The sound of '2020' is new jazz and old funk with an electronic city pace, brought to you by duo The Colours That Rise. Made up of multi-instrumentalists and producers Simeon Jones and Nathanael Williams, their '2020' EP is a confident guide through future sounds and past histories from a time yet to come.

Created using analogue synths and acoustic instruments, the 4 track EP works as the score to a yet to be created animation. Nathanael's background is creating soundtracks for films, while Simeon plays with UK jazz prophets Yussef Kamaal and featured on Henry Wu's 'Negotiate' 12'.

Providing groove for the dancer and hidden meanings for the listener, '2020' is plugged in to the pulse of UK dancefloors and the resurgence of funk audiences. With their fusion sound, The Colours That Rise are another welcome addition to the new 'UK Jazz invasion' alongside their friends and colleagues Yussef Kamaal and The Comet is Coming.

This is the first time "Lowdown" has ever been pressed on 12" vinyl single since it's original release in '76. The B side brings back "JoJo" off the 1980 Middle Man album, coupled with the mighty "What Can I Say". RSD exclusive pressed on 180g vinyl.

Seeking for a different twist to original tracks, there are not many producers who have not tapped on Deetron's talents as a masterful remixer. Putting his deft touch on tracks from artists as varied as Ennio Morricone and Todd Terje to Jamiroquai, Deetron's remixes have become standalone hits in their own right.
With more than 200 remixes to his name since his first remix was released in 2000, Deetron takes stock and cherry-picks from his vast discography to present Re-creation (Remixes Compiled) for Character 007. A collector's collection from past to present, the compilation stretches across his body of work from 2003 to 2017 and features some of Deetron's very best.

As a special bonus, the compilation also includes more than a handful of exclusive new versions, edits and instrumentals that Deetron has been using as secret weapons in his DJ sets. These are now released for the first time for all to enjoy.

Re-creation (Remixes Compiled) will be released on both digital and vinyl. The double-pack vinyl release features Deetron's personal landmark releases on sides A/B, while the C/D sides feature exclusive or previously unreleased edits/versions.

Roaaaar again! Tiger & Woods are back with the follow up to 'Unleashed Tapes". Flipping two sides of the same coin i.e. the Tiger sound. Volume 2 is as tough as it is tender. 'Chili Dip' is a variation on the classic micro-boogie-sampling turned Italian Touch peak-time banger theme adrenergic! 'Moonswing' on the other side, takes it nice and easy: 10 minutes of tension and release. Hang on, hang on!

Following the release of Baba Commandant's debut album "Juguya" in 2014 on the mighty Sublime Frequencies label, Mawimbi is proud to present Wasso, one of the best cut from the
album in brand new mixing shape alongsides killer electronic remixes from the likes of Mawimbi signee Loya and Mr. Boom.
A rather eccentric and mysterious character from the Ouagadougou underground scene, Baba Commandant started out as a traditional Bobo dancer, before engaging in a rich musical career and joining Burkinabé star Victor Démé as one of his touring musicians. Influenced by the likes of Fela Kuti, King Sunny Adé and Moussa Doumbia, Baba Commandant plays dozo n'goni, an instrument associated with traditional Donso hunters, bridging the gaps between different generations and strata of Burkinabé society. Recorded at the notorious Ouaga Jungle Studios, "Wasso" is a prime example of the band's unpolished and raw sounds, merging Mandinka blues, dub and Nigerian afrobeat with a punk feel. The A-side also features a remix by Mawimbi signee Loya, whose leftfield reinterpretation moves at
a much higher pace with epic modular synth motifs and subtle organic layers of sounds. The B-side of the record is made of two DJ-friendly remixes with impressive mixing work from Toulouse-based producer Mr. Boom. Stripping the original track down to its most lively elements, both mixes are perfect club-ready weapons for tropical-minded and house DJs alike.

Transmitting treacherous local energy into his new creative undertakings, Bogdan now joins the Not An Animal force keeping the flame well and truly ignited. A'Parovoznikov' fires across all cylinders with a vigorous Italo-arp bass motor, driving it further down the cosmic highway, engine doused in fully-lubricated synth-pad oil.Justin Van Der Volgen's remix swiftly rips the wing mirror clean off with a zealous two-to-the-floor-hitting blowout. On the B, 'Listopad' cruises top down with a more Balearic approach. A dreamy square bass glissades alongside percussive hats and succulent pads that shuffle within the horizon, whilst computer bleeps chomp and add an intensifying clarity. Kito Jempere's remix closes the release with his first contribution to the label. It lifts up the original and drives towards sundown into moonlight. Warping bass tones squelch against fetching stabs and brash breaks keeping this track fully pulsating.

Another double-tracker out from the Napoli's West Hill Studio, this time by the hands of Whodamanny delivering two Italian funk-disco jams entirely made with electronic instruments.

