The quartet released their debut during 2015 on Chapata Records/Cardinal Fuzz (UK) and Guru Guru Brain in Japan. Of course you can hear their love for kraut-rock legends such as Can and Neu! But more interesting is the bands members definition of themselves as repetition freaks. A-Side New Pastoral Life sounds like a repetitive mystic chant that wants to communicate with Klaus Dinger on a ouija board in a distant and deep forrest. B-side Tunnel offers a straight forward monokrautriot. Kyotara Miula (guitar, vocals, synthesizer), Taku Rauschenberg (guitar), Keita Ise (bass) and Hikari Sakashita (drums) surely comes from the same strain as Bo Ningen, Cybele no Nichiyobi and Kikagaku Moyo. Act like you know!

In the Beginning is the second live album by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble. While the album was released about two years after Vaughan's death in 1990, the actual performance took place on April 1, 1980 at Steamboat 1874 in Austin, Texas.
This was all before his silk kimonos and black sombreros became trademarks, before his incendiary Montreux Jazz Festival appearance & before his recording contract. This is a record from the then 25-year-old Vaughan, still more than three years away from the release of his first studio album.

The Byrds' Greatest Hits is the first greatest hits album by
American rock band The Byrds and was released in August
1967. It is the top-selling album in The Byrds' catalogue as it provides a summary of The Byrds' history during Gene Clark and David Crosby's tenure with the band and also functions as a survey of the group's hit singles from 1965 to 1967, a period when the band had its greatest amount of success on the singles chart.

From classics such as 'Mr. Tambourine Man', 'Turn! Turn! Turn! (To Everything There Is A Season)' and 'Eight Miles High' these are chiming timeless songs that will fill your heart with warmth.

Colour by Numbers was Culture Club's most successful album, and can even be considered as one of the most popular albums from the 80s in general. Scoring no less than five hit singles, this set of songs dominated the charts for a full year, both in the US and in Europe.

After their menacing debut Set It Off, Madball's second album, Demonstrating My Style, finds the former Agnostic Front members navigating a similar territory that they have covered before, but with arguably even better songwriting.

Shazam is the second album by The Move, originally released in the UK in February 1970. The album marked a bridge between the band's quirky late 60s pop singles and the progressive, long-form style of Roy Wood's next project, the Electric Light Orchestra. It was the last Move album to feature the group's original lead vocalist, Carl Wayne.

Essentially The Move's 1969 stage act captured on record, with its mixture of California psychedelia, heavy metal riffs, thundering drums and quotations from classic composers, the album was generally praised by critics and is generally regarded as the band's best album.

Cheena testify to a long history of New York nights, trading insults and borrowing beer at rooftop parties that began years ago. There's plenty of New York in this band - Lou Reed's better glam punches found a jawline or two among them, the heavy handed playing of the Dolls, and that particular manner of NY glam you can hear in Kiss- that's all in Cheena.

Spend The Night With...is a soundtrack to nights where revelry and lust are never isolated from poor decisions and vanity, where the grave sincerity of a bathroom confession explodes into cruelty and hysteria. Nights on busy streets or crowded subway cars coloured with elegant ambition and constrained by the practicality of street smarts. While we say this is NY music, we must also say this is American music. One could imagine a timeless jukebox of American RNR history from hard glam to cocaine / codeine country has blasted into the imbibed ears of our Cheens for many nights on end. Thus we hear songs for and of the night, songs pieced together out of iPhone recordings of 5am guitar histrionics and lyrics scraped out of speed fried text exchanges. There is a long history of bands as disparate as the Byrds, Gun Club, and the Flesh Eaters which had to reconcile RNR with country and blues roots, a tradition of truly AMERICAN music that feeds on itself. This is where I would isolate the sound of Cheena.

America eating itself. Every generation gets the Cheena it deserves because we still live in cities and we still need RNR to live. We still need guitars to be gripped by gods. We still need bards to write odes to heroic crime and ignoble, destitute hedonistic excess, we still need music to drink to that also contains the darkness and disease of hangovers so we aren't too far away from what is raw and what is real. Melbourne quartet Lowtide have released the opening track and in turn announced the release of their self-titled debut which was launched by Steve Lamacq on 6 Music this week.

The Line of Best Fit have also shown early support for the band by premiering the single which sees the band inaugurate new London label Opposite Number as Lowtide look to breach their shores this summer by releasing their first full length to the world on all formats.

Superficially, it would seem relatively easy to define Lowtide's music. Their reverb drenched, richly layered and heavily textured sound inhabits that celestial world where the sonics of Spacemen 3, Sparklehorse and Slowdive swoop and soar. And yet, crucially Lowtide pave a prodigal path of their own with one of the most majestic Australian albums in recent years.

Previous releases include the 'Julia/Spring' 7 inch single in Australia which came out via Lost & Lonesome to critical acclaim. It featured a cover of the Asylum Party classic 'Julia' and has received consistent airplay from Henry Rollins on KCRW since.

