Since 2004 Chris Wood has been working as a successful producer and remixer for labels including Souvenir, Below, Kindisch, MurMur, be_chosen or levelNONzero and in 2009 he started working with his long-time friend, fellow producer and co-owner of Freebase Records in Frankfurt, Meat (Carsten Schuchmann). Coming just a short time after the release of his collated singles collection, Retrospective, the first track on this new 12 from Chris Wood & Meat comes courtesy of deep house don, Mr. G. His remix provides a sparse take on the original 'Cock Robin,' jacking straight ahead into a hard-hitting house rhythm, complete with finger-clicks and vocal stabs. A definite dance-floor roller. On the flip, the duo have provided a brand new cut, 'Tony's Pipe,' which rattles with drilling percussion and soaks itself in a modulating, acid-tinged synth line, all built around emerging, muffled vocal samples.

Somewhere deep in the Andromeda Galaxy lies the mysterious planet Wasteland. Little is known. Though, rumor says it inhabits lifeforms from all over the Laniakea supercluster. These lifeforms have only one thing in common: on their home planet they are part of the Mutant Society. As an exclusive product for members of the Mutant Society on Earth, Radio Matrix recorded the auditory data from its latest visitor, Delta Funktionen. Spread over 4 EP's and compiled on this cd, it tells the intense story of his journey towards Wasteland.

Following eight years running the EevoNext imprint with Stefan Robbers, Rosedale Records aims to showcase hand-picked producers sharing sides with remixes by techno's establishment and some of Estroe's new discovered talents via her own producer advice company. But there's no better way of getting down to business with a pound of no-nonsense, signalling of intent from the boss herself, a nice means of getting the ball rolling and to set future contributors on the Rosedale path.

First up, 'I See You', which has all the welcome of a sniper looking at you through a set of crosshairs. A glowering riff wades into alien frequencies and floating signals caught in Estroe's bass-mounted operation. For all it's worth as a piece of razor sharp techno, it still shows plenty of energetic, accessible bounce in its hydraulics, and ability to bring tension to arenas twice over where the pressure of the kick drum undercuts shadowy, ambiguous shades.

Re-serviced by Deadbeat, the Canadian Scott Monteith speckles his nickel-plated pistons with dirt, double-times the original's riff and drives home a metronomic, tech-energised raider of the dancefloor. Making the engine purr, clamping the joint down, and then adding fuel to the fire with an injection of acid, this is the sweet spot for those who measure track desirability by the amount of sweat they're swimming in by the end of it.

Dragged along by an 8-bit-themed wash of addictively Sheffield-born bass, 'I Wish' is set in the long tradition of dance music where airy, twinkling keys are pitched against what is a savage bottom end. Dreamy clubbing in many ways because of its trance veneer, it shies away from an ambient tag by making you think you can sail away, before you realise you're knee deep in beats that develop the bump of a cuddly monster. What's more, it epitomises the new label's ethos of supplying tracks that are 'moody and deep, but always with an energetic edge.'

Nadia Struiwigh is one of Estroe's regular partners on the platters, and her remix reiterates the package's demeanour of being granite-jawed and something to swerve in a dark alley. Despite being dominated by a kick drum leaving bruises on your ears, it fits the profile of the strong silent type in parallel to the gentle giant of the original, patiently lying in wait and unperturbed by a stretch of synth flicks looking to find a break in its defence. Struiwigh is resourceful with her power, offering wide open spaces so as to maximise its stark noise, and chiselling away into the night like a skilfully sharpened sledgehammer.

The first offering on BoomChik comes from N & N Tracks. Produced by Neville Watson and Nigel Rogers (aka Perseus Traxx) in an impromptu recording session lasting just one afternoon, the love of classic sounding Chicago tones and feelings are immediately present. The sound is that of effect drenched raw machinary, hammering out beats and
synth parts intended to transport you on the dance floor, all beaten out of the machines live to tape with Neville and Nigel just performing the occasional edit here and there.

Yes - This is actually happening ! Legendary Acid House/Hip House innovator Fast Eddie's masterpiece 'My Melody' gets pressed to 12. To say this track is rare is an understatement. It never recieved a 12 release (unless you include a very rare bootleg in 1988) and only ever appeared cut very quietly on 1989's 'Jackmaster Phuture Trax' album.

