Tremor releases his debut album, ‘A Previous Encounter’ on Subsist Records. A 10 track journey into all corners of his minimalist sound, spanning from high intensity sequences to deep, cascading modulated loops.

Tremor is a 22 year old, Glasgow based techno artist and hardware enthusiast with a very unique, minimalist sequence-driven sound. His early inspiration was drawn from artists such as Sleeparchive and DVS1 and this shows in his stripped back production. He now looks forward to showcasing his sound of techno on Subsist Records with his debut 10 track LP - ‘A Previous Encounter’.

For the seventh release on their main catalogue Keepsakes and Jaded Nineties Raver are once again working with Ireland's top up-and-comer in the world of ridiculous techno bangers, Tommy Holohan, for the second release in his "Skull Crushing Techniques" series. Following on from the success of his debut vinyl release on Haven last year, this release is just as banging, but represents a new turn in the young producer's sound with greater focus on hardcore euphoria.

The A1 begins the record with "Unedeuxtrois", where the skill of Tommy's rolling drum programming shines through alongside cheeky sampling of French TV and the bliss of his new-found melodic pad work. This is followed by "Fear What You Don't Understand" on the A2 - featuring the same impressive drum skills propelled forward by a true ear-worm vocal sample that will see this track gracing many a dance floor. The B-side kicks off with "Trancegression' and it's euphoric pads and tight rhythmic patterns in another perfect hardcore-inspired smasher. This is followed with a cheeky jungle number on the B2 with "Father" - containing hectic breaks, uplifting pads and piano stabs to make for the perfect recipe for a rowdy 160bpm banger. The EP ends with the ambient exploration of "Mega.D", with emotional and slowly evolving melodies creating the ideal wind-down to an EP filled with addictive dance floor fodder.

Thomas and I met a while ago on a dancefloor, however our friendship sealed for good when we met online playing endless Splatoon sessions on Nintendo Switch. Our common interest in a broad range of things and music in particular led to a deep exchange of ideas when it comes to the love for the vinyl product. Having started the label last year with DJ DEEPs VAINCRE EP, I can surely state that Thomas was kind of a mentor and of countless help when it comes to setting things up. I therefore couldn't be happier and more thankful to welcome him to the CHILDHOOD family with BLITHE SPIRIT, a true masterclass EP ranging from experimental and complex rhythms, over driving dancefloor madness to soulful early morning ecstasy cuts. Originally composed around 1994-1999, James Bernard's Unreleased Works have lie dormant bar a select group of friends who were lucky enough to experience the release through an extremely limited CDr. Over 25 years later, James and A Strangely Isolated Place have repackaged this deeply personal collection of acid-infused ambient-breaks into two LPs and one extended digital album: Volume 1 (Acid Dreams) and Volume 2 (Elemental Dreams). Arriving at a time when James was primarily producing Trance and Acid under his Influx or Cybertrax aliases on Rising High Records, these compositions came to life when James felt most vulnerable and his style most malleable. The music was never intended to be heard by the outside world and was a remedy for his own private centering - a personal journal through tough times. Encouraged by close friends to rip copies to CDr after a few tracks were posted online, the album has since been long-sought-after and confined to the Discogs want lists. Originally spanning 3 CDs and themed in styles ranging from 'Beatless', to 'Beats' and finally 'Beats and Modular', it was a descriptive yet humble description for the tantalizing journey that lies within. The recordings combined elements of what is only now (over twenty years later) evident within James' extensive production arsenal over the years. Be it pure melodic modular synthesizer work, emotional chords, chugging trip-hop basslines, euphoric acid-lines, ambient-leaning trance, or a simple combination of all of the above; trying to further categorize the extensive work at play here is ultimately irrelevant past these notes.To help present the album in an updated and digestible concept, the full 28 tracks were reduced to 20 and further sequenced between two thematic vinyl editions. Volume 1 (Acid Dreams) on transparent yellow vinyl, takes its cues from the 303 with acid-soaked basslines, epic breaks, and more futuristic-leaning escapism. Whereas Volume 2 (Elemental Dreams) on transparent orange vinyl, brings more organic elements to the trip, with samples from unexplored fantasy worlds, deeper dives down the rabbit hole, and a nod to the chill-out rooms of the '90s. Featuring artwork by Steve Hyland (Geometric Love) and fully remastered by Rafael Anton Irisarri, James Bernard's Unreleased Works is available as an extended Pre-order in two Gatefold 2LP editions and one full digital album.

