The Chicago house master aka Mr Mike Dunn returns to moreaboutmusic with some fresh new material taken from his forthcoming album due in 2017.

'FT', which Sean describes as 'electronic, psychedelic soul', sees him collaborate with an extraordinarily diverse range of artists, spanning some of the most significant underground musical icons of the past 40 years. This stellar collection of artists includes:- Yoko Ono, avant garde musician, conceptual artist and one of the most controversial female artists of all time, Bootsy Collins, widely regarded as one of the finest Funk/R'n'B bass players in the world, Dave Ball, co-founder of Soft Cell, notorious UK synth pioneers with the uniquely sleazy electric soul sound, Fred Schneider from the manic, bizarre and highly innovative US new-wave group B-52's and Alan Vega, vocalist of the essential and groundbreaking New York duo Suicide. A full list of collaborating artists is below.Hifi Sean is the songwriter, DJ and producer Sean Dickson. He is most famously known as front man of the Scottish band The Soup Dragons, responsible for a series of huge hit singles, 'I'm Free', 'Divine Thing', and 'Mother Universe'. Dickson was also the main creative force behind the follow-up project The High Fidelity, a much more artful and intimate project, critically acclaimed for the releases 'Demonstration' and 'The Omnichord Album' . Those albums included two very rare musical collaborations between Dickson and legendary Radio DJ John Peel and also the late Mickey Finn (one half of 70's musical giants T-Rex). In some ways, this was the germination of an idea that would provide the conceptual foundation behind 'FT Sean underwent a total musical reinvention at the turn of the millennium, evolving and transforming his creative energies from a guitar playing band front-man to a DJ. He began playing house, disco and electro in Glasgow's burgeoning and innovative club scene, before relocating to London in 2006 where he began to become a staple figure at deep house underground and afterhours clubs.As the artist Hifi Sean he is now a highly respected DJ and producer, having held residencies at Fire, Ministry of Sound, Shoreditch House and Savage Disco, as well as playing regular international shows in Europe and the USA.In creating 'FT', Sean has carefully fused elements from his past and present musical lives into something unique and joyous:The album is a journey through psychedelic dance rhythms, and electronic and soulful moods, drawing from elements of Disco, Chicago house, Detroit techno, and London underground party roots. 'FT' is at once an homage to the foundations of his musical heart and a determined attempt to forge something new and vital from the sounds that have fuelled his life in music. It is also partly an autobiography in audio of the past 15 years of his life observing dancefloors, and growing as a producer.The album guides the listener from soulful euphoria to Balearic bliss, new wave punk-house to conceptual cosmic voyage, ending with the crescendo of the full-on orchestral movement 'A Kiss Before Dying' with Alan Vega from Suicide. 'FT' carefully underlines the gifts of each of its vocalists, a work which is the instinctive pulse of multiple dances floor tempered and crafted by the nuanced heart and head of the songwriters craft:Calling upon his 25 years of music business experience and connections, Sean worked hard to pull together a collection of quite possibly one of the most impressive range of collaborations witnessed on a single release in recent memory. These transatlantic recordings were made possible through collaborations recorded in London, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Cincinnati, Washington, Glasgow and Toronto. Sean says of the project: I think of this album as a curated gallery of all my favourite sounds and loves, and when moulded together, the record paints a unique and personal picture of my life experience.'

'Sidetracking - Part 1: Prologue' is the first vinyl taste of Jona's de- but album project for Alex Niggemann's forward-thinking AEON la-bel. The musical puzzle will be completed in February 2016 with the release of a second vinyl instalment, featuring 6 more original tracks, and the full 10-track album on CD format. Created over the course of two highly creative years, the concept for 'Sidetracking' was for Jona to invite some of his musician and producer friends to collaborate with him in the studio and compli- ment his album's solo productions. This impressive coming together (to be fully revealed over the coming months) features Varoslav (Rue de Plaisance, Paris), Usio (Studio Barnhus), David K (Cocoon), Bo- livian percussionist Daniel Aguilar, Italian pianist Giovanni Verga, and Edinburgh-based producer The Reverse Engineer. Driven by his desire to explore new sound perspectives and ideas, Jona has carefully forged his career path by consistently creating exciting and forward-thinking music. His previous label outings: 'Traffic' on 'Lost Tapes Volume 1' (AEON010) and 'Gemini EP' (AE- ON016) have seen him fine-tune his own unique sound. By incor- porating a wide range of styles into his tracks, Jona strives to break down unnecessary boundaries and explores new ideas and ways to ignite that hallowed dancefloor flame. It is therefore no wonder that his collaborative creations for 'Sidetracking' have yielded such stimulating aural delights. Fittingly, the album prologue opens with a track whose style is heav- ily influenced by the jazz music that Jona was so in love with dur- ing his formative years. Calling on the somewhat mysterious Usio (whose 'Kuwa Huru' LP on Studio Barnhus should be checked by everyone) to join him in a studio jam, has resulted in 'The Chase', an utterly compelling afro-beat influenced percussive groove, topped with swirling funk-fuelled stabs and strings, mesmerising chiming piano, and a large helping of pure, hip-swinging goodness. Taking 'The Chase' on an entirely different and yet perfectly com- plimentary twisted trip, AEON family members Simone Sinatti and Marco Paladin (aka Speaking Minds) conjure up a futuristic technoid disco demon that is all about throbbing energy, sweat, darkness and hissing smoke machines - perfect ingredients for an unforget- table strobelight serenade. Changing the mood entirely and cutting the tempo to a dublicious skank, 'Transmission Breakdown' sees Jona's experimental creative juices in full flow, as he teams up with Edinburgh-based digital com- poser and sound artist Dave House (aka The Reverse Engineer) for a delightfully hazy downtempo jam. Both as an artist and a DJ, Manchester's Marcus Intalex has been at the forefront of soulful, musical drum & bass for what seems like forever. A passion for techno has always run deeply through his music and under his Trevino moniker he is also a powerful creative force (check his recent 'Front' album to get the full picture). Here, he takes 'Transmission Breakdown' on a magical excursion, filled with subtle, hypnotic, evolving energy, anchored with an irresistible pul- sating bassline throb - a perfectly synergetic interpretation to round off Jona's 'Sidetracking' album prologue in style.

