Techno Vinyl New Releases - News
Wolfskuil founder Tripeo aka Darko Esser presents four esoteric cuts titled 'Synergy EP' on Rekids, including collaborations with Doka (as The Leap) and Clone Basement's Cadans.
As Darko Esser the Dutch DJ, producer and label owner has been active for over two decades, helming his illustrious Wolfskuil Records label, which has recently hosted records from Shlømo, Cadans and Rumah. Following a series of releases on his eponymously titled Tripeo imprint, Esser's appearance on Rekids is his 2018 debut and marks his first outing on another label in nearly five years.
Alongside fellow Dutch producer Cadans, who has releases on Neighbourhood and Clone (when not producer drum and bass as Icicle), 'Rave Tune' kicks off in emphatic style, delivering alluringly bright strings and oscillating bass slabs. Esser then pairs up with Doka as The Leap, producing alarming synth swirls and thudding percussion for an energy filled spectacle titled 'Idiocracy'.
On the flip, Tripeo balances otherworldly chords with slick drum design in 'Need For Nuance' before concluding with 'Zeitgeist' with its electro styled groove layered with glistening melodies, eccentric sonics and heavenly leads throughout.

Roel Funcken doesnt need an introduction. A long career, along with his brother, under the prism of multiple aliases as Quench, Funckarma, Legiac (...amongst others) are more than enough endorsement. His ambient textures maintain a cinematic quality throughout, while his percussive arrangements retain a constantly mutating framework, always reconstructing its rhythm and structure, contradicting complex configurations and minimal design. In 'Sapper Morton EP', his debut in AF, Roel explores bright territories close to the electro, full of edges and shades, painting evocative landscapes. If you add a remix from the acclaimed James Shinra you have a must release.

If you thought you heard it all get ready for the Star Shepherd! Legowelt teams up with The Hague's misfit consortium Baglover and presents 11 songs made with the self build Star Shepherd synthesiser. From sing-a-long existentialist exotica to power-noise ambient to wooly hypnotic saturated melodies - embrace this new dawn in lo-fi counter culture synthesis and wash your virtues away! ''Enter the STAR SHEPHERD a synth I build/bent/hacked/modified from old guitar pedals, FX and EQ boxes, a small AM radio and a 1981 Casio 403 keyboard. The oscillator section is made out of Pitchshifter/Harmonizers/Sub Octavers and a graphic EQ pedal to create complex harmonic tones - transmorphed from the simple keyboard sounds fed by the Casio. The sound then goes through a bunch of circuitbend analog delays, reverbs, Tremolos & vibratos (figuring as makeshift LFO sources) and Wahwah pedals as filters. The AM radio is figuring as an adventerous random noise source. There is also a very simple keyboard style 'sequencer' made from a looper pedal. The case is made out of cheap plywood and everything is held together with screws, glue and tape. It is very noisey, crackley and sometimes starts doing its won thing - like some sentient synthesizer-being that is a;ive. This makes it quite an undaunted experience'' D.

Finnish Electro Acid versions of Metrosessuale, the first part of Nefertyti's Metro-series (coming in various formats). A-side's original with vocal hits & samples, it's acid from a city where this style of music seems as common as air in some circuits. On B-side J.Remote adds more hectic groove, bass & acid resonance but sticks to original cow bell. On Jimi Tenor's label Ronet!

Since 2008 Düsseldorf based producer and live wizard Stefan Schwander deeply concentrates on his always evolving electronic venture named Harmonious Thelonious. It besprinkles the world with fractional musical structures in the spirits of American minimal music, in order to immingle them with African rhythm patterns. Exceptional hypnotic opiates, enlarged with twisted harmonies and tricky rhythm archetypes. All heavy danceable!
After five magnetic albums for labels like Emotional Response and his old home base Italic as well as a highly acclaimed string of EPs for in-demand platforms like Asafa, Diskant, Disk, Kontra-Muzik, Meakusma, The Trilogy Tapes or Versatile Records, he now produced a heavy arresting 'Petrolia' LP for Marmo Music - a label that is not new to Harmonious Thelonious. Already on the label's second release Tru West: 'The DOWC part 2' his 'Sunset Liturgy' fingerprints are audible with a moving remix. Now he delivers six epic tunes that only partly dance the familiar Harmonious Thelonious dance. There are deeply traces from Africa and Arabia. There is the polyrhythmic witchery that makes his music special. But in contrast his new tunes are more mental then his former ones. They have a menacing industrial feel but yet continue to be enlarged with the enchanting spirits of the land of the Sahara. Furthermore, there is a slight manic touch arising from nervous electronic and foremost organic melodies. The live played jittery is coming from the Berlin based experimental musician Ghazi Barakat, also known under monikers like Pharoah Chromium or Crème de Hassan for mind shredding ambient, drone, experimental, noise, industrial, free jazz and free improvisation music from beyond. For Harmonious Thelonious Barakat, who also produced together with Marmo Music artist Günther Schickert the collaboration album 'OXTLR' in 2014, tuned his wind instruments Rauschpfeife and Kangling elflock-stricken the Master Musicians of Jajouka way. And instead of giving them a prominent lead position, Schwander deeply implements his tones into his propulsive creations to evoke a modern rhythmic meltdown of Occident versus Orient spheres that exhale a deeply absorbing soul.
A record, who's psychedelic energy fits perfect into the Marmo Music cosmos - a world where the progressiveness of the 70ties continues to live in the current to disband all white bread musical norms for the energy of music without classes. Dancers of the world, unite!

