"Following on from May's "ECHOES Part 1 & 2" this is the second single of three to be released as an introduction to the next album project of Ulrich Troyer - TRANSIT TRIBE - to be released later this year.

This time it's one for the reggae fans and dubheads with contributions from Diggory Kenrick who has been busy over the last few years adding the distinctive sound of his flute to many new reggae productions. He is also an associate of the U.K. reggae label Pressure Sounds that specialises in reviving classic sounds from the roots and dancehall eras of the genre. Also joining the production is Takafumi Noda aka Mystica Tribe, a Japanese producer and musician who has specialised in a new form of dub techno and is known for adding the signature sound of his melodica to productions of dub friends from around the world.

The subject of travel, especially along modern, fast routes has long been subject to fascinate musicians, from the days of Kraftwerk's "Autobahn" and now the whole genre of dub techno seems to be one built for listening on long journeys. The Autostrada Del Brennero / Brennerautobahn is one of the most important motorways in Italy, as it connects the Po Valley with Austria through the Brenner Pass and features many modern bridges and overpasses that are ready built illustrations for the covers of dub techno albums! On this release this major European truck route is celebrated musically by Ulrich Troyer with inputs from Diggory and Taka to create two modern dub classics."

Monnom Black presents Umwelt's new studio album "Dead Eyes Society", a stunning piece of work and the culmination of 30 years of artistic refinement. Umwelt is a truly rare underground electronic artist in the world of Techno and is without doubt one of the most important and prolific French electronic producers of a generation. A techno activist since the 90's boasting over 50 releases to date. Throughout his career he has crafted a pure analog, unmistakable, signature sound, mixing dark, cinematic melancholy with the electro-techno grit he is so renowned for.

The sound of the album is influenced by late 90's and early 00's techno contrasted with an avant-garde approach to recording and sound design. Throughout the album Umwelt lays down beautiful grooves and his space techno melodies in uncompromising fashion, blended with classic synthwork and run through his famous analog outboard chains. With "Dead Eyes Society" Umwelt has crafted his most powerful techno album to date and solidified himself as an exceptional artist and titanic figure of modern electronic music.

Picture by acclaimed photographer Cam Linh, her work has been featured across multiple Parisian exhibitions and has worked closely with Umwelt over the past years.

Fifth chapter in this absolute killer serie - Spaced out house and dub techno belters by unknown crew

New output from The Hague very own NHS crew — made up of three different tracks, recorded in various scenarios and timelines. Playing with the intricacies of the night, while suitable for all situations electronic.

Sun Genam/Grosheid on the A1 slot, we take-off with no foreseen landing. A spiraling techno workout that keeps evolving into something bigger, held up by a hypnotic rhythm to ensure that the chance of your mind melting into a puddle is at an all time high.

Providing a dancefloor-forward reintepretation of 29CU.SPIRAL, Young Adults kick things up a notch in their own groove-laden style—keeping things functional, while still having heaps of emotional strength and deepness that keeps on giving.

Last but not least, the flipside is the doing of Beschadigde Zielen Date, a stimulant-fueled jam, recorded in the small hours of the night, after a festival outing that needed just that one extra push. Long lost recording in the early days of 2010s, from our minds to yours, truly.

It is limited to 140 sales copies on red vinyl and comes with an insert "Snax for Trax" detailing how to make a tasty snack to eat whilst enjoying the music.
The tracks are from co-label owner Inkipak who kicks off with a big breaks tune which rises and falls, followed by Toytronic label boss Gimmik exploring the outer limits of drum programming and acid. The b-side sees Detroit legend Brian Kage deliver an acid infused house track, and lastly Pop Out & Play (Simon Tappenden and co-label owner Wil Russell) combine talent for a dancefloor friendly techno/house track finally pressed on vinyl, as supported by Grum on his mixmag mix and featured on Air Frances dance radio station. This is limited to this pressing only.

