Sixth in the series: Shake Tapes is an outlet for Dan Shake's private stash of DJ friendly cuts, exploring all corners of the globe.

Killer 1986 House Remixes of two classic WBMX Italo-Disco songs by Kasso mixed by the godfather : Frankie Knuckles plus the house mix by Brett Wilcots of Walkman on the flip. Essential record!

Furious Frank returns to Butter Sessions with 'Ahora Sí'. The fully fledged house anthem is the result of a cross-continental collaboration with Barcelona based vocalist and producer Ivy Barkakati.

We're treated to four versions of 'Ahora Sí', all tested and ready for the dance floor and those special moments! Kicking it off, Frank delivers his "Original Acid Mix". A deep, squelchy lurker with nods to late 80's and 90's house music, peaking with thick piano chords and Barkakati's deep Spanish vocals. On the 'Sunrise' mix, the piano and chords become the focus and set the mood for an uplifting journey, bolstered by the raw thump and jack of the drum machines.

The flip side see's Barcelona based "IVAN" emerge with their version. The duo made up of Ivy Barkakati and Phran of Klasse Wrecks fame slow things down a touch, mangle the chords and inject the rhythm with flattering top-drawer percussion. Vancouver native D. Tiffany rounds the EP off with sub-heavy bass drops, hi-tek rhythms, euphoric vocal slithers and more stingin' acidic vibes.

Pure and infectious house music for real people!

Bridging the Italian house tradition with a touch of modern funk, Davide Santandrea, better known as Rame, and the brothers Riccardo and Francesco Cardelli, are making a name for themselves nowadays under the Capofortuna moniker.

Mixing different experiences and backgrounds, Capofortuna channels the Italo-disco / Italian house tradition driving it towards a contemporary musical horizon made up of relentless, warm and seductive grooves performed live with instruments and analog hardware. "timeless interstellar funk, without gravity, without compromise”, this is the essence of their sound.

Capofortuna debuts on Cognitiva Records with the ‘Rising Grace EP’ that includes Three original plus a remix by Leo Mas & Fabrice. First track on A side, Just Chilling, refers to the “Chicago’s old school house”, Roland TR707 for the rhythm part, massive bass, electric piano solos merge with pads and ethereal chords, a journey!

Bouncing for the love of bouncing is a huge slice of funk fueled Italo. Sporting to monster bassline some great synths and superb leads. On the B side we find Rising Grace, the track that gives the title to the EP, overwhelming kick and bass, hypnotic afro percussions, close your eyes and you'll find yourself floating in a jungle.

The remix of Rising Grace by Leo Mas & Fabrice complete the EP. The original version is reworked giving a magical "Italo House touch” typical of their 90s productions. This is a track which it is impossible to sit still too.

Legendary DJ's Hans Nieswandt and Eric D. Clark team up and boldly declare: let there be protest disco. And here it is: „Work Work Work” and „No More Hatin’ & Trashin’“, with original versions by the two Whirlpool Productions heads, plus hot remixes by Marcel Vogel and Phonk D. Four tracks of positive power for the people!

180-gram vinyl record, limited
Label devoted to old school house music. Every release will have an original version and one or more remixes coming from the artists that made our life worth living in the last 30 years. House music is our religion. We are not interested in hype. We are not interested in becoming famous. We are not interested in djing worldwide. There won't be any repress since we are not interested in making money. We'll release music for personal pleasure only if it' ll satisfy our minimum quality standard. Finally, we won't release any digital download, 'cause we didn't grow-up listening to music that we couldn't touch.

The first volume in an ongoing series compiled by Butter Sessions & Noise In My Head, Domestic Documents surveys independent artists who are living and producing Electronic abstraction in Australia Far from a complete guide to the country's burgeoning scene, the 2LP set presents a cross-section of wide ranging sounds and ideas, travelling the endless highways between Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne & Adelaide as well as regional towns, Ballarat and Keyneton.
Featuring exclusive tracks from Daze, Mic Mills, Albrecht La'Brooy, Lucy Cliche and more, the comp also marks the first vinyl outing for newcomers Chiara Kickdrum, Ben keynes & a fresh Dan White / Ryan Hunter collaboration Turner Street Sound. Stay tuned for Volume 2, coming late 2016 !

