Vinyl limited to 250 and CD digipak limited to 300 - Every show Beggar have played of late, they've been the band that people have left talking about. It's taken people a while to catch on, with Beggar starting life in Bristol in 2012 before resettling later in London, but the main point is, people are realising now what we have; a band who stand out from the crowd whilst fully feeling at home in the crowd they stand out of. A series of EP's released from 2015 to 2017 - Shingles + House of Man, Caramel Cigarette and Chainscraper respectively - was what little we had to go on with pre-APF Beggar, and those releases left us begging for more Beggar; and we finally got a taste more with their first release on APF, the single 'Nine Atmospheres'. Masterfully able to flick that switch from crushing, to breathing space, back to an avalanche of volume again without a single sweat is second nature to these lads and it makes for surprising diversity in their sporadic spattering of releases. In parts Bongzilla, in parts Kyuss; at points approaching the blackened and at others leaning towards blues; as a whole uniquely their own. Many a monolithically heavy band have injected a diversion into spacerock fantasy within an otherwise gut-wrenching collection of riffs, but few have done it quite as effortlessly as Beggar. ‘Free World’ is the first full-length issue from an
ongoing collaboration between Behavior (Bedros
Yeretzian, Evan Burrows, Justin Tenney, Robbie
Cody) and Mayako XO (Sara Gernsbacher). It was
tracked between 2019 and 2020 and assembled
over the course of the last year in Los Angeles.
 The album reflects its creation under open-ended
yet intent circumstances. What’s recorded is a
tangled pas de deux between discredited and
demonstrative characters, singing through shifting
voices over a living, melancholic music rendered
legible by surveillance.

This is the first ever stand-alone vinyl release of the Bel Canto Orquestra"s legendary concert in Montpellier in 1983. Founded by Pascal Comelade, Pierre Bastien, Cathy Claret and Laurent Churet, the Bel Canto Orquestra was constituted of toy instruments only. During its lifetime from 1983 to 2015, other members included Victor Nubla, Pip Pyle, Jac Berrocal and many more. Includes bonus track "Résumé Du Concert Du Bel Canto Orquestra Du 7 Mai 1992" which is a never before released piano summary of the Orquestra"s 1992 concert.

Am 26.04.2024 erscheint das neue Belgrad Album "Lysis". Sieben Jahre sind seit ihrem selbstbetitelten Debüt-Album (Musikexpress: "Die ernsthafteste deutsche Platte das Jahres.") vergangen. Die Band aus Hamburg und Berlin hat sich Zeit genommen und erwartet dies auch von den Hörer*innen: Es ist die erste Doppel-LP auf dem Zeitstrafe Label - rund 75 Minuten Musik für alle, die sich das in dieser Playlist-dominierten Ära noch zutrauen. Wer es tut, wird mit zwölf außergewöhnlichen Songs beschenkt, die die Aufmerksamkeit und Spannung konstant hochhalten. Die Klammer des Albums sind der Prolog (gesprochen von Jürgen Vogel) und der Epilog, die "Lysis" so sanft wie inhaltlich niederschmetternd einrahmen, dass man am Ende ersteinmal tief Luft holen muss. Hier tut sich eine Welt auf, die viel mehr ist, als nur eine Aneinanderreihung von Songs. Es wird keine Singles geben. Es wird keine Promoschnippsel, Teaser oder Shout-outs geben. Keinen Vorlauf. Hier ist "Lysis" von Hendrik Rosenkranz, Lev Leopoldowitsch und Stephan Mahler. Ein meisterliches Postpunk-Manifest, in Gänze.

Das dritte Album enthält nicht weniger als sechs Hitsingles: 'Leave A Light On' (inkl. Gitarrensolo von George Harrison), 'La Luna', 'Runaway Horses', 'Vision Of You' und '(We Want) The Same Thing' sowie 'Summer Rain'. Das Album wurde im Oktober 1989 veröffentlicht und erreichte Platz # 4 in GB und damit Platin. Dies auch in Kanada, Australien und Schweden, sowie Gold in den USA. Diese Neuauflage wurde von Barry Grint bei AIR Mastering fachmännisch von den Original-Stereobändern mit präzisem Half-Speed-Mastering bearbeitet. Bei dieser Technik handelt es sich um eine Vinyl-Schnitttechnik, die die Groove-Genauigkeit sowie die Transiente-Informationen verbessert, und ein sehr detailliertes Stereo-Bild mit einem natürlichen Hochfrequenzgang erzeugt. Präsentiert in der Originalhülle, gepresst auf 180Gr. schwarzem Vinyl, mit Obi-Strip und wattierter Innenhülle. Dazu alle Lyrics und Credits auf der 4-seitigen, großformatigen Beilage.

