EVOL shut the game down with Ideal Acid - a, KILLER 20 minute rinse thru 303 acid cherries pitted and sequenced, tweak for tweak, into the wildest acid track ever made. No hype, this record is the maddest belter in EVOL's extensive catalogue, taking their obsession with Roland's squelchy grey box to an ultimate, logical conclusion that leaves dancefloors turned utterly inside out and begging for track ID's.
Produced in Barcelona and further product tested between Stockholm and Manchester, iDEAL 303 is the kind of idea that has been floated in raves, smoking areas and afterparties for the past 20 years but has never been executed with such precise method and inexorable effect, until now.
Taking way too many classics to mention, EVOL modulates their mutual variable, the Roland TB-303 Bass Line, in a cascade of liquified riffs that last anywhere between 1 beat and a few bars
before shifting to the next pattern, and so forth. The cumulative effect of elastic undulation is mind-bending and body-jacking in the extreme, yet uncompromisingly crafted at the immediate
service of the rave.

Hell Yeah’s summer will be all about Passages, a brand new and fantastic album from Quiroga that shows off his unique take on the Neapolitan sound. It is a soothing mix of real musicianship, laid back funk, soul and jazz stylings that wash over you, fill your heart with warmth and take you to a faraway beach where all your worries melt into the ether.

It is 11 years since Walter Del Vecchio’s last album on Cactus Island Recordings and since then he has put out a steady stream of sublime EPs on the likes of his own Really Swing as well as, of course, Hell Yeah. Label boss Marco calls him “a delicate musician” and it’s true that his deft sound is filled with beauty and detail.

A lot of attention is currently on his native Naples scene, but Quiroga doesn’t fit with the usual narrative thanks to his left of centre take on the breezy Mediterranean sounds of the city. This new album features six brand new cuts as well as six of his favourites that have previously been put out Really Swing, and is a fantastic showcase of his sound, with two of the tracks already getting big support from Italian ensemble 291out.

Gentle groove undulations and refrained vocal euphoria define opener Got Your Love, while fat bass twangs and nodding keys light up the jazzy-soul-funk fusion that is Martinica Feelings. Things get even more horizontal and romantic on The Zoist, with its steamy female coos and delicate keys, and North Hollywood Witches is a glorious bit of slow motion boogie with squelching bass and effervescing keys.

Elsewhere there are the lazy tumbles of Non Dire Notte, which is awash with acid gurgles, while glistening dreamscapes like Citto Di Mare shuffle on lush live drums and new age melodies. There are hippie vibes on Luzhin Defence which evokes sun beams breaking through the clouds, then Chiaia Sunset will melt your heart with its diffuse keys and rippling rhythms and ambient closer Bava casts you adrift into the clouds.

With many other gems along the way, this a perfect summer album that will temporarily rid you of whatever problems you may have.

Antique Fragments EP is the third release of our Kommuna Tapes imprint. The A side starts with a quirky fast-paced track created by a mysterious producer named Schematix in 1997. Thinktank, an electro/breakbeat act who signed his first and unique EP only a few years later in 2000, takes us on a punchy yet dreamy techno journey. On the flip side, after Schematix undusted his hardware to extract the stems for the occasion, wizard Sergio Moreira mastered the challenge of creating a slower and deeper version of the track, while upcoming Madrid talent Javier Moreno closes the release with a bouncy acid burner.

Kevin Murning is a musician, producer and DJ from Cape Town, South Africa. He describes his music as fake jazz, probably because he dropped out of jazz school. At 23 years old, Kevin's music is youthful yet precise and his debut EP offers an intriguing cross-section into his varied musical experience to date. The release comes out via Cape Town based imprint, Quit Safari, home to some of SA's most exciting producers.