OTP Party Breaks #7 is finally here! Kicking off 2013 with a stellar collection of tracks that have been staples in their recent DJ sets. Marcos Cabrals' "Latin Box" on A1 duties with proto-house styled sounds and his signature dubby synth treatment. Kon loops up a killer break and which twists and turns making it all his own. Jacques Renault on flip with some proto-house madness! And NYC's WOOHOO brings ups the party vibes with his disco banger "Nightwalker." The new Joey Negro album 'Produced With Love' is now available across all formats but as the double CD contained 20 tracks it wasn't possible to fit everything onto the 3LP version so the 'Space Time EP' is a new vinyl EP containing some of these tracks that weren't ready in time to make it on to the vinyl LP.

First up is 'Distorting Space Time', a drawn out dubby, jazzy, spacey track that suggests a heavy Arthur Russell influence, one that is already a firm favourite of Gilles Peterson, Louie Vega and François Kevorkian

'I Recognise' is a jazzy boogie track with Kaidi Taitum on keys full of spacey effects and features Sacha Williamson on vocals.

'Dancing Into The Stars' features London's best disco party starters Horse Meat Disco on co-production duties and Angela Johnson on vocals. This is the unreleased extended mix that comes in at over 10 minutes and is a full on Dan Hartman style modern disco production.

Completing the package is the Black Loops remix of 'Won't Let Go' who takes Linda Clifford's vocals and a killer bassline into deep house territory.

Another West-End sure-shot! This sublime piece of early electronic Boogie has always worn it's "classic" badge with a relaxed sense of pride since it's release in 1982, perhaps it's the languid synthed out groove supplied by studio maestros Nick martinelli & David Todd or Brenda Taylor's sublime vocals reminding us all that the game of love is always a 2 way street that are to blame

Whatever it is, this is a solid, classic slice of Disco gold, more on the down to mid-tempo tip but still big enough to keep the dance-floors packed from the Garage to the Loft & beyond with ease! The production simply sounds years ahead of it's time (still does!) & it has the FUNK in bucket-loads, this is as essential as it gets, the real deal. Featured here are all the original mixes that were on the 1982 pressing (Yes! There's a dub mix!).

In late 2017, Thomas Gandey and Danny McLewin - known from the popular disco-influenced electronic music collective Psychemagik - emerged from their studio in Bordeaux, France, claiming to have produced an extended musical arrangement, both entitled, and containing the sounds of, the shakuhachi. Furthermore, they insisted, for the purposes of this production, and a further album of related arrangements to be released subsequently in conjunction with the successful German record label Kompakt, they should be referred to henceforth as Ghost Vision. Shortly thereafter, the audio recordings described by Gandey and McLewin came into the possession of noted Los Angeles degenerate, DJ and nymphomaniac (citation needed) Dirty Dave, who was quick to relay the hallucinatory qualities of the duo's productions to fellow DJ and trusted hallucinogenic expert Paramida, of esteemed German musical imprint Love On The Rocks.

Paramida, recognising the innate quality of the sounds presented to her, decided that such recordings warranted immediate release through her audio distribution channel, and not without remixes. Quite without thinking of the origins of the instrument which had given the recording its particular sonic distinguishment, and of course, its title, she enlisted the help of two musicians named Alex - one from Tokyo, and one from Kyoto. Both Alex From Tokyo - teaming up with his colleagues Isao Kumano & Kenichi Takagi as Tokyo Black Star, known for their prior releases on popular German label Innervisions - and his counterpart, Alex from Kyoto, better known as Al Kassian, rising Tamagotchi on Paramida's Love On The Rocks imprint, and his own label, Planet Sundae - turned in striking reinterpretations of Gandey and McLewin's composition. It was reported that upon their arrival and first listen at Love On The Rocks headquarters, wild dancing broke out almost immediately and did not stop for more than 36 hours.

The resulting package of stereo recordings was finally released for public broadcast and manipulation by disc jockeys in early 2018, to much rejoicing, from London to L.A., throughout Europe, Japan and everywhere music is played. It marked the first release for the label in their fourth year of operation, in which, it has been noted, there is much to look forward to.

