room 5, San Francisco and EQed for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios. The vinyl comes housed in a jacket featuring an illustration by in-house designer Eloise Leigh riffing on early 80s computer graphics. The matted sleeve is meant to resemble the side panels of early computing instruments like Macintoshes or the Commodore 64. Each LP includes a postcard with a photograph of actual telomeres captured by a microscope camera by the Blackburn Lab at UCSF. Telomeres' are life's building blocks, changing the lengths of chromosomes to determine lifespan. This music is an investigation of a future in which time elongates as well as contracts.

First introduced to the modern italo-disco universe by Flemming Dalum (who else) in 2011, the rare-beyond-rare original 7" by Katia remains a holy grail for all but the most obsessive and/or bankrolled collectors. But why should they have all the fun Mothball Record is proud to present this official and absolutely faithful repress, with painstakingly restored audio and sleeve by Hysteric and his crack team of italo specialists. The song itself was the final interpretation of "Mistery Woman", a theme returned to several times by the authors Lupo and De Peppo. However this one is really set apart by the unique and unforgettable vocal performance by Katia, aged just 17 at the time of this record. As well as the original Vocal and Instrumental versions, a new extended edit has been made by Hysteric for contemporary DJs wishing to keep the flame burning a little longer.

Limited edition of 100 numbered copies on red vinyl of the remastered reissue of the deep and rather melancholic Italo-Disco classic from Dharma released in 1982 on System Music by Pulga and Ninzatti (KANO). The record comes with the same labels of the original release and for the 1st time with full picture disco sleeve. 2015 officially licensed from S. Pulga - S.I.A.E. sticker on cover.

Highlights, the band's first collection of new material since their critically-lauded debut, Mixed Emotions, in 2012, began in a basement in Pittsburgh and ended in a church in Brooklyn. It trades world music sounds for a more alive, realized approach, the result of Emm and Cohen knowing they wanted to break from their 'two guys, one screen' writing style.

Clay Pedrini is a musician and singer from Milan. He released his only single, 'New Dream', in 1984 on Sensation Records. Despite his limited output, Pedrini proved himself to be a shining star of the Italo scene. Unfortunately, his career was cut short by a severe case of whiplash, but his fusion of analog keyboards and electronic trickery has stood the test of time

Official limited reissue of the mega-rare Blow Up records release of the Italo masterpiece Pink Footpath by Loui$. Originally released in 1985, this gem has become one of the most highly sought after Italo Disco tracks around. On the A side is Magic Dance which is good, but it's the instrumental version of the track Pink Footpath that really gets the disco DJs drooling. With its killer analogue b-line, dreamy synths and Balearic guitar riffs, it's easy to see why it became such an anthem at the early Ibiza parties as well as a late night favourite in Chicago and New York.

I had just opened "Click Records", my record label in the center of Milan, a short walk from CBS. Was in the '80s and in my office there was a constant coming and going of artists; many young talents at the first experience, others already well under way and some who later became famous as Pino Mango and Eros Ramazzotti - with which I composed the song "A friend" who later won St. Vincent festival catapulting him to the Sanremo Festival.

One day he appeared to me a certain Luigi Fregapane (aka Louis) with a demo by himself produced in Turin. I listened to the track several times, and with a smile him know that I OK for that song sketched by hand.

The voice of Louis was amazing, and his dowry of guitarist eclectic and very personal was evident . I phoned Alberto Radius and booked a few days of studio to produce the track we later called "Magic Dance". Once the A side was done , I personally decided to work on a remix to which I gave the name "Pink Footphat" after being delighted observing an infinity of pink flowers covering like a carpet the street I was walking through in Milan.

This record is equally amazing, with a spectacular drumbeat and very nicely layered synth, parallel to "Stop" in brilliance and sequence, but a bit simpler and slightly shorter. Its a shame that this track is only 4:30 long and that the duo released only a handful of italo-disco gems altogether under the aliases of BWH, Blackway and Mr Master.

Straight from the mighty vault of Mitchbal and Chicago Connection Records, Still Music is more than proud to announce the release of 'Jack The House' - an unreleased 12' from Mitchbal & Larry Williams, featuring a never heard before remix by Frankie Knuckles.

One of Larry Heard's most under-rated albums finally remastered and available as full vinyl release for the first time! Known for his classic early house releases Larry Heard's productions always hinted at deepest outer space, but his 1996 Alien album was his first actual science-fiction record. It's almost as polished as the most mainstream dance production, but just as sublime as any Detroit producer. Heard's house roots often show themselves, while the chords and shimmering production make this an album almost on par with Heard's mid-'80s peak. The project was a recording & sound-development experiment that was mostly constructed around a Korg O1/W workstation keyboard that was left at Larry's studio to check out by Victor 'melodious myles' Houston along with some of the staples of his studio, including the Roland d550 and Oberheim Matrix 1000. Mr Fingers magic touch can be heard all over the album, and this showcases the incredible musical talents of the man, who's name by now cant be left out from any hall of fame when you're talking music innovators from the last century! Recommended!