Kevin's debut comes in the form of a 5-track EP called Mode's Arp. Comprised of 3 originals and 2 remixes, the release serves as a dual functional one with tracks for home and club use. Taking 2 years to fully complete, Mode's Arp is a wonderfully considered body of work and speaks volumes about Kevin's talent and his ability to create music that is beautiful and banging. Both Kevin and Quit Safari label head, Zanasi Wifi, are on remix duty for the EP, taking the originals and recontextualising them into high octane percussive workouts.

& Co. started out as a small group of friends who surfed and skateboarded together. As they hung out in Venice and shared their interests and ideas about music, sounds started to take shape. What started off with no intentions of being anything serious began to develop, inspiring music composer Alberto Bof, music advisor Paul T. and music coordinator Alex Olson to think about avenues of release.

Inspired by a Seigen Ono record put out for Comme Des Garcons in 1988 Olson got the idea to release the trio's project under his brand Bianca Chandon. This limited 12” has embodied the spirit of the creators and the motivation of the brand to become Bianca's first record release.

Two years after his last outing on Get Physical, Roland Leesker returns to the label of which he is Managing Director with a brilliant new track that comes with a remix from Cardopusher. Leesker has only put out a select few releases over the last 15 years-both solo and as DJ Carrera and R&R with none other than Ricardo Villalobos-but he has a truly fully formed sound. This tune has been doing serious damage in the clubs for a while now and makes you wonder why Leesker doesn't release more! Entitled 'Thunderstorm' it is seven minutes plus of moody and dramatic tech with heavy synth clouds, whining machines and turbulent drums all whipping up a storm. Manic keys and heavy chords come in and out as fizzing textures all make it a real synapse firing affair that is designed to arrest the attention of huge crowds, and it sure will do that. Venezuelan born Cardopusher has a diverse and experimental sound that takes him from techno to electro to acid to rave to house on labels like Super Rhythm Trax, Zone and BNR. Here he masterfully cooks up another frenzied track with spraying acid, heavy, marching and industrial drums and a real sense of rave energy that will dazzle as much as delight in any set. Finally, Leesker offers up his own 'Dschinn mix' providing even more raw energy. Angry drum rolls, stomping kicks and huge hi hats all piled up and force you onto action. It's a superbly metallic, in your face track to wake up a crowd in the late night hours. With this EP, Get Physical's sensational 2017 keeps on getting better.

'After The Rain' by label regulars The He-Men opens with the soothing patter of raindrops, a hypnotic acid line rising from the deluge to morph into a moody house ride drenched in its own outbursts of spectral sound.

In the making of her first Studio Barnhus record, veteran dj and world-travelling introvert Bella Boo divided time between bedroom studios in Ladbroke Grove and Hornstull, where she would hook up a dusty old Tanzbär, press record and sing straight into the laptop microphone over fuzzy r&b harmonics and snappy analog drums. The result is a collection of fascinating and fascinatingly groovy tracks, shuffling about with grace and vigour in the secret place where warm club music and introspective audio diaries meet to mingle.

2018 starts w/ Wolfram. Maxi Single PP026 features 'Automatic Dub". Powerful Italo Disco that will heat up any given Dancefloor in no time. AcidWorx kicks off their artist series with this lovely 3-tracker produced by Harold De Kinderen, and Stefan Robbers. The Dutch duo known to the world as Acid Junkies really need no introduction. They have been amongst top producers of ACID since 1992 when they first launched the acid classic track "Sector 9" on the Djax-Up-Beats label, followed by their successful album "Paranoid Experience" two years later.

Their newest release "Time Kills" on AcidWorx ranges from old skool acid bleeps to high tech electro with a scent of industrial and EBM-Body music. A super funky acid remix of the track "Drifters" by SERi from Japan is also included. Limited edition first press on transparent 12".

Opening cut 'Acido' setting the tone perfectly via murky broken rhythms and glitched out bass hits before the latter stages introduce a squelching 303 lead which tails out the rest of the record. 'Nylo' follows and draws on an earth shattering sub bass lead, sparse percussive shots and a subtly bubbling synth stabs.