Many people kept asking for a vinyl release so we figured we'd open the new Pure Coincidences series with these tracks.

The biggest 'hit' to date on Coincidence was definitely REMY-X' "The Body". Played in heavy rotation by I Hate Models, Amelie Lens and Marika Rossa among others, it was on number 1 for several weeks and got played 100k times on Soundcloud and streamed about the same amount of times. So it made sense to start the series with this bomb. The second track is by our longtime friend Esther Duijn who was remixed by Dutch Hardcore and Techno hero Ruffneck Prime.

11 years after their last EP on Break New Soil, we are psyched to welcome back two very good friends of ours and true heavyweights of the international Techno-community: Extrawelt return to Break New Soil with three magic tracks that once again showcase their versatility and unique artistic approach to making music. "Jetzt Neu: Alles Wie Früher“ is a fresh take on the energy that made us all fall in love with Extrawelt in the first place. Arne and Wayan were not even sure about releasing this belter as they don't want to repeat themselves - but luckily for all of us we could convince them. „Knackfrisch“ comes along fresh as a cucumber: A rhythmic powerhouse full of clever edits and tricks. It seems to constantly accelerate just to make sure it'll win the race against itself. Equipped with a massive kick, funky hihats and smashing percussions it aimes to set dancefloors on fire. Last but not least, „Treuepunkt“ is definitely one for the soul. Deep and driving with syncopated rhythms and lovely synthwork that is topped with a bleepy melody that could come from Detroit rather than from Hamburg. Renowned record label and events brand Renaissance announce the next release in their acclaimed The ReMix Collection - a scintillating reworking of Jaydee’s 1992 R&S classic ‘Plastic Dreams’ from one of the leading names in techno: Producer, DJ & MOOD Records label boss Nicole Moudaber.

Nicole Moudaber’s spectacular and atmospheric remix of ‘Plastic Dreams’ is already receiving strong DJ support, not least from Carl Cox, who has been playing it out as a highlight of his recent sets.

A track that Nicole Moudaber had always wanted to remix, when approaching such an iconic track as ‘Plastic Dreams’, she applied her trademark tough yet melodic sound, emphasising the jazzy bass notes and famous organ synthesiser refrain, to deliver a fresh and vibrant reworking.

On her remix, Nicole Moudaber said: “I didn’t want to lose the essence of this ground-breaking track. I kept the balance between house and techno and added a little touch of jazz. I was in New York when I first heard it; I was dancing, I was flying, I was connecting with people, I was making memories. I believe I gave it justice, I certainly gave it a lot of space and respect of its original identity.”

‘Plastic Dreams’ will be available as a Limited-Edition vinyl, produced to go toward part of a highly collectable and beautifully packaged 6 release box-set (6th release dropping at Christmas). The release features Nicole’s mix on the A-side, whilst the B features a remaster of the Original Long Version.

The ReMix Collection celebrates Renaissance’s proud heritage which has seen the brand at the forefront of electronic music since its inception in 1992. The concept behind the collection is to put a fresh and exciting take on seminal tracks that are closely connected with Renaissance’s early years.

Miles Atmospheric (real name Miles Sagnia) is a UK-based DJ, producer and label curator at Atmospheric Existence Recordings. He made his debut on the esteemed Bedrock imprint with "Calling You Out" being featured on label chief John Digweed's recent Quattro III mix. The original version is a slinky and hypnotic journey into the aether, as a backdrop to The Apparition's haunting monologue. The rework on the B side comes from legend Josh Wink (Ovum Recordings) and in fact it was his Paradise Dub that was featured on the aforementioned mix by Digweed, here reinterpreted as an ever more entrancing moment to losing yourself under the strobe lights.

