A seasoned veteran who boasts many early 90's appearances on legendary labels such as Moving Shadow, Rising High & Sapho under alias' including Interface, Mashed, Audio Assault and Space Cadet . More recently, Ash has been affirming his standing releasing quality acid and electro tracks and even an album on Bass Agenda records.

This is pure party rocking acid house music with second to none arrangement and a nod to the past without drowning in old cliches. Look out for this label cos there's lots more coming!

Label Boss Spartaque delivers a massive 3 tracker on the first Codex vinyl release. In The Beginning sets forth a commanding bassline while acidic synths move fluidly with the rhythm and distinct arpeggios come together to take you into the darkness.

Amber Room stomps through the room with an elastic groove, hi hats sessions and deep basslines, while clearing the path for growling synths and melodic overtones layered with a sexy diva vocal sample.

The EP closes with a track titled 'Berliner Goes The Rave' collaboration with Spartaque's good friend Greenjack, which delivers a grinding bassline in combination with the hypnotic male vocals of the haunting kind, eerie notes and a mysterious vibe throughout.

Finally a full EP by D'Marc Cantu (1/2 of 2AM/FM and under other aliases involved in collabo's with Traxx). Technically it's the follow up to his cult hit ''No Control'' (Creme JAK 02, today a highly sought after 12'') and in good H-H-H-House fashion this EP contains a ball busting JTC remix of this anthem.

The Berlin based producer and DJ Marquis Hawkes is next to take the baton for Creme Organization with another of his searing EPs. Before now Hawkes, about whom little is known, has released a diverse array of rough and ready, raw and ripping tracks that range from deep house to jacking acid, weird techno to freaky electro on labels like Dixon Avenue Basement Jams and Clone Jack For Daze. First up here is 'Tunnel', a slow and lazy house cut with rubbery bass drums and sharp edged hi hats making for an inviting groove. Starry melodies unfold up top like a classic night sky and deep, spacious synths flesh out the simple but effective track. Next cut 'Prince Among Men' is a much more prickly and synapse firing affair with random hits, stuttering drums and chopped up vocal samples all chucked together into one fierce brew of soulful analogue noise. On the flip, 'Sofa Acid' is riddled with hiccupping 303 lines and proceeds at an inviting mid tempo pace, whilst closer 'October Blues' is a deconstructed house jam with rave whistles, cow bell pings, wooden hits and tinny drums all loosely glued together into a slow and sombre track that oozes a freaky late night moodiness. Overall, then, an EP that fits in perfectly with Creme and is another fine release from the man they call Marquis Hawkes.

Originally released on vinyl R&S in 1994, 'Meditation Will Manifest' was re-earthed in 2016 by Nina Kraviz and Ricardo Villalobos, becoming a secret weapon on dancefloors 22 years after its original release.
Josh Wink has always been ahead of musical trends and walks his own path in dance music. From a young age Wink was exposed to different mysticism and consciousness philosophies. 'It wasn't a big, popular or trendy thing to do at the time, but I was 14 and just did what my mother did... Releasing tracks like 'Meditation Will Manifest' and 'Higher States of Consciousness', people looked at me as being this deeply profound spiritual guy, but I never really thought about it in that way, even though I'm really into repetitive, transcendental and meditative rhythms. G-Machine returns to planet earth with five boogie bangers from space!

Matuss takes techno and turns it on its head. The cybernetic sound has been filled with human emotion, giving it a more organic feel than much of the music that would fall under the genre.She opens her Absence Seizure 007 EP in trademark style, with a dark jacking cut entitled Pitchureque, in which a pulsating bass line throbs alongside ominous acid swells and disorientating panning effects.Next up, Tektango takes a different route honing in on a set of live tribal tinged percussion, which sway and dissipate with hypnotic effect driven further into the depths with a bubbling synth lead and filtering atmospherics. This live percussion gives the track that organic feel mentioned earlier. Escapade kick starts the B-side with a robust rhythm, built from the ground up with resonant hi hat stabs, echoing claps and sturdy kicks which forms the framework for a deranged lead melody laced with wide open synths and emotive chords to carry the groove. Closing the package is Fonque, where flanger-tinged snare rolls work in unison with driving rhythms, delicate arpeggios and an intricate 303 bass line to create an infectious closing cut.

The protagonists of the Hot City Orchestra a.k.a. Einzelkind & Simon Birkenfeld don't need much of an introduction. Since 1998, the duo has been well known for widely acclaimed productions such as The Observatory for Infuse lately. THE NINE combines skillful composition with intricate vocals. A true headscrew so versatile that it can be integrated into the set at any part. Minimalistic trippy techno, right to the point. ARAS labelhead André Galluzzi seamlessly continues as uncompromising as in his prior release Mario on Cocoon Recordings. With the signature DNA of THE NiINE, André's REMIX enthrals with its compressed structure and crisp acid bassline. Scattered modular sounds ensure a thrilling.