Opening the flip is 'What' which takes a more robust approach rhythmically with a weighty kick drum, shuffling congas and choppy hats lying at the forefront while spiralling bass hits and vocal chops meander around them. Lastly the package is closed with 'Nasty', an intricately programmed energy fuelled workout featuring reversed bass swells, jazz tinged Rhodes melodies and crunchy distorted drums.

Continuing on from Vol 1's theme of established artists working in disguise, 'Music First Vol 2' delivers another sonic assault with this absolute rollercoaster ride of a record. The mysterious Scorpio T opens the EP with 'Neptune Rising', a squelching acid-bass boomer that can simultaneously spiritually elevate and physically devastate any dancefloor. Rounding off Side A it's followed by Scandalous Arthur's 'Acid In My Mind', a lo-fi tape-hissed jacking beast of a banger that sounds like it's genuinely been brewing in a vat of highly toxic acid for at least 25 years and guaranteed to melt your mind. On the flipside comes JaX DaX returning from Vol 1 with the low-frequency moody slo-mo electro workout 'Fucking Computer' that oozes bad attitude and booty-shaking basslines in equal abundance. Here To Hell is an Australian label project conceived by The Presets' Kim Moyes, and Revolver resident DJ Mike Callander. This, the second release on the label is their first original work as Zero Percent.

After dragging Aussie rockers The Drones onto the dancefloor with HTH001, the Here To Hell label bosses show us a little more of what they're all about. Volumes is raw and tough, focused on groove and aimed squarely at late night dancefloor hypnosis.

Named after one of their early live performances, this first Zero Percent outing demonstrates the direct link between their live shows and studio sessions. With Kim and Mike living in different Aussie cities, their production sessions are few and far between. Often these long weekend jams coincide with the hangovers and sleep deprivation that come with gigging in each other's cities.

From all of these sessions across the last few years, Volumes stood out as their first work that satisfied the NO BRAINER test... that is, if you don't need to explain it, then the job is done and the dancefloor can fully consume it.

On the flip Kim and Mike invited The Mole to deliver his own version of dancefloor hypnosis, and they were most satisfied that he also delivered a fantastic NO BRAINER that now appears in all of their DJ sets.

For Alan Oldham, artistic expression is a way of life, taking multiple forms and medi-ums throughout his lifetime. Before he was ever known as DJ T-1000, he was a published car-toon artist and radio DJ in Detroit writing press releases for Underground Resistance to get by. One day, Underground Resistance was in need of a last minute DJ for their tour in Aus-tralia, and a door flew open for Alan Oldham. With passport in hand he departed on his jour-ney as a DJ, which little did he know would eventually span continents. Influenced by every-thing around him, his work has dynamically changed and evolved along with his life. Currently as an international DJ living in Berlin, his latest creation is the ACIDSPACE EP, released by Elypsia Records under the DetroitRocketScience name. The traveler himself takes us on an intergalactic adventure, beginning with ACIDSPACE (8:48). With a steady beat and a unique blend of serene space sounds, this jam excites the imagination for the journey to come. It is followed by ROCKET TO BERLIN (7:20), a subtle and intricate mix that entices one to enter the unknown. VESTA SYSTEM (6:22) finishes the EP off on a note that leaves lis-teners grooving and enjoying the ride. Creativity and sweet sounds are what it's all about for Alan Oldham. With his recent musical shift to mellower, sci-fi inspired jams, he continues to let listeners see for themselves.

97 debut album from renowned skateboard rider Guerrero takes off on a fusionistic ride of acid jazz, trip hop, rock and downtempo groove.

This is one of the lesser known titles by Tommy Guerrero, instead of the more indie Rock or Post/Experimental-Rock sounds that made "A little Bit of Something" or "Hoy Yen Ass'n", such accomplished albums have largely been abandoned, in favour of something a little more subtle, studied and more akin to his Puerto Rican roots.
This is, by and large, a vastly stripped back affair compared to his later albums, with the acoustic guitar featuring prominently in virtually all the songs, with subtlety, and refinement, this feels like a improvised session between him and his group of musician friends that has been beautifully recorded and keep for prosperity. This is (apart from a couple of vocal tracks) a most instrumental album, with a super-laid back feel, that mixes simply devised melodies with hints of Blues/Funk, yet the prominence of a strong Cuban/Latin artistic approach run strong throughout the album.