Spandau20 welcomes Berlin's most notorious law practitioner Norman Nodge to the roster. The Berghain resident's first offering for the label ''The Raid'' comes in just as furious as one of his DJ sets. He is accompanied by longtime friends & former roommates Rifts & Dajusch, joining forces for ''Dubiety'' for the next release, which is rounded off by label owners FJAAK and their track ''Candide'' on the flip.

Rising talent Yant delivers a quadruplet of aces for his second outing on Jay Clarke's BLACKAXON imprint.

We got the first taste of Yant aka Andrew Tomlinson's production prowess with the transcendent "Cosmic Borders" EP in late 2018. Clarke had originally planned to keep Blackaxon purely as an outlet for his studio creations, but the quality of Yant's work convinced him otherwise.

The Hydro EP is an iridescent expression of Yant's musical sensibilities. "Hydro 1" provides driving rhythms from the off, before a heady concoction of synths and a lead siren drive the production home. "Hydro 2" is a dark pumper, reminiscent of earlier Blackaxon releases. It builds gradually, heavy on mood, before a propulsion of drums raises the energy to another level. A highlight of Clarke's set going back months, "Hydro 3" is a delicious synapse-searer, marked by swirling synths and Yant's trademark groove. "Hydro 4" is a textured, low-slung chugger, imbued with thrashing dancefloor attitude and a glint of euphoria.

Brooklyn based techno producer and Snazzy Fx boss. Much of the hardware Dan uses in his productions and live sets was designed and built by him. His focus as an artist is on electronic music as a vehicle for achieving transcendent states. This comes out in his sets as a respect for both the funky and hypnotic aspects of dance music. As a DJ and live act, Dan has performed throughout Europe and is a regular fixture in NYC.

2018 saw Dan release the "Exposure to a Steady Stream Ep" on Jacktone records. Fact Magazine included the track " Broken Saucers" in their best of September round-up.

In early 2019 Nina Kraviz and Dan released their collaboration "u ludei est pravo"on the trip compilation "Happy New Year! We Wish You Happiness".

In August, Schmer released his newest EP, "Swarm Draze".


Jasen Loveland is a mercurial force about whom little is known with any certainty. Much of Loveland’s life and exploits are shrouded in an opaque and often contradictory mythology that includes many other characters who may or may not be Loveland himself. Born sometime around 1950, Loveland seems to have been operational within the dance music community for decades, allegedly interning for Giorgio Moroder in Munich after finishing a medical degree in the 1970s. It is rumored he was the individual who did the actual synth programming on “I Feel Love”, however this was never confirmed. Documentation of Loveland’s past was further obscured by a “studio fire” while operating out of Chicago in the mid-1990s that destroyed all of Loveland’s memorabilia from the past, except for a handful of lo-resolution, poorly-scanned photographs Loveland (an early user of Hyperreal.org and the #mw.raves listserv) had emailed to a friend. Fortunately, Loveland was able to save his two favorite synthesizers, a battered Roland TB-303 and it’s demented sibbling, the MC-202, but the rest of Loveland’s equipment, and the documentation of his past, was lost in the blaze, leaving Loveland homeless for several months. Regardless of the veracity of his tales, Loveland’s music speaks for itself; the intense, maniacial vibes that pervade the ouvre are undeniably suited for the most far-out, dancefloor head trips, thus making it only a matter of time before he joined the Interdimensional Transmissions family.



Most recently, Loveland has been presenting DJ-style musical performances under the name “Loveland & Friends”, which has become an umbrella term for all projects related to his work, including JL-303, DJ Curtis Chipp, Chip Curtis, MIDI Master, Remote Perception, The Limit, Acid Musik Department, The Gaze, Ace of Fades, East German Chemistry, The Universal Vision, Clonus, Gamma Polaris, R.O.M. and DJ Kline, and Da House Band. Many of these, such as the DJ Kline project (with Prof. Dr. Alice B. Kline, a self-described “unremarkable scientist” and researcher at CERN), seem to be collaborations or ghost productions, although even this is not clear. In fact, the only confirmed Loveland collaborations are LW Productions (with Clay Wilson) and Pervocet (with Patrick Russell), the latter presented as a 12” by Interdimensional Transmissions, Detroit.

