Leaving convention at the door with the industrial ambience of opening track ‘Belief System’, before delivering a collaboration with label boss Mønic in the shape of ‘Loyal to the Unsung’, Jason Luxton’s latest outing as Overlook is no way concerned with conformity — something that should come as no surprise to anyone following an artist who’s always been comfortable walking the fine lines between multiple genres. On the B side, ‘Séance’ brings high-frequency tension over distorted drums, before proceedings conclude with a half-time swagger of ‘Sleight of Hand’.

A three tracker by Pugilist that explores cross sections of bass, breaks and techno. There's real variation to the styles here but all have the Australian producers signature mastery of rhythmic low end.

Tristan Douglas returns to Planet Mu with his third Antwood album, the epic ’Delphi’. Tristan has always used conceptual frameworks to facilitate the writing process and ‘Delphi’ is no exception. This time Tristan worked with his girlfriend Olivia Dreisinger to develop a fictional character: the young lovelorn Delphi. She is represented throughout by a recurring melody, with the album developing the story around her. Deeper than this however, ‘Delphi’ represents the hurdles faced by modern lovers, and those felt personally by Tristan, as the album encompasses a wide range of his emotions. The character ’Delphi’ finds solace in escaping to a place, her namesake, the ancient Greek city. She gets lost in her fantasy, realising it is not as she had idealised. “Olivia and I started making the album cover as soon as I knew what direction ‘Delphi’ was headed in. I took objects that had significance to me at the time of production and physically recreated them as “Delphi world” objects, so that the album’s narrative and each track are represented in the cover photo. If you flip the album over, there is a computer rendering by Paulin Rogues of the two landmarks in the ancient city of Delphi - not quite ancient or modern Delphi, somehow real life but also fantastical.” Delphi is an album where the real and the fantastic combine, where functional club music meets evocative piano miniatures. “I ended up working on ‘Delphi’ for over a year, where it developed and grew in parallel to my own life. It became story-like, and I embraced the story-like quality of it.” Perhaps the story of ‘Delphi’ is the story of our own lives. Bedroom Tapes is comprised solely of lost material from a recently discovered box of cassettes that emerged in the process of a house move. These tracks capture some of Paul Woolford’s most wide-eyed and naïve creative impulses at a tender age.

Seemingly lost forever, some were part of sessions that led to him being signed to now-defunct UK techno imprint Blue Basique. This is the first chapter in this archive and an intimate portrait of the artist at a key stage of his creative development.

The tracks have been carefully mastered with a loving hand by Matt Colton who has been meticulous to retain their idiosyncrasies.

A new series by the Icelandic record label Lagaffe Tales. Showcasing different styles of modern dance music. For the first Brot series, we introduce the Reykjavík based talent: Felix Leifur.

BROT 02 keeps the series going and brings a dub/breakbeat infused sound to the table as Felix Leifur continues to impress with the new soundscape he seems to delve into. BROT 5 & 6 lean towards the old jungle sounds and BROT 7 & 8 bring back the electro-tinged theme we started with.

On the A1 Chekov follows up their moves on Peach Discs and Timedance with a proper peak timer, they've been described by Ben UFO as 'king of the build up' and that's evident on this one. At the A2 London's Doppelate makes their Cong Burn debut with an elegant tech-house roller. Fresh from Russia's underground is Camin, on this, his debut 12" release he drops a useful tool which squeezes between electro and techno. Cong Burn founder Howes closes the B side with some warm hypnosis that could have landed in the golden era of Workshop.

Entering their 6th year and after a short break, Holdie Gawn & Micawber are back in action, delivering the long awaited 10th Sylphe release. Back to their usual A / B format, the Sylphe duo combine forces for a solid EP, which opens with ‘’Gleech Huis’’ - a stomping, bassline heavy broken 808 beat, techno house jam on the A side. Holdie Gawn builds upon these elements, introducing a lush shredded vocal and sparkling textured melodies, building a song out of track. Flip to the B side for Micawber’s ‘’Parsec Telemetry’’ a peak time techno rolling groove, with a punching bass and many layers of glitch, glassy sound design and busy percussion, arranged with a minimal approach on the back of a persistent beat. A joint release between Natural Sciences and FTP, Texas Terrotech volume 1 is a combination of hyper-frentic futurism with the gritty global sound of the streets, wherever it comes from. It's the pop music on the radio, combining that with innately adaptable, yet eminently absorbable form which evolved in these different little things, all compatible , yet closely related. When they are decoded from the genome of our global musical collective, their inter-relatedness becomes even more clear, and a new perspective can be gained.

