Techno Vinyl New Releases - News

The telephone rings at midnight. The sound echoes through the halls of your home in the Hollywood hills. Nervously you pick up the heavy receiver only to hear the desperate breathing of a lunatic… The same lunatic that has been calling for months. Welcome to ‘Deranged Fan’ the score to an imagined American thriller by Tom Guycot. Laying somewhere between the Italian and French legends and Harold Faltermeyer, Deranged Fan is Beverly Hills Cop on mescaline and chloroform. Vintage strings sing over analog bass on a journey to the darkest places of your mind… Can you escape your fate as one of the highest paid stars in Hollywood? Or will you end up just another tabloid fable…

Raphael Vendramini returns to brokntoys for a third outing after his previous EPs The Invisible and Works.

Comprising 5 tracks, Moments sees the producer showcasing his trademark sound, merging slowly building arpeggiated synths with bittersweet melodies.

Limited to 50 copies.

Viscera is a remix of Dimitri Mazurov, originally released digitally on After Affects Rec.

Bjarki returns to with another EP brandishing five restructured doses of IDM from another galaxy. Using marching kick drums as a basis, oli gumm takes references from techno, gabber and trance and morphs them into something far less easy to categorise.'oli gumm 2-2' switches frantically between glistening synth cascades and bouncing kicks. 'fork2-2' is a subdued excursion through ominous, trance-inducing strings and skeletal percussion. Opening the B side, '7 filakaramellur lion bar' spirals through warped vocals and acoustic contortions, followed by 'hatann satann', a high speed voyage through a demonic parallel universe. Closing off the EP, 'sleikjó' uses rolling drums to circle around a pit of sparse sonic oddities.

CRISPR (clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats) is a family of DNA sequences found in the genomes organisms such as bacteria and archaea. The discovery of clustered DNA repeats occurred independently in three parts of the world. The first description of what would later be called CRISPR is from Osaka University in 1987. They accidentally cloned part of a CRISPR sequence together with a gene that was their target. The organization of the repeats was unusual. Repeated sequences are typically arranged consecutively, without interspersed different sequences. They did not know the function of the interrupted clustered repeats.

Raw electro, techno and noise from Lifeforms boss Gavelman. Download code included.

Raw, partly New Beat leaning, acidic Techno / Electro EP

Mause makes his debut release on npm with a stunning 4 track EP entitled ‘XOR’.

Starting with ‘LocriLogAcid Seq’ serving up soothing melodies that make you want to drift away on the dance-floor. ‘SeqTuningMlog Acid1’ proves that Mause isn’t averse to switching up tempos and beats with a powerful, trippy acid induced journey.

The cleverly structured ambient and melodically complex ‘Strimsang Baecon4’is reminiscent of early Aphex Twin with pure electronic bliss whilst ‘Sunday Multi Acid Seq20d’ is a strong finish to the EP delving deeper within the realms of electro and acid techno.

Dame-Music strikes back! Tim Taylor & DJ Slip make their debut on the label, featuring 2 remixes from label boss Bloody Mary, and a remix from Jerome Hill.

The story behind the release dates back to 1997, when Tim Taylor spent the whole year in Minneapolis. He built a mobile studio in a rental apartment and collaborated with local modular system freaks Freddie Fresh, DJ ESP, DJ Slip and Rob Williams.

Tim had been sent music from these guys for a few years prior to his stay in Minneapolis, and he was amazed by the amount of analogue gear in their studios - real exotic, rare stuff for the time. During this period they did different jams with these various systems and recorded to DAT with live mixing. In many cases, these were just sketches of stripped down tracks with increasingly unusual bass and live delays.

These recordings were planned as an alternate limited series project to Tim Taylor’s label, Missile, with the plan being to release these experiments under the name "Fear of Music." The aim was to try something beyond what a regular DJ club label could put out.

Fear of Music 01 “Pleasure Unit” was a collaboration between Tim Taylor & DJ Slip. It was originally released in 1998 and quickly became a cult track. At the time it was just a 90's analogue adventure, however it was always intended to return to work on some of these tracks at a later date.

So here we are, 21 years later. Dame-Music proudly presents the original track by Tim Taylor & DJ Slip, freshly remastered by Thomas P. Heckmann at Trope Mastering, including 2 fresh remixes by Bloody Mary and 1 by Jerome Hill.

