'Wants List 4' has been compiled in response to customer demand, ten years after Wants List 3. It features some great in demand tracks from the 70's rediscovered in the UK's Rare Groove and Modern Soul Scene's from the mid 80's onwards, several are appearing on a compilation for the first time and some are being reissued on CD or Vinyl for the first time ever. Harold Wheeler Consort 'Black Cream' is a wonderfully lush semi-instrumental funky soul cut that has been sampled many times over the last 20 years. Almeta Lattimore beautiful 'These memories' is an extremely rare 45 fetching upwards to £400. It is 70's Modern Soul at its finest!
Mary Clark's 'You Got Your Hold on Me' is another great slab of rare mid tempo soul produced by Patrick Adams and Billy Nichols which is reissued here for the first time. Tommy McGee rare 45 'Now That I Have You' that has been in demand on both the Rare Groove and Modern Soul scenes for decades, makes it's CD and Compilation debut. Dee Edwards '(I Can) Deal With That' is a wonderful record has been heralded on the Two-Step, Modern Soul and Funk scenes over the past 25 years. Bob Dylan and Tom Petty formed one of the most legendary live pairings of the 1980s. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' 1989 Strange Behaviour tour found the band in somewhat troubled territory promoting what was Petty's acclaimed debut solo album Full Moon Fever, a collaborative effort that involved most of The Heartbreakers and ELO's Jeff Lynne. To add to the discomfort, Petty and Lynne were also cavorting to great success as the Travelling Wilburys with Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan and George Harrison.
The Heartbreakers gave an energetic and charged performance showing that the band were still very much intact and in control, teasing the crowd with a selection of their revered repertoire spanning eight albums and thirteen years of all-American appeal.

South London members Alan Lancaster (bass) and Francis Rossi (guitar) were the original members and founders of Status Quo. Formerly known as The Spectres and later renamed to Traffic or Traffic Jam they settled for Status Quo as their band name in 1967. The following years they were joined by John Coghlan (drums), Roy Lynes (keyboard) and Rick Parfitt (guitar †2016), and after several band members changes are still performing today in a revamped line-up.

In 1968 their first hit record Pictures of Matchstick Men' was released and the debut album soon followed. The subsequent years Status Quo, or simply Quo, enjoyed a multitude of hits, Mean Girl', Down Down', Rockin' All Over The World', The Wanderer', In The Army Now', Roll Over Lay Down (Live)', all climbed the charts in different countries.

During the years Status Quo developed their own signature style of heavy rhythms, a few guitar chords, straightforward, accessible lyrics and collected a huge and loyal fan base. In 2006 NME magazine named Status Quo The Most Successful UK band' as they achieved more chart hits than any other British band.

The 2 LP Collected compilation is an era spanning selection of Status Quo including the hits, 4 original mono recordings Pictures Of Matchstick Men', Ice In The Sun', I (Who Have Nothing)' by The Spectres, Almost But Not Quite There' by Traffic Jam and is newly remastered for vinyl.

This limited edition is pressed on purple vinyl, includes a 4-page booklet with liner notes and is packed in a limited gatefold embossed guitar' sleeve. Once the first pressing is sold out, the Collected album is available on black vinyl.

In the spring of 1962, folk music manager Albert Grossman began to take an active interest in Dylan. He proposed that Dylan sign with the prestigious publisher M. Witmark & Sons. Dylan signed a contract with Witmark on July 12 and immediately recorded a demo of what would become his breakthrough song, "Blowin' in the Wind". Four months passed before Dylan returned to record another song, "Ye Playboys and Playgirls", but the next month, in December, he showed up with many new compositions, including three that would become classics of his, "A Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall", "Ballad of Hollis Brown", and "Tomorrow Is a Long Time". All of Dylan's 1962 demos for Witmark are reproduced here on Wax Love.

As America left the clouds of world war behind, no-one personified their hopes and dreams more than the beautiful, freckle-faced Doris Day. The nation's favourite blonde was not only an in-demand singer but an Oscar-winning actress - yet she remained engagingly modest and unfailingly approachable. The Hollywood mood of the Fifties was light and upbeat, and Day was very much in tune with the times. Enjoy this superb LP with some of her best songs.