Das zweite Soloalbum von 1987 erwies sich als ihr internationaler Durchbruch: Die Single 'Heaven Is A Place On Earth' erreichte weltweit Platz 1. Es folgten 'Circle In The Sand', 'I Get Weak' und 'World Without You', allesamt britische Top-40-Hits. Das Album wurde in den USA und Australien mit Platin und in Großbritannien mit dreifachem Platin ausgezeichnet, was einem Umsatz von fast einer Million Exemplaren entspricht. Diese Neuauflage wurde von Cicely Balston bei AIR Mastering von den Original-Stereobändern mit präzisem Half-Speed-Mastering geschnitten. Beim Half-Speed-Mastering handelt es sich um eine Vinyl-Schnitttechnik, die die Groove-Genauigkeit und die Transiente-Informationen verbessert und ein detailliertes Stereobild mit einem natürlichen Hochfrequenzgang erzeugt. LP gepresst auf 180Gr. Vinyl inkl. Obi-Strip und wattierter Innenhülle. Dazu mit allen Lyrics und Credits auf der 4-seitigen Beilage.

• Although the album was produced by David Tickle, Belinda’s sole album for the Chrysalis label in 1996
saw her re-united with the writers of her biggest chart successes, Rick Nowels, Ellen Shipley and fellow
Go-Go Charlotte Caffey. Nowels’ “In Too Deep” reached # 6 and Roxette’s Per Gessle’s “Always
Breaking My Heart” was another Top 10 hit. “Love In The Key Of C” followed them into the charts,
while the fourth hit “California” features backing vocals from none other than Brian Wilson.
• The two bonus LPs feature seventeen tracks: non-album B-sides, including covers of “Jealous Guy” and
“The Ballad Of Lucy Jordan”, plus “I Won’t Say I’m In Love” – Belinda’s contribution to the soundtrack
of the Disney film “Hercules”, a cover of the Sex Pistols’ “Submission” recorded with Radiator for a
compilation album, plus live and acoustic versions of her earlier hits, and three very rare remixes.

Storytelling was released on 3rd June 2002 as the soundtrack to the Todd Solondz movie of the same name.It was recorded and produced in 2001 at the famous The Magic Shop Recording Studio in New York which closed in 2016. Some tracks were also recorded at Water Music Recording Studios in Hoboken, New Jersey and CaVa Studios, Glasgow.

Belle and Sebastian's A Bit of Previous is a classic album that found the pair at their melodic best. It showcase their superb knack for songwriting and will fill your head with earworms and pithy lyrics that you will not be able to forget. REPRESS. Greenferno is the second studio album by the Polish stoner doom band Belzebong. Recorded in early 2015 and the first release to feature second drummer Hexy Dude. Belzebong are a stoner metal band from Kielce, Poland. Since the band's formation in 2008 they currently have three albums under their belt and have toured Europe on multiple occasions. Along with their weed-themed instrumental doom the band is best known for their "Dude" pseudonyms, keeping their faces obscured whether by hair or fog and tongue-in-cheek nature to their music as implicated in many interviews. All of their music to date, barring samples, is instrumental.

Nun legt er mit seiner zweiten Single „Walking Backwards“ nach und bietet seinen Fans damit einen weiteren vielversprechenden Vorgeschmack auf sein bald erscheinendes Album.

„Is It?“ wird sein fünftes Studioalbum sein, welches insgesamt 10 Songs umfasst. Es entstand in der Zeit, als der Brite ganz unerwartet zwei kleine Schlaganfälle erlitt. Indie-pop singer-songwriter, composer and producer Australia’s Ben Lee releases his 14th solo studio album “I’m Fun!”. The new album features guests Zooey Deschanel, Christian Lee Hutson, Money Mark, Megan Washington, Georgia Maq, Eric D Johnson.

On the album, Ben Lee says “This album, this moment in my career, is all about balancing some hard-earned wisdom from a 30-year long career with the vigor and energy of youth. That’s why it was as important to me to collab with artists like Jon Brion and Money Mark who I’ve both known for over 2 decades, as much as people like Shamir and Georgia Maq who are young and lit up with creative adrenaline. I like being a generational bridge between freaky artists. They are my tribe!”
Even before the launch of his solo career, Ben attracted attention in his teens as a member of the Sydney band Noise Addict. Following the band’s demise in the mid-90s, he began issuing a string of acclaimed solo albums while taking part in several side projects, including The Bens (Ben Folds, Ben Kweller, Ben Lee).