Electro Transmissions 008 is a various artists release, what we call the Xtermination Krew, with tracks by Lowfish, N-Ter, Datawave, Astrobee, T/Error and Foreign Sequence. Very limited units on colored vinyl, packed in a really nice way as we have come to know by the Fundamental crew.

The System 108 anniversary record sums up the label's five-year work without words. The new collection is an impression of everything that the team has become during its existence. System 108 has matured nominally and stylistically, defining for itself three main directions: post-industrial, techno and break-beat, disco and house. Each of the three parts of the new collection reveals one of the musical trajectories of System 108 development: Part 1 is a dark story that covers the genres of new beat, EBM, acid, new wave, with a light touch in Goa trance by Mashkov.

Mixed Grey and Black Vinyl

The album is the second full length album by Shawn Rudiman for Pittsburgh Tracks and follows his latest release--the joint EP with Jordan GCZ entitled AMS>PIT on Love What You Feel

* Artist Statement:
Conduit contains moments from the last two or so years of my life. There have been a lot of trying times and ups and downs in there. These moments are the exhaust of that life. Some more subjective than others. We are simply conduits for whatever flows through our cores. We tap into it. We allow it to flow through us. As it takes shape, we select its forms and hone its output. We are simply conduit for our work. Maintain the Flow State.

Written way back in 1999, this untitled Voy-E EP was released in 2000 only as an extremely limited white label promo, before the original label shut down and its full release was cancelled. Due to its scarcity and the quality of the tracks, prices skyrocketed while the release remained an enigma. After spending months trying to track down whoever was behind the record, a very delayed response came from over LinkedIn (of all places - one of many methods tried) simply saying “what you wanna know?” followed by a US phone number. This finally led to unravelling the mystery behind the release.

Both Voye and the original label owner, James B Boggs, had no idea that the EP was so in demand and were absolutely stoked about doing a reissue. They both live in North Carolina and left the music industry behind nearly two decades ago, so it means a lot to them that people are still enjoying their work.

The EP is a product of the Florida Breakbeat scene that was happening across the US during the mid to late 90s, which the original label was heavily involved in. One of only two Voye EPs ever released, this collection of tracks has been re-mastered by The Exchange in London using the original master CD from the now defunct label's owner.

Selwa Abd (originally from Morocco, currently residing in Brooklyn) uses the fictional character Bergsonist, from Brooklyn, Slovakia, as her musical guise. Derived from Deleuze's Bergsonism, Bergsonist uses intuition as a method to deliver her/his instinctive psychoanalytic theories.

A blend of different audio sources and samples are used as a way to capture the essence of the 'present' moment, manipulating found sounds along with self-concocted digital fragments to combine in in the span of a set, given time. Bergsonist allows inspiration to come from anywhere, yet she/he limits themselves by the gear/tools that are used. The approach consists of inhaling all the energy of the city - influenced by trips to museums, galleries, shows, talking to people. and sensing nature - and exhaling it sonically. Bergsonist reacts to this energy and inspiration without any specific rules, styles, or genres - extending the array of possibilities by always pushing preconceived uses of the tools.

Following a slew of cassette-only releases from labels across the global map and a split 12" with Isabella on Borft Records last year, Selwa shares her most twisted and considered compositions to date with Mutation. Four fire-stoking tracks of electro convulsions sparked from indecipherable depths inflame new terrains for an artist whose output is inextinguishable - prolific barely covers the rapidity with which Bergsonist shares new jams to a lucky few - proffering Mutation as an indelible moment in Selwa's blossoming career. Mutation features a ripped / thrashed remix from in-the-cut edit wizard, Murray CY. Mutation will be available in a limited vinyl edition of 200 with artwork designed and conceived by Selwa and Benoit Canaud Studio.

4 hot tracks from the vaults of Brooklyn based producer, Doxa.

2021 Repress with basic artwork! The best, hardest and darkest exaltics so far, the last of the 1000 lights in the Sky trilogy. Atmospheric dark electro/techno, the best in the business!