Parisian imprint Hard Beach Entertainment follow up some great releases by Corporation Mindfuck, DJ SCSI and Bastien Carrara with some old-school electro vibes by the mysterious Reflective Souls. This is their second release for the label. Beginning in bold fashion with the brooding retro bounce of "Doom 2020" on the A side, but it's on the flip where this 12" really shines. The evocative Motor City aesthetic of "G Club Live" was a particular highlight, while the tough electro-bass of "Body Control" has a wicked groove that's more than capable of getting some heads-down moments on the dancefloor.

Following 2017's 'Path of Ruin', DJ Richard returns to Dial with his much-anticipated sophomore LP, 'Dies Iræ Xerox'. Undoubtedly one of the most distinctive and fully-formed electronic producers in recent memory, DJ Richard imprinted the sound of a bubbling US underground with his label, White Material, founded in 2012 alongside Young Male. His first solo LP for Dial, 2015's 'Grind', found DJ Richard delicately establishing a discipline between his East Coast noise heritage and a physical, emotive tradition of house music, mastered during an extended stay in Berlin. Now firmly settled once more in his hometown of Providence, 'Dies Iræ Xerox' is a personal and uncompromising journey that finds the Rhode Island native in reflective form, journeying without compromise into both his creative influences and personal psyche. In part adapting its title from the Latin hymn 'Dies irae', otherwise known as 'Day of Wrath', 'Dies Iræ Xerox' melds the physical and psychological aspects of DJ Richard's production ethos in sharper, more widescreen vision than before; the oceanic swells of ambience yet more powerful, and the rigid basslines sharper still. With the chaos of the Berlin club scene an increasingly distant memory, the album is enriched with a contemplative, even brittle tone, as informed by film soundtracks and literature as the pulse of city living. Still, this is new material from DJ Richard, a touring DJ as distinctive as any other to be found behind the decks at some of the world's finest clubs and festivals. On 'Dies Iræ Xerox', the artist finds the space to write 'the records I really want to play', and each suggests a template for genuine dancefloor transcendence, beginning with the electrifying 'Vanguard' . The sludgy yet sophisticated crawl of 'Tunnel Stalker' sets the tone for the menacing yet somehow melancholy EBM of 'In Broad Daylight', while the record draws to a breathless close with the affecting, drum machine lethargy of 'Gate of Roses'. Drawing little distinction between his more physically rousing material and searching soundscapes, 'Dies Iræ Xerox' instead finds a passage of catharsis throughout both. 'Dissolving World', the album's breathtaking centerpiece, is a choral feature hypnotically overwhelmed by walls of electronic feedback, forging a dramatic link between old ways and new. On the bold and near-beatless 'Ancestral Helm' and 'Final Mercy', DJ Richard seems to grant both music and raw emotion the ability to simply float in the air, brilliantly, poignantly unresolved. If 'Grind,' inspired by the weathered coastlines of Rhode Island, was a record concerning "the border between civilization and the ocean," then 'Dies Iræ Xerox' is an unapologetic follow-up concerning that between macabre obsessions and fear of death. Produced during a murky, transitional period, DJ Richard found himself particularly drawn to Medieval European art and mysticism, fascinated by depictions and philosophies of the antichrist and end-times. Greatly influencing the uncompromising, apocalyptic tone of the album, these investigations have created an engaging and personal vision of the 'Day of Wrath.'

