Established in 2014, These Wicked Rivers are Derby’s entry to the new wave of rock and roll that is sweeping across the United Kingdom. Drawing influence from the well of rock legends and blues greats, the band have made quite an impact since their inception with their unique brand of blues-infused modern rock steadily picking up plaudits for their gutsy live performances across the UK and beyond.
The ensemble received a slew of positive reviews for their debut EP ‘The Enemy’ back in 2015 and followed it up with 2017’s ‘II’, gaining them attention within the emerging UK rock scene as well as airplay on Planet Rock radio. Debut album ‘Eden’ was released in May 2020 and brought new levels of critical acclaim, including a Classic Rock Magazine ‘High Hopes’ feature as well as a coveted ‘Track of the Week’ accolade.
On the live circuit the lads have forged an ever-growing fan base through supports with the likes of Massive Wagons, Those Damn Crows, Kris Barras and Hayseed Dixie, as well playing stand-out performances at festivals such as Planet Rockstock, Steelhouse Festival, Stonedead Festival and Giants of Rock. 2024 has proven to be their busiest year yet, kicking off in January with a hometown show that sold out in just 5 hours. Eden's highly anticipated follow up, 'Force of Nature' dropped 1st March 2024 via Fat Earth Records, reaching no. 3 in the UK Rock Charts which called for an almighty (sold out) celebration at Matlock Bath's Grand Pavilion. The band ventured to Europe for the first time in April, delivering 'Peace, Love & Lampshades' to sell-out crowds across France, Germany and The Netherlands before another successful UK tour in May which saw the 'Rivers "Family" of fans continue to grow

Tony Price returns with NAME?, a new LP on his Maximum Exposure label delivering 10 tracks of red-hot house music realness.
Following two releases in 2025, the brutalist cybernetic jazz reveries of Requiem for the Ontario Science Centre and the ferocious machine funk of Street Theatre, NAME? keeps its crosshairs aimed straight at the dancefloor.
NAME? showcases Tony’s undying affinity for the sound of New York City and New Jersey house: Tony Humphries’ cybernetic gospel dubs, the crude, Todd Terry-style 12-bit hip-hop explosives, the cracking garage swing of early Strictly Rhythm, Mood II Swing and Masters At Work, the psychotic bleep-funk bombast of the Bomb Squad, and the deep, ecstatic machine soul pioneered by the likes of Blaze and the Burrell Brothers.
Produced in his Greektown studio in Toronto using an array of drum machines and samplers, these recordings are pure Tony: rude, crude and elemental. House music stripped down to its core principles and defining primordial textures. No nonsense, no junk, no varnish, no nothing. Just the funk.

****COVER WITH AUGMENTED REALITY**** Argentinian producer Translate synthesises states of consciousness and perceptions into his semantics of sound, creating a distinct language of mental techno through hypnotic repetition, precision and deeply immersive atmospheres. His presence in this realm extends through his label Relativity, whose latest EP brings together tracks by Mike Parker and Oscar Mulero, while his own productions have appeared on Svreca’s Semantica Records. For his DIG release, Translate shifts into a broader spectrum, revealing a side of his production that has remained unexplored until now. DIG Curated captures this moment of a new sonic expansion between his signature hypnotic journeys and a stripped-down techno sound. Expansive opens the record with Translate’s distinct mental techno, pushed into an added psychedelic dimension. With a vast and trippy sound, the track steadily fills the space, inviting the dancers to go inward and simultaneously reach out into a collective morphic field. With Discursive, the coordinates shift, introducing a very stripped-down techno side of Translate’s production and a palette rarely heard from him before. Reduced to its essential elements, the track cuts directly through the floor with a functional groove, whilst retaining the tension embedded in his sonic DNA. On the B side, Fuse accelerates with fast-moving pads, mechanical drums and swerving loops that gradually lock the body into trance. Quirky textures spiral throughout, with robotic glitches sounding like organic beings. Coefficients closes the record by pulling the listener into rich bass and expanding loops over a cold melody that guides the final journey into a cosmic unfold. Hypnotic sci-fi vocals emerge from an interplanetary future, traversing space in search of earthly traces. The record ends suspended somewhere between the transmission and unknown, like a sonic threshold. Nobody knows who Transpac is.
The project first appeared as an anonymous transmission: a folder sent through the network, containing music, instructions and a name - Transpac. No photograph. No biography. Just the request to use the name and let the music speak.
There have been several transmissions since. Still no interviews, no confirmed identity, no explanation of who - or what - is behind the name.
Some say Transpac is a person. Others insist it is a machine. A few believe it is simply a data packet that escaped the network and somehow learned how to make music.
The name itself offers a possible clue. TRANSPAC was once the name of a French public data network, launched in 1978 and built around X.25 packet switching - breaking information into packets and moving them across a network long before the Internet became what it is today.
Perhaps Transpac has been travelling ever since.
Packet Switching EP is the latest intercepted transmission: six packets of pure machine music, assembled somewhere between circuitry, communication protocols and whatever exists on the other side of the network.
Whilst the packets have been received, the sender remains unknown.
Synaptic Cliffs is particularly pleased to have brought Transpac into its network - a feat made possible, not least, by its principal operative, pdqb. Through communication channels inaccessible to ordinary Earthlings, pdqb was able to locate Transpac with remarkable ease and secure its transmission for the label.
The artwork, rendered in yellow and black and largely composed of binary code, echoes the visual language of the early machine age - a world of geometric systems, electronic signals and human beings beginning to communicate with machines. Created by the legendary Infamous Image Division.