Well now we are very proud to present to you remastered and cut super loud for the first time ever, this amazing track.. But that's not all !! Also included are two further album cuts hand selected for their squirming Acid lines and the fact that they've also never been available on 12 Vinyl before (only on LPs) . Then what better way to round it all off than with the freshly remastered banger 'Hip House' that sees Eddie get lyrical over one of the most suggestive 303 lines ever. Don't sleep on this one !!

It's been a long while. We shouldn't have left you without a dope beat to step to. Tird is, as the name might imply, the third vinyl from the Swedish duo Kondens. The first two were out 2010 and 2011 on Kontra-Musik and included remixes by Chain Reaction's very own Substance and Berghain resident Norman Nodge. Since then, Kondens has slowed down the tempo a bit, both production wise as well as musically. Andreas Tilliander has focused on his TM404 and Mokira projects but did a rare release as Tilliander for Borft Records too. Stefan Thor is currently working on the followup for his Folie moniker which gave birth to two albums in the beginning of this decade. Slammin glam techno!

After serving up a vigorous taste of his garage-house approach on the highly successful Music Is Love VA earlier in the year, Jackmaster K is the latest artist from the MIL roster to continue the imprints in-house premise. With each EP the label release, they give us something different amid the infectious house they're building a reputation for. On MIL006 the Birmingham-based producer adds to the labels progressing status, with an EP that comes complete with two heavy-weight remixes from Liam Geddes and New Jack City.

I Need Your Love kicks things off, a welcome reminder of Jackmaster K's affiliation toward classic sounding house. An effectively crafted vocal female sample is cut-up and diced out over a bumping bassline for the opening track, as a flourish of piano key stabs, flickering keyboard trappings, intermittent horns and tribal drum patterns are splashed over the introduction of a male vocal snippet to carry everything along nicely.

Jackmaster K's penchant for introducing and weaving numerous elements of US house/garage into a track is testament to his varied style; something personified in Feelings. Swinging snares and old skool chorded pads are merged against a bouncing bassline that flows gloriously along over splashy hi-hats and punchy piano stabs. The utilisation of different female vocal hooks gives the track a 90s sounding aura - thematic of Jackmaster K's work - building into punctuating sax arrangements that filter soulfully through the track.

For the B side of the EP aficionados of classic bumping house New Jack City bring the remix of the title track, dishing up their characteristically groove-heavy rhythms for another stripped-back roller. Their remix of I Need Love maintains an essence of the vocal and horn elements of the original, providing an overall tougher sounding beat. A hard-hitting, low-slung bass underlies the fore of the track while prolonged key chords and ticking hi-hats combine with a dubbed down male vocal and crowed jeers to take the track down a path of heavier house terrain.

Fresh off the back of his MIL005 release and rounding off the EP in faultless fashion is Milton Keynes producer Liam Geddes. Stamping his distinctive house sound over Feelings, Geddes gives us the deepest offering of the four tracks. The drum groove and bassline are deep enough that just an intermittent vocal hook and crisp handclaps are enough to flesh out the proportions of the track. Ticking hi-hats, bass kicks and the build-up of warm key chords at the breakdown prove how effective simplicity can be in a remix, concluding yet another fine release from Music Is Love.

Raw Tools returns with four powerful tracks from the vaults of talented Scottish producer Stephen Lopkin, who already made his vinyl debut with a banging 12' on the mighty M>O>S. Chicago flavored beats and acid driven grooves bolted onto Detroit rhythms and swirling pads of analog goodness. Comes with a special illustration by Bucharest artist, Silviu Andrisoi. That Place's concept is to give a musical tribute to a place that marked the life of the artist. The label leaves space to the subjectivity of the artist in both musical style as visual on the cover because it's him who chosen the illustration. That Place is intended to be broad in terms of musical style, it can be house, techno, disco edit, ambient, acid, etc.. As long as the music reflects the soul of the artist.
That Place is a label run by Juliano. He honors for this first release a Lyon's artist: Visitors for Reworks. The latter has happened here 4 House, Electro and Techno tracks.
"Space 1" is the opening track fot this Ep. VFR puts forward a basseline ever bounce and go in acid tones while the instrumental part takes us in a constant dynamic. The second piece is entitled "Space 3 (Flight of Stairs Version)" and is a journey towards experimentation with electro acid sounds. On the flip side of the disc there is the track "Space 2" who is Breaky and goes on the lovely flavour of Blip Techno. Closing the disc, "Space 3" which is probably the most dancefloor piece of this Ep and shows the ingenuity of VFR to give groove and voltage to a song.

