Following their much acclaimed and loved debut album Confident Music for Confident People Confidence Man returned at the end of last year sounding like Donna Summer and Giorgio Moroder gleefully discovering house music via Dee-lite with a brand-new track Does It Make You Feel Good?

Talking about the Greg Wilson & Ché Wilson remix Confidence Man said:

“When you work with a father son duo this talented and this god damn good looking you know good things will happen. They’ve got twice the brains and a multi-generational love for bangers. Greg and Che have taken the track to outer space and left it in Jupiter’s orbit for a while it’s always nice to expand the journey.”

Moff & Tarkin's second Lagaffe installment marks the label's 8th vinyl release. The release sports three original tracks from the Austrian-based Icelander and a remix from label boss Jonbjorn.

The record starts of with the track 'Buzz Lightyear', who flies us off out of the atmosphere filled beginning into the depths of the spacey synths, delays and feedback.

Followed is the track 'Friends Be like', which feels like a refreshing strut down the boulevard where everyone you meet knows you and you know them but instead of saying hello you are wearing headphones and just strut down the street nodding, winking and walking in beat with true swagger. A track with confidence written all over it.

The flip side features the track 'Takk!' which roughly translates as Thank You! in Icelandic. Maybe not roughly, but rather exactly. The track is dramatic and starts off rather stress inducing but takes a whole new direction when Moff n Tarkin adds in soothing piano chords and makes the track's whole mood switch.

Maybe its a fitting goodbye for the listener as you make your way through label boss Jonbjorn's remix which has a very warm and feel good atmosphere, lush drums and elements that add on layers to the already great original. A very personal remix and a good ending to a great record that we hope you can enjoy.

Phonk D lands on Exploited with a takeover of their now-legendary Black Jukebox series. Serving up 4 killer dancefloor cuts, he’s got the weapons you need for the months ahead.

The supremely funky ‘Work Dance’ makes great use of dramatic horn blasts as off-beat bass pumps and stomps all over the place. Twanging guitars licks accentuate the groove further. Chunky drum fills punctuate the rhythms and tumbling congas keep things rolling as vocal cuts command you to ‘dance!’

Head directly to ‘Facelift’ for some glorious strings, cascading romantically over snappy ‘90s house vibe beats. Undulating bass perfectly complements these cute motifs, making for a track that falls somewhere between ‘sorrowful’ and ‘triumphant’ on the mood board. Throw in some glistening harp scales and you’ve got yourself a winner.

‘Never Walked Away’ is a tense stomper that focuses around a filtering soul vocal loop with some sustained strings cooked into it. The shuffling beats and relentless bass are supporting by detuned piano chords, increasing the hypnotically looping feel.

‘Get Ready’ teases with more warped piano before unleashing a loose funk b-line and dubby vocal snippets. Sweet guitar licks weave around the slinky bassline, this understated track making a deep and balmy finale for this great EP.

Hot on the heels of his archival-launch of European Carryall, Telephones delivers a brand new (or is it really?) heavy double A-side club 12". Kicking off with "Multiverse (Pacific Mix)", an energetic basement-flux of UK garage, detroit techno and balearic blessed with live zither-recordings and stardust-sprinkles by fellow countrywoman A'KARI - ensuring the zen of your late-nite spaceout. Flip wax for the the prime-time house-stomper "Turbofutúr (Atlantic Mix)", nodding it's head to the mid-90s footprint left by DJ Duke, Power Music and Strictly Rhythm.. albeit with an unmistakably Norwegian euphoric disco-fling lurking beeeehind the groove. Another essential for the true heads!

Another rare gem from Record Shack gets its first officially licensed 12” release – the absolutely killer early ‘80s jazz funk tinged, boogie bomb from The Oceans – ‘Bad Guy, Good Guy’, fully remastered for maximum audio pleasure.

With the release only ever being a whitelabel there was much confusion over the correct titling due to the stamp simply stating ‘Pacific Dream’, however the actual track titles are those housed on this release - ‘Bad Guy, Good Guy’ and the instrumental ‘Synth Good Guy’.

Those original whitelabels command prices of up to £120 and it’s no surprise when you hear those infectious guitar riffs blended with buoyant synth flurries and sensuous vocal harmonies. For those that would rather leave the vocals at bay, the B side houses the instrumental mix in all it's glory.