A sought-after collaborator in Chicago’s indie music scene for over a decade, V.V. Lightbody’s third LP is a marvelous showcase of her singular production and arrangement skills, ear-catching melodies, and signature frank lyricism. Period Piece presents a deeply relatable audit of Lightbody’s own anxieties, imperfections, and charming peculiarities as she falls in love, ages, dabbles in divination, and re-evaluates her place in the world.
Notably, Period Piece also marks Lightbody’s debut as a lead producer on her own album – a dazzling and welcome emergence. With layers of perfectly tucked backing vocals, swirling guitars in harmony, chugging bass lines, and romantic, melodic flutes, Lightbody has crafted a playful and pristinely recorded collection of indie-folk songs, veering between 70s Brazilian samba and contemporary electro-pop. Think, Cate Le Bon strolling through an overgrown meadow. Dave Vettraino provided additional production and mixing support, and Lightbody called in a robust team of friends to contribute throughout, including Macie Stewart, Sam Cantor, Emma Hospelhorn, Jack Henry Lickerman, and Cassandra Jenkins.

Efficient Space honours trailblazing Australian imprint Volition Records with Volition Cuts Vol. 1. Evolving from Andrew Penhallow’s time at GAP Records, which smuggled Cabaret Voltaire, The Fall and the Factory catalogue into the region, Volition shifted focus to homegrown talent over imported sounds. Echoing its precursor’s blend of indie friction and electronic curiosity, the label wired itself into the pulse of club and rave culture, linking city scenes and amplifying them for the mainstream. With retina-scorching design, uncompromising packaging and top-tier remixes, Volition consistently bent the major label machine to its will.
No Volition retrospective would be complete without Sisters Underground’s intergenerational anthem ‘In the Neighbourhood’. Otara teenagers Brenda Makamoeafi and Hassanah Iroegbu brought their Pasifika perspective to Proud (An Urban-Pacific Streetsoul Compilation), a commercial success that platformed NZ rap and R&B with a clarity that outshone its overseas counterparts. The quiet architect of Volition’s sound, producer prodigy Robert Racic flipped the classic as a hip-house dub before his untimely passing in 1996.
Its A-side companion comes from Brisbane synth-pop unit Boxcar, who signed to Volition after frontman Dave Smith handed a cassette to Tom Ellard of Severed Heads during a school newspaper interview. That unlikely handoff led to their 1990 debut Vertigo. Here, their ritual-laced, body-jacking industrial is retooled by Miami freestyle maverick Tony Garcia.
Further cherry-picking from the VOLT vaults, Sexing The Cherry unleash a bleep-addled meltdown from Brisbane’s Edwin Morrow and Cherryn Lomas. ‘This Is A Dream’ was recorded exclusively for High (A Dance Compilation), the first all-Australian V/A to top the ARIA charts, propelling the local movement into national consciousness.
Closing the sampler, Sydney’s Single Gun Theory joined Volition as they moved from post-punk abstraction and electronic collage toward downtempo, sample-based mysticism. Their 1994 ambient-pop reverie ‘Fall’ is reimagined by Stuart Crichton and Apollo 440’s Norman Fisher-Jones as full-throttle Goa trance, a final surge that channels the label’s relentless push into new terrain.
Volition Cuts Vol. 1 is dedicated to the loving memory of Volition’s visionary founder Andrew Penhallow, and key contributors Robert Racic and Edwin Morrow.1

Moulton Music returns with House of Moulton Vol. 2, a four-track vinyl sampler featuring music from N.W.N., Homero Espinosa, Allen Craig, Nathan G, and Tobirus Mozelle.
Side A opens with Play With My... by N.W.N., a deep underground gem originally released on Bagira Ice Limited in 2018. After discovering the track last year, Homero Espinosa knew it deserved a vinyl release and reached out to N.W.N. to make it happen. Alongside the original, Homero delivers an exclusive remix that builds on the groove, adding his signature jazz-infused touch while staying true to the spirit of the record.
On Side B, Moulton digs into the vaults with two dancefloor favorites. Never Alone featuring Tobirus Mozelle gets the Nathan G treatment, delivering deep house at its finest with warm chords, soulful vocals, and timeless groove. Closing the sampler is Legbleep by Allen Craig, a deep, moody, techno-infused roller that perfectly rounds out the sampler.