'N SYNC is the self-titled debut studio album by American boy band 'N SYNC (also written as N SYNC and NSYNC), originally released in 1997. 'N SYNC consisted of Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, and Lance Bass.

Singles I Want You Back', Tearin' Up My Heart', Here We Go' and For the Girl Who Has Everything' became huge chart-busters and the album eventually sold over 15 million copies worldwide.

Although 'N SYNC announced the start of a temporary hiatus' in early 2002, the band has not recorded new material since then. Justin Timberlake went on to become a very successful solo artist with several multi-platinum albums. In 2007, Lance Bass confirmed that the group had definitely broken up.' Beauty And The Beast is the latest in the series of special limited edition David Bowie 7' picture discs being released and will be out on 5th January 2018, almost 40 years to the day of its original release on 6th January 1978.

Beauty And The Beast was the second single taken from the album Heroes, the second of the Berlin Trilogy albums recorded with Tony Visconti and Brian Eno at the legendary Hansa Studios in Berlin. The track also features Robert Fripp of King Crimson on lead guitar, who claims that his guitar was all recorded in his first take.

The A-Side of the 7' picture disc features the track with newly remastered audio, mixed by long-time Bowie collaborator Tony Visconti. The AA-Side is a previously unreleased live version of Blackout, recorded live at Deutschlandhalle, Berlin on 16th May 1978 during the ISOLAR II tour.

Elvis fans growing up in the 1960's and 1970's unwittingly listened to his 1950's catalogue in electronically reprocessed stereo, love it or loathe, it was pretty much all there was back then unless you could afford to track down expensive mono copies. To better understand where the electronically reprocessed stereo versions originate from, we need to go back to 1961, at which point RCA had begun the process of taking Elvis' 1950's mono masters and converting them into a stereo sounding effect. By 1960 when Elvis returned from the army, he was recording in true stereo and as far as RCA were concerned, mono was a thing of the past. You just need to listen to the sound quality of the 1960 'Living Stereo' version of the 'Elvis Is Back' album, to appreciate just how much the recording industry had moved on in just two years. Such was the demand for stereo records in the early 1960's most major labels had created their own process for converting mono into stereo or 'fake' stereo as it became known, with some labels producing better results than others. Opinions on Elvis' 1960's electronically reprocessed stereo versions are mixed, with some recordings making the transition from mono to stereo effect better than others. Some DJ's actually preferred playing the electronically reprocessed stereo versions, believing they gave a wider fuller sound on the dancefloor. By late 1970's, RCA had once again begun to re-issue original mono masters, giving many fans their first opportunity to hear how these tracks were originally issued. By the time compact discs had arrived on the scene in the 1980's, electronically reprocessed stereo was well and truly dead and buried. Very few electronically reprocessed stereo recordings ever made it onto a digital format and the few that did are now highly collectible. Recorded at RCA Studio 1, New York on the 30th of January 1956, My Baby Left Me is a driving powerhouse rockabilly masterpiece with a real Sun Records vibe to it (produced by Steve Scholes with Elvis on vocals and acoustic guitar, Scotty Moore on electric guitar, Bill Black on bass and D.J. Fontana on drums). Our flip side Blue Moon Of Kentucky is another rockabilly classic which first appeared as the opposite side to That's All Right (Sun 209) in 1955 (Elvis' first single). Blue Moon Of Kentucky was recorded on the 7th of July 1954 at Sun Records (produced by Sam Phillips with Elvis on vocals and acoustic guitar, Scotty Moore on electric guitar and Bill Black on bass). Both tracks have been painstakingly re-engineered to create a stereo effect sound. The result is a bigger, sharper sound that jumps straight outta the grooves at ya! One reviewer described the process as - it's as if a veil has been lifted off the tracks'. The Vivien Vee project, an Italian singer discovered and produced by young duo Claudio Simonetti - Giancarlo Meo, has certainly been one of the first and best attempts to impose a clear European-style disco music. The first tracks, as well as the sequels, will be released from the banana records and the real big international success comes in 1983 with this album "with vivien vee", thanks in particular to the 2 strong singles "Higher" and "Blue Disease". This album, produced entirely by Giancarlo Meo, contains, in this rare special edition, 6 tracks in extended original versions, very rare to be found individually. Featuring a sound that is still up to date, it also meets the most demanding palates for the finest style of the best disc, all in one single vinyl: From the powerful and robust funky electronic to "Destiny" and "Wanna Feel" reminding of the best production of Change and Peter Jacques Band, still transmitted by milano international classic, "Gotta Go" in pure Imagination style, to the absolute pearls in "Higher" (cult of disco-disco) and "Blue Disease" explosive electro break synth-pop. Particularly important is that the texts are signed by the great Rossana Casale. Basically a vinyl that is unmissable for any collector or fan of the best Italian productions in the 80's.