In his 30-year music career, Ben Lee has been gloriously prolific and unpredictable. The 4x ARIA award winning artist boasts an enviable catalogue including ‘Grandpa Would’ 1995, ‘Something To Remember Me By’ [1997], ‘Breathing Tornados’[1998], 2x ARIA Platinum album ‘Awake In New Sleep’[2005], ‘Ripe’ [2007], ‘The Rebirth of Venus’[2009], ‘Deeper Into Dream’ [2011] which have collectively spawned a multitude of chart hits, including “Cigarettes Will Kill You”, “Gamble Everything For Love”, “We're All in This Together” and “Catch My Disease”

Ben Nichols is best known as the frontman and songwriter for the long-running Memphis rock band Lucero. Now, at age 50, he is releasing one of his most personal pieces of work, a rare solo album titled In the Heart of the Mountain.
The album features Nichols on acoustic guitar and vocals, as well as the occasional electric guitar solo and percussion. He is accompanied by Morgan Eve Swain (The Huntress and the Holder of Hands, The Devil Makes Three, Brown Bird) on violin and backing vocals, Cory Branan on electric and acoustic guitars, and Todd Beene (Chuck Ragan, Glossary) on pedal steel and electric guitars. It was recorded at Southern Grooves studio in Memphis, Tennessee with Matt Ross-Spang as the recording and mixing engineer.

Says Nichols 'I'd say In the Heart of the Mountain is the closest I've come to making an album completely on my own terms. I had help from a great engineer and great friends who also happened to be amazing studio musicians, but it was self produced. I wrote it without input from anyone else. There were no band members to negotiate parts and approaches with. It wasn't based on a novel or a theme. The only inspiration was that desire to create something that lived in my memories of those rivers, fields, and mountains,
in that mythological Arkansas my family called home, where I grew up. I haven't been able to get back there nearly as often as I would like."

Lucero lead singer Ben Nichols and keyboardist Rick Steff spent a day at Grammy Award winning engineer Matt Ross-Spang's Southern Grooves Studio in Memphis, TN recording acoustic versions of Lucero songs. Spanning the band's career, the songs range from some of Lucero's most popular crowd favorites to more obscure rarities and were all recorded live in the studio featuring grand piano and acoustic guitar. The double album, Lucero Unplugged, presents 20 stripped down tracks that offer fresh takes on the band's exceptional catalogue.

The band has only been around since March 2016, and they've been doing the live thing steadily ever since, even if their entire evening's material was just 20 minutes at the time. Since then, guitarist Morgan Griffith, bassist Lewis Waite and drummer Jordan Hicks have acted as a perfect, laid-back unit. Benefits are an issues-based music collective from Teesside in the
North East of England. They write songs about the urgencies that
concern them, and they play them loud.

Forming in 2019 and consisting of Kingsley Hall on vocals, Robbie
Major and Hugh Major on synths and noise, and Jonny Snowball
on drums, they quickly evolved from a standard shouty punk rock
outfit into a minimalist, overtly political band that merges noise,
hip-hop and industrial rock, creating an effect that feels urgent,
darkly hilarious and unsettling all at once.

Thus far, Benefits have been completely DIY yet, via a succession
of digital singles and accompanying videos through 2021, they
built a following that enabled them to complete a sold-out headline
UK tour in March 2022. They also gained fans in high places,
including Sleaford Mods, Black Francis, Garbage and Elijah Wood
and Steve Albini.

James and Ryan of Yard Act were also instant admirers and that’s
where their label Zen F.C. comes in. Using their ill-gotten major
label gains Zen F.C. are pressing Benefit’s single ‘Flag’ (backed
with ‘Empire’) on vinyl.

On working with Yard Act, Kingsley comments: “I think Benefits
come at some of the same subject matter that they talk about but
from a slightly different angle (and by ‘slightly different’ I really
mean ‘more frequent swearing’, though we've never said the C
word in a song unlike...ahem). We appreciate every bit of help
we’ve had off them, we just wish we could somehow repay that
kindness (not monetarily mind, we're totally skint).”

Yard Act’s James Smith says of the release: “Lots of bands are
saying all this stuff so what makes Benefits so special? Why do I
need to be told what I already know over and over again by a
shouty man from Teesside? Well, because no one else is saying it
with such physicality they sound like their voice box is about to
leap from their throat and eat your eyeballs. With that little bit of
influence we’ve garnered and the small fortune of money we now
have kicking about, I’m so glad we can play a part in spreading the
word on Benefits, because I think they’re well on their way to a
classic debut album, and I’m going to fucking love being able to
brag about how important I was in making it all happen.”

You may recognise this fine fellow as the bass player for such acts as Spoon, Lee Fields' Expressions, Reigning Sound and The Jay Vons. Or perhaps you've heard the man himself wailing away on several well-received 45's released on Wick Records and compiled on the digital EP 'Hey Lovers'.

With 'Do You Still Think of Me?', his debut album for Wick Records, Trokan takes the listener through the full spectrum of 60s influenced music: the moody teen-beat bop of 'Save a Place', the garage dwelling angst of 'Nowhere to Be Found', to the sweet soul sound of the title track.