Absolute killer official reissue from the legendary and sort after album "In Need Of..." Breathtaking vocal, emotionally rich and a melody to seduce any dancefloor. I adore this record with all of my heart.

Cinthie joins the roster of Aus Music this November with her 'Trust' EP, comprising three original cuts from the Berlin artist. Founder of several imprints, namely Beste Modus, we_r_house and 803 Crystalgrooves, as well as her own label collective and record store brand Elevate, native Berliner Cinthie has become a highly respected figure in electronic music in her hometown and across the globe over the past few years. Most notably known for her long standing as a DJ primarily, yet recent months have seen Cinthie build her own studio and dedicate much of her time to carefully crafting the music she's always longed to. This new EP for Will Saul's Aus Music is a product of this time spent and marks the next phase for Cinthie's productions. Title-track 'Trust' leads on the package, fuelled by an infectious marimba style percussive melody, bright tension building strings and a bumpy bass hook whilst crunchy drums and a spellbinding arpeggio leads further fuels the emotive, subtly blooming feel. 'Lost At Sea' follows next, employing a loosely flowing organic drum groove, jazzy Rhodes chords and resonant moog style synth licks to create yet another classy twist on contemporary house music. 'Hip Swing' then rounds out the package on a deeper tip with heavily swung, up-tempo drums at the forefront whilst murky bass reverberations, choppy stabs and ethereal pads subtly ebb and flow in the depths.

Like a bolt from the blue comes this track by Daughters & Sons. An afternoon of fun in the studio with Stefano Giordani and his nylon guitar has needed, to give life to this little masterpiece, perhaps a secret weapon for the summer of 2014. A solar track, enjoyable and danceable, which is already a modern classic.

SHELVED RECORDINGS 2.2

The second part of the two part set from SHELVED RECORDINGS !

Returning to a brief but very fruitful period in electronic music production, Shelved Recordings exists to look back to the golden age of the remix, with a clear view of the future it imagined.

Artists who were steered towards maverick producers, with a view to changing the rules, to re-defining the terms of what modern music should and could be.
Pioneering techniques, over-dubs and an exploratory period of pop production, resulted in many lost dub versions and mixes. Mixes, which invariably were left on the shelf, deemed too 'out there' by the bosses of the the hedonistic label managers who commissioned them.

Carefully reconstructed and rebuilt lost classics from someone who was there the first time around !

One limited vinyl press only

The title says it all about the latest release on Budabeats Records:
The Southern Hemisphere EP features 4 tracks inspired by the immensely rich and diverse musical tradition that South America and Africa offers.

Beginning with a slick edit of Letta Mbulu's now classic tune 'Nomalizo', London based producer Petko Turned respectfully reconstructed the track, focusing on the elements that work best on the dancefloor.
In 'Pontos das Caboclas', BeTe (a.k.a. Suhov) created a laid back yet driving atmosphere, using the main patterns and the beautiful vocals of the original song as written by Camila Costa.
In his remix, Chillum Trio added his trademark sound to the Ebo Taylor classic 'Odofo Nyi Akyiri Biara', the result is a slow burning, bass heavy house number taking the original to a completely new level.

Closing the EP is the Birdhouse collective's original composition, 'Berimbao', a catchy contemporary cumbia tune that any combo in Bogota could be proud of.

All titles have been licensed carefully, it makes us beyond proud to be able to say that the Southern Hemisphere EP has the full support of the original artists.

Regularfantasy and Void Mirror met up at the Dance Music Workshop in beautiful Victoria, B.C. during the dog days of summer to track down the house. The music here represents some of the results: melted italo, evergreen synths, and shining energy.

EDIT & DUB #10 share a private stash of disco boogie & garage jams. DR. SUPERMAN's 1979 rap track "CAN YOU DUB IT" in an instrumental form is a welcome find, along with the super rare & sought after cuts "TIED UP IN LOVE" by IYICJKO and LEE ALFRED's "ROCKIN-POPPIN FULL TILTING"

Massive Birth bounces on slapped bass, Mod Jazz organ grind, and tumbling percussion. Wielding guitars that cut a Psyche edge. Mind Fair`s remix tames and tinkers with the hand-drums, and focuses on that b-line. Emphasizing its Post-Punk-Funk groove. Sky Dump is Afro Cosmic Prog Rock (think Alan Parsons or Skyy) pushed through Italo machines.