A radiant release that still sparkles as bright as it did back in 1980 – an essential buy!

Bartellow has long been associated with the ESP Institute though Tambien, a trio formed alongside Bavarian cohorts Marvin and Valentino, who have released seminal dancefloor material over recent years. With his debut album Panokorama, we are invited into a completely different world of Bartellow's creation—a place where influences become a melting pot of mood, nuance and texture, and where instrumentation is abstracted from a variety of cultures, including those that exist solely within his imagination. Bartellow has found a way to merge Primitivism with Retrofuturism, identifying their point of intersection and reveling in their union across ten songs. While his academic background as a Jazz musician certainly informs both his progressive approach to composition and non-linear production, it is his obsession with electronics and synthesis that shape his current musical climate. The title Panokorama stems from Bartellow's visualization of the album, a surreal landscape with a foreign presence centrally embedded, a 'panorama' punctuated by a 'ko'—although a hybrid word that reads as nonsense, it somehow feels and sounds just right.

Justin Strauss and Max Pask have joined up to form the new project Each Other, who will release their self-titled debut EP ‘Be Nice To Each Other’ on February 7th, 2020 via Soulwax/2manydjs label DEEWEE. While Strauss and Pask have DJ’d together on numerous occasions, this is the first time that they’ve collaborated on a production project.

The EP finds Each Other creating an eclectic range of sounds in the space of just three tracks. The opener ‘Same As It Never Was’ is the most immediate of the set, becoming more hypnotic as the minimalist topline buries itself into your subconscious. The downtempo ‘Burn It Down’ then darkens the mood, feeling closer to a dystopian sci-fi soundtrack than an underground club classic, before the playful and progressive ‘Six Weeks’ up the energy with jittering beats, sparkling synths and a cooly understated vocal.

“What we were trying to do and what we’ve hopefully achieved was to merge our influences with a nod to what many consider to be the ‘golden age’ of New York,” explains Justin Strauss. “You don’t realise that these periods were becoming important markers in history when we were living through them. It only comes later with the added benefit of time. I hope that in years to come, history will find a place for what we’re doing now” - Each Other.

As with all DEEWEE releases, ‘Be Nice To Each Other’ was recorded produced and mixed at DEEWEE.

As we descend into winter and the end of 2019, an EP that, like the shorter, overcast days, is chilly and stark, yet accented with rays of sun that crack through the clouds, glints of starlight, full-moon rises.

These five tracks—six for the digital version—come from Eluize, a Berlin-based Australian gifted at simmering minimal yet acerbic house potions over low heat, patiently coaxing them to a slow boil. Mischievous, creeping concoctions that approach and build sneakily, as layer upon layer is looped, expanded, condensed, dropped out, and slid back in. Each is a beautifully musical piece, too, with as much evolving melody as hypnotizing groove.

An LPH soundtrack for nights that stretch on forever, lit only by blinking lights that break apart seas of heavy fog and slice between silhouetted bodies.

Inviting slow disco and spaced out ambient characterizes this new material from Golden Bug and In Fields on their collaboration-album ”Vibration Métallique”. Golden Bugs kind of extrovert and electronic sound is recognizable from his previous 7” release on Höga Nord Rekords and together with In Fields it gets dressed in a fluffier costume.

This album is the result of two persons with tons of respect for one another musically, two musicians who have been floating past and sometimes in two each others projects for the last couple of years. Their musical roots In ”Leftfield land” intertwine and reaches up above ground, connecting to different musical stems and holds together the sound; like sightseeing in a familiar town this album has outer limits but as unpredictable as the city can be, this record surprises you from one track to the other.

The album has a springtime feel to it in all it's brightness, but suddenly it shifts shape in a song like ”Lush”, picked straight from the factory floor. This album is both a standoff and a board meeting in electronic music. Golden Bugs metallic excentricity meeting with In Fields darkness and live feel creates an unpredictability and the music goes on an exploratory trip far away!