BLD returns with a heavyweight cuts EP focused on analog machines and taking influences of early 90's Techno and Acid productions.
A-Side's Be Apart is an epic Acid Breakbeat dancefloor killer looking towards the future and the past. Meanwhile on the B-Side you can find This is the edge, a Deep, Dub and Hypnotizing Stomper, closely followed by Soft Walker, an unique mixture of slow breakbeats and floating acid synths. Halloween, also known as All Hallows' Eve or All Saints Eve, a celebration and remembrance of the dead, or just a hoot on a dark October evening, running demented in Michael Myers masks blagging assorted goodies off of scared pensioners... It's also the launch date for the next Hypercolour single from Luke Vibert, the acid warrior from Cornwall, whose 'Ridmik' album this year on Hypercolour heralded a much welcomed return to the scene for the highly eclectic producer. 'Halloween' is a dark, Pagan stomping acid tormentor, resplendent with eerie horror FX and ghostly chords. Tortured vocals give Bam Bam's 'Where's Your Child' a run for its money in this chilling 909 meets 303 breakout. A perfect antidote to those thoroughly fed up with hearing Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' for the umpteenth time this October.... On the flip, we've two versions of 'Jack U Whole'. In it's Original form, Vibert explores the 303 Bassline further, the supernatural vocal taking us on a twisted ride over the crisp drum programming. SDC AKA Space Dimension Controller, fresh from a run of singles on R&S and Royal Oak, weighs in with his '1988 Vibe Mix'. Quite literally transporting us back to the Second Summer Of Love, SDC keeps it faithful with a mighty jack attack and lifting the mood somewhat with some fathoms deep chords and deft synth melodies. Part 2 of 'Halloween' comes soon, with more new Vibert tracks, and remixes from Falty DL and Tom Demac.

Our sixth release sees the italian techno artist Dario Tronchin a.k.a. Chevel making his debut on Vae Victis. "A Loveable Inciter" is a 5 tracks ep which blends elements from the last 4 yrs of Chevel's work in the studio. "Now and Them" and "Black Forest" were recorded by Dario early this year, "Reteach" and "Basic Electricity" were written in June 2011 while Teens belongs to one of Dario's first recordings and it's dated 2009. All tracks were recorded on tape.

Martin Lewis, the insane house kid from Berlin is breaking bad with his new and massive 'Rewind EP' on Freebase Records. With his first strike 'Believer' he delivers a flat footed house banger with a grumpy bassline, flavoured with an hypnotizing vocal sample. The second track ' Breaking Bad', a genuine groove tool, is also influenced by Martins garage credo. Sublime melody riffs are competing with a wiggling bassline.
Tuff city Kids, aka Gerd Janson and Phillip Lauer come up with two mind- boggling remixes of 'Believer'. At the 'Acid Remix' they take out their breaky 90s Acid drumset. This one is dry, jacking and sophisticatedly tribal. The 'Tuff City Kids Remix' starts with desert- dry acid elements which grow up to an uplifting acid soundwall. A true 'Jack in the Box'.

Delft revisits its very first release for two fresh remixes of Delft 00X cuts from label regulars Alden Tyrell and Matrixxman. Tyrell sets about making LA-4A's Invader into an even heavier dancefloor beast, while Matrixxman heighten's America Kid's sinister side to hypnotic effect. Also included are the original mix of Invader, which turned the first release into a highly-sought secret weapon for DJs including Optimo, Mike Servito, Erol Alkan and Bicep, as well as a synthapella of America Kid.

Chicago's Trax Records has gone down in history as being one of, if not the most important House labels.
With a roster that includes luminaries such as Adonis, Armando and many, many more this accolade is more than justified.

"Acid Trax" is a loose guide to some of the above mentioned peoples music, but it is also a snapshot of the rough, lo-fi, almost bedroom quality of some of the sounds from this new wave of producers emanating from the city in the mid to late 80's. It is these sounds that captured the imaginations of people all over the world at the time and continue to inspire and influence countless contemporary producers today.