The second release on Antti Salonen's Avoidance label comes from Sansibar who offers a new direction to his already diverse output. Four elegant and colourful tracks gliding through breakbeat, techno and trance.

Schrödinger’s Box found a true audio delinquent when they discovered Rapha. Resident at Alphabet Club in Tel Aviv, this is a musician who creates tracks with a punk attitude and a painted acid smile. The co-founder of Chateau Royal arrives with four blistering numbers for our box. After the pounding percussion and 303 smears of “Ivanka”, this sidewinder synthesist unfurls the brooding darkness that is “Transform.” Lighter tones pierce the gloom in the carefully crafted “Visionia” before The Exaltics lands for some deep and dreamy electro with an incredible remake of “Voyager101.” Rapha’s original of “Voyager101” closes the 12”. Rasping rhythm patterns cut a path for rich dauby analogue bars in this stripped-back, late-night close.

Derek Carr is a shining light in the world techno. Born and raised on a diet of soulful machine music, this Irish artist has honed his sound over decades. It is this wealth of knowledge and experience that forms the backdrop of Arrival.

Carr is greatly influenced by the complex, yet warm, style that characterised UK techno in the 1990s. This inspiration flows through the LP, a ten-track trip that begins with the understated elegance of the title piece. And elegance is an undoubted quality of this album. Drums are bold and melodies delicate in “Alaska Blue” with “Lunar Cycles” tracing a journey back to the halcyon days of deep electronics. The skies above, or the heavens, are a definite creative source for Carr. “Anoat System,” with its soaring strings, and “Droid World,” whose sparks of electro grow to a superb brightness, tell of a fictional fascination with space. The parred back grandeur of “Apollo” tells another story. From a base of brittle beats and static rinses, orbiting notes bend and reflect as a measured musical epic unfolds. Across the album, an unrivalled sense of balance is achieved. The bolder kicks of “Haemoglobin” give space for cascading, fragile keys. That same bedrock proves fertile ground for the crafted textures and smooth harmonies of “Inside Out.” The closer, “MCR”, brings another element to the proceedings. A raft of drum patterns and a liquid bassline give rise to a final foray into the stars, twinkling notes ebbing to twilight.

Italian native Fabio Neural teams up with growing Columbian talent DJ Fronter on the Brr Baby Brr EP. Soon to be released on Hot Creations, the three-track release is a contemporary house affair that shows the natural chemistry between the two.

Leading with Brr Baby Brr, a driving kick is soon complemented by whistling hats, before a teasing synth build up gives way to a pummelling bass driven drop.

Having produced music since 2010, it was last year that Fabio Neural really caught the ground running with releases on two of modern house music’s leading labels: Relief and Saved. Phuture only released a handful of tracks (plus an album a full decade after their debut), but have remained a legendary act in the development of Chicago house for their stomping 1987 single "Acid Trax", the track that began and defined the acid house sound. The group was formed by DJ Pierre, synthesizer fan Spanky and Herb J in 1985 as a recording entity to produce records for Pierre to mix into his sets at several crucial Chicago clubs. After being turned on to the high-pitched squelch of the Roland TB-303 synthesizer (marketed as a bassline machine for solo guitarists), the trio emerged from the studio with a track they called "In Your Mind". Ron Hardy previewed the track at his legendary club the Music Box - where it became known as "Ron Hardy's Acid Track" - and Phuture re-made the cut with production by Marshall Jefferson. Released on Trax Records in 1987, the single created a dividing point between the Chicago sound before and after it, with hundreds of "Acid Trax" imitations flooding the local market. After it caught on in Britain as well, the single soundtracked the wave of club madness which coalesced in the rave movement by the end of the decade.