Venezuela born, Barcelona based Cardopusher's career goes back over 12 years- the proverbial 10,000 hours to master a skill long fulfilled. His forthcoming LP "New Cult Fear" on Boysnoize Records proves it through disciplined, focused craftsmanship. It's the type of no-frills production that deceives the amateur listener with it's simplicity, while the seasoned listener knows that the simpler the elements, the harder it is to make a track that moves the dancefloor. Moving dancefloors it does, although there's few smiles to be had. This is music for dark rooms, for Nitzer Ebb's famous pairing of "muscle and hate." This is being electrocuted by a broken TB-303- only you find the feeling erotic, your exclamations recorded on a haunted reel-to-reel. And it's never sounded so good.

Marrying an insistently metronomic groove with an intense, mind-bending, looped and layer structure, he takes the track on an entirely different journey before stripping everything back and dropping down and launching into those hallowed unforgettable chords, in a classic 'raise your hands if you understand' moment, all timed to complete perfection.

A various artists including the legendary Italian duo Monomorph (aka D'Arcangelo) with an epic & rare ambient track released only in cd in 1996 on an obscure compilation produced by the defunct italian label Disturbance Records . In A2, this 10th release features one of the most relevant electronic producer of the last years, the enigmatic Brainwaltzera. The flip side is very well populated too: welcome back The Jaffa Kid (one of the finest junglizer these days) , SSIEGE (pure esoteric ballad, divine!) & the label boss, Rawmance.

The third release in the Anopolis trilogy coincides with the founding of Anopolis Records.
Like the previous two EPs, DIMADOU takes reference points from the sound of the 90s and avoids getting bogged down with track titles. The first track, A19 is noticeably influenced by the Sheffield scene and Rising High records. The EP continues with the heavy bass line and the TR-707 drums of A18, a strong nod to the Chicago sound. On the B side, drum machines dominate in A21 and A20 with their piercing sound hinting towards the style of Ron Hardy. Rounding off the EP is the atmospheric A17 and its warm, hazy pads.
This final part of the trilogy is simultaneously the beginning for further releases through the project s new imprint Anopolis Records.

Karen Gwyer returns to Don't Be Afraid with her first new work since 2017's Rembo LP, which gained critical acclaim for its powerful body music and melancholic melody led pieces. Man On Mountain EP is a further evolvement of the duality and nuances in moods and emotions that make Gwyer's music so impactful. Resetting, rebuilding and subverting atmospheres and rhythms is a constant in her music and Gwyer builds on that more in this latest instalment.

The low swung weight of opener Faces On Ankles' bassline is full of suspense, alternating between rolling fluidity and unpredictable kick patterns, while a dubby melody dances alongside glossy, introspective arpeggios. The EP then weaves suddenly into cosmic drone that snarls with tension and desolation on Ian On Fire. You can sense contrasts between these two musical spaces – luscious, bouncing techno that nods directly to Gwyer's Midwest upbringing (Faces on Ankles, Cherries On Shoulders) and darker drone experiments where light peeks through the composition that adds balance to the mood, (Ian On Fire, Ribbon on Neck). Gwyer's music takes a different path with each record while holding onto elements of previous incarnations of her sound and Man On Mountain adds new dimensions to the bold and open minded spirit she embodies.

DJ Delish lives at the epicenter of East Coast club culture, having cut her teeth on the ballroom circuit as both a DJ and performer. XP marks her first outing on vinyl, and she pulls no punches.

Kelly Lee Owens releases a 12” featuring Let It Go, a track made for her DJ set at Fabric earlier this year and now made available through the Adult Swim Single Series. Let It Go & accompanying track Omen will be released on pyhysical through Smalltown Supersound on July 5th.

Sonic Groove Records is excited to announce a new artist addition to the label roster, Crystal Geometry hailing from Grenoble, France. Recording under different aliases in the French Hardcore/techno scene for over the past 20 years, producer Maxime Fabre is now honing his skills on creating a powerful hybrid of EBM/Industrial/Techno under his Crystal Geometry guise. His debut EP for Sonic Groove titled 'Red Faith Militia' is a ferocious 4 song release conceptually centered on themes related to the former Eastern Bloc and the ruling Communist government. Created with analog modular systems all four songs are chock full of intricately woven patterns of syncopated bassline sequences, dark string pads and overtones, spoken and shouted vocal phrases layered on top of pounding industrial rhythms. This is the real deal EBM, that reminisces with the first wave of Belgian & German EBM but is squarely placed in the here and now with very contemporary sound design & production techniques.