Vincenzo Maurices debut EP is a four-tracker, covering the range of hard hitting & distorted analog techno including a sturdy acid tinge while on the B2 we have Die Roh who delivers a perfect remix to bring the record back to it's shaky shaky house vibe.

Little is known about Chicago's TB Arthur except that he makes essential acid and techno. Sometimes solo, sometimes with Magda as Blotter Trax and this time out it is on his own (312) label. Entitled "Footsie EP" , this four tracker also includes a remix from Derek Plaslaiko, who Arthur first met at Record Time, the famous Motor City record store. Opening the EP is Let's Do Footsie, a deep and woozy, mind melting cut with acid lines, gooey synths and icy hi hats all snaking and slithering round each other in slow motion. Things grow ever more wild and uptempo and you end up fully on your toes. The Bunker New York man Plaslaiko then steps up with a slithering electro remix affair of a track from TB's Test Pressing 3 release. On the flip, TB Arthur drops Venice Beach Acid, another brilliantly freeform and jumbled track with rooted drums, random claps and gloopy synths that drip like treacle. It's brilliantly fun and playful. Closing the EP is Body Scrub, a churning, reverb heavy affair with flabby acid lines, synths that burrow deep and an intently weird and freaky feel that really makes it stand out.

Another day, another project here at Hizou. This time the first in our Special series of strictly-limited vinyl releases focusing on another side to the electronic music we love, yes, a little different to the classic Chicago and Detroit-inspired sounds of our main label, but with just the same passion, pride and panache. Friend of the label W&P Hgg (aka Hugo Giner) returns with Techno Is Back, a cut darker and more twisted than the timeless and jazz-influenced house he is usually associated with, while the enigmatic Ithkuil debuts with Speak My Language, a slice of truly dope deepness. The much-touted duo Gauss enhance their rapidly-growing reputation with Diversey River Bowl, another uncompromising delivery of machine funk, whilst the vastly-experienced pairing of Jaime Read and Owen Jay join forces on Aalto, a groovy, acid-inspired little number.

Tryck & Ton is run by Edvin E & Anton Klint. After a couple of amazing edit releases the guys return with the first original work from the newly founded label. Conga Liver is a percussion driven banger with serious highs and lows. The track gets remix treatment from Lisbons finest Tiago, who adds a discogroove, horns & an incredibly groovy baseline to the table. Final track 'On The Flip' is a playful groover sounding like Robotnik having a loud wine-impregnated argument with Tony Allen over who to host the afterparty.

he latest installment of Roam Recordings comes from the Japanese disco scene via the production duo of internationally acclaimed DJ Que Sakamoto and seasoned studio engineer NT. The title track 'Lalo' is an original production with a stylish edit of an obscure vocal. This slow paced groove has a lot to offer with its bells chiming, synths drifting, and peppered in vocal that brings it all together.The first remix comes from JP & Vulinej the partnership between JP Soul (boss of Roam Recordings) and Jeniluv (a prominent figure in the L.A. dance scene and partner in Roam Recordings). Having heard Que Sakamoto+NT's excellent single, Vulinej fell for the song and brought it to JP Soul at Roam Studios. Together they came up with a filthier heavy hitting acid bender.The second remix comes from Magic Touch who has made a name for himself for his critically acclaimed releases on 100% Silk and Tensnake's label True Romance as well as his performances at places such as Sonar, Unsound, and the legendary Panorama Bar. His remix of 'Lalo' perfectly rounds out the EP in an entirely new direction with elements of atmospheric electro combined with a consistent heady dance beat.The three versions of 'Lalo' together make this an extremely versatile EP that can easily fit for a variety of dance floors, raves, and discotheques.

Acid is the name of the game on Magic Waves's twelfth release, an undercover excursion from one of the UK's most eminent masters of the genre. Ramona happily announces Benjamin Milz' first full-grown EP. Being made by a Frankfurt kid with a mature sound signature, "Basic Motions" nods towards what once was and what could be one day.