Talorypo pits 80s Pop marimba against a buzzing bionic bass-line. The resulting bubbling, fidgeting Electric Ethno fusion is given a more Industrial bashing by The Warehouse Preservation Society. Step-by-step, hitting a Bobby Orlando / Morroder-on-Mogadon chug.

A Woozy, Pulsing Jam, Equal Parts Of Nervous Energy And Stoned Groove - 'shrubs' Immediately Received A Cosign From Paris' Les Yeux Orange And Made Its Way Into A Highly Respectable Group Of Djs Sets. Andrew Weatherall Has Since Taken Things A Big Step Further And Reworked 'shrubs' Into A Sprawling 8 Minute Journey Of His Own, Backed By Live Drums And Deep Sub-bass While Donald Dust's 'other Thumper' Ups The Energy With Playful Nyc Post-disco Style And Psychedelic Percussion.

Fresh of their most busy year actively djing in Milan and across Europe, Ayce Bio, Turenne and Borbo are ready to launch a new Ep: One track each + a Remix by Bologna's finest producer and vinyl collector DJ Rou.

The collective is the real strength behind the newborn record label, collaborating with a lot of local producers they're always working on new things, in the next few months they are going to release also a various and other two eps.

Just like a humble neighbourhood taqueria, a bastion of comfort and deliciousness, Jacques Renault serves up two very tasty items.

Dynamic and fiery on one side and smooth and tangy on the other.
Both wonderful dribbled over just about anything.

Glitterbox are proud to announce the first of two new singles from Horse Meat Disco and founding member of Sister Sledge, Kathy Sledge. Co-produced by Classic Music Company boss Luke Solomon, the nightlife champions have finessed their unstoppable strutting disco style with ‘Falling Deep In Love’, perfectly representing the Glitterbox sound at its freshest on this 12” release, offering a sublime preview to their forthcoming album. Sledge’s unmistakable soulful vocals paired with the impeccable production and live instrumentation give this record that classic disco sound reminiscent of some of Sister Sledge’s classics. On the flip Joey Negro delivers his funk-laden Disco Blend, with the house master demonstrating his spotless knowledge of the genres to create a cut destined to light up Glitterbox dancefloors and beyond.

When the past and the future collide, unexpected things can happen. And when we have music at the core and such talent providing the raw materials being the vector for this encounter is a privilege we like to gloat. Carioca avant-gardiste Guerrinha's Repetentes 2008 is a project that is close to our hearts and minds through its rare ability to convey deep nostalgia in a playful futuristic way, renovating a tradition that is the quintessence of their hometown's musical heritage with a zest for jest. Exactly what the offer here in two irresistible grooves that, while maintaining the clarity of references they lie upon, refresh them in a joyful way: 'Missão Misturebar' and 'Judas Preist'. The flipside 'Gelo Geronimo' takes us across a similar path, but intensifies the emotional element and desnifies the rhythmic components to deliver the kind of track that only a master of French alchemy such as Gilb'r could transmutate by subverting its principles in a somewhat darker take. How about that for science

In the world of disco edits The Patchouli Brothers are as in demand as you can possibly be right now.

Their edits and reworks are played and hyped by all the major players in the game and now they got a two-part release on GAMM.
On the first EP we begin with All Good Things, a looped up disco nugget aimed straight for the peak hour...decent!
On the B, we get more organic with a proper feel-good disco thang in classic Patchouli style.

Royal Athlete Records are back with another set of party bombs, lovingly curated to achieve maximum perspiration. Heading up side A is 'Dreamers' by UK's Chaconne. A certified disco-piano-banger, recalling 80s NYC hedonism and emotion. (The Real) Kent Clark, who so far has only one release on Bordello's Riviera Disco series follows up with an electro-boogie dub workout entitled 'Make It Right'. Our man in Holland: Aux Tha Masterfader, takes us back to the old-school with the LinnDrum breakdance beast, 'Let's Dance To The Beat'... He commands, we obey. Closing up is Dilemma, who recalls the memory of the early days of Belgium's debauched nightlife with searing leads and low-motion grooves in 'Bocca Nights'. All tracks mastered by Alek Stark.