With a recent sell-out self-release from Telfort and a highly anticipated debut from Hi and Saberhägen on Huntleys + Palmers, the cast of this debut 12' sampler is as strong as Plutonian steel! Newcomer Philip Budny begins our journey with a crystalline aural interpretation of the waterfalls of Bali, ahead of Hi and Sabes' rhythmic raga. On the flipside is a meditative offering from Telfort, reminiscent of a smoky hangover after a rave in the dungeons of Kinshasa, before chief commanding officer Percy Main's finale zooms 50 years into Sheffield's funktopian future with a bumpy dancefloor robo-killer.

After kicking off with a delightfully classy deep house EP from Chicago's Strong Souls, D3 Elements - the label run by the same person as Vibes And Pepper Records - offers up its second EP, The Black 3 EP.
This one comes from another forgotten Chicago producer who shouldn't have ever been forgotten. His name is Brian Harden and he hasn't released anything since 2005. Before then he was a regular on the influential Moods & Grooves label, as well as Relief and and was also a part of the Strictly Jaz Unit crew and Nite Life collective.
First up, 'Qunu' is a ping ponging affair with spritely drums and springy percussion that dance about like a cat on a hot tin roof. Golden pads and a hooky melody phrases bring warmth and colour and it's a refreshingly odd combination. A2 'Days of Days' is a more cerebral and deep affair with wholly lush chords, gentle ticking percussion than pans around the airwaves and a squelchy bassline scurrying about down below. Light and airy at the same time as being married to a compelling groove, it's a master class in genuinely musical house.
Finally, 'Chicago to Detroit' takes up the whole of the flip side. This one is a mix between the percussive drive of the first and the deeper grooves of the second: chords are woozy, drum hits are kinetic and the bulbous bassline sounds pleasingly drunk as it rides up and down of its own accord.
Once again D3 has unearthed some fantastic deep house sounds from a lesser-known producer that everyone should really know about.

Having dabbled with lower tempos of house and techno in recent years on his Exit Records imprint and Convex Industries, dBridge's
4/4 alter ego 'Vevit' presents his debut EP for Electric Minds in the form of the 'Nudge EP' - where two varied cuts display his tactful
use of restraint and release for club tools which, if put in the right hands, can alter the state of play on the dancefloor.
The EP's lead offering 'Nudge' explores the dubbier regions of techno with vocal sample snippets prominent throughout that are
coupled with boisterous kick drums that give the track ample space to breathe. His focus on clinical drum programming and delayed
chords are skilfully here as they patiently ebb and flow throughout the entirety of the track's dramatic six-minute duration. On the b-
side he showcases his slightly more up-tempo sensibilities with quietly electrifying number 'The Act' which sees him turn up the
accomplished Electric Minds debut.

A key artist in the shaping of electronic music, Dan Curtin has explored many styles in his career and now he has come full circle. The hardware repopulates the studio, bringing with it the inventive, organic techno sound he is most fondly known for, this time with a modern twist. These tracks take you to the heart of the man and are some of his best work.

French Kitchen is a label of electronic music and intelligent sounds recipes based in Paris. It was born in 2012 by the chief's hands of the music duo SuCré SaLé and their cocobeach friends. How to cook. A fashionable sweet and salty Techno recipe: Take a good soft Kick and simmer in a light reverb effect. Add Hight Hat, crashes and percussions. Sprinkle a good pinch of Balkanique groove. Melt a good motivating base and add it to the mixture. Add the nappees, A few vocals freshly recorded and two returns. Cover in breadcrumbs and let it cook as long as a Rakia.

Transmitting straight from the 10th floor of a beat-down Rotterdam skyscraper is Studio Barnhus debutant Mark Fader. When he's not analyzing the bird life outside his studio window or contemplating matters of love, death and office management, Fader enjoys churning out true school electro cuts with a modern edge and some extra fonk.