When I was on a trip through Switzerland a while ago, I was tipped off by a shop owner in Bern about his old friend who made music back in the mid-nineties. His name is Remco, the younger brother of the synth player from Swiss new wave band Les Rêveurs Artificiels/Die Künstlichen Träumer.
Once in a while, he would make a sporadic tune on his brother's gear, recording it on 8-track tape, without ever mixing it down, then just archiving it in a closet at his parent's house. He only played his tracks a couple of times to close friends, but it was hard to get a real idea of the sound since there was no mixdown. They had to be awkwardly played back on the 8-track player.
Of course, this brought my excitement level to boiling point, so the shop owner put us in touch and I asked Remco if I could have a listen to his 'secret' or, rather, 'private' music as I learned he likes to call it. He told me that the tapes were at his brother's place in Zurich and he hadn't listened to them since late nineties, but Basic Moves was welcome to check them out if we promised to give him a proper digital rip. The next time I played in Zurich I caught up with Remco's brother. He handed me the ¼' 8 track reel to reel, with 'THE SECT3000' scrawled on it in black marker.
I carefully brought it back to Brussels, restored it and listened to it while mixing it down at the same time, alongside our in-house engineer Chris 'Funk' Ferreira. We were blown away by the musicality of this visionary music. Chris had to deal with parts full of reverb especially on 'Blaupause', as no dry sounds were available. He did a great job, as did Stefan, our mastering engineer. In 'Plastic Dream', the track with muffled, mysterious vocals, islas, who runs the label with me thought she could hear Remco saying 'Basic Moves' repeatedly. I was keen to prove her wrong because that would be crazy, so I asked my only Swiss German speaking friend Walid from Les Points (who is also making amazing music) to do a quick translation of the lyrics. It turns out this is a love song.
Some might say BM08 strays into unknown territory for Basic Moves. Looking in different genres and being open minded and imaginative led us to THE SECT3000, Remco the 8-track wonder. Walrus, November 2018.

Luke Slater and O Phase combine for the second release under their RoogUnit guise on Mote-Evolver this April with the 'Nu Rebels Club' EP.

DSTM is a label that takes influence from '90s techno with fast-paced tracks that blend raw percussion with cinematic pads.

“Barat” is the epic EP opener that has an end of the night vibe with the poignant melodies of its pads. The second cut “Ainatac” adds an aggressive edge with its analogue synths, thrashing percussion and whirling groove.
The third is the distorted kick and buzzing synths of the industrial cut “Eznerif” before the EP is brought to a close by the hard-hitting sounds and twisted energy of “Dirdam”.

Fabrizio Lapiana's Attic Music label reaches release number 20 on the main series with a new EP from the boss himself: Collective Chaos features remixes from fellow Italian techno luminaries Neel & Laertes.

Rome's Lapiana has been a vital voice in the global techno underground for more than 10 years now. His Attic Music label has played a key part in that, while his own evocative techno soundscapes have come on the likes of M_Rec ltd, Figure Jams, ARTS and Out-Er. This is his first outing of 2020 and is a superbly stylish techno trip.

Opener 'Crystal' is deep, drawn out techno with perfectly smooth and supple drum programming that soon gets you in a state of hypnosis. Subtle synth loops rise up through the mix as things grow more urgent, and once the percussion joins you're utterly locked. The title track is a more turbulent and edgy affair that sound tracks a dystopian urban wasteland - the synths are riddled with static, the hurried drums are punchy and there is an urgency in the molten synth lines that keeps you right on the edge of your seat.

Sound sculptor Neel runs Spazio Disponibile with collaborative partner Donato Dozzy and has an impeccable knack for sound design. Here he links with Laertes (half of Modern Heads with Dino Sabatini), a Mental Modern and Concrete Records associate who produces artful techno. Together, they remix 'Collective Chaos' into a dark and moody techno roller with glitchy textures and high speed synth lines that sweep you off your feet.