Rune's ever dependable Drum Island return for a new decade with a life-affirming celebration of the sunset moments which underpin his always excellent output.
Hierbas has been causing euphoric dancefloor moments for a handful of selectors for over a year, but it's now - as the nights bristle with cold air - that we receive this warming hug of a track, a brief window into the promise of summer, the freedom of letting loose outdoors, and then basking in the glow of love with the celebratory chug of 'Mina Musica' and transcendent 'San Augustin'

Digging in the vaults for those lesser spotted gems, the PBR crew have tweaked up 2 absolute Tom Moulton related killers here for our enjoyment. Side A is a finely tuned, lovingly fondled version of David Christie's LP cut 'Back Fire' from 1978. A sleazy, almost Euro feeling good timer that does the biz. On the flip, is the Destroyers mammoth 'Lectric Love', another lowdown cruiser of a track, nice cosmic FX and leather vibes for the late night prowl! Both edits are brilliantly done, and with a knowing and respectful nod too, one for the heads right here.

DJ friendly dancefloor disco cuts from the Redux Inc collective. Deft edit wizardry giving a modern touch to this gem with a double dose of mixes - the 'Full Vocal Club Mix' on one side and the 'Dubbed Out Voxapella Mix' on the flip.

Suha's "Hora EP" consists of organic bodies composed by an electronic mind.
On his first release on The Magic Movement, the emerging electronic musician from Istanbul imagines a three-track story: The mythical figures - Hermes and Hezarfen - are in search of a unified space named Hora above variant timelines.

Under the arabesque shadow of occidental chords and oriental strings, the EPs multi-layered tracks take you on a cosmic flight: Folkloric dance elements build up progressively over a driving rhythm while Suha's ethereal vocals flow alongside old chants. Massive brass and gritty 70's synths accompany ancestral lyrics that herald of unknown realities soon to be realised.

The EP is produced and mixed by label head-honcho Noema, whose magical touch reflects through well-thought arrangements of Suha's compositions and their powerful sound.

After the soft landing of Banoffee Pies Records latest sub label venture OTAKU, the imprint continues following the theme of subtle compositions with the second edition, this time from Swedish born Vilhelm with 'Mermaid Porn'. A five tracker starting with an aquatic feeling on the title track 'Mermaid Porn' with bubbling effects rolling into the A2. entitled 'Kirchner' with more with positive and patient melodies. Standing to attention in the spaceships cafeteria, the A side comes to a close with 'Always In Costume'. The B side opens with 'Saturday Bossa' - drums inspired by the Brazilian music wave of Bossa Jazz with a slight twist. The first release on the newly established Greyhound Days imprint comes from Christian Kroupa alias Alleged Witches, hailing from Slovenia, who proved his skills and innovation as a participant at the Red Bull Music Academy in 2014. Since then he became one of the most prominent names of Slovenia's techno and house scene, with making appearance on the mighty Fabric mix compilation, producing a remix of Alex Smoke for legendary Belgian label R&S, while also releasing a 12" entitled Serve The Spirits on R&S sub-label Meda Fury.»One Skilled In The Black Arts« EP consists of four tracks, meant for dictating the dance floor with their drum workout, as well as luring you into its deep ritualistic feel, with distant native tongues echo.For an extra wonderful hypnotic polyrhytms, a rework has been provided by Passarani, one of the Italian leading dance music producers and DJs, who continues to be an inspiration and providing his knowledge and skills to younger generations. While Bristol based Jacob Martin alias Hodge demonstrated his expertise in percussion, resulting in an slamming rework, not meant for the faint-hearted. Just shows, why Hodge is one of Bristol's most exciting new names.

Twenty years on the heels of their debut with 1999, established cornerstone of the French touch, the duo Philippe ‘Zdar’ Cerboneschi and Hubert ‘Boom Bass’ Blanc-Francard announce their fifth opus Dreems. This album will bring Cassius back to his original house, the one that has always fed their energetic DJ's sets, but was a few faded lately behind the sophisticated pop of previous albums.

Back to basics, then, both in the design and influences, they worked during long sessions spent at the Motorbass’ studio, where the disc was largely imagined. A magical place causing an organic heat into the sound power (with a new subtlety that the initiates will appreciate, the use of a Korg synthesizer, last acquisition of Zdar and Boom Bass).