Highly recommended.

Being deeply connected to the funk/soul & disco era back in the 60' / 70's or early 80's, the era of studio 54 & the times of the discoball & hedonistic nights without limits is an evidence that prooves the existance of some kind of legacy within Kolja's family. Just because already Kolja's father has been one of the very early techno music pioneers being known & popular in the underground music
scene as he was part of the technoproject called AFROTRANCE" with vinyl releases more than 20 years ago on worldwide respected labels like R&S Records or Sven Väths Harthouse back in 1993/94 (!) with these facts in mind it is no wonder or miracle that B00M JACK RECORDS is proudly presenting the result of Kolja's DNA Code as he - more than 2 decades after daddy's artist days - steps into his fathers footprints by delivering the LIBIDO EXPRESS EP for the long awaited launch of BOOM JACK RECORDS. On the A Side one gets caught by the records title track LiBiDO EXPRESS - which actually is a co-production by Kolja Gerstenberg & his partner-in-crime, Yannic Krauß. As a duo they are working under their moniker F.K.K. This tune is not wasting any time as it immediately takes you by the hand, dragging you straight to the dancfloor, leaving no chance to escape. It's simple but perfectly used ingrediences like the strength of a pumpin kickdrum, the raw and mean bassline plus its beanfield'esque kinda vocal samples doing a propper job untill a well hidden Monster of a 303 acid sequence suddenly emerges out of nowhere to drill holes even through thick concrete walls! This is a truly stunning tune guys that will make loads of people go nuts on the floors around the world. the flip side delivers two extraordinary convincing Space-Disco-House tunes that are playing in a totally different league. But this league is Kolja Gerstenberg deepest love when it comes to music. listening to "Diggin Digger" & "Let it Whip" automatically reminds of house music's hall of fame members like Kevin Saunderson, Derrick May or Juan Atkins. Quite weird though - because they wrote history with their work, founding a never heard before kind of sound back in the day, when baby Kolja G. wasn't even planned by his parents. These US House Pioneers who invented the sound we all are addicted to could almost be Kolja's grand fathers today but this young talents tracks, born in 2014/2015 somehow sound deeply related to the 30 year old hymns from Chicago or Detroit... After putting 1990s record label Emote to bed and a 17 year break from making music Mark Churcher has now knocked out 2 rasping acid house discs within a year on his new Chicago Bee record label. The first very well received EP 'Who's this guy ' is followed up with the same A- Eno-Acid moniker.
This 4 track EP is deeper, darker and even more drugged out. The tracks are slower and longer allowing the listener to be sonically submerged in the reverb swelled acid lines.

'Mystic' Bill Torres is a producer that we feel deserves more props! A Miami born, Chicago dwelling artist who's output has gained total cult status among lovers of that deep, narcotic, late-night groove that he has made his own.

Bill's sound is everything that House music should be, it encapsulates the smoky after hours and throbbing dance-floors of darkened spaces where folks really get down. Fitting then, that a lot of Bill's music is seriously sought after by DJ's and dancers from all over, most of his records are at the top of the wants lists of House fanatics who truly understand the music. 'Classics from the vault vol.1' is one such record - Originally released on Cajmere's mighty Relief Records back in 1997 it wears it influences on it's sleeve proudly, track titles such as 'Late night at the music box' obviously reference where Bill's sound is coming from, but his style is completely original and crystallizes the energy and expression of Ron Hardy and Chicago's heady dance music history into something fresh and individual. GU (GLENN UNDERGROUND) pays tribute to ARMANDO GALLOP & EARL SMITH JR better known as ARMANDO & SPANKY on ACID SAGA 1. The legacy of GU'S 303 can be felt in these latest tracks with bubbling acid lines seeping throughout both SPANK N' GALLOP & PEACEFUL RAGE(ACID REVENGE).