Closing out this terrific trip is 'Koyuk', a Millsian adventure into an intergalactic techno future, with polyphonic synths rippling above a rubbery drum line that is both propulsive and pensive.

This is high grade, perfectly distilled and meditative techno from some of Italy's finest exports.

Second release on the Copenhagen imprint, featuring tracks by DJ IBON, Lund&Ronde and Escaping Tendency, all from the local BunkerBauer crew. The release consists of three fast and trance infused tracks for the floor, and makes a contribution to the current flowering of Copenhagen dance music.

BunkerBauer is a DJ and producer collective, and has been a central institution in the Copenhagen techno scene for several years. All tracks are produced in the BunkerBauer studios which is located in an old bunker from World War 2, in the center of the city.

On the A-side there is Lund&Ronde's rolling hardtrance inspired banger. The B-side contains DJ Ibon's long awaited "White Flag", a melancholic percussion driven techno tune, followed by the wax debut of Escaping Tendency, a more slow and groovy track.

Ex-Voto is the first page in a new story, where French techno artist Nao Nhil looks inwards to find pools of sonic hypnosis. Taking inspiration from both techno and ambient music, Nao Nhil explores the outer reaches of contemporary, dancefloor expression, striking a delicate balance between body and mind. Contrasts between percussive roughness and slick execution, or between brooding darkness and beams of radiance, colour the sound and hold your gaze. The pristine techno construction of "Ex-Voto" tunnels deep into Nao Nhil's core, unearthing the roots from which the laser-cut drone of "Primal Atom" and the stepping kaleidoscope of "Psylle" were born.

DJ Disrespect returns for Classic Cuts Volume 2 continuing his armageddon of sound that will guide you through the final chapters of the 2020 year of doom!

Split #1 marks the debut of a new vinyl series, to be hosted on the Various Artists catalogue of Pi Electronics. The split series will be bringing two artists on the same vinyl, with this very first release presenting music by Greek producers Fragedis and Nemmett.

Coming from different backgrounds of electronic music, prolific figure of the Cretan islands' dance scene, Fragedis and one of the Athenean founding members of the "π" crew, Nemmett, contribute their sharpest weapons to this release.

On the A-side, Fragedis delivers a techno/breaks cut of dystopian melodies and vocal samples with his opening track "Flantza". His second track, "Klirish" blends industrial leaning percussions with Detroit techno flavored synths.

On the flip side, Nemmett returns with his trademark industrial / breaks sound, in a hypnotic, rap vocal atmosphere with the track "Altars". His broken beat influences go more noise with his second track "Teeth", which concludes the B-side of the vinyl.

Following up 2020's Inner Call, Jeroen Search returns to Token with another serving of characteristically hypnotic purism. Aether draws on classic, tripping motifs designed for maximum drive.

Opener Nightshade kicks off proceedings with a stylish lead sequence. Dry and effective, the track makes the most of its limited components, opening up briefly for a considered breakdown before returning to the driving repetition that will come to define the record. Zero Day Exploit follows-another crisp, beautifully executed composition that bears all the hallmarks of a seasoned engineer. On the flip, title track Aether brings some extra swing to proceedings, with drum machine patterns building tension as the main riff twists over its run time. Closer Rejection Rate sees the record out, a dense peak time roller complete with elegant chord stabs.

As one half of Red Axes, Dori Sadovnik could perhaps already stake a claim as one of the most prolific men in electronic music. A natural artist, Sadovnik is the sort of musician who never stops recording, a creator ahead of a consumer, well-adapted to a frenetic lifestyle.

This particular impulse has been funneled into a project known as Kapitan, an already expansive collection of tracks clocking in anywhere between 130 and 150 beats-per-minute.

As for a home, it just so happened that DJ Tennis, friend, collaborator and founder of Life and Death, was processing similar instincts, borne out of his love and association with the nineties heyday of IDM, pioneered by labels such as Warp and Rephlex.

“I don't really know what led me there but I had a feeling that I needed to be in the mountains”, explains Sadnovik. “I'm not a nature guy, nor do I feel particularly spiritual, but I was always struck by the harmony of it all. Everything is in the mix.”