Following the success of the first volume, "BOY Records - Timeless Technology 2 (1989-1993)" delves even deeper into the catalogue of one of Germany's most influential independent techno labels.
While the first volume focused primarily on the label's formative years and its pioneering tekkno traxx, this second chapter explores a broader spectrum of the BOY Records sound. Alongside overlooked classics from the 1989-1991 period, it extends the scope up to 1993, years in which the label embraced the rapidly evolving electronic music landscape.
As the sound matured, the raw energy of early German techno began to merge with harder techno rhythms, acid-infused productions, and the first waves of European trance. Featuring 24 carefully selected tracks, many of them long-forgotten gems, "Timeless Technology 2" captures both the diversity and forward-thinking spirit that made BOY Records a key player during the golden age of underground dance music, while documenting the label's continued evolution and lasting contribution to the scene.
This deluxe 4LP set is housed in a reverse-board printed gatefold sleeve and includes one BOY Records logo sticker.

The final chapter of The Third Room's curator-led series is shaped by GiGi FM, an artist whose work moves fluidly between club functionality, emotional storytelling and immersive sound design. Through her productions and performances, she has developed a distinct language where rhythm, atmosphere and movement exist in constant dialogue. For the closing chapter, the focus lies on cohesion. Bringing together artists connected through a shared sensitivity for groove, detail and space, the release unfolds through percussive structures and atmospheric elements that move with clarity, depth and intention. The Half Bearded Man by Fergus Sweetland opens the record. A rough yet detailed rhythmic framework, syncopated percussion and a rolling bassline create forward motion, while softer elements and a subtle vocal layer introduce a contrasting sense of lightness, drawing the listener into the track. On Shark Attak, D-Leria places percussion at the centre, but with a more restrained approach. Polyrhythmic bleeps and high-frequency sweeps weave around the groove, maintaining depth and tension without becoming intrusive, giving the track a quiet but persistent drive. The B-side opens with one of its defining moments: Anukari, a collaboration between Efdemin and GiGi FM. Bringing together two distinct approaches, the track unfolds as a layered and atmospheric piece: detailed percussion, connecting textures and subtle melodic fragments create a sense of depth that feels both modern and slightly otherworldly, while remaining inviting and grounded. Closing the record, Even by Fireground reduces the elements further. Warm chords and a restrained rhythmic core create an open, enveloping space, balancing softness with tension and allowing the track to unfold with a quiet sense of momentum. Across all four tracks, the release remains tightly cohesive: built on groove, space and carefully placed detail. As the final entry in the series, it shifts the focus from structure to flow, offering a closing chapter that feels immersive, connected and complete. Following the success of Volume 1, Volume 2 once again dives into the archives to bring three essential trance classics back to life on fresh vinyl.

Last but not least is “Insigma - Open Our Eyes (Original Mix)”, completing another carefully selected trio of timeless trance records. Originally released in 2000 on A Trance Communication Release, this classic perfectly captures the euphoric, driving sound that made the era so influential and continues to resonate with trance fans today.
Volume 2 continues the series in style, bringing together three essential trance classics on one piece of wax and making this a must-have for both long-time A State Of Trance fans and a new generation discovering these timeless anthems.

From the feel-good vocal energy of “What You Gonna Say” and the funk-driven swagger of “Less Struggle, More Hustle”, through to the 70's inspired “The Movers”, the soulful lift of “Stronger” and the irresistible drum rhythms of “Muchacho” and “Run It Up”, this is music made first and foremost for the dancefloor.
The music featured on Best of 2026 has already picked up support from some of the world’s most respected selectors, including Roger Sanchez, Danny Rampling, Marco Carola, Jamie Jones, Joseph Capriati, Paco Osuna, Claptone, Danny Krivit, Sam Divine and Arthur Baker, alongside many more.
Pressed on limited edition pink vinyl, Best of 2026 is a snapshot of The Disco Express in full motion.

Vokabularium returns with leksikon vol. 2, the second instalment of the label’s evolving VA series - a carefully curated body of work that reflects the deeper philosophy behind the Copenhagen-based imprint: emotionally driven electronic music built for introspection as much as the dancefloor.
Following the success of the first leksikon compilation, this new chapter expands the label’s sonic identity further, bringing together a diverse collection of artists whose productions move fluidly between melodic techno, leftfield electronica, deep house and experimental club music. Across the compilation, there’s a consistent thread of tension, atmosphere and storytelling - records designed less around fleeting trends and more around lasting emotional resonance.
Founded by Denis Horvat, Vokabularium has steadily established itself as a platform for detailed, synth-led electronic music rooted in analogue textures and cinematic depth. The label has become an extension of Horvat’s own musical language - one shaped by releases on respected imprints including Innervisions, Afterlife and Diynamic, alongside his increasingly distinctive output on Vokabularium itself.