The Blackploid resurgence of recent years continues to gather steam. After laying dormant for some time, Martin Matiske's project roared back into life in 2021 with a pair of EPs for Central Processing Unit. It doesn't look like he'll be taking his foot off the gas any time soon - not only does the new Blackploid collectionPlanetary Sciencecomplete Matiske's hat-trick for the Sheffield label, but it also serves as a prelude to the full-length album which Blackploid will deliver on CPU in 2023.

If that LP is as good as the tracks we get here, then it's safe to say that we're on to a winner. This EP contains a quartet of top-tier machine-funk productions, the kind of crisp post-Drexciya joints we've come to know and love Blackploid for. Each track onPlanetary Sciencemakes good on the record's title by delivering club tackle flecked with FX which sound distinctly like spaceships blasting off into the cosmos.

There is also progression acrossPlanetary Science. While it still aims for the dancefloor,Planetary Scienceis a somewhat more textured listen than eitherStrange StarsorCosmic Traveler, Blackploid's previous CPU drops. Most notable is the increased use of synth pads, with Matiske draping chord progressions over all of these tracks in order to give his music a newfound depth.

Blackploid's subtle evolution is clear from the opening track. 'Dimension Unknown' may begin with a precision-engineered groove reminiscent of an early Legowelt joint, but things soon soften with the introduction of some rich keyboard chords. A few well-chosen bleeps and bloops flit in and out of the mix, but whereas some would use these to scuff up the track further here they are warm and playful.

The more confrontational stance of following cut 'Magnetron' makes it a yin to 'Dimension Unknown's yang. Blackploid works with similar tools here - machine-gun beat programming, chords playing off boinging bass - but there is a tension and buzz to the track which isn't apparent on its predecessor. The synths have a slight Eighties deep space thriller vibe about them, and the FX cut through the mix with more bite.

'Magnetron's energy carries through to 'Wire', the first track on thePlanetary ScienceB-side. Here a big, brutish bassline takes centre stage from the off, a chunk squarewave equal-parts Dopplereffekt and early Eskibeat. Around this swirls a queasy brew of synthesised tones, with the component parts all arranged in order to channel 'Magnetron's sense of unease.

Planetary Sciencecloses out with 'Neurotransmitter'. On this cut, Blackploid returns somewhat to where we started off, finding a midpoint between 'Dimension Unknown's more spacious feel and the livewire flavour of 'Magnetron' and 'Wire'. Tension remains, particularly when Matiske serves up one of the EP's snakiest basslines, but there's also a deftness to the synth pads here which makes 'Neurotransmitter' a little softer around the edges.

Blackploid limbers up for a forthcoming full-length on Central Processing Unit withPlanetary Science, an EP of stargazing electro joints that quietly expand the project's sonic world.

Dear friends, Can you imagine a rolling recording studio? This is exactly where recordings of Himbert´s „Old Banger EP“ took place. For his debut on Brombert Records he put all his gear into an old campervan. Footloose and fancy-free Himbert produced four tracks with dry and almost tangibly sound aesthetics, that take you on a trip into a world remote from commercialized rave and club culture. The EP kicks off with „C35“, a track driven by a gritty bassline that is counteracted by an euphoric chord pattern. Pitch Black’s “Electronomicon”, a landmark album in New Zealand’s electronica scene, finally gets pressed on vinyl.First released in 2000, “Electronomicon” shows Pitch Black developing their deep dubby sound further by creating long and involved song structures that traverse a range of sonic experiences. The resultant album journeys from organic ambience and layered soundscapes to skanking keyboards, cutting acid riffs and thumping rhythmic grooves, with dub being the glue that holds it all together.

“Electronomicon” reached 28 in the New Zealand album charts and led to a sell-out 30-date tour of New Zealand and Australia. It has since gone on to become one of the duo’s most popular albums, regularly finding new fans around the world.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release, the band dug out the original audio files and Angus McNaughton has remastered them for this vinyl release. Hamish Macaulay has also adapted the original artwork, creating a brand new collage for the centerfold out of pictures taken at the time.