Originally released in October on Eskimo Recordings, Paresse's 'Sloth Machine' EP won the Swedish producer a legion of new fans attracted to its mix of cosmic disco, balearic house and elegant, emotional electronica. Hailed by Clash Magazine as recalling "everyone from early Eno - think 'The Big Ship' - to Giorgio Moroder" the EP quickly worked its way into sets of DJs such as Moscoman, Marvin & Guy, Phillipi y Rodrigo, Yuksek, Justin Robertson, Rob da Bank, The Aston Shuffle and many more. With the throbbing Italo-disco inspired 'Temple' proving to be especially popular with DJs Eskimo have pressed the track onto a limited edition 12", alongside a brand new remix from hotly tipped Russian brothers Simple Symmetry (Disco Halal/Multi Culti). Wisely opting to retain much of the feel of the original, Sasha and Sergey have instead gently pushed the tempo, toughened up the drums with a new focus on the track's percussive elements and added a greater depth of space, providing even more room to lose yourself on the dancefloor amongst the track's eerie synths and wordless chants.

PDD are proud to present an official Sony reissue of Charles Earland's 'Coming To You Live' another one of those rare infectious 12" releases which has grown in stature over the years. Championed by big names such as Gilles Peterson, Theo Parrish and Moodymann, it has become a firm favourite with dj's and clubbers alike, entertaining many discerning dance-floors.

PLEASE NOTE - REPRESS IS IN PLAIN SLEEVE !!!
Cuthead have, over the last few years released all kinds of gritty house and hip hop beats but normally through his friends over at Uncanny Valley. We're now overjoyed to offer you his first EP on Local Talk and honestly, it's everything we could've hoped for.
Spread out over four tracks you get a real dirty basement jam (Fuck That Shit), a sample friendly house nugget (Get Down) and a melodic 4/4 tune that sounds like if Cuthead and our old friend HNNY hooked up in the studio together
It got that lil' sweet twist we all love! To round off the EP we also included something extra special for the beat heads, a jazzy instrumental hip hop number (What Can I Say). A pretty good debut on Local Talk if you ask us

Marvin & Guy are making waves worldwide for their signature sound and it is an absolute pleasure to welcome them to Kognitiv Records. The boys have delivered a gem of a remix suitable for all occasions. Not only is it a great track to listen to in your day to day life, their remix tears the roof off a dance floor. The Home Taping label return with a highly accomplished release by London based producer Duff Disco. Already known for the eclectic nature of his work, Duff Disco moves it around effortlessly on this EP from the raw and underground sounds of 'Feed The Horse' to the more classic Motor City influenced vibes of 'The Heat' and finishes it off in some style with the chunky Beatdown beats of 'You And Nothing Else'.

DJ Pope from Chicago has remixed Love Thang by Iconic Salsoul Records girl group First Choice. Lead singer Rochelle Flemming is still touring internationally and singing the groups classics that have stood the test of time, Love Thang being one of them.

DJ Pope has made a mark in the soulful house scene and brings his skills to this record for release on Salsoul Records. Featuring funky saxophones, the remix offers a contemporary, progressive take on the original that is sure to get dancefloors moving this summer.

Way back then Home Taping dropped a release by an anonymous act called Klic that turned out to be another moniker for a Medlar production. Now the imprint re-launch the original alongside a couple of mighty remixes by the Tuff City Kids - in both Acid and Garage modes - plus an extension and rework of the original vibes by Dicky Trisco that pushes the proper Deep House meets Disco button. All the remixes sit nice and proud alongside the still shining brilliance of the original cut.

On their latest release, The Magic Movement presents a concept EP by Luca Musto, in which he reflects on the story of his provenance.