Pilocka Krach still means nothing but Pilocka Noise. She's the charming queen of Berlins Post Techno Underground and a true Recording & Perfoming artist. Her new release on her very own imprint Greatest Hits International is a conceptional framed double vinyl album and a journey diary of her last two years on tour around the globe, with Mexico, Detroit and her hometown roots in Berlin as fixpoints on her neverending agenda. Pilocka Krach is Sugar Cane & The Lost Amigos , her band and all at once. Her style is pure electro post rave simplicity, where each single sound is either raw sampling cuts or deep growling synthesis. Big basslines meet funky grooves and surprising hooks, grooving along with her own voice and a lot of other vocal features, whereever you go. Each 'n everthing gets the room it deserves and mingles alltogether to so much more, than just another stereo sum. Never heard an album that dry and that wet at the same time, with an overall fun and jam factor, that is truly touching. She took her original style more than just a few steps further and sharpened her skills in an impressive and real straight forward way of raw funkyness and true storytelling. You can't listen to it without moving. Pilocka is always surfing the right balance of how much, or better how less it needs, to keep it going, get down to the point of no return and beyond the miracle of repetition. Pure oldschool sounds never sounded that fresh and never, ever 'been told that way before.

For its first album project, Shipwrec is to release a new full-length album from pioneering electronic producer DMX Krew. Entitled Shape Shifting Shaman, the nine-track album will be released at the end of May with artwork by Doppeldenk.

Ed DMX is best known for releasing six albums on Aphex Twin's Rephlex Records and for spanning styles from breakbeat to techno to electro. He has already released two EPs on the four-year-old Dutch label Shipwrec and now returns with a full-length opus that proves, more than twenty years after first emerging, that few people are as sonically inventive as him.

Of the album, DMX Krew says "I feel like these tracks are more original and have a stronger feeling of my personality in them. When I finished each of these tracks I had a happy feeling that I had done something true to myself and something that represents my best."

Made using old synths, samplers and drum machines, the album immediately grabs your attention with the disco dazzle and magical '80s influenced synth sounds of 'Paradise Grove'. From there more simmering synth patterns and twinkling night skies open out above and around you on 'Strange Harpsikordd' and the retro cosmic stylings of 'Forward March'.

Things take a turn into electro territory on the hurried, bubbling 'Reshaped Waves', 'Fractalus' is gauzy, synth-laden house and 'Love Plus' pings about with plenty of sci-fi lushness. Final tracks 'Future Light Cone', 'Easing into Tomorrow' and 'Track Mood' close the album out with squelchy electro and synthetic disco sounds that fire your every synapse and awaken your every nerve.

Reporting that he is always making and releasing music but tends to save back his best tracks for a full length project, Shape Shifting Shaman is just that - a collection of all killer material with great cover design and excellent mastering.

"I first got introduced to Cliff Lothar through a mutual friend of ours at the time, Lori Napoleon (Antennes). I was surprised by what I heard. He had this feel in his music that seemed to set him apart from just about everybody I had heard at the time. From the start of my time over at Submerge with Mike Banks, Mike had always given me demos to check out, because he just didn't have the time and a lot of the stuff that came in sounded very much the same. A lot of it was very well made but to be honest it was rare to find something that stood out. A few years later, me and Mad Mike were talking about some of the old UR records and one off labels, and I mentioned World Power Alliance. Mike had always wanted to fire the label back up, but there was just never enough time to scout artists outside of Detroit to fill the roster. I said I might have some stuff sitting aside from friends of mine over there that you may like. None of it really seemed to grab him till I popped in Cliff's stuff. The thing that always made me crazy is that I would have loved to snatch up some of the material and put it out, but we just couldnt find enough variety of artists around it to fill in more records. This record contains some of those tracks. This guy knows what he's doing and I'm sure you'll hear plenty more from him in the future. A year after his last outing on the label, Andrew Red Hand is back on MOS Deep with another fine four track offering. Known as the Romanian Underground Resistance, Red Hand also works with labels like Detroit Underground and has a timeless house and techno sound that is always uncompromising.

'Lonely Heart' opens things up in spritely fashion, with frazzled synths circling round a rooted rubbery groove. The lines grown more wild and untethered as things roll on an it is sure to carry floors away to another dimension.
'Sleepless Nights' is another busy cut, with gurgling acid wrestling with more serene and soulful synth smears. Bristling and brimming with energy, it's a fluid bit of techno that is as classic as it is fresh.
'Dry Tears' is another fulsome arrangement, with light and shiny synths, gritty bas notes and airy hi hats all jostling for your attention and last of all, 'Moms Spirit' soars off to the horizon on a smooth house tip, with rueful pads, sweeping strings and elastic bass really getting you on your toes. These are clean, crisp, accomplished tracks that cannot fail to make their mark.