This all-encompassing, blissful philosophy is deeply felt throughout this journey, a fluid blend of analogue and digital sounds rendered as organic as the landscape that inspires the album. Interlocking rhythms evolve into unexpected chamber pieces and bubbling acid lines blossom into rave psychedelia on opening tracks such as ‘Weird Day’ and ‘Flowers’, progressing to the sound of ‘Takak’, which inspires meditations on enormous bass weight, as mantras creep in from the surrounding forest of sound.

In the album’s second-half, this sincere sense of awe expands further still. Centrepiece tracks ‘In The Valley’ inspires a true sense of wonder and transcendence, complex rhythms blending with wide-eyed reverence. ‘Smile’ is trippy and innocent while ‘Elleven’ crackles with whispering energy over whiplash breakbeats. Concluding with ‘Heart’, Sadnovik reduces the pace to a stepping, heavy rhythm, commanding a deep sense of respect for the untamed wilderness that has served as such a unique muse.

The French producer has been releasing music since 1993 most notably under his own name, but also with his music wise wide-ranging alter egos Eisbär, Cyborg, Gemini 9, Scanner and - together with Nitzer Ebb's Douglas McCarthy - as Fixmer / McCarthy. It's thanks to people like him that Electronic Body Music eventually traversed towards contemporary club contexts and now remains being a defining part of dancefloors in general, or a

Klubnacht in particular. By combining the aesthetics of EBM, Electro and Industrial music with the rhythmics of Techno, Fixmer coined and occupied his very own musical niche as a producer and live act.
At Ostgut Ton we've always been intrigued by Terence's production style, his use of hard synth lines, guttural vocal samples, sharp-edged hi-hats, or to cut the matter short: his deep, glowering approach to sequencer Techno with EBM jabs. Therefore it's great seeing him continue this path with four new tracks on the Beneath The Skin EP, following up on 2015's Aktion Mekanik Theme Versions that featured remixes of the Music Man Records classic Aktion Mekanik Theme' by Ostgut Ton's Kobosil, Marcel Dettmann and Norman Nodge.
As aforementioned Beneath The Skin comprises the various musical facets of a Klubnacht: dark, pounding slaps and discomforting yet soaring synths ( Beneath The Skin'), Acid Techno modulations and lone voices in the dark ( Trace To Nowhere'),

hypnotic synth progressions and ambient textures ( Devil May Care') and finally some rest and soothing ( Immersion').

Es gibt wenige Namen, die elektronische Musik im Laufe der Zeit derart geprägt haben, wie Terence Fixmer. Der französische Produzent veröffentlicht seit 1993 Musik unter seinem bürgerlichen Namen, aber auch unter seinen musikalisch weitgefächerten Alter Egos Eisbär, Cyborg, Gemini 9, Scanner und - zusammen mit Nitzer Ebbs Douglas McCarthy - als Fixmer / McCarthy. Es ist Leuten wie ihm zu verdanken, dass Electronic Body Music in zeitgenössische Clubkontexte einzog und heute definierender Teil von Dancefloors im Allgemeinen und einer Klubnacht im Besonderen ist. Durch die Kombination von Ästhetiken aus EBM, Electro und Industrial-Musik mit der Rhythmik von Techno hat Fixmer als Produzent und Live-Act seine eigene Nische geprägt und besetzt.
Wir von Ostgut Ton waren stets fasziniert von Fixmers Produktionsstil, seinem Einsatz harter Synthlines, gutturaler Stimmsamples, scharfkantiger Hi-Hats, oder um es abzukürzen: seinem deepen, grollenden Sequencer-Techno-Ansatz mit EBM-Stichen. Deshalb sind wir hocherfreut, dass er diesen Weg mit vier neuen Stücken auf der Beneath The Skin EP geht und damit auf die Single Aktion Mekanik Theme Versions (Ostgut Ton, 2015) anknüpft - auf der man Remixes seitens der Ostgut Ton-Künstler Kobosil, Marcel Dettmann und Norman Nodge von Fixmers Music Man Records-Klassiker - Aktion Mekanik Theme hörte.
Wie gesagt vereint Beneath The Skin die unterschiedlichen musikalischen Facetten einer Klubnacht: Düstere, hämmernde Schläge und unbehagliche aber erhebende Synths (- Beneath The Skin ), Acid Techno-Modulationen und verlorene Stimmen im Dunkel des Raums (- Trace To Nowhere ), hypnotische Synth-Progressionen und Ambientflächen (- Devil May Care ) und schließlich: Ruhe und Linderung (- Immersion ).