For the fifth outing Worx label The Mekanism believed in II faces, two emerging Dj's from the Parisian scene. They wanted to propose two tracks really influenced by the underground house scène with groovy bassline and sexy samples. Followed by two massive remixes of Luca casal and Neverdogs.

Following on from their second release by Russian producer and DJ, Tripmastaz, the fledgling Barcelona based label drops another blistering EP, this time saturated in acidic 303 lines and crisp 808 percussion by German trio, Daniel Varga, Michael Kuebler, and Sascha Hedgehog, aka REWORK. Having released on Visionquest, Playhouse, Items&Things, Meant, Loveyeah and more, the group continue to reinvent their fresh and funky reimaginings of new wave disco and delve further into sonic explorations. Formed in 2000, REWORK released their first EP 'Anyway I Know You' on Playhouse Records. Several years later, Sascha Hedgehog formerly of French Beat-Punk band Les Quitriche, joined the team. Not long after, their first album 'Fall Right Now' followed and club hits including 'You're So Just Just' and 'Love Love Love Yeah' helped pave the way for them further. Their second LP 'Pleasure Is Pretty' was released in 2007 and remix projects with Alter Ego, Chloe, Magda, Losoul, Jackmate, Trentemoller and others followed. Their musical aesthetic has changed over the years from, in their own words, 'cabaret-independent-house,' to forging a distinct sound that combines icy minimal structures with catchy euro-girl vocals, Anglo-French funk antics and a dash of dancefloor melancholy. With 'Acid Control', the trio see themselves in even darker territory than before, making things much more intense. The release is topped off with an Aphex-esque remix from Venezuelan duo Sergio Muñoz and Israel Sunshine aka Fur Coat, which pairs deep, dark driving beats and a rolling groove that will capture both the mind and the soul.

Unsurprisingly, Richard Galling, does indeed hail from Milwaukee, having released disco inspired jams since about 2012. With his stuff getting plays on the likes of Beats In Space, he got his name out early. His latest offering is this single that features two original tracks and some remixes too. '303 features the eponymous bass machine all over this deep, arpeggio-heavy tech-disco jam, 'Organ' swaps the 303 for a classic Robin S-style house organ, and 'Prophet' adds some big room bass. Also included is a Prophet version of 'Clear Water", a real late 80s, Shep Pettibone-style, Latin house joint. Luke Solomon's Body Edit, is absolut Dancefloor HEAT !!!!

Flügel and Wuttke succeeded with their own and unique take on it, that owned as much to Underground Resistance and the Belleville Three as it did to Sven Väth and Andrew Weatherall.

Richard Sen's sound has always been influenced by black dance music and European electronic music and these two tracks carry on the vibe - dark, electronic funk!

'Flow Master" is inspired by old school New York house combined with European industrial body music. Sen calls it 'muscle house'.
'Bad Meaning Good' is a lighter, deep groove that takes inspiration from African percussion artists like Kongotronics.

Roy England's original mix is a jackin' house jam with a timeless vibe. A classic house sound propelled forward by the titular vocal sample, England manages to deliver a track that would work equally in the lounge, as well as late night in the big room.
On the B side Jarvi's Acid Workout strips the original down even further, and fills it back up, with a wandering, hypnotic acid line to stitch it all together. An old school party sound, both familiar and fresh. Fredy Grogan deconstructs the original into its component parts, building it back up into his dark, and driving dub techno remix. Drawing it out over nearly 8 minutes, this'll have the heads bouncing off the walls.

House, Acid, Techno, pillars of dance music, mixed together, given the ol' razzle dazzle, and served up hot and ready for mind, body, and soul. Grab Need Your Luvin', stick it in the crate, and never worry, because you'll always have the Luvin' you need.