Velvet Season & The Hearts Of Gold remix 'Computer Controlled', one of the stand out tracks from the album. The Velvet Season duo of Joel Martin and Gerry Mooney have some serious musical pedigree between them, with Joel also recording as Quiet Village alongside Radioslave and Gerry previously working with DJ Harvey on his infamous Black Cock releases.
Their three 12" releases to date on their own Lucky Hole label all sold out instantly resulting in the inevitable Discogs frenzy. The remix of 'Computer Controlled' is a timeless piece of melancholic house with a Chi Town bassline topped off with Trumpet, Keys and the mesmerising melody from the original. An undoubted future classic!
On the flip the Midnight Special rework 'Beat On The Drum'. Midnight Special have released two Vinyl Only 12" to date and are made up of Ex-Peace Division man Justin Drake and Tsuba boss Kevin Griffiths. The resulting mix is groove heavy underground house made with the panache & depth you would expect from the veterans of the UK house scene.

'Use Your imagination' by 'blue-eyed' Funky rock combo Kokomo is a deep cut from the pre-Disco era of 1975. A time when uptempo R&B and Rock records like this were de rigueur with DJ's and dancers on the dancefloor's of clubs across NYC and all major cities where 'proper' dance music was appreciated and taken seriously. The years leading up to the Disco boom blessed us with some fantastic records like this that carried over into that late 70's era, 'classics' that still got love from the DJ's and were sequenced alongside the hits and anthems of the day. Featuring members of Joe Cocker's Grease Band, Kokomo had a few hits and were widely known, 'Use Your imagination' though, was their nightclub classic, a breezy, jazzy and funky jam that rolls just right and is incredibly rare and sought after on promo 12". Backed here with an exclusive unreleased edit on the flip you know this is an essential if you're a true Disco-head! This repress of the original Columbia promo from 1975 is backed with a brand new re-edit from one of NYC's Disco kings - Mr.K aka Danny Krivit. With almost half a century spent behind the turntables in NYC and beyond he surely understands records like 'Use Your Imagination' intrinsically, he was, after all, there when it all happened! This classic has been legally reissued by Above Board distribution in conjunction with the legal rights holders - Sony Music Entertainment. This high quality repress features original white label Columbia label Disco 12" artwork and has been remastered from Sony's original sources by Optimum Mastering, Bristol UK.

Melvo Baptiste steps up to mix his second Glitterbox compilation, 'Pump The Boogie!', featuring the upfront disco heat that has been setting off the dancefloor all summer at Glitterbox parties in New York, Amsterdam, London and Ibiza. A contender for the hottest party on earth, this Glitterbox season saw record numbers through the doors at Hï Ibiza, with Melvo himself playing his first headline sets in the club's main room, the Theatre. 'Pump The Boogie!' reflects the sounds of the Theatre, moving from the joyful 80s and 90s sounds of The Emotions 'Turn It Out' and Kathy Brown 'I Appreciate' through modernised classics like Sister Sledge 'Got To Love Somebody' remixed for 2018 by disco maestro Dimitri From Paris. More so than ever this edition has a heavy focus on the latest upbeat dancefloor killers from the last 12 months, like Selace 'So Hooked On Your Lovin'' (Mousse T.'s Extended Disco Shizzle) and Gershon Jackson presents Reset Preset 'Hands Together' (House of Omni Hands Together Extended Club Mix), the exceptional new release from the Glitterbox imprint.

Demonstrating what Glitterbox does best, 'Pump The Boogie!' explores authentic dance music enhanced by live instrumentation. Mighty Mouse 'The Spirit', another Glitterbox release, uses percussion and brass blasts to build energy, DJ Mes 'Da Change' (Miguel Migs Salty Rub) carries a captivating guitar hook and Paradise Express 'Dance' (Special 12' Disco Mix) features the unmistakeable backing of a full disco band. The album's namesake 'Pump The Boogie' (Basstoy Boogie Mix) by Mark Picchiotti goes full throttle with chest-pounding groove, strings and earworm vocal. Melvo's 'Pump The Boogie!' beckons you to the dancefloor once again with a truly stomping, timeless compilation.

The second volume from the “all eighties everything” North of Loreto reedits series sets it off with a 1983 Italian release, a perfect balance of Italo Disco and US boogie influences, with original production by Claudio Donato; this NoLo edit brings out the track’s soulful side and keeps the instrumental grooves alive bouncing back and forth from the two OG 12” versions.