Fellow Frenchmen The Hacker and Commuter take their inspiration from the TV series, Chernobyl to create an imaginary soundtrack for their collaborative EP on Cultivated Electronics, which has already been on full throttle in 2021 with releases by DMX Krew, London Modular Alliance, Morphology and Maelstrom across both CE and sister label, CE Ltd. Cultivated Electronics isn't letting up any time soon, with this new EP from two major forces of the scene who should need no introduction, having between them released over the years on labels including Zone, Mannequin Records, Klakson, Dark Entries, Bass Agenda, Elektrofon and too many others to mention. Here they deliver three new punchy electro tracks that convey their love of vintage electronics and machine funk, but with a modern touch that will hit all the right notes for electro fans, with names like 'Roentgen' (a unit of measurement for the exposure of X-rays and gamma rays) and 'RBMK' (Chernobyl's nuclear power reactor). The EP includes the added treat of a remix by MMT-8, otherwise known as Ed Upton (DMX Krew) and label head Phil Bolland (Sync 24) who deliver an escalated reworking of 'RBMK'.

Acid Techno supergroup The Wipeouts (Chris Liberator, Sterling Moss, Aaron Liberator) return with 2 cheeky adrenalin fuelled cuts of twisted 303's, hard-as-nails beats, and tongue-in-cheek vocals. For me, it has never been a more important time to create and release music. When it feels like everything is crumbling down around me, nothing can hold me together and lift me up the way that making music can. Nothing can connect me with spirit and purpose the way that creating something from nothing does. Making music creates pathways for connection and community too. Long time Knotweed and DMT supporter Mattias Fridlell approached us with some tracks he recently produced with his friend Alexander Johansson. We immediately knew that this was going to translate into a piece of wax. Expertly crafted, perfectly mixed, this is a beautiful excursion into deep hypnotic techno like no other.

Morbeck is one of the key figures of the Berlin underground scene, which makes him a fitting piece of the puzzle to Wunderblock Records' hyper-formulated techno vision.

A resident DJ and purveyor of the club scene in Berlin, Morbeck has released on numerous labels but his most recent achievement stands as his 2013 set up of imprint "Code Is Law", a home for creativity in the techno universe. Now he delivers infectious EP "Berlin 95" drawing on acid and techno influences and blending his unique style with a love for the 80's and 90's that inspired him so.

First up we have title track "Berlin 95", nothing less than a forward-thinking acid trance techno to get the heart racing and showcase Morbeck in his production skills.

The vibe gets heavier on "Melody Massacre", a slow-burner featuring heaving percussion and snipped ethereal vocals and synth work which intoxicate the listener.

"Frankfurt 2000" is a swirling mass of shimmery percussion, employing those frantic synths which are synonymous with 90's rave culture that Morbeck is so inspired by.

The last track on the EP finalises an outstanding set, an addictive vocal pattern is combined with twinkling melodies and a moody bass, setting the tone alight.

Berlin 95 EP is just another star to add to Morbeck's list of accomplishments, its uniquely produced elements making it a timeless piece of classic techno.

"Based on Instinct" is the first solo EP of Atmophile Electronics cofounder Sharad Sood. All 4 tracks are composed in playful hardware jams, each following its own concept, from synthesis approach over rhythmic structures and recording techniques up to the editing process. Keeping a techno feel at heart this release is a representation of his never ending urge to experiment in the field of music creation and audio engineering.