This compilation is the perfect addition to the seasoned Chicago lovers collection or it is the perfect starting point for those who have just discovered the windy city's own unique brand of jacking electronic grooves. There are plenty of classics included on here, all re-mastered and re-pressed in conjunction with Trax Records. Extended to to a double pack for a louder pressing from the original single LP version.

Damn, time is running by. After releasing Mono Negro´s 3rd Strike EP in February, label head Ante Perry is
musically responsible for the 3rd be an ape release. 1980 was a great year for him, because he was born in
it. Born in 1980 It´s a hommage to a decade, which influenced him a lot. World traveller Teenage Mutants
was also influenced musically by this decade (he has a huge 80ties sound folder on his mobile), so there
wasn´t any better artist to remix Born in 1980. The ep will be completed by No Entrance With Shorts, a track
which was made after a night, where Ante was not allowed to enter a club with his fancy shorts somewhere
in Germany. Listen loud - freak out!

ITALIAN MAINSTAY ALLI BOREM RETURNS TO DESOLAT ON THE DESTINATIONS EP Alli Borem has been bubbling under the surface for a few years now, stringing together a couple of fine releases on a diverse range of labels including Suara, Rawthentic, Dirtybird and his own Root50 label. First appearing on Desolat in 2011 and again on 2012, this time the Italian producer makes his third outing with the Destinations EP, which once again showcases his versatility as a producer across these five adventurous and very different tracks. 'Destinations' and 'Direzione Rebibbia' are both warm set builders, with 'Destinations' featuring slowly building piano chords which dominate until a distinctive vocal takes centre stage. 'Direzione Rebibbia' is another rich track, which again simmers away but this time with a glorious meandering Acid bass line and chord stabs. 'Maximum Description' marks a change in direction with mechanical and robotic sounds captivating the listener and transporting them to far away out of space surroundings. Similarly impressive is 'Quorum' with its twisted house aesthetic. Here an off-kilter groove, incessant drum claps, robotic bleeps, and reverberating bass all combine with fantastic results. 'Trip Out' again switches the focus and proceeds at a slower BPM but features shuddering bass, and a repetitive vocal; as the track steams ahead down a Hip-Hop trajectory. It's clear to see that on the Destinations EP Alli Borem delivers a kaleidoscopic snapshot into where he's at, which turns out to be an extremely exciting place. All five tracks on offer show a different side to his production prowess and are evidence of a producer who is not just enjoying himself but at the top of his game.

On side A "Rush Hour" kicks off the EP, all tough snare drums, acidic lines and occasional flutes mimicking the chaos of travelling underground at peak time with a healthy dose of that Burrell swing thrown in for good measure. "Brownstone Express" follows and takes things down a notch or 2 into almost sub aquatic territory with it's glacial synth lines and rolling drum machines, a welcome oasis of calm.

On side B we have the no-nonsense beat of "Straphanger", another stripped back acid excursion punctuated with epic string stabs and Rheji's breathy, sexy spoken word vocals in the mix. Finishing the EP is "Turnstyle Turbulence" a sparse, rhythmic piano driven cut with a rolling bass-line, the perfect way to end our journey through Rheji's subterranean transport network!

Yet another essential release from the Burrell back catalog, re-mastered and re-pressed here for 2015 with all original label artwork intact.