They must kill humans so they can eat brains in an attempt to satisfy their never ending hunger and when they have finished eating they enjoy dancing to sounds played by their favourite local Italo Disco DJ. Italo champ Fred Ventura hits again with an action packed EP. On the A side two new versions of the italo evergreen 'When I Let You Down' remixed by two notorious vets: Flemming Dalum and Savino. The flipside is a time travel through the late 80's in a wide range of synth pop, avant-garde electro and last but not least an unreleased version of the house track No Way Out: all from the vaults of the talented mister Ventura. From the fuego department of Cómemia comes 'De La Cabeza' ('Off Your Head'). 'Que fuego' they say in Buenos Aires when a particular style is particularly flamboyant. Be it an evening gown, a staggering dancing step, a good phrase or a precious little make-up smear. All these things are part of the wondrous world of DJs Pareja. One portrait shot of them and we all want to repeat the word boy (or better: BOY) ad infinitum. Dedicated extroverts that they are, happily heading over the top is just natural for them. Once in a while they open the gates to their lavish spheres when hosting Fun Fun nights in Buenos Aires, but as DJs they´ve seen so many others. Being major socialites from the very beginning of the Cómemian Society their label debut was already in 2009 on a split 12', together with Matias Aguayo. But what is happening here and now 'The whole idea of this EP is being off your head in another world, a dark, fantastic and unreal world', they tell us about these four unsettling exaltations, probably their most eminently mind sucking works to date. Even though graced by the absence of anything picturesque these pieces unfold themselves as pretty rampant nightlife fantasies. Just like the title track: A straight forward beat is mocking a solid ground while all of a sudden kinetics gloriously start to fail. What´s that fog horn What are these zig zag tones Pleasure steamer gets in troubled waters. Voices, vapor, vertigo. Then your favourite further things start to happen. 'Ladren Ladren' ('Bark Bark') has the aroma of melting bronze. Doggy style Chicago and Acid Rock coalescing in one tall bastard of a statue ready to get vandalized. A lunatic Latin Techno jam called 'No Paren' tells you not to stop. It´s more like: 'Little drummer boy, look how you´ve grown - good Lord, to quite an immensity.' Finally 'Saxo Temor' ('Sax Fear').It´s the grande finale in terms of grandeurishly destilling things. The sax is a dizzy peak-no-peak thing (or as DJs Pareja say: Twin Peaks); the perfect beat also does some historical worshipping; the cowbell is an instrument hanging round our necks.

Magnus International's releases are few and far between. With his solo debut 12"out in 2006 and one in 2009 we can easily classify him as our least prolific(lazy) family member. However, Magnus has that rare gift for melody and drama... the so called Magnus factor. So whenever he decides to lay his knowledge upon you, lend him an ear. Debuting on Full Pupp as part of "Kalle, Magnus & Daniel" together with Kalle Risan SandÂs and Blackbelt Andersen, Magnus helped lay the foundations to what we all know as nu disco/space disco/cosmic disco/scando disco etc.(insert your own silly take on it here).

While not quite as highly feted as his compatriot Danny Wolfers, Rick Van Breugel challenges him when it comes to the sheer amount of aliases and releases he's had over the years since he surfaced on the Rotterdam scene back in 2002. Having adopted the pun worthy Electrick Dragon alias back in 2010 with a release for David Vunk's Moustache label, Van Breugel returns to the name with this thrilling release for the Cyber Dance label. Hardly the most active of imprints, when Cyber Dance do release something it's because it's Italo disco worthy of your attention - the three tracks on Soon As The Stars ensure the status quo remains. Tough and rough, "Night With You" finds room amidst the flexed drums and thick arpeggiated groove to drop some romantic Italo vibes for the lover out there, while the title track could only have come from the Lowlands. Outer galactic synth work abounds throughout, the key lines spiral in and out of focus with hypnotic intent while the subtle yet intricate percussion swims in tape saturation. Some sort of odd laser FX on the two adds that extra degree of individuality to the gleefully effervescent exercise in constantly building joy that is the final track "A Space Connection".

Again it´s true. Domesticity is none of a Cómemian´s foremost virtues. Modesty Also not. Take Alejandro Paz: Left Santiago, went to Spain, went to Scotland, came to Cologne. Was a stranger, showed his facets (listen to his - Ladrones' mix on Cómeme Radio) and was heartily embraced. But then listen to "New Guy In Town'. This fine staccato jackness doesn´t sound much like settlement, does it The girl chorus seems to be interested though. In handclaps and cowbells and all these endorphin-raising activities, to say the least. But let´s not get sloppy with such terms.

Killer release by Freewency dropping some genuine disco funk boogie tracks! The last 12 months have seen producer Benny Badge feature on Inkswel's Ginseng Root Ep and Future Time's Vibe 2 compilation with analogue funk comrade Tom Noble. Now he's back on Voyeurhythm with Freewency's latest contribution to the label's. Timeless release and possibly the best Voyeurythm so far! Essential for everyone into Tom Noble, Metro Area and everything inbetween.