DC175 comes courtesy of Alias, a new project comprising of Harvey & Ryan McKay, who are two acts who have previously released solo material on the label. Harvey McKay's last appearance was in late 2016 when he dropped 'The Mad Drummer' on A-Sides Vol. 4 whereas Ryan McKay's last outing was in 2015 when he appeared on A-Sides Vol.3 under the name Skiver. This is the first collaborative project between the Scottish duo under their new moniker Alias.The EP opens with 'Pentatonic'; A tough sounding track that has been designed for the forward-thinkers. 'The Truth' follows up sharply, with vintage piano stabs and a vocal that gives the track abounding energy. The on-point percussion leads you on a trip of pure rapture. The release closes with the apocalyptic 'Dream Taker', which is teeming with sinister vocal action and hostile synth work and a sublime way to sign off.

'Agartha Stories' is a record we were looking forward to release for quite some time. The British DJ, producer and label owner ((Infrastructure New York, Counterchange) Ed Davenport is releasing a great mini-album including four club tracks and two interludes on the Siamese imprint, owned by the production and DJ duo known as Adriatique.

Honda People's debut EP on ABUAUDIO is a journey through the artist's distinctive universe in house music. With a sound that defies easy categorisation, the Estonian producer blends intricate percussion, warped melodies, and otherworldly textures to create a sound that is both quirky and enchanting.

This EP is a 4-tracker.

The title track, This People follows a rumbling bassline with a mix of glitchy percussion and a jazz influenced piano hook. Please More Rain is a dance floor friendly thumper that weaves in soft vocals and delicate flute stabs.

The B side starts with Precious, which mixes sped up vocals with sped up samples and melds them into a gooey rubbery unit of space. Girlfriends Love Candles takes futuristic spin on dub influenced electronica.

isolée returns to Maeve with his second solo release following the success of 2017's "Mangroove EP". Spanning four tracks, "Candy Apple Red EP", shows different sides to the German artists signature micro sound. The A1, "mad marauder" leans on a big room feel while still possessing all the intricacies of production isolée has become known for over his distinguished career. The title track comes on the A2, "candy apple red", a jovial trot through a languid land of disco-house. The flip side starts with, "you are", a sub terrain deep house number with all the feels of an isolée cut. Rounding things off on the B2 is "Jordi", a darker trip into the dancefloor, perfect for the small hours.

Remastered and repress of the Skatekat, a Ska/Tribe funky experience bringing crazy speed breakbeats and medium garage kicks with a funky bassline underneath... Big !

Kniteforce Insanity is for the most extreme and ridiculous music we could possibly find. This is tongue in cheek, non genre, sample heavy, intensely insane music. It is not for the faint of heart...or hearing or...well...anyone, really. This EP from Dj Luna-C is made up of idiotic dubplates and experiments in foolishness, and is totally unsuitable for a vinyl release.

Meetsysteem's 2020 album Cr:GO get's the remix and rework treatment in 2022! The incredibly talented Nana Adjoa reworked L.I.W.W.W. (Love is What the World Wants). Her deft poeticism and a fierce sense of?musicianship turned the original dubby track into a beautiful triphop/indie rock pearl. She freely and poetically translated the orignal Dutch lyrics into English. Enabling the important message of L.I.W.W.W. to now reach a worldwide audience. On the flip-side Elias Mazian, the DJ/producer turned singer-songwriter, beautifully reworked Meetsysteem's nostalgic love song Sinaasappels. A beautiful minimalistic and dreamy take on the original that will be the perfect soundtrack for the spring to come. More Meetsysteem remixes to come in May 2022.

Nonetheless come forward with another sound lecture in Intelligent Downtempo Music, this time with an EP consisting of four cuts well balanced in between the dancefloor and a high fidelity sound installation.