Cititrax release Cherskogo Drive, a full length LP of 6 tracks from one of Moscow's leading underground electronic artists, Pavel Milyakov aka Buttechno. He may not need any introduction to some but to those not in the know, he's a unique, relatively new yet prolific musical artist who uses a vast range of instrumentation to create his sound. His music captures the listener in the most thoughtful, precise way.
Milyakov makes spacious, dystopian, and wonky reflections on techno that mirror the expansive barrenness and desolation of his high rise-dominated environs. Despite keeping a relatively low profile, Buttechno still manages to attract significant positive attention, whether providing 'spastic electronics and fireball ballistics' in one of the local Boiler Room event or creating soundtracks for European fashion shows. He has close ties to the area's design and fashion scenes, and his own artwork fleshes out a singular aesthetic.
The 6 tracks on this LP range from driving electro to 90s techno to slower paced, dirty, perfectly pitched 808 sounds. The LP is pressed on 160 gram black vinyl with the first 200 copies presented on grey vinyl, all housed in a heavy printed high gloss sleeve, lined in black with black paper inner sleeves.

Mannequin Records is honored to present a 2xLP retrospective compilation of the french electro/wave pioneer Le Syndicat Électronique, the historical electro/wave project by Alaxis Andreas G., founder of the seminal Invasion Planète Recordings - the first French minimal electro/wave/experimental label founded in late 1998 by the insurance proceeds of a car crash. Vinyl pressed on black 160 gram housed in a full color printed sleeve limited to 500 copies with insert.
Heavily influenced by the work of masters like Kraftwerk/John Carpenter/Front 242, Alaxis Andreas G. is responsible for many others dark electronic / industrial / neofolk projects - to name a few: A//, Bruta Non Calculant, Swesor Brother, La Séduction Des Innocents, It & My Computer, Eva VIII.
After many years of supporting his artistic vision and direction, we decided was time to collaborate together in this killer 2xLP compilation, which includes 5 historic tracks never pressed on vinyl whose 3 are released for the first time ever.
Tracks selected, re-mastered and arranged by Alaxis Andreas G.

Living legend Cosmic Force is welcomed on Something Happening Somewhere for an all-out electro affair including a collaboration with national treasures Legowelt and Orgue Electronique. As the name implies, Transmitting Illicit Logic is a tale that can't be understood solely with our binary brain cells. Reality always escapes the corridors of the mind and fails to be caught in it's believed opinions and oppositions. Cosmic Force is here to guide you through the maze and helps you to relax these muscles, trading it for a more direct energetic connection that will put you into hyperspace.
Mighty Envy is an unforgiving piece of arp centred electro, pushing the envelope without letting go of the gas pedal. Pulsating bells along the way signal you onto the cosmic runway, there is no space left except to surrender. Haunted By My Past accelerates to even further places. Inspired by EBM it's a funky dance floor workout in which a sexy AI tells you everything about you you've never wanted to know. The great digital escape, you're trying to make way to the reboot button but finally find out the damn thing doesn't exist.
In Transmitting Illicit Logic we first encounter an older AI model which got stuck in one of its own created habits and as a consequence is only left spitting out deranging synth arpeggio's. After we pass him we find a doorway to a hidden bar... the rest is history. Grand Theft Auto meets stripped back robot moves. Finally, we have Silicon Scally remixing Transmitting Illicit Logic, warping you to an even tougher and weirder dimension.

Sombrero Galaxy (also known as Messier Object 104, M104 or NGC 4594) is an unbarred spiral galaxy in the constellation Virgo located 31 million light-years (9.5 Mpc)(2) from Earth. The galaxy has a diameter of approximately 50,000 light-years, 30% the size of the Milky Way. It has a bright nucleus, an unusually large central bulge, and a prominent dust lane in its inclined disk. The dark dust lane and the bulge give this galaxy the appearance of a sombrero. Astronomers initially thought that the halo was small and light, indicative of a spiral galaxy, but Spitzer found that the halo around the Sombrero Galaxy is larger and more massive than previously thought, indicative of a giant elliptical galaxy.(3) The galaxy has an apparent magnitude of +9.0, making it easily visible with amateur telescopes, and it is considered by some authors to be the brightest galaxy within a radius of 10 megaparsecs of the Milky Way. Its large bulge, its central supermassive black hole, and its dust lane all attract the attention of professional astronomers.

The 'Law of Seven' refers to the spiritualist philosopher Gurdjieff's idea that the evolution of phenomena proceeds according to a universal seven-step process. Clay tells us that while this idea did not strictly factor into the composition of these tracks, 'you could abstract some elements into the musical creation process. Gurdjieff was quite a thinker, but also composed music so I thought the lines I was drawing carried some weight... in particular his notion that 'Creation proceeds through increasing restrictions' which I find to be incredibly relevant to my process at least. Time limitations and performance settings particularly seem to allow me to be far more productive than just working freely with no solid end point in mind.'