Cosmic Visions Of A Latin American Earth - Venezuelan Experimental Rock in the 1970s Soul Jazz Records' new Venezuela 70 is the first-ever album of its kind to take a look at the groundbreaking experimental rock music made in Venezuela and created in the 1970s - during a time when the country was both a modern cultural and economic powerhouse in Latin America on account of wealth from its vast oil supplies. Venezuela lies at the northern part of South America, with neighbouring Colombia to its west and Brazil to its south. The north coast borders the Caribbean. Whilst much of 1960s Venezuelan rock music emulated British and USA styles, the 1970s saw the evolution of a new generation of creative artists such as Vytas Brenner, Angel Rada, Pablo Schneider and Miguel Angel Fuster, who all explored the possibilities of mixing together rock with elements of electronica, funk, jazz, latin rhythms simultaneously exploring their links with Venezuelan roots music, creating a new sound which blended a multitude of new and old world influences, uniquely Venezuelan.
These Venezuelan artists looked to the future while exploring their country's own musical heritage to create a new cultural identity. Similarities can be drawn with then contemporary movements around the world such as the Trópicalia and post-Trópicalia 1970s scene in Brazil of Os Mutantes, Novos Baianos, Secos e Molhados (all of which feature on Soul Jazz Records' earlier Brazil 70). 
A similar parallel can be made in Europe with the experimental German groups of the 1970s (Can, Amon Duul, Harmonia, Neu all featured on Soul Jazz Records' Deutsche Elektronische Musik) who deconstructed and reconstructed the links between rock music and electronics to define a new German cultural identity.
Most of these artists featured on Venezuela 70 remain practically unknown outside of Venezuela's borders and yet their progressive forward-thinking music is some of the most sophisticated in the world - a stunning 'melting pot' mix of underground rock, synthetic electronics, funk, jazz and Latin American rhythms all of which explored new sounds and broke down musical boundaries to create a distinct and unique Venezuelan music and cultural identity.

Heralded as innovators within the genre, generating an austere and hypnotic sound that pioneered the formation of the 'Industrial' genre. Spawned in Birmingham in 1988 by Justin Broadrick (formerly the guitarist with Napalm Death) and bassist Christian Green - The simplicity of the line up characterised Godflesh's infamous appeal, with the on-stage use of a drum machine and various collaborative contributions from musicians within the industry.

'Night On The Sun' is a mini album by alternative rock band Modest Mouse, originally released in 1999 as a limited edition Japan-only album and again (in slightly different form) in 2000 on four track vinyl in the US and UK. The tracks on the Japanese Rebel Beat Factory label were taken from 'The Moon & Antarctica' demos that the band sent to Epic Records. These four tracks ended up on 2001's 'Everywhere And His Nasty Parlour Tricks' EP. All of the songs on this edition of 'Night On The Sun' are different from the versions on 'The Moon & Antarctica' and 'Everywhere And His Nasty Parlour Tricks'. The versions on this release are generally longer. Pitchfork Media compared the release favourably to the works of The Velvet Underground, noting that the recording contained both characteristics of their earlier work as well as the musical direction taken after their major label debut album, 'The Moon & Antarctica'. Recorded at Jupiter Studio with Phil Ek. Bass on 'You're The Good Things' was played by Ben Blankenship.

Everyone's favourite irreverently raucous trio of Texan pop punksters are back with their second album of trailer trash anthems and odes to getting by in the Southern states of the US. Incendiary live and unmistakable to boot with their singing drummer Hannah Brewer, 'Bodacious' features plenty for those that bought into the joyous noise of their '409' debut and expands the band's palette with the more 'indie' leaning sound of the likes of 'Pretty Mouth' or 'Bliss'.

The LP pressings are straight from the US and include a digital download code.

'Teeth' is the brand new 7' single by North Wales' Seazoo and is released by Too Pure. A pop nugget featuring skuzzed guitars, restored chapel organ and Terry the old Korg synth. The B side, 'Skulls', was specially written for the release but turned out much better than planned. It almost took the A side slot for a second and has split the band. They're still speaking to each other, barely. Seazoo are an act that started out as nothing more than a bedroom recording project in 2013. Surprising momentum built however, as their Grandaddy / Yo La Tengo / SFA-inspired recordings began to gain support from the BBC. Huw Stephens, Lauren Laverne, Steve Lamacq and Mark Radcliffe have all played previous tunes from the 'Ken', 'Car Deborah' and 'Jumbo' EPs. Marc Riley invited them to perform a live session for his 6Music show in March 2015. They accepted, ferociously. The band have brightened up Green Man, Festival No. 6, Lost Map's Howlin' Fling on Eigg, Swn, Truck, The Great Escape and even the legendary basketball court that is Maida Vale Studio 3.