Stepback Records next release sees the Moot Tapes and Made Magnetic boss Polytunnel making his debut for the Edinburgh based label.

Polytunnel goes deep into electro made for dance floors.

His style of melodic electro mixed with breakbeat influenced acid has seen his music gain acclaim from the likes of Mixmag, DJ Mag, Inverted Audio, XLR8R and supported by the late great Andrew Weatherall on his much-missed NTS show, Musics Not for Everyone.

Previously released on labels including We’re Going Deep, Seventh Sign Recordings and Childsplay with support from the likes of Truncate, Dan Curtin, Placid, Vladimir Ivkovic, Marvel Dettmann, Ame and more.

Italian Producer and part of the r²π trio PRG/M lands on the label with a five track EP. With a mixture of deep and club orientated tracks the EP follows and refines the sonic direction of the label. In addition to four original tracks, Switzerland based producer Mod21 completes the release with an extended remix showing his signature sound.

Dream Ticket is back with a barrage of sonic bliss from SHUT boss Ryan James Ford. His is a futuristic vocabulary transmitted from a quarter century ago and decoded tomorrow: incunabulated ambience, aphextual textures, reflectivised rhythms. This EP is for anyone whose heart is in the techno, IDM, jungle & environs of the early-to-mid-90s, but whose feet are planted firmly in the here and now, most likely in the middle of a fearless dancefloor. Rave on.

Hotly-tipped producer Son of Philip channels gloomy post-club psychedelia on new LP 'Plastic Borough'. Having previously caught the ear of tastemakers such as Mary Anne Hobbs, Overmono, Ben UFO, James Holden & Mixmag, Nottingham-born / London-based producer Son of Philip has been turning heads with his atmospheric and emotive tracks since 2021. An accomplished musician with a varied palette, his previous outings on labels such as Wigflex and Fever AM (run by Mor Elian and Rhyw), as well as his own imprint Bliss Print, have seen his sound span from weighty 2-step bangers to beautifully constructed ambient techno tracks.

Son of Philip (AKA Tom Smith) now releases 'Plastic Borough' via Nottingham's Running Circle Records. Throughout this heady and engaging record hypnotic, grainy textures and analogue warmth cast a heavy cloak over a sea of shifting sonics beneath. Beautifully melding fragmented synths against swirling clouds of particles, twisting and contorted sounds permeate the haze in an alluring and intoxicating blend.

Munich. 1994. A group buck current trends with a ground-breaking release. Tikitaka by Tamburá left aside the techno of the time to focus on a the lesser known styles of afrobeat and tribal music. The result was three tracks that sail and soar on a primal energy, three works that whisk listeners away to exotic lands of wooden wind instruments, ritualistic vocals and, even, bag pipe majesty. For twenty five years this record has been an unattainable mystery, until now that is. Kalahari Oyster Cult have lovingly restored all three of the trailblazing original tracks alongside two very special remixes. Melbourne’s Tornado Wallace adds new layers of intensity as he cuts and reshapes melodies and beats to set any floor alight with this visionary remake. Dazion offers a very different interpretation. L's Sunrise Market is starry, glitchy and dubwise, with prowling-lion bass; Time Zone is more bare-bones and tumpin, with hissing echo and out percussion. On the flip, Memory Man inhales a lungful of Hashman and goes all monster-stomper, with slashing hi-hats and oiky bass; and Cloudface runs down his 303, with some rumbustious, farty-bottom acid.
A diverse, deeply entertaining EP; a warmly recommended first release on this label to watch keenly.