NYC by way of Miami, Moist 96 is a new project of Rene Nunez, mostly known through the years for his work under the name, Horoscope. Culled together from decaying tapes, bled out and dubbed one too many times over, Nunez took pieces from these 4 track demos drawing back on the music of his youth; Miami bass, freestyle and coked out funk to create this record. The lp being a raw in your face snapshot which is the musical equivalent of a pit bull being locked in a car for hours during a heatwave with the afternoon mix show on full blast.
As the artist says, "

This is not trying to be some jokey-ironic-funny-costume-campy bullshit. It is trying to be on some real illegal pre-internet bootleg rush-hour mix; 808's on blown-out car systems; cassette tapes melted in the center console speeding by Hot Wheels and Club Madonna’s neon signs; pants-shitting bass frequencies, like a roundhouse kick to your chest type shit.

If you’re tired of all this cum fast video game techno you might enjoy this project. And if you don’t, that’s cool, too.

I hope everyone keeps their head up, Releasing music right now can feel stupid and unimportant, but hopefully this record can take your mind off shit for a second and have some fun. Thanks for taking the time and listening. "

Science Cult regulars Serge Geyzel and Karsten Pflum deliver a strong 4 track Breaks and Electro EP on white and blue splatter vinyl.

Super Rhythm Trax's sister label Bleeper welcomes Snuff Crew for 3 tough cuts of jacking Techno fit for dark warehouses with smoke and strobes. Off kilter gurn-drones and the wonderfully suggestive 'Where's the Bad' sample take over the A side while the ear-worm strings and bounce of 'Naughty' meet the pacey yet tongue in cheek 'Warehouse Boy' on the flip.

*** Braindance Alert *** Welcome back 4rd. Instant classic.

After a first release on CPU Records last year, the Montreal and Lahti-based duo is back with a new EP on WeMe Records. Hexamer Recon comprises six tracks of hard-hitting, acid-tinged live jams recorded in Montreal earlier this year.

The Album was the fourth LP released for Rephlex and was the first and only time that Grant Wilson label Claridge and Richard James's label released in a digital format only, "The Album" contains 13 tracks amongs the best rhythmic and melodic experiments of the Italian duo DArcangelo on Rephlex, from the musical planetary thoughts of 'Memento' to the brazen "Wild and Loose" walk and the 'Naara' frantic minimal due.. the marked rhythm of 'Circuit Deevel' while or 'Coal Garden' moments of various broken style. Now thanks to WEME records 'The Album' is printed on vinyl for all those who love the idea of having a tangible listening and tactile possession of this release. Listen, take it, collect it.

DJ Sotofett and LNS have teamed up with Tresor Records for Sputters. The double-vinyl album with 15 cuts spans a hybrid of warped electro and psychedelic hypnosis, all the while remaining fixed in an unmistakable dance release. Recorded between 2017 – 2020, and bookmarked throughout by intros and interludes dug out from archival material, it's a deconstructed yet classic compound of techno-sonics.

LNS from Calgary, Canada, is rooted in braindance, electro and acid. Releasing 12inches on both her self-titled imprint LNS and Sotofett’s Wania - LNS, whilst in the studio, has often pointed out “the lacking blend of dub and electro in dance music”.
DJ Sotofett, hailing from Moss, Norway, is among a myriad of things commonly known for the extended work of his Sex Tags Mania and Wania labels, without forgetting his afro, dub and jazz releases on Honest Jon's London.
Together both artists give space to a guest appearance by E-GZR, a fellow Wania artist, to open the Sputters journey. The sinus bending drum stutter of K.O. by E-GZR collisions flanging basses and chronic-inducing synth pads to blueprint the technoid atmosphere to come. LNS & DJ Sotofett take control with El Dubbing, evoking an effect-heavy demeanour, typical of the Sex Tags Mania soundworld that DJ Sotofett is responsible for, this time rubbing up against solid electrified rhythms. The hypnotic moods carry over to Dúnn Dubbing's deep delays, freely running over a surprisingly minimal skeleton retaining a solid direction. Crafting a warmly emotive end of Side-A with sparse rhythms to perfection.
A meaner turn introduces Side-B. Hints of electro are scattered everywhere, fat basslines, ricocheting drums and synths that mourn and drift in and out of harmony. Vitri-Oil exposes a tumbling sound design, fog-lit chords of material fragility and nosedives - with an alive mix that wallows and grows in equal measures. The side closes with Shim, a classic drift between house and techno releasing sensual euphoria with the albums first big surprise – grand strings.