Failsafe is a new label created by, and primarily for the release of, material by Juxta Position, who's output was previously featured on Rhythm Nation, and on DVS1's Mistress Recordings imprint. Juxta Position first came to the attention of the electronic music world in 2013, with the release of "Juxta Position Vol 1" on Mistress. This debut release contained the widely popular track "Mercy", which was featured on Midland's RA Mix, Licensed to Deetron's fabric 76 DJ mix release, and found it's way into the crates of many different DJs across the spectrum of house and techno. Inaugurating the first Failsafe release, Juxta Position delivers two slices of upfront hypnotic techno, custom made for cutting edge DJs to provide maximum dancefloor damage.

Josh Butler makes an appearance on Definition with his delightfully retro 'Sideways Acid' EP. Opening the 3 track EP is the title track, a rich, thick throwback to the days of Acid House sure to get any dance floor moving in no time. Next, we've got 'Educate', a straight house percussion with a warm rhythmic chord thrown over it. It's relaxed enough to listen to at home, but contains enough energy to be played in the club. Lastly, 'What I Want' starts us off with a nice and heavy beat before building up to a playful bass line and wandering vocal cuts that sit nicely in the background. Matuss returns to her Absence Seizure imprint February 2017 with 'Seizure No.6',

comprising four original compositions from the New York based artist.

Since launching the Absence Seizure imprint in 2015 alongside producer friend Abe Duque, New York's Matuss has carved out an impressive back-catalogue with this new release marking its sixth and previous material garnering the attention of acts like Derek Plaslaiko, Beaner, DJ Deep, TWR72 and Norman Methner.

Once again Julia Matuss, better known as simply Matuss, is at the controls to deliver four original compositions, the first of which 'La Folie' sees her deliver a haunting slice of tension building Techno via throbbing bass, organic percussion hits and subtly evolving distorted rhythms. 'Muirr' follows and takes a more reserved strip back approach with swirling bass tones and sparse drums gradually building towards a frenzied fusion of psychedelic synth swells, vocal stabs and acidic hits.

Opening the flip side of the record is 'I Hate Valentine's Day', a murky five-minute number employing mind-bending low end drones, dynamic off-kilter percussion and sweeping atmospherics before 'Acid Slay' closes, and as the name would suggest lays focus on tripped-out acid licks alongside chugging bass and minimalistic drums.

Believe it or not but Uncanny Valley looks back on five years of releasing records this summer. There was a bit of discussion on how to celebrate this occasion properly. Instead of just turning into the typical Greatest hits-routine the label heads Albrecht, Carl, Conrad and Philipp decided to look back and forth. So, besides a record that unleashes four tracks from the vaults of these five years there will be a record with new material too. Here's "Uncanny Valley: Five Years On Parole - what's happening"! Chinaski is a great artist to open this record as his solo EP for Uncanny Valley is in the making. His dreamy "Angel Heart" has already caused a stir on many dance floors with its enthusiastic synths and bittersweet melodies. Derive on the other hand is a good example for another accompanying factor that was important for Uncanny Valley: collaborations. This time it is UV artist Sneaker and the Greek synth genius June that created the wonderful Krautrock inspired synth odyssey "Schicksalhafte Begegnung". Like Chinaski there is also a solo EP from Panthera Krause for Uncanny Valley at the ready. His pumping "Coochie" is a first foretaste of what is to come. A versatile track that has everything an open-minded listener of Dance music is looking for. Iron Curtis completes the EP with "Ensuite", an Acid driven piece of Electronic music that is just as old school as it is vigorous. Besides lots of other artists, it was former Dresden and now Berlin based artist Paul Waak who had a formative influence on all the visual aspects of Uncanny Valley. Sure thing that he was the man to create the artwork for both records in true Paul Waak style.

André Hommen and Gerd Janson have remixed Tensnake's 'The Walk / Keep On Talking'. Forthcoming on Tensnake's own label True Romance, TREP010 'The Walk / Keep on Talking' Remixes will be available on both digital and vinyl from the 14th December. It's arguably the label's biggest remix package since Duke Dumont and Ewan Pearson remixed 'Love Sublime'. The Pete Tong approved André Hommen - also the creative producer and label manager of Dennis Ferrer's Objektivity imprint - has remixed 'The Walk' on the A-side. A deep, minimalistic beat drives his remix and a smart breakdown introduces the melody from Tensnake's original, pushing all the original elements to higher heights. 'Running Back' label boss Gerd Janson's 'Keep On Talking' RAW mix is set against powerful drums and acid-tinged synths, with a piano-led breakdown echoing the original melody. The Panorama Bar resident and celebrated producer delivers a unique cut formed of several retro influences to provide a cool new twist on Tensnake's upbeat original. The vinyl release also include's Gerd's beats-only version in the 'Gerd Janson RAW beats mix".