'EPM20 – EP 2’ turns the spotlight on electro. For this special EP, we’ve gathered brand new tracks by The Advent & Zein Ferreira, Carl Finlow, Detroit’s Filthiest and Modulator a.k.a. Freddie Fresh. As all good electro-heads will know, The Advent (Cisco Ferreira) is as renowned for electro as he is for techno. On ‘Strangeform’ he works alongside his son and rising talent, Zein to turn in pure electro-funk that’s blistering to the last beat. Another absolute master of the scene is Carl Finlow who brings deep bass notes, carefully crafted melody and his meticulous production skills to ‘Optogenetic’. Detroit’s Filthiest has been wowing listeners with his work for labels like Casa Voyager, Bass Agenda, Philthtrax and his own MCEC. His track ‘Werewolf’ is the electro monster the title suggests – dark and tough Detroit-electro book-ended with a playful vocal. The EP closes with the legendary, Freddie Fresh who after three decades is a genuine virtuoso. Under his Modulator guise he layers beautiful retro synth stylings and sci-fi atmospherics on ‘ProMars’. The third EP featuring four house tracks will follow in July, with the ‘EPM20’ compilation after the summer.

The Boogie Times label was the precursor and sister label to Suburban Base, and here we find some of the rarities and collectible that helped lay the foundation for not only Subbase but emerging genres that followed. Lovingly mastered and resorted 16 tracks, cut across 4 pieces of black vinyl in a format suitable for DJing. And including several alternate and unreleased versions of these classic early works.

This is a stunning collectible piece of rave history, even we are blown away with how great this album looks, it is probably the best packaged project we’ve ever released.

Enzo Siragusa and Alexkid's Kilimanjaro project first appeared on FUSE London in late 2013 and offered a refreshing exploration of house music informed by jungle's production style. This Summer the duo are set to reunite as they continue to join the dots between House and Jungle with the 'Kilimanjaro Sound EP', the latest installment of their much-hyped project.
'Kilimanjaro 2' is a remarkably simplistic yet brutally effective opener, which kicks the EP off in fine style, effortlessly fusing elements of house and jungle together. Trademark crisp jungle drums underpin an off kilter house beat while vocal wails and a pulsating jungle reese bassline shakes the track to its core.
On 'Kilimanjaro 3', while the deadly deep bass remains, the track develops along a techier-tangent. Enzo and Alexkid strip everything back to its ferocious bare bones with an engrossing four to the floor beat complemented by mechanical swirls of sound and yet more bone-shuddering bass and is exclusively available on vinyl only.
'Kilimanjaro 4' follows on another 4/4 trajectory but this time a 'hold it, now wait' Hip-Hop sample takes center stage. Supplemented by rich atmospherics and recurring blasts of bass 'Kilimanjaro 4' is another killer track made with superior standards of production quality.

ZamZam 95 is a link with the enigmatic French producer Hiss Is Bliss. We’ve been fans since the very first drop on their 777Hz label and these two sides drive straight to the heart of the dub techno galaxy.

Little is known about Hiss Is Bliss beyond the fact that they hail from France, are steeped in esotericism, and create tunes as masterfully grounded in roots reggae as they are in techno and related strands of electronic music. Their releases are utterly free of hype, beautifully crafted 10” vinyl plates that let the singers and tracks speak for themselves.

At the risk of being cheeky, “Nope” is absolute dub techno bliss. The 808 kick propels the track relentlessly forward, saturated washes of color streak the night sky, while syncopated hi hats and warm, soulful chords bring life- dare we say funk- to a style too often stiff and clinical, too in thrall to the past to truly step forward. Matching Hiss is Bliss in mystery, Ras Lys’ vocal brings a Dread perspective on music and the sometimes shady business of music, a grounded contrast to the deep inner space explored by the tune itself. The B-side version “Abbadia” splits musical atoms through the desk, focusing squarely on the stripped 4/4 elements and gloriously distorted pads that echo and cycle like tides in a darkly shimmering sea.

The latest on Warehouse Music comes courtesy of Joshua James: ‘Love To Do It’ which samples the iconic, pleasure-seeking vocals of American drag vocalist Roxy and The Ride Committee.

For the original mix, the London DJ gives Roxy’s ‘90s house lyrics an electro makeover, twisting around mangled samples, vibrant snares and bubbling slapback delays. Keeping true to the artist's wild vocal stylings and referencing the queer underground sound James has called home.