“LNS wanted to sell her TR-606, while my reply was for us to make a track with the 606 sounding so fresh that she'd never even think about selling it again” Sotofett states. Side-C proves the artists to be some of the most singular producers around with album centrepiece The 606. Clocking in over 10 minutes, it kicks off as a driving techno banger, chugging bass and big chords. Midway through everything falls away, and out of the void enter scattered drums and improv piano lines emerge, while twisted dubs lead us back in an enduringly warm groove.

Side-D sets the clock back to the original electroid foundation of the album, casting fires with alien vibrations. Synchronic Bass Blort is a hard-hitting electro track, steaming sonics and thrills, its melodic hook diving in subterranean motions. On Sputtering the duo raspily beams into outer space, with fizzy motives that disfigure and dazzle while the harmonies of the closing track is for yourself to experience.
DJ Sotofett and LNS deliver an album inhabiting a world full of sci-fi sonics and fierce groove. Their sound is free and live, simultaneously wondrous and sharp.

Beartrax is back on his own taste-making electronic label Melodize with a pair of fantastic new singles that get fine remix treatment by the cult underground figure that is Carl Finlow.

American Beartrax has been experimenting with electronic music for 10 years now, and has built up a fine reputation and discography that often leads to Beatport chart toppers and gets big support from high profile DJs.

Up first is Dream Riff, a low key roller with nice melancholic pads and crisp, crunchy hi hats as well as killer bass. It's a melodic musing that really carries your mind away from this world while keeping your body locked to the drums. Remixing is Carl Finlow, who has been an electro mainstay for decades. His version is haunting and minimal, with spooky bass notes and clacking hits that makes for a deep and atmospheric jam. Repentance closes out with nagging bass and a lead melody that is cautiously optimistic.

This is another classy EP from all involved.

No many words needed for this record except that we are more than pleased to welcome into our home an artist that we always admired a lot, who always knows how to surprise, and this time even more, with a record that shows another side of him that had not emerged too much until now. This is our next. This is Chris Moss Acid. Mastered by Alden Tyrell

To feel the future is to feel the fall into time. For the fourth instalment in Tresor's 'Kern' mix series, DJ Stingray (Urban Tribe/Drexciya) presents a device for decoding time in all directions, a sonic prism that refracts our senses into auxiliary components of a total future-rush.With a far-reaching selection that has been worked into his own unique form, DJ Stingray wraps our vertigo around a gritty pneumatic bump with high-velocity swing. His mixing style, prepared for hostile engagements as it is, throttles techno into counter-gravity forces. Wading through a specialised cross-section of Detroit's own dance-floor contagions as well as the contaminated feedback signals from across the global aqua plains, the mix can be summed up in just one word: hectic.Raw, caustic, synthetic rhythm-code pumps frenzy itself through a cascading geothermal fog. Never giving away the cryptographic keys, DJ Stingray works you harder than your heart, adapting your biology to a fractal timeline of viscous systems.Discovery, or uncovering, has to do with what already exists actually or virtually; it is therefore certain to happen sooner or later with enough sweat in the club. And as Kern Volume 4 attests to, DJ Stingray has the access codes and the stealth sense to make a place of a space, and to let it fall into time.Accompanying the mix is a double vinyl. The leading manoeuvre comes from the collaborative efforts of DJ Stingray and Heinrich Mueller under an exclusive NRSB-11 piece. Seven more key titles of the covert assault make up this vinyl edition.

PAWSA is a man making waves across the globe, with his charismatic style and unmistakable flair in commanding dancefloors. Cue PAWZ013 - two club ready, vinyl only weapons that clearly demonstrate PAWSA's power.

Kicking things off, the A side houses 'On Yer Feet' showcasing a beautiful simplicity in PAWSA's production, proving that when every element works in synergy, there's no need to clutter a mix. Marrying a rolling beat and crisp percussion with a bass weight that drives the track, the foundations are laid for an infectious, mantra-like vocal to capture minds and move bodies. The vocal breakdown is destined to be the catalyst for fabled club sit downs the world over, with the drop providing sure fire hands in the air euphoria.