Tunnel Signs is the nom de plume of Australian born lover, fighter and romantic, Ash Moses. With a taste for playing and producing records that embrace the darkness, Moses parts the sea and finds the wonky middle ground between reverb drenched postpunk, hypnotic techno and spaced out disco. Having previously seen releases on labels such as Nein, Clouded Vision and HAKT he now finds a home with Cutters Records with this 12' with Will Buck.
The release, titled 'Spirits' came into existence when Ash relocated to New York City, a place he had long dreamed of from afar. As luck would have it he found himself sharing an apartment with another likeminded electronic musician named Will Buck who became his studio-partner and eventual collaborator. Having bonded over a shared love of synthesizers, drum machines and all things rhythm they soon began their own freeform jam sessions which paved the way for this 12' release.
'Spirits' shares some of the slow hypnotic swagger and dark disco drone of Red Axes and Multi Culti but with a futuristic percussive palette of the likes of Four Tet. The heady modulated elastic synth sounds give way to deep undulating bass patterns and tribal percussion. On the flip, the lights get turned out and the acid turned up with an ominous Techno rework courtesy of Hivern Disc's own Marc Piñol.

'Soak by James Hadfield, featuring Danny Linton, is one of the main reasons for the launch of Me Me Me and a record I love so much I have done my first rem ix for the label,' explains Man Power. Further remixes from Axel Boman and Bird Of Paradise cement a stellar third release on the burgeoning Me Me Me imprint.
Soak is a distinct and uncategorisable piece of electronic music, with a rich thread of emotion running through it so strongly, it remains within each remix, albeit distilled in different ways. Fellow North Eastern Englishman Bird Of Paradise (Correspondant / HAKT) turns in two differing atmospheric interpretations of the track (one appearing as a digital exclusive), while Studio Barnhus supremo Axel Boman brings his own inimitable style to his rework, and Man Power's delivers a dreamy and forlorn infusion on this magnetic record.
James Hadfield has been releasing music over the last ten years under several guises including Lizards and Elizabeth Collective, although remains an elusive figure in the bubbling underground house and Balearic scene. Soak sees him teaming up with Danny Linton , best known as post dubstep producer Funk Ethics.
Man Power's ear for the more captivating and experimental side of electronic music is being championing through Me Me Me, putting discerning dance floors to the test through its releases. 2017 contributions include Mike Simmonetti, Chida, Fort Romeau, Hammer, Rex The Dog, Daniel Maloso and many more .

Polyop was formed in 2015 by producers Jack Driscoll, Harry Orso and visual artist and programmer Alex Kempton. Since then they have been researching and developing a visual-audio experience that fuses nature and tribal culture with the machine. 'Ceremony' is the first exploration of that aesthetic, with their own take on acid house, they take the subject on a hypnotic journey through an alternate sonic-visual reality.

Kemp mutates 'Ceremony' into something between disco and techno, the kick and bassline thick and pulsing, whilst the percussion syncopates infectiously. The track progresses into a crescendo, which is amplified by the cavernous feel of the mix. This is certain to hypnotise 3am dancefloor-pagans into a state of worship.

HYDRAFUNK is an exciting Detroit Techno inspired collaboration between Immigrant Records owner and label manager Robin Porter and US analogue synth guru Mike Carr. The duo first collaborated back in 2002 releasing the 'Mental Stealth EP' on Immigrant, featuring the bassline and synth heavy 'Fathernature', a track that found it's way on 'Evil' Eddie Richard's Fabric 16 mix CD and is currently being remixed for the upcoming 'Immigrant Icons' vinyl remix series by the scene's golden child - 'Subb-an.' Their debut three track EP, 'Beasts From Below', fuses the analogue aptitude of Mike Carr and Robin Porter's attention to sound frequency, arrangement detail and understanding of the dance floor, delivering an intoxicating peak time package of delight. The A1 track entitled 'Underworld' is a deep journey of melodic synth work and chugging groove that travels into dark territories, complimented by uplifting percussion that builds into a peak time beast from the deep. On the flip side, the B1 track entitled 'Immortal Melody' delves even further into moody territory delivering a tantalising array of dreamy synths and jackin' old school percussion, that submerges into an abyss of texture before rising up into a dance floor banger. The inside B2 cut entitled 'Hydra's Dance' is definitely not a token bonus track and is the most dance floor friendly cut, featuring Robin's knack for creating powerful basslines, unique vocals and Mike's ability to create depth and texture with his analogue synth programming. With another HYDRAFUNK EP almost at the pressing plant and an 'Immigrant Icon's remix EP underway, the duo will be leading the charge to push Immigrant back into the Techno and House limelight in 2016 and beyond with their underworld funk.