Hailing from Britain, with origins in Guyana, Jamaica, and St. Vincent, critics and historians agree that the world simply wasn't ready for Cymande. Formed in 1971, the band would become renowned for their progressive, and complex brand of funk music, which fused elements of calypso, jazz, R&B, African music, and British glam rock. Despite touring with Al Green, performing at venues like The Apollo and Soul Train, and having a Billboard R&B hit, Cymande languished in obscurity before disbanding in 1974, only to develop a widespread cult following over the years, and become a treasure trove for crate diggers and beatsmiths. Though their debut album was not a monster hit for Cymande, it allowed them enough fortunes to re-locate to the US, where they further developed their distinct blend of world-influenced funk, and took in the political climate. Their stay in America led to their 2nd album, 1973's Second Time Round, which cultivated afro-inspired arrangements, as well as fusions of reggae and jazz, and a touch of social commentary thrown in. While Second Time Round didn't reach even the minor level of success of Cymande's debut, it did render a dancehall monster in the track "Fug", and numerous other underrated soulful classics. A definite must for any deep funk historian worth their salt.

The Doors' 50th anniversary celebration continues this summer with a new Singles collections that spotlight every single and B-side the band released in the U.S., all gathered together for the first time.

THE SINGLES shows the creative chemistry shared by drummer John Densmore, guitarist Robby Krieger, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, and vocalist Jim Morrison, four brilliant artists who made The Doors one of America's most iconic and influential rock bands.
The collection includes the single versions from all six of the landmark studio albums the quartet released between 1967 and 1971, including classics like People Are Strange,' Love Her Madly' and Riders On The Storm.' Also included on the CD versions are four mono radio versions of some of the band's biggest hits, such as Hello, I Love You' and Touch Me,' which have never been made available anywhere after being sent to radio around their original release. The B-sides - many of which are making their CD debut - add another dimension to the band's legacy with such stellar tracks as Who Scared You,' which appeared in March 1969 as the flipside to Wishful Sinful,' and a cover of Willie Dixon's (You Need Meat) Don't Go No Further,' which was paired with the 1971 smash Love Her Madly.'
THE SINGLES also features several songs released after Morrison's passing in 1971. Among those recordings are tracks the surviving trio recorded together ( Tightrope Ride' and The Mosquito'), as well as live selections from posthumous releases ( Roadhouse Blues' and Gloria.')
The Blu-ray disc that accompanies the expanded version of THE SINGLES features a high-resolution Quadraphonic mix of The Best Of The Doors. This 11-song compilation, available on Blu-ray for the first time, was remixed specifically for Quad in 1973 and offers a unique sonic experience on songs like Soul Kitchen,' Moonlight Drive' and Love Me Two Times.'

Emotional Tattoos' is the sensational new album by Premiata Forneria Marconi (aka PFM), Italy's most legendary progressive rock band! PFM was honoured with position #50 in the UK Classic Rock Hall of Fame' of the 100 most important artists in the world as well as being awarded two gold records in their home country in 1971 and 1997. Nigeria's Kingsley Bucknor's 'Just U and Me' LP gets the long-awaited reissue treatment from Melbourne's Left Ear Records. After cutting his teeth playing with Fela in the 70's and releasing two afrobeat LP's Kingsley travelled the globe before finding himself in London, it's here that he laid down 6 distinctive electro-funk tunes inspired by African rhythms and music he'd heard through his travels in the States and in Europe. Originally issued on Kinglsley's own KAB records in '85 and according to Kingsley the release was well received at the time, but due to constraints of international marketing the record remained mostly unknown outside of his homeland. Fast-forward to 2017 and the stage is set for a new global audience to appreciate the distinct sound of KB.