Dipped in blues and marinated in Jazz, this release is a diverse journey in all the ways: 'Once Upon A Grind' kicks off with a reflection of his father's immigration from Italy to Germany.
The strong groove of this moody gem reveals Luca's roots in Hip Hop, making heads nod without any trouble. Next up is 'Parabel', a hypnotic slow-house jam, with rich textures and alluring vocals which tells of new adventures on the road.

'Let Me Down' opens the B side with dense soundscapes, sprinkled with dreamy synths and strings, while Iorie closes the curtain with a dubby and stripped down remix of the track on B2. "Be Water he said, this state is tremendous."

Just when we thought 01 might have been a one-hit wonder, the mysterious MUTABLE crew emailed to let us know 02 was on press ! We can only assume they're channeling secret knowledge from the spirit world to unearth these devastating jams...
No info to be had, other than a cleverly plotted out Ouija of the label name, some very fetching old school yellow master bag sleeves & four incredible cuts of secret origin via the mystifying oracle that is Mutable...

Mytron & Ofofo return to Multi Culti with 6 hookfilled jams. Patchoulipower coming out your bassbins. Mushroomfriendly party music of the highest order. After recent outings on Les Yeux Orange and RazorNTape, the dynamic SwissPolish duo flexes out with a followup EP that has broadspectrum appeal.

Midtempo, popinflected disco for open minds, these tracks are as catchy as they are groovy, incorporating influences from all over the world, projecting shamanic oneliners and woke, truthful vibrations into a cosmos confounded by deep fakes and fraudulent gurus.

All playable, 100% organic, best quality, happiness guaranteed!

REPRESS WITH GENERIC COVER!!

Tartelet Records once again nailing down the good stuff, as NU GUINEA step up with a stunning EP !
Last years self titled EP on the Early Sounds label stood out a mile and became a cult classic amongst those lucky enough to scoop a copy The tantalisingly tropical House on offer there informs this excellent EP too. The beautifully dislocated & mid-tempo 'Bouganvilles Live' lays out some warm analogue textures across a live percussion base, while the Vocal Edit of title track Nu World ploughs a similar furrow to early Metro Area, with rich musical synth work over a pacey Afro groove and undeniable Jazz-Funk flair. The Flute Mix passes over the vocal refrain from mix one and just gets down and wigs-out on those solos - an absolute killer ! Exotica Dance Club sounds like Herbie visited the Salsoul studios with his banks of modular gear and jammed out into the small hours, as we head home on the beatless Outro, all synth washes and lavish ear candy Another superb release on this ever-impressive label.

Queen & Disco Records returns with the natural successor to the throne, Royalty of Funk Vol.2.

ROF Vol.2 follows the same path forged by its predecessor, with Alan Mooney's Edits leading you into the musical journey to follow with the imperious By My Side. What better way to kick off proceedings than the King of Pop himself, cut in such a way that it's just as unrecognisable as he was at the end of it all. A real sexy number that does the great man justice on every level.

Vincenzo de Bull then comes flying out the traps with the percussion laden, feel-good summer number, Don't Tell Me, Tell Her, that instantly puts a smile on the face. Housey in it's arrangement this will feel at home on any dance floor!
Flip it over and you're immediately hit by a wall of bass in the form of Napoleon's Gotta Keep Moving. Cries of 'Dance!', followed by punchy brass notes get the toes tappin to this delightful Costa Rican import! The Queen & Disco round things off with the enticing Satisfy. A track that completely and utterly fulfils it's calling to satisfy it's listeners. A Heavily layered track with sumptuous vocals. This is undoubtably the prime-time treat of the show!

Ruhrmann & Rockwell’s debut 12" EP marks the inaugural release for Amikron Records, a colognian imprint established together by the friends of 'Chicago Am Rhein' and 'Ruhrmann & Rockwell' for modern dancefloor records of all kind.

The first music from the Cologne producer duo features four library instrumental tracks, all created and rearranged for a dj-friendly use.

Kicking things off on the a-side with a midtempo boogie / disco stomper, "Cape York '84" is serving you feel-good summer vibes followed by "Do Not Rush" slowing it down to keep you in a cool jazzy mood. On the flip side "Felix The Midi-Cat" turns wild with some synth-jamming backed by an uptempo groove while "Sunrise" puts your mind into a hypnotic rhythm surrounded by flute samples.