The Parrots release a 7' featuring the tracks 'No Me Gustas, Te Quiero' and 'Let's Do It Again'. Released on Heavenly Recordings, the tracks are taken from the band's forthcoming debut album, 'Los Niños Sin Miedo'. The tracks were recorded last September during the album sessions with Paco Loco at his studio in Cádiz. Having played a handful of raucous shows at this year's Great Escape Festival in Brighton and a storming set at The Crow's Nest at Glastonbury, the band return to the UK later in the summer for a run of shows.

Considered by many to be one of the best live albums of all time, this classic album by The Allman Brothers Band, recorded at the pinnacle of their success, was a huge hit for the band. In 1971 The Allman Brothers Band was already one of the most popular groups in America, but by the time this album hit the streets their brand of Southern rock had become a national obsession. One of Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Albums Of All Time," it was the band's last with guitar hero Duane Allman, who was killed in a motorcycle accident later that year. Two 180-gram LPs with two bonus tracks.

Hämmernde Beats, uferlose Klangkaskaden, facettenreiche Motive und manische Sounds - sie bilden das Gerüst, auf dem sich Camera bewegt. Häufig wird die Berliner Band mit Neu! und La Düsseldorf, den Krautrock-Ikonen der Siebzigerjahre, verglichen. Und man muss sagen: zu Recht! Camera ist tight, vorwärts treibend und dennoch unberechenbar. Michael Drummer und Steffen Kahles verstehen es perfekt, kleine musikalische Nuancen zu Vulkanausbrüchen mutieren zu lassen. "Phantom Of Liberty" ist das dritte Album, das die beiden Musiker als Camera vorlegen. Auf diesem hört man geschickt eingesetzte Soundspielereien. So zum Beispiel Synthie-Klänge, die den Hörer mitten in ein C64-Spiel des Jahres 1984 beamen, oder leicht leiernde Keyboard-Flächen, als hätten Drummer und Kahles die Geschwindigkeit einer alten Bandmaschine bewusst manipuliert. Mit all dem zeigen die Zwei, dass ihr Tribal-Kraut-Beat reifer und vielschichtiger geworden ist, aber glücklicherweise nichts von seiner gewaltigen Energie verloren hat. Explosiv.

As the cream rises to the top inside today's inner circle/collector scene of private press psych/progressive/outlaw albums from the 60s and early 70s, it is commonly known that this is one of THE premier power trio albums of all time! Stunning lyrical guitar/bass frameworks, excellent wasted vocals... imagine a dream cross between Wishbone Ash and the James Gang, aged with a veteran southern Minnesota trucker speed festival vibe. This album is extremely rare, especially in this condition. This stays in our owner's collection if we don't get what we think it's worth---which, we will admit, is quite a bit in these slow economic times, but worth every penny.

Widely regarded as the best of the early Jade Warrior albums, "Last Autumn's Dream" is their definitive effort, regarding of their maturity and versatility as well, even though it stands alone as one of the best "Proto-progressive works" of the seventies, in the UK. Their line-up was made with a five piece, including Alan Price on drums and Dave Duhig on guitar, but unlike its predecessor, this album was more in the vein of their debut album, along with some remarkable tunes such as "Lady of the Lake", "Winter's Tale" and "May Queen" - whose composition combines such an Oriental music stuff, within a rock apparatus...recommended as an original work, perhaps a bit simplistic, but always fresh!!

Josefus' second album was actually an improvement over the band's first (Dead Man), by virtue of its more versatile songwriting, slightly better riffs, and occasional drifts beyond sub-Led Zeppelin-style early metal. All that considered, it's still a pedestrian Led Zeppelin-like Texas take on early hard rock-metal, though Pete Bailey's vocals are a little less obviously in the Robert Plant mold this time around. Less blues-based than Dead Man as well, it contains some of their better songs in "America," which shows the influence of lighter California-styled psychedelia, the odd "Jimmy, Jimmy," apparently about a friend unfairly institutionalized for freaking out (inspired by fellow Texan Roky Erickson by any chance), and, most surprisingly, the gentle country-rock of "Such Is Life." (Italian imprint Akarma reissued the album as an expanded version, complete with six bonus tracks.)

The long sought after final record on the legendary Better Days label, Utakata No Hibi is the culmination of composer and bandleader Yasuaki Shimizu's early-80s work, often compared to his contemporaries Ryuichi Sakamoto and Haruomi Hosono, as well as experimental new wavers Flying Lizards/David Cunningham, all of whom Shimizu has worked with. Recognized in Japan for the hit, 'Shinzo No Tobira,'' the entire record is a masterful studio production of Japanes folk and pop idioms filtered through a chamber disco, new wave, synth production, sounding more relevant today that upon its release over 30 years ago. Issued by Palto Flats Records, Utakata NO Hibi is fully licensed by Columbia japan and the Aritst and remasterd by Dubplates in Berlin. The packaging features additional artwork from Ira Okudaira, who created the original stunning jacket drawings. It retains the original double 12'' 45 rpm play format, and includes a full English translation of the Japanese and Armenian lyrics on the printed inner sleeves.