After some ground-breaking live shows and their 2016 debut release for ART - London Modular Alliance have gone from strength to strength to become one of the most in-demand and popular electronic acts. Their brash yet sophistictaed brain-melting tracks have been featured at clubs and festivals worldwide incl. London’s Planetarium, Reaktor - Amsterdam, Printworks - London, etc. LMA themselves have described ART20 as their favourite collection yet - and indeed the production skills on display are stunningly impressive. Space and dynamics are tough to master yet when it is handled correctly it leaves room for a heavyweight sonic assault as displayed here. From the creepy, sinister yet tongue-in-cheek vibes of Lavendah - to the lush Detroit/IDM style breakdowns of Peach Hat. Harnessed Black Holes is the perfect cruiser track - stately and majestic whilst the EP ends with the throbbing, strobe light-only style of title track Precious Materials. Another landmark release from these fine purveyors of Electronica. ART is proud to present ART20 early this summer 2019.

* After the various artist's ep "Restless Breed 3.0" and Chordata´s Electro Ep - "The Masg of Orahii" now the first LP on STONEDWAVE is released by the Scottish producer Soundex Phonetic.
STONEDWAVE009 is an LP which comprises 9 fast-paced electro boogie tunes arranged in a logical order.
It could easily serve as the soundtrack of a hectic old school c64 space fighter game or as a soundtrack of a film noir / sci-fi movie with the imaginary plot of a pilot on a mission with his vessel. Reminiscence of Jochen Heym´s "Sononaut" EP might come up to you which are right as for the topic yet this album is an action-packed journey with a lot of laser shots, vessels floating around at high speed, some stops at a fuel station and hopefully finally a happy ending.
* Dj Vadz and Chip Tronic have the opinion that this one reminds them of an old Buckfunk 3000 record of the late 90ies. It is something "old" but done with current technology => this is a dancefloor sci-fi novel.
* The 808 is used heavily on this one. We have lasers, glitches and a lot of Bass!
So let us start the plot!

The title of the compilation, Swedish for 'It's grim up north', describes the atmosphere perfectly - in Swedish, 'grymt' also means cool. The gloomy cover was designed by Erik Soderberg. Subtitled 'Swedish Synthetic Darkness', the music on the album is intense, hard and cold at first listen but boiling with emotions underneath the surface. Expect industrial, EBM, coldwave, acid and everything on the spectrum between electro and ambient. Thank you for the music.

Berlin-based producer SDX drops an album entitled 'Nocturnal' on Sophia Saze's Dusk & Haze featuring remixes from TXTRL founders 138 and Shipwrec producer SC-164.
Georgia-born, Brooklyn-based Sophia Saze set up Dusk & Haze to release 'genre-free' experimental music, exhibited in the label's debut release entitled 'Solace' EP featuring four versatile cuts from Sophia herself and twisted electro and techno remixes from Umwelt and Benjamin Damage. The second release comes
from the enigmatic SDX, a masked artist who's fiercely championed left-of-centre dance music for decades. Crunchy drums and a thumping bassline kick things off in 'MS 04' before Los Angeles duo 138 provide an outstanding remix incorporating a cacophony of raw breaks. Modulated flutters, warped blips and white
noise create 'MS 08', leading into the organic drums and off-kilter arpeggios of '007' until New York's SC- 164 reworks '007' delivering a pulsating sub and distorted vocal chops.

The Burrell Connection is somewhat a resident with Craigie Knowes; he lived in the same flat in Glasgow with label boss Max when he started the label in 2015, he featured on the first release, he contributed to second fundraiser album, he's also played half of the parties at their Glasgow home, La Cheetah Club, and travelled with the Craigie Knowes DJ team to wow crowds around Europe. But enough of the history, this is now - The Burrell Connection's debut EP with the imprint, Hyper/Orbit. Hyperactive techno and breaks blended together, emotive pads, 808 basslines and that ever-creative and homage-paying sampling ability that The Burrell Connection's noble followers have come to love. New Zealander Julien Dyne is a multi-instrumentalist with
a long and impressive history of collaborative, live and
solo musicianship. Best known for his solo work as BBE and
having worked with the likes of Theo Parrish, Steve Spacek,
Andreya Triana and Lord Echo - one of Soundway's most
successful artists. Dyne has also accumulated a number of
accolades over the course of a 10-year career including but
not exclusive to being hotly tipped by both Moodymann and
Gilles Peterson.
Dyne's new project for 2018 is an 11-track LP on Miles
Cleret's extolled Soundway label. Demonstrating a shift in
gears and movement toward a more uptempo, Afro inspired
sound 'Teal' melds instrumental flair with astute production
and a persistent grain of impassioned, effortless soul. The
album features fellow New Zealanders Lord Echo and Mara
TK, long term band-mate Ladi6, Fat Freddy's Drop trumpeter
Toby Laing, plus Australian vocalist Tim Guy and jazz
luminaries Jonathan Crayford and John Bell. This is a body
