In the Spring of 1968, the Mary Butterworth band was formed. They enjoyed playing a variety of engagements around the Southern California area and in 1969, they recorded their one and only album entitled Mary Butterworth. This original, vinyl album was pre-sold to fans and friends only - it was never available to the general public.



The psychedelic Rock Music of the '60's is still regarded, even today as some of the greatest live music ever created and Mary Butterworth will now be a lasting part of history. This has prompted the re-release of this album.

Nach seinem Debüt "All These Nights In Bars Will Somehow Save My Soul" (2013) spielte Rob Lynch eine Support-Tour mit Thees Uhlmann, durchquerte einen ganzen Sommer lang die USA mit der Vans Warped Tour, spielte in Europa auf zahlreichen Festivals und tourte solo sowie mit Backing-Band. In anderen Worten: Fast drei Jahre lang kam Lynch kaum zur Ruhe und wurde zum Vollzeitmusiker. Jetzt, im Sommer 2016, geht's für den gebürtigen Stamforder mit "Baby, I'm A Runaway" in die nächste Runde. Auf dem Album finden sich zehn Songs voll melancholischem Optimismus und - aus Ermangelung eines passenderen deutschen Ausdrucks - "upbeat musicianship". Als Inspiration dafür dienten Songs aus Lynchs Teenager-Zeit, das heißt College Rock, Pop-Punk, Grunge und Neunziger-Pop. "Baby, I'm A Runaway" ist eine echte Bandplatte geworden. Anstatt einfach wie beim Debüt über bereits fertige Songs neue Spuren zu stapeln, konnten sich Johnny Ward (Gitarre, Gesang), Charlie Thomas (Drums) und Tom Aylott (Bass) von Anfang an einbringen. Das hört man, sind die Songs doch hörbar dichter und detaillierter instrumentiert. Produziert wurde das Album von Sam Duckworth (Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly). Er verhalf dem Ganzen zu einem vollen, aber nicht aufgeblasenen Sound.

Boston psychedelic band the Tangerine Zoo formed in 1967 in nearby Swansea, MA. Guitarist Robert "Benny" Benevides, bassist Tony Taveira, and drummer Donald Smith first collaborated in the Ebb Tides, which the previous year issued "My Baby's Gone" on the Arco label.

Taveira exited the lineup prior to recording the follow-up, Outside Looking In. In mid-1969, the Tangerine Zoo was invited to play the Woodstock festival, but were forced to decline due to prior commitments. The band dissolved in 1970, with Gagnon soon resurfacing in Wadsworth Mansion, which scored a Billboard Top Ten hit with 1971's "Sweet Mary." The original Tangerine Zoo lineup reunited in 1988 to play a charity fundraiser, intermittently reconvening during the decades that followed.

 Ha! Ha! Ha! is the second album by British pop group Ultravox, at that time known as "Ultravox!" with an exclamation mark.

A series of special limited edition IRON MAIDEN vinyl picture disc albums are due to be released by EMI starting in October 2012. Comprised of the first eight albums of Maiden's career, all released in the 1980's, each picture disc will be packaged in a gatefold sleeve with full colour printed inner bags and the heavyweight vinyl will be cut from the original album master tapes. The albums will be released chronologically between October and February, starting with 'Iron Maiden' and 'Killers' on 15 October 2012 followed by 'The Number Of The Beast' and 'Piece Of Mind' in November 2012.To open the new year 'Powerslave' and the double album 'Live After Death' will be released in January, with the final two titles, 'Somewhere In Time' and 'Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son' coming out in February 2013. These vinyl picture discs are being released to commemorate IRON MAIDEN's current Maiden England tour which comprises largely 80's material, in particular focussing on the 'Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son' album.

Manchmal ergibt sich aus der Not heraus eine Art Konzept, ein roter Faden, den man in der
Rückschau als feste, ja beinahe logische Gegebenheit ansieht, aus dem die Menschen eine Art
Mythos stricken, eine schöne Geschichte, die man einfach gerne weiter erzählt, weil sie wirklich so
passiert ist. So hat der Pianist Lambert sein neues Album So setzte er sich oft erst nach Mitternacht
an sein Klavier zu Hause. Aus dem ruhigen Spiel entwickelten sich nach und nach die Kompositionen
für das zweite Lambert-Album. Das Ergebnis ist wunderschönes, forschendes Klavierwerk zwischen
klassischer Romantik, modernem Minimalismus, modalem Jazz und einer gewissen, Opulenz immer
nur andeutenden, Coldplayhaftigkeit, die am Ende ja auch wieder auf die Romantik zurückzuführen ist.

Es ist noch gar nicht so lange her, da hat man aufwendig und wortreich seinem Gegenüber erklären müssen, von welcher Wiener Band man denn hier gerade spricht. Heute genügt eigentlich bloß ein Wort und jeder ist sofort im Bilde: - Amore ! In erstaunlich kurzer Zeit ist es Wanda nicht nur gelungen,
Band und dazugehörige Debüt-Platte in Österreich auf ein Platin-Level hochzuspielen, sondern man hat es ganz nebenbei auch noch geschafft, mit - Amore sein eigenes Schlagwort ins Wörterbuch der deutschsprachigen Popkultur zu zimmern. Und da ist jetzt noch nicht mal über die kollektive Euphorie an der Schwelle Hysterie gesprochen, die Wanda in den über 150 Konzerten der letzten 12 Monate auszulösen vermochten. Nun liegt bereits weniger als ein Jahr nach dem Debüt das zweite Album vor: - Bussi ! Die Atemlosigkeit des letzten Bandjahres findet so auch ihre Entsprechung im Veröffentlichungsintervall. Plattenregal dankt. Ausstattung: Die limitierte Vinyl-Box enthält das Album als Doppel-Vinyl incl. MP3 Code, die Single "Bussi Baby" als farbige Vinyl und außerdem tolle Fan-Schmankerl wie Beutel, Aufkleber, Postkarten und ein Schnapsglas. Die Vinyl beinhaltet einen MP3-Code.

Several years ago k.d. lang sent an email to Neko Case and Laura Veirs on a whim. It read simply, "I think we should make a record together." Though the three musicians were barely more than acquaintances "Laura and I both responded immediately," recalls Case. "There was no question."


But now there is an answer. 'case/lang/veirs,' a new album by three phenomenal, self-driven artists will be released June 17 on Anti- with an extensive tour to follow. 'case/lang/veirs' features fourteen new, original songs written by the artists over a period of two-and-a-half years. It was recorded in Portland, OR where lang and Veirs both live, and produced by Tucker Martine with the group. Sessions commenced in lang's loft with a view of Mount St. Helens, and in Veirs' dining room and backyard studio.


Full of stunning harmonies and spellbinding rhythms, 'case/lang/veirs' draws inspiration from alluring, mysterious subjects: a supermoon, the tumbledown story of 70s singer Judee Sill, and the "best kept secret" in Silver Lake, to name but three. Anti- is sharing the album's lead track "Atomic Number," which features vocals by all three singers, today.

The majority supported established acts such as the Buzzcocks and Joy Division and some went on to form legendary bands in later eras (Mike Joyce, The Hoax.) In the spirit of the DIY ethos of the punk era, most were recorded in small studios and released in limited pressings and have become a must have for the discerning punk collector.