On the B-side we find a massive European banger from the classic “Genie” album, the last effort from the infamous and illustrious BB&Q Band; Bassi re-edits the track in pure 80s megamix flavor, with lots of chops, reverse effects and exteded loops from the original dance version.

The last cut is a Don Was production with drum machine hits and hypnotic balearic grooves that leads us to an uncertain but fascinating territory. This exclusive version is super-extended and keeps the dub vibes throughout its lenght, slow but groovy as hell!

Another classic from Dutch 'High Fashion Music' in it's original High Fashion 1982 sleeve. Original released on the Musix Records imprint in 1982, produced by legendary Italian producer Maurizio 'Sangy' Sangineto. (Change, Armed Gang, Firefly).

Including a New Mix by Dino Soccio from LA (for his Pleasure of Love release) and re-worked by Dutch producer Orson Welsh: giving this Italo-sound classic a more powerful touch. On the B-side is the original version of 1982 , as well as the much sought-after 'Soul Version'!

Following the success of last years reissue of Vox Populi!'s Aither, Emotional Rescue returns to the French / Persian band with the first of two albums selected from their considerable archive. First, their experiments between 1984 and 1989 in what are essentially pre-Aither sessions, Magiques Creations is in essence, an album of the imagination. Self-labeled as an ethno-industrial project, Vox Populi!'s recordings act as a document of the bridge between their earlier industrial influenced output through to a more cerebral, ethnic oeuvre. The collection highlights the movement through 1985's Myscitismes and 1987's Half Dead Ganja Music towards Aither, with a darker, edgier sound mixed with increasingly lighter, ethereal touches.
On pieces like Joue Joue, Miss October and Ankaboot the synergy is apparent. Mithra's vocals align with organ and synthesiser to set gothic-noir scenes, while the heavy kick of Tchi Tchi Vox and Jube Man, with sax and distortion clearly pre-dating Aither, propel to the more experimental DJs. Against this Nazareman, Bedroud and Deltangui explore the increasily ethno side of the band. As the album unfolds however, it's not about single pieces, but a cohesive whole and the process and flow. Ethnic influences float around rhythm box, as hand percussion, guitar, tar and tapes warm the mind and lilting vocals seep inside. The collective nature of the band's recording is witnessed, but the pieces work together perfectly. The process of making music, constantly evolving a sound of their own has left a trove of music to examine. Working closely with Axel and Mithra some thirty years later brings out it's own vibrations.

Phunkadelica are back to Multinotes with the long awaited first single "Pensiero Stupendo" taken from their forthcoming first album "Phunk Ad Elica". Based on a infectious vocal hook, Pensiero Stupendo, is a slow tempo tune combining strong cosmic layers and balearic rhythms. On top of the original mix we also added a winner remix by Musumeci which created a pleaser for the peaktime moments. The package is completed by the sexy "Phunkadelicatamente" (for those who like it funky discoish) and by the vinyl only “Init”.

Deep in India Volume 6 is probably the most intense release by live electronic artist & Indian disco edit king Todh Teri. It's a definite milestone in his ongoing endeavour of releasing and (most importantly) representing mysterious disco & house edits - from the Indian silver screen - on vinyl. He immediately gets down to business with Sampadan 18 as it swoons you down to disco town, providing you quintessential 80s thunder & lightning for competitive street dancing.

In Sampadan 19, he passes the remix baton to AAGUU (his first release), who further intensifies the dance off with a trippy arpeggiator induced frenzy. Sampadan 20 is a must have house tool to instantly ignite peak moments on the dancefloor, with it's gliding riffs, South Indian disco chants, & epic instrumental crescendos.
And finally, Sampadan 21 rounds off the energy with a cumbia tinged acid rework - straightfrom the Bollywood silver screen of the 60s.

So this fall & winter, if you are looking for some disco wool ... Todh Teri will get your recordbags full.

Señor Gordon is back on Quintessentials! Colombia’s number 1 when it comes to freaky house music delivers the goods again. Felipe Gordon has this incredible talent to mix so many different sounds and samples to create his unique style. Funky pianos (or should we say sick ass chords!), wobbling basslines, jazzy samples, disco and funk influences all combined together to make the “Felipe Gordon house sound”. Sometimes more punchy like “Sick ass chords” and “The quint garage”, sometimes more relaxed like “Girl, u don’t know…” and “For those who…”, but you just hear it’s FG from B in C!