On the B side a brooding, machine evoking bassline and thumping kick are complimented with claps and hats that cut right through in 'For The Few'. Adding in off beat synth stabs, the combination with the mechanical bass is bound to draw dancers into a trance inducing state.

Two heavyweight club tracks destined to do damage, from one of the rising stars of the scene.

Emerging from Madrid’s underground scene, Hoax Believers lands at District 91 to delivers the 3rd release of the label with four perfect dancefloor tracks.

An EP full of killer drums, acid-funk basslines and dreamy electro synths.

“Hoy como ayer el socorro rojo de España cuidará de vuestras familias”
Asturias, Octubre de 1934.

Karl Kave makes his appearance on Lux Rec for their first release in 7" format. Four terse tracks influenced by his past experiences, high and low as they come, tumultuous thoughts and life events. The result is a sombre nostalgia for all that is not there anymore. Coming from Rheintal, a valley on the eastern part of Switzerland, he uses English, German and his native Swiss dialect to sing. Dive into it, meet sadness.

Vinyl Only

Listening to a vinyl record, as you would read a book, is one of the last action where we are not surveilled, analyzed, spied by a technologic company. Nor we are constantly disrupted by messages, advertising or else. This act of resistance helps an alternative technology, such as printed culture, to survive. (inspired by the worlds of Franklin Foer reported by Renato Curcio in his book "L'algoritmo sovrano")

Another Repeat Repeat Repeat outing, another ILK reissue. EP 3 was licensed along with Four Freqs EP to round things off. This time breakbeats dominate over the 4/4 patterns with the help of "Phase 2" and "Qwerks", but "Vicious" reminds us that linear grooves are still in the game.

By popular demand we are excitedly reissuing the 3rd release from Metamorphic, Origins EP by Planetary, carefully remastered from the original DAT recordings! In the interest of preserving the original mood of the release here is the text from the 1993 press release for this record...

In the time before ideas when human life was not even a consideration evolution began. Water from a turbulent sky flowed off virgin Earth into the pools and rivers of creation Meteors coursing the the heavens were intercepted by the mother in order to bring to her the elements needed for her primordial cauldron. 'Origins' by Planetary brings you to this genesis. Your mind swims through the primeval ocean warm with life creation and you witness the beginning. When the music stops your mind and body return to the world of the sentient but you never forget your Origins.

The EP labirinto 2020 marks a welcome back from Spacetravel that combined the tough, futuristic groove with a solid techno influence full off effect.

The horn of plenty arrives at your door, full of freshly harvested produce. It contains fruits of artists you already know and from others waiting to be introduced to you. Don’t be afraid though – they are only your new neighbours. Clear Memory Farms recommends this five track Various Artist EP: EDM-free, sustain-able, enriched with biodynamic electro spells and mystic funk chants. Have a try at this asymmetric game but don’t be surprised to turn into a hairy rebel. Is it worth it? Will you experience all die goede dingen? Seems like we can’t find any good answer for that – find out for yourself.

Maelstrom links up with DeFeKT and Berlin syndicate Mechatronica, to deliver four bloodcurdling electro and techno cuts for the floor, forcefully designed to activate bodies and transport minds.

Not for the faint hearted.

Doug Lee returns to the label under his AN-I moniker, this time collaborating with prolific Greek producer Unhuman on a new four track ep. This is what happens when you take all the right elements of techno, punk and industrial music and smash them together; a fucked up and devastating hybrid of blistering modern electronics. Heavy, but not stark by any means, Lee channels his inner Liasions with his vocal performace through the record. Most notably this is heard on the cut Entschuldigung, snotty laughs and scattered barks accent the stuttered drums and ms-20 feedback; Lee bringing it all together in a sarcastic funked up fashion. Five to Nine sees both producers complimenting each other expertly, clocking in with the most "dancefloor" cut on the ep...a twisted five minutes of screaming psychedelic dance that reaches an epic anti-climax of sorts. A true hit for those who know how to use it right, not to be missed.

The Russian cats are rolling frozen melons on you this winter. Slow hypnotic grooves that will cool you down on the dancefloor, and A Vega style to heat you up on your way home through the snow wheel. This will get you through the night alright.