After a short break in the African wilderness, Black Rox return for part 4 of this acclaimed series. 'Date With The Rain' sees Soft Rocks turn in an 11 minute 'One For The Lion King' manipulation of a joyous and uplifting jam that fuses traditional rhythms (think a humm-ba-ba) and vocals that are underpinned with a strong 4/4 kick.On the flip side,Roots Unit perform some major surgery with a 'Pump Up The Jam' reconstruction on 'Le Beat Is Technotronic'. Animals On Psychedelics is a new label out of Cleethorpes, run by DJ/promoter Carl_H. Through a combination of name, artwork and musical output, Animals On Psychedelics focuses on the more tripped out, spacey side of electronic music. Release #002 comes from another member of the Family Miro SundayMusiq, who hosts the super sonic, boundry-pushing party Sunday Club*, down at The Pickle Factory. This will be a first release for Miro SundayMusiq and it certainly won't be the last here at Animals On Psychedelics HQ

The Alkebulan Project is on a mission to change the perception of Africa an it's citizens. Nigerian artist Villy and his group "Villy & The Xtreme Volumes" are on a mission to educate Africans with their message calling for a revolution in Africa, politically and socially in all aspects. Philou has a combination of Congolese, Nigerian and Sierra Leonean heritage and it is in these roots that he has built his sound. His passion for the continent of his ancestors is fervent and his projects are challenging commonly held preconceptions about Africa. His goal is to challenge negative stereotypes, by making African cultures more approachable through music.

Emotional Response again teams up with Meda Fury and Sad City to present an EP of remixes from the acclaimed debut album, Shapes In Formation. Enlisting a killer tag-team of DJ Nature, HOLOVR and Herron to bring their own retakes of Gary Caruth's music, arrives with justified anticipation.

The success of Sad City's debut opus was a deserved conclusion to a journey across third world ambient, found sound samples and jazz-touched beats. All are reworked and expanded here while retaining the artist's all encompassing atmospheric oeuvre.

First Milo Johnson dons his DJ Nature moniker for two mixes of Steady Jam. The stand out of the album for many, it seemed right to request Milo's skills to push the sample-based loops to a deep dance floor. Rolling congas, skipping hats and the teasing, soulful melodies come together to work their magic. Vocal and Dub are crafted and cut as one long-form take for the more adventurous, this is dub-disco for the today's real (to reel) entertainers.

Side two is given over to rising names in HOLOVR and Herron. With releases on Opal Tapes, Further and Firecracker Recordings, Jimmy Billingham 303-infused sound is perfect in reshaping Caruth's trip that is Pace, Movements I-IV. Building slowly with trademark 909 meets acid, kick eventually arrives to take the remix beyond head nodding to swinging minds and hearts.

The EP closes with a perfect dismantle and rebuild by Manchester's Herron. A man of talents, Sam Lewis is pushing his City's cultural landscape via the Soup Kitchen venue, co-running the on-point Meandyou Records, while still having time to record solo as Herron and for Hinge Finger as one half of CO/R, alongside label head Joy Orbison. The glitch beats, drone synthesis and orchestral vocal snatches of Rain fuse and percolate in the mind's eye. Sad City. Reshaped in transformations.

We're back from hibernation after releasing the third Roundup at the end of 2016 and we're starting off with a new signing. Milan based Parker Madicine joins Heist with some high tech funk with a serious nod to the 'D' and we've got Byron the Aquarius delivering a great jazzy remix. You'll be more likely to find Parker Madicine browsing through boxes of old jazz and soul records than you'll see him showcasing his social media skills. He's a real vinyl junky and moreover a hip hop fanatic and probably loves his synthesizers more than his mother. Apart from promoting funk and soul oriented parties in Milan, he founded CT-HI records, short for 'Contemporary Theories of Hip Hop Influences". A few years back he teamed up a.o. with his buddies Veez-O and Turbojazz to create some Dilla and early 90's inspired hip hop and these influences are clearly present in his EP for Heist. With Heartbreaker, he lays down a dreamy but heavy groove for the first minute or so, arpeggiating its way to the moment where the airy pads make room for a looser than loose groove where synth stabs and bass line dance around each other creating a killer vibe. Zawinul starts in the same manner, rough kick, loose and degraded hi-hats and dreamy Rhodes chords. The tracks build further with some lovely brassy hits and arps, whereas Placebo is the most stripped back but high tempo track, where an airy and delayed bassline does most of the work to set the mood. We're really happy to have Byron the Aquarius reworking one of PM's tracks.

The mysterious Anonymous Edits return with a killer 4 track EP of dancefloor edits.

Norwegian house and techno producer Bjørn Torske started experimenting with electronic music in the late '80s in his hometown of Tromsø. As a teenager he was inspired by other Tromsø musicians, especially Geir Jenssen, the musical prodigy later to be known as ambient pioneer Biosphere. Torske started releasing minimalist techno in the beginning of the '90s, primarily under the name of Ismistik.

coming out of Philadelphia heem the music monsters were produced and handle by long time philly producer and writer Hubert willis. The group had small success circa 1976 with their psych funk 45 "wake up people"/piece of the rock" they recorded a few more tracks from those sessions and what lay on the reels for all these years is probably their best yet...Its just right for now. "Keep god on your side" is modern soul disco of the highest order, over 5 mins long it leads you onto the dancefloor and never lets go!
