M25FM appears on Photek's instalment to the highly respected DJ Kicks compilation series, it's another acid-tinged track, taking us into much deeper territory.

After being brought to the attention of the L.I.E.S. camp almost five years ago by New York legend PorkChop (SSPS/Nation/Excepter) the goal was to release something by the mythical figure known back then as, Below Underground. As time passed from 2007 to the present PorkChop had continued to pass along the music of his friend from Chicago every time we dj'ed together. As L.I.E.S. took shape I had made contact with the artist and discussed the prospect of getting a hold of his archive of songs and releasing some of them, only to find out most of his early recordings had been lost (thankfully, due to PorkChop we recovered them).
Now transformed and known as Svengalisghost, we present three undeniably original compositions from these sessions which sit in the grey area where early house music and primitive industrial electronics met and existed on the same plain. Check out this video from the hand of director Marcus Mixx!

Dubbyman's Deep Explorer imprint comes correct with a limited edition white label 10" from Kai Alce. With roots that stretch across America, from Atlanta to New York and Detroit, Alce is tied closest, musically, to the Motor City (he was hired to do lights at the city's legendary Music Institute at the age of 16). The Willow EP positively drips with Detroit machine soul; the title track features floating synths and a subtle bassline working beneath Azulu Phantom's vocals. This leads into the excellent "Track 3", which features some raw, brittle drums, soulful moans and an unforgettably deep bass line. Flip over for the acid-tinged Deep Explorer remix of the title track, which takes the original and spans it out over an entire side of wax with subtly hypnotic results.

to celebrate his MOS Deep sub label reaching its tenth release, boss man Aroy Dee has teamed up in the studio with Ma Spaventi for the label's next release, namely a split 10' featuring two tracks: 'Wrecking' and 'Mr. Floyd'. First up is Amsterdam's best kept production secret aka Marco 'The Doctor' Spaventi. His 'Wrecking' is a blisteringly raw house construction with ripping synth lines, delicate hi-hats and slow, crawling kick drums building up to an incendiary, Chicago referencing peak where pinging cow bells shooting in all directions. It's a bold track designed for maximum dance-floor damage. On the flip, Aroy builds in layers. His 'Mr Floyd' is all muted synth growls, clattering percussion and blissful pads. It's a tortured deep house track that challenges you before really soothing you, but once the inner beauty is revealed; it really has you under an enchanting spell. Club Mod is a new endeavor by the Modular Recordings family. A series of 12" single releases aimed at some kind of dancefloor, Club Mod acts as one foot under the strobe and one in the future, an avenue for one-off releases with acts we've recently fallen in love with or those whom we've long time admired. It will be an eclectic, roughly monthly series in the name of dance.

The artwork for the new imprint has been lovingly created by the legendary Fergadelic. A demi-God of the graphic world, Fergadelic has created many incredible pieces of work in the last 10 years with his work for Silas, his own label Tonite, Slam City Skates, Stussy, Soulwax and Die Verboten. He's designed our 12" house bag with custom labels for each release and we're honored to be involved with him.

The 1st release is a by 120 Days, a 4 piece from Oslo who released an acclaimed self-titled record in 2006. In the time since, the band has been developing and honing a sound, the first taste of which is 'Osaka', A brooding, tribal, baggy acid beast, with remixes by Sidwho and Diskjokke which will come out on Club Mod.

Anthony Khan aka Great Weekend aka The Twilite Tone grew up in the Chi house scene, then produced Common's 1st albums. After recent releases on Do Over & Wurst Khan brings us deeper delving house tracks breaching the limits of audio norm.

VERSALIFE is a restless producer from Terschelling, Holland, who strives only to combine digital and analogue together into atmospheric, well designed pieces of music.

In 2009, DJ Kaos released "Love the Night Away," a disco dusted single that resulted in a lovely Tiedye remix which inspired countless swoons. It was followed by "Komischer Ruckenwind," wherein the Berlin-based Kaos made beauteous cosmic music (in case the title didn't give it away) and 2010's "Horny Morning Loop," a loping all-nighter of a dance cut. On the heels of those tracks - all great and wanting of repeat listens - "From Inside" feels nothing short of overdue.

Despite the post-industrial label often affixed to Factory Floor, there's a greater complexity of sound within the band's music that defies such facile descriptions. Yes, there are rigid, fixed beats, and other sounds from the manufacturing plant, as suggested by the trio's moniker. But there is also an underlying danceability that belies the seeming austerity of the sound; a hint at warmth that cuts through the permafrozen exterior. That curious balance has paid endless dividends thus far: they've been remixed by producer Gavin Russom, Liars' Angus Andrew and No Age's Dean Allen; remixed and released by Optimo; remixed and collaborated live with Throbbing Gristle legend Chris Carter; and remixed and produced (!) by Joy Division and New Order's Stephen Morris. It's been a whirlwind few years in terms of musical accolades, and Factory Floor's DFA debut is a glimpse into why.

Volta Cab has made quite an impact on the Nu Disco / Deep House scene since last year. He is a multitalented, versatile producer, performing brilliantly in a range from from Nu Disco, Deep House, Soul, Techno to Breakbeat.

The eraly years of a decade are good times for exploration, just like in 1993 when we (Alex & Sasa) first started working together. We rented a huge loft space on Ave B & 2nd St. in the East Village in Manhattan. The winter was tough, we had 16 snow storms and due to a landlord who hated everybody, we had our heating turned off except for a few hours in the morning, sometimes not even that... The only way to stay warm was to wear hats, gloves and scarves the whole winter... But that was fine because nightlife was a lot of fun. There was a good club/party every night. Right below where we lived was one of the best after hour clubs called "Save The Robots". But one of my favourite parties was "Sugar Babes" which was at the CBGB's gallery space right next door to CBGB's, every Monday night. The DJ used to sample parts of the records he was mixing and then just play the loop of the sample and alongside was a drummer playing to it. It was really inspiring.

Opening with the slowburning, Detroit-tinged swing of Veil, the flip serves up the bent out of shape jack of My Braindead Acid, while Panther's relentless late night groove rounds things off in a blurry haze.

Frank is back for another round. This time it's frank music head poncho Johannes delivering two heavy tracks for your dancefloor. We got a classic double-A side, personally stamped in a basement and limited as sunny days last summer. first there is 'rough rough raw' ... well it's rough and it's rough and it's sort of raw. dubby vocoders, 909, rave breaks, you name it! second is 'way out of sight' which got a fuzzy bassline, little trance moments for maximum party pleasure and some more dirtness in between. This is most probably slammin' muscle house for skinny jeans boys. to sum things up: basement is not a crime! Our good friend Tim says: a few days ago i listened to an old cassette from the year 2000. "roughroughraw" really contains the spirit of this time. the right tune to start taking some "e´s" again, smoking a joint and gettin´ nuts on a tiny dirty dancefloor. underground ish for sure... and same for "way out of sight" especially the first chord of that synth, which reminds me on michael jackson´s " thriller. Thank you and turn that Swagger on!