On the flip, label boss Mella Dee takes us back into four-four territory on the first of two remixes. The ‘Law & Disorder’ mix works James’ dialled-up modern sass into a hypnotic loop, rolling into the heart of the club via a deep house bassline.

Meanwhile, the 'Split Your Wig’ mix strips the track down to body-poppin’ 909s and swirling percussion, paying tribute to NYC club culture via drum machine.

Maceo Plex hasn't dropped an original on Drumcode since 2014 when the hugely popular 'Conjure Infinity' EP was released. Despite this, he's been a significant feature at DC events over the last year.
Sharing a tight relationship with Adam Beyer, the pair have laid down memorable B2B sets at Warehouse Project, Ultra Music Festival, and the Resistance opening party in Ibiza this summer, thus cementing their tight musical bond.

Produced in the early part of 2019, 'Destination Mars' marks his terrific return to Beyer's iconic label. The track is trademark Maceo, a master class in tension and release, characterized by a slick low-end bass hum that gathers steam as crunchy drum lines and breathy vocal accents combine effectively with the main vocal lead, a contribution from Josh Wink, no less.

Barna mainstay oma totem is dishing out the cerebral and dubby like it’s nobody’s business. 3 tripped-out accelerators courtesy of the Oyster Cult debutant, complete with an OK EG rework for good measure.

No messing with this purveyor of reverb-drenched dynamics and fractal polyrhythm. But this time, rather than the inward contemplation of releases past, we get something a little more full-frontal.

Robust club gear rooted in ominous portent, opener ‘The Trick’ recalls the heyday of early 00s bass music. It’s tunnelling prog caught on a dark side flex. ‘Choreos’ finds the Hivern Discs affiliate at his deftest. Intricate and kaleidoscopic with careful attention to rhythmic intricacies, but never at the expense of dancefloor propulsion. The same could be said for the follow-up.

‘10 Years Love On The Rocks - Sky Is The Limit’ is a compilation celebrating a decade of the seminal label, a reflection on its journey, the current status of the dance floor and a pivotal moment for its founder; a personal essay over eight tracks on ten years in the game, from one of the most unique voices in the industry: PARAMIDA.

The V.A. features a selection of artists reflecting the idea of chosen family at the heart of the label – figures responsible for early releases such as Massimiliano Pagliara and Fantastic Man, to Alex Kassian, recent additions E-Talking and Running Hot, and newcomers to the label such as Sweely and Dreamphaze – a collaboration between Alex Bradley and 90s techno legend Neil Tolliday – to name a few.

Expertly curated and sequenced, equally rewarding in close listening and on the dancefloor, there’s a thread throughout that pairs laid back grooves with cinematic, emotional chords, tripped out keys and melodies, and variations in ambience, with highs and lows that feel reflective, nuanced, considered and masterfully crafted; a reflection of the maturity that has developed in the label’s output since its first release in 2014, Massimiliano Pagliara’s classic ‘Flying Away From You’.

Connecting classic house, prog and balearic influences, the label’s sound remains indefinable but unmistakable and in full effect here, not afraid to reference iconic prog/trance and even euro dance in a compilation that envelopes the complete spectrum of dance floor emotion.

There’s nothing out there quite like this – a quality true of all the label’s releases, an achievement that was both the focal point of the label at its inception and a full circle moment that speaks to its development – staying true to itself while progressing with (and shaping) the times – a decade later. “I never expected Love On The Rocks to make it to ten years,” explains PARAMIDA, whose own trajectory over the same period of time – to Panorama Bar resident and one of the most prominent, boundary-pushing and sought-after artists in the game – has been nothing short of meteoric. “Everything has a beginning, a middle and an end. When the time comes, I know what the last release will be. But it never feels like the right time. This compilation represents the past, present and future. It’s an inflection point. After this, anything is possible.”
