A House Safe For Tigers is the soundtrack to one of the seven TV movies Lee Hazlewood made with the director Torbjörn Axelman during his period living in Sweden in the early 1970s. Hazlewood had moved there to lay low and to help his son avoid the draft, but wound up finding happiness and creative freedom. Many of the albums recorded in Sweden made their way no further than Scandinavia, but of them all, A House Safe For Tigers is the holy grail for collectors, often changing hands for hundreds of dollars.
*Originally only available in Sweden, this marks the first time Tigers has been reissued and available the world over. The movie was a 'semi-documentary' featuring Hazlewood and his friend Axelman, looking back to childhood and contemplating the meaning of life. In it, Hazlewood runs a marathon, tells anecdotes about a bum who cured his stutter and convinces a group of Swedish children to take sides against Richard Nixon. 'It's strange, very strange,' Hazlewood said, 'But we meant it to be strange.

In this highly anticipated reunion with Brian Eno (Bowie recorded his 'Berlin Trilogy' with Eno), The Long Thin Duke tells us the story of Nathan Adler, as he investigates 'The Ritual Art-Murder of Baby Grace Blue: A Non-Linear Gothic Drama Hyper-Cycle'. It's a dystopian piece, a portrayal of the end of the world, and what better time to re-release it than in the last year of the Mayan calendar Bowie and Eno recorded the album during improvised sessions, in which Eno would hand out flashcards as a guiding light. But the light was always distorted, and would for example ask the musicians to imagine they were 'the disgruntled member of a South African Rock band. Slaves and Masters is the thirteenth studio album by Deep Purple, and was released in 1990. Deep Purple went through more than their share of personnel changes over the years. In 1990, their lineup consisted of guitarist Ritchie Blackmore (who had returned to the Purple fold in 1984 after leaving the band to form Rainbow following the release of Stormbringer in November 1974), singer Joe Lynn Turner(who was once the lead singer of Rainbow), keyboardist/organist Jon Lord, drummer Ian Paice, and bassist Roger Glover. Longtime Purple followers where more than happy with the return of Blackmore. 'King Of Dreams,' 'The Cut Runs Deep,' and 'Fire In The Basement' are all classic Deep Purple tracks. Blackmore's guitar solos and Lord's keyboard runs harp back to the Deep Purple of old.The album sounds like a cross between a Rainbow and a Deep Purple album. The Booma Rockers were a London house-band put together by a young producer and songwriter from Guyana, Terry Nelson aka Omar Farouk. Nelson released approximately thirty 45s on his labels Halagala, Booma and Rude Boy in the late 1960 and early 1970s before returning home to Guyana to start a successful and well loved TV station.

The majority of the records were of the ska and rocksteady persuasion but one or two stick out as being slightly different.

'Soul Food', a super weighty instrumental soul / blues / funk b-side was released in 1969/70 on Rude Boy Records featuring amongst others Ghanaian saxophonist and vocalist Teddy Osei (who went on to form the Afro rock band Osibisa). 'Booma Woman' was also a B-side in a more reggae-funk style released possibly a year later featuring vocalist Jean Manix.

Both have been out of print ever since and are re-released with the Nelson families' full permission.

Nelson was a very popular and well-loved figure in Guyanese society and many of his songs have become nationalist and political songs that have become part of the national psyche.

The 7' vinyl is limited to 1000 copies and comes with a free MP3 download of the release.

New label Sunkissed Records brings you the first in a series of fantastic compilation 12's featuring choice Balearic moments from different artists with the spotlight focused this time on blues rockers Fleetwood Mac. Kicking off the beach party is Arthur Baker's incredible extended dance version of the Mac classic 'Big Love' that became an staple at the early Ibiza parties as did the next track 'Ricky', a lost 7' B-side also caned on the White Isle in the late 80s. Finally on this side is the more up-tempo disco-tinged 'Keep on Going' keeping the floor moving. Kicking off the B-side is the mesmerisingly dreamy groover 'Hypnotised' a true Balearic classic followed by two more sunkissed delights, the sublimely sensual 'Brown Eyes', and finally 'World Turning' a bluesy stormer with some amazing percussion that also found much favour in Ibiza. An essential slab of vinyl and a must-have for that perfect sunset record box.

Dieter Meier, heir turned conceptual artist, joined Boris Blank to form the electronic synth group Yello in the late '70s, but it wasn't until the late '80s that they had their biggest success with the international hit "The Race", which was used in advertisements and (sports) programs all over the world.

Combining samples and beats with Meier's deep and distinctive voice, Yello became experts in combining the suave with the eclectic. 1989's Flag contains the hit "The Race" next to a number of experiments on Afro-Cuban rhythms, such as on "Tied Up".

This first vinyl re-release since 1989 comes with an insert.