UABOS, aka Matteo Pepe, is a young and rising start from the fashion capital of Europe. This Milan musician melts the Mediterranean with 707 attitude, connecting his homeland with the iconic floor grooves of Chicago. Warbling acid warmth gives way to spiralling female samples as ''Dusk'' sets in. The track is pure golden sunshine. Tweaked bars are woven through clean drums to form an energy-filled track of explosive properties. Polished rhythm patterns scaffold the EP. From this solid base flow clever melodies and dancefloor subtlety. 303s trickle against thick and rich chords for the textured tones of ''ABC Dream''. UABOS grabs his audience, holding them with hypnotic harmonies and an entrancing elegance. But with that is an intoxicating funk, one epitomized in ''The Drill''. Toms and pads introduce. Snares snap as a deep and dense build is constructed, layers bubbling arpeggios support cascading chords for a Chitown streaked disco romp. The finale, ''Squash'', is living musical liquid. Americans Hakim Murphy and Ike Release are two Chicago house addicts who produce solo and as a duo under the name Innerspace Halflife.Here they turn up on one of Europe's finest deep house labels in MOS Deep with a two-track 10 vinyl release.Wind is the a-side the pair turn in a main room house banger with icy hi hats dangling above a forceful acid bassline that repeats over and over as thin pads sing about above and have you look to the future.It's wholly analogue as you'd expect, and as atmospheric as it is fierce.Ike Release goes solo on the flip with Phazzled, a much more laid back deep house jaunt with long legged, rubbery kicks and all sorts of busy sci-fi FX filling in the gaps.The harmonic chords add plenty of warmth and invite you to get lost in their midst classicist house with a future perspective.

There's great stuff here. Jam Jam Jam is a cover version of the infamous classic disco track by People's Choice, pubished by TSOP (The Sound Of Philadelphia) in 1976. Bobby Starrr is a Berlin-based House DJ/ producer and co-resident of the monthly House party e·man·ci·pate at Tresor. Starrr's DJ-sets are an energetic blend of emotional Acid House, melodic Deep House with Disco and contemporary tracks that he identifies as Future Classics. In 2007 he teamed up with Hip House founding father Tyree Cooper as the DJ duo Jack The Box, which has subsequently become one of Berlin's most coveted underground House acts. The duo released their debut album "Side A" on Moodmusic.

No doubt some tracks immediately deserve to become a vinyl, endowing them with a halo of fetichism. Thus, poetic justice transforms a flawless work into a material, enjoyable edition.

'Time to Freak" by T.W.I.C.E. is one of the jewels of our crown. Santos Resiak signs a passionate remake that today we are lucky to listen to in analog recording.

After a hiatus from the releasing scene, Highlive is back with a dark and clubby new three track emission; - You EP'. The compelling title track, a lightly tribalsitic and clear structured sound conception, calls you to the dance floor. A fantastic call out hook when it clocks midnight. *Christian Burkhardt* slightly re-enforces the tribal feel and adds a seductively obscure bass line to the initial sound composition. Both, the original and remix, version of the title track - You' are frisky, fresh and tomboyish in their own special way. Created in liaison with *Zustra* - Last Night' is a bitchy and deeply nasty club air. This composition keeps you stuck between the beginning and the end without ever a chance of escape. Not too mean nor too nice is what generates the addicitive pretention - Last Night' clearly fulfills.

Liddell Townsell's debut 12" on Trax (co-produced with Adonis) is a non-stop call to arms to the dancefloor set to a hype Chicago backing track that presses all the right buttons!

Originally released in 1987, this is the first time it has been re-mastered and re-issued and it still sounds as heavy as it did back then, a sure fire dancefloor killer in true Chicago fashion, "Party People Jack Your Body" is an essential weapon in any DJ's bag.

"Let The Rhythm Move Your Feet"

Los Angeles based Nomadico releases the first record on his own label Yaxteq. The music on this release sums up 10 years of work with Underground Resistance and sets the tone for what is to follow on Yaxteq.

"Resistance is not Futile" is an anthem for the do-it-yourself, grassroots philosophy that is the core of Nomadico as an artist. The lyrics state, "We will not be clones, we will not be assimilated" over a shuffling, grinding bassline. The song's moody atmosphere, simultaneously dark yet uplifting, provides the listener with the soundtrack to continue the resistance.

"Cabrakan" is a storming Techno funk track that builds and builds. Inspired by the otherworldly sounds of the Red Planet label, it's a roller coaster designed for peak time dancefloor destruction.

"Romero's Echo" builds around an almost industrial level bass synth driving its way towards a manic synth lead. The breakdown features a Spanish minister preaching about staying grounded amidst the challenges in life. The title is a tribute to the revered Archbishop Oscar Romero of El Salvador.

"After The Anger" is a direct descendant of the Underground Resistance school of aggressive Techno. It's distorted bass and funked up hi-hats move in and out while synth pads and percussion go along for the ride.