One year after its release, Quartet Series proudly presents the remix EP of Nachtbraker's successful debut album When You Find a Stranger in the Alps. A collection of remixes by some serious talent. Humble Danish maestro Central (Help, Dekmantel) flips "Flambo" into a Jori Hulkkonen'esque summer anthem with a highly addictive bassline. Preacher of wonkiness Frits Wentink (Wolf, Heist, Bobby Donny) took "LOL" and brought it some serious keys on a solid breakbeat while maintaining its jolly character. Flipping the record, Nachtbraker brings us the evolution of "Just Doing My Thang" turning it into a quirky dance floor tune whilst also showcasing his ear for detail. Up and coming talent Nemo Vachez (Forest Ill, Opia Records, Rakya) dives deep into "Horsepony" as if he's cruising the depths of a rainforest in a submarine. Joshua James continues a run of infectious singles on Phantasy with a brooding, dreamlike turn into the night on ‘Marlene’, accompanied by two contrasting remixes from Swiss master, Deetron.

Beginning with the timeless texture of joyous, eighties NYC house, ‘Marlene’ soon introduces an inquisitive vocal sample, as an elegant conversation explores love and tolerance. Nonetheless, leaving little time for chin stroking, the track instead cautiously circles the pleasure at the epicentre of the dancefloor, venturing into more introspective, late-night territory, culminating in an unexpected and cathartic release of psychedelic electro. Reflecting the energy and imagination of his weekly residency at XOYO, James delivers a sophisticated, queer take on contemporary house that pays off in sheer bliss.

With a cemented reputation as one of the world’s most intuitive and imaginative remixers, Deetron carefully rebuilds 'Marlene' twice over. On his initial remix, he adopts a shuffling 4/4 bass weight, zoning in on an unintelligible snippet of the track’s sample, creating slowly escalating, sweat-inducing club pressure. Suddenly, fluttering keys and deep chords send us into a deeper direction, from the rave to the lounge and back again. Meanwhile, the Filter Dub is tailor-made and tested for after-hours selectors with a thirst for the esoteric.

'Secretsundaze' are proud to unleash the first release of a new re-edit series. The duo of 'James Priestley' & 'Giles Smith' offer up their own version of something close to their hearts whilst inviting some of their favourite artists to present a re-work of their choice.

For the first in the series, Secretsundaze head into deep, cosmic, spiritual territory reworking a version of Ghana Nila.
Emanating from a Californian ashram towards the end of 2000's and never released on vinyl before, this heavily percussive, jazz organ, powerful choir and lead vocal number gets a subtle, positive, respectful and uplifting rework with just enough oomph for the floor.

NYC's Ge-ology steps up to re-flip a late-70's infectious uptempo party starting disco groover. Killing heavy flute soloing, sick strings and good times vocals get the Geo extended intro and DJ-friendly workout, as only he knows how.

London's very own Jazz-Funk superstars Jamiroquai land themselves under Dim's gaze this time around with 2 brand new and absolutely stellar reworkings of their top 10 1996 hit 'Cosmic Girl', bringing us a beautiful extended Disco mix backed with a sumptuous dub version. A truly incredible record in it's own right, Dimitri has excelled in pushing 'Cosmic Girl' into the stratosphere even further with these beautifully executed Disco versions. As always, unfettered access to the master tapes, and with a deep deep understanding and reverence for the source material, these mixes are something totally fresh and exciting. Perhaps not the most obvious choice for a remix or an edit, Jamiroquai made no qualms about their allegiance to the Funk, the Soul, the Disco and the Jazz in their lives, which in turn naturally fed into their musical output. Upon listening to the groups output one can certainly hear the spirits of the Mizzell Brothers, of Gil Scott-Heron, Chic, Donald Byrd and many others, all filtered via Jay Kay and his group's unique approach. This is something Dimitri understands very well and it shines through in these wondrous reworks. Yet another stunning benchmark in a career spanning almost 3 decades, these latest offerings from the DFP lab rightfully place Dimitri up there with the best of the best - we're sure you'd all agree that Le Edits still brings a little chic to the music effortlessly!