Back To Basics is the debut album from Around 7 and the first release on new label Robsoul Jazz, an offshoot of the well-established Robsoul Recordings house label run by Phil Weeks. The album and new label focus on laid-back jazz, hip hop and broken beats, and also reflect the art of sampling. Hip Hop influences such as J Dilla and DJ Premier are in heavy evidence, alongside the jazz of Miles Davis, Bill Evans and the legendary Blue Note Records. Around 7 is the Parisian based Sébastien Guertau whose music career began as a bassist and trumpet player in a jazz/funk band. After learning to play keyboard and discovering the Akai MPC sampler and software like Cubase, Sébastien merged everything together to create his own tracks based around live instrumentation and samples.

The result is the music on Back To Basics. Initially a bunch of separate tracks, Sébastien played them to his friend Phil Weeks who, in typical decisive fashion, declared' 'That's dope. I'm going to start a new label with you are the first artist.'

The aim of the tracks was to sound acoustic through the use of the jazz samples, but underpinned by rough old school hip hop beats. The sample usually forms the starting point for each track, as Sébastien explains, 'Like for The 7th Sin, I cut it in little pieces to do something different. It makes new melodies or harmonies and I build around it. For other tracks like Butter & Fly I started with the groove because the beat with the little voice in the back was the main ingredient. Increasingly, I like to edit the track in a natural feeling - I think this the part that jazz has in my music, improvising with samples like a musician with his instrument.

The Dance is the result of a long lasting musical love affair between Kontra-Musik's Ulf Eriksson and Sebastian Mullaert (aka Minilogue). As most love affairs, it started off as an exciting experiment: Ulf would play records and Sebastian would bring out his music gear and play a live set. As they were touring with this live concept, their sounds started to really integrate, and after one especially fine night at Trouw, Amsterdam, Ulf and Sebastian decided it was time to conceive The Dance. Once the decision was taken, everything else came naturally. The Dance was to be recorded live, in one take, at Kontra-Musik's home field Inkonst, Malmo, Sweden.

Swedish doomed out techno with a firm EBM influence. Sequenced basslines, lots of 16th note drums and some dark sounds from this debuting Stockholm producer!

What does a rave sound like the next day The strobe lights in a dark warehouse, the pounding kick, the blur of ecstatic faces lead to a morning-after emptiness, all fade into memories of the friends you once had. On Ode, Tin Man (proper name Johannes Auvinen) explores this feeling, offering tracks which possess an exhausted joy, the aural equivalent of the stretch of time beginning when the last record is played and stretching on towards the doleful contemplation of last night's unmade sheets. Appropriately, Tin Man's melancholic dance music is more club-ready than ever. The opening tracks explore the spacious atmosphere first proposed on Neo Neo Acid and the (recently repressed) Acid Test 01 collaboration with Donato Dozzy. Auvinen continues to coax unique, bittersweet sounds out of the 303 - his control is akin to a virtuosic theremin player, all dramatic lunges and dynamics. Yet on tracks like Depleted Serotonin, the memories of half-remembered nights surface. That track reprises the minor-key rave breakdown, ending with nearly three-minutes of knackered techno throb. Similarly, 'What a Shame' sounds like a forgotten Warp classic run through Tin Man's palette of tasteful reserve. Always conceptual, Tin Man is commenting on big room techno music by presenting his thoughtful, hungover version of it. On Vertigo, he reins in the acid box acrobatics - opting instead for a rudimentary, early-Chicago style pattern, eventually following optimistic chords skyward. It's a simulacrum of that end-of-the-night moment when the music is so charged and utopic that all fatigue is forgotten. Auvinen's recognized talent to imbue machines with complex human emotion draws us into his world.

030303 strikes again with this quirky, ultra-fresh and hard to pinpoint 4-track twelve. Hills I Want You is a very rich harmonious collage of staccato rhythms, abstract vocal snippets, classic strings and piano house; twisted dance floor material. Zeroz-On, bangs it out in a static, stomping way where heavy, in your face synth sounds take turns in melody making with mid range Roland bass lines. The Broke, the first track on the flip is again manically melodic, this time in conjunction with brutally distorted beats. The EP closes with the chilled out In Sight Out which features a mix of jazzy and mind bending melodies, this time with a slightly more subdued rhythm section. We highly recommend this twelve for fans of full on melodic acid with a distant reference to the classic rave era.
