Delroy Edwards has come a long way. 2012 marked his Introduction into the world of Dance Music via Ron Morelli's Imprint LIES. After offering up essential dance floor singles like '4 Club Use Only' and 'Heart and Soul' Edwards' established himself as a producer with a unique touch and style. With a growing desire to control his own output and make a more significant statement, Delroy set off to start his own imprint, L.A. CLUB RESOURCE.Creatively directing his own imprint became a platform for him and over the course of two years L.A.C.R. created one of the most palpable musical experiences in the field. The label released music in a range of styles from a span of generations, the only constant was the high output and stellar art direction. Many releases produced by the label head himself, Delroy's production were lauded for their piercing simplicity, grace and attitude.In his first LP for the label, Edwards' has arranged a sincerely personal moment. The 30-track effort marks a special moment in his growth blending current interests in punk and electronics into an outsider narrative like no other. From Devo to J Dilla the influences across the record are subtle but respectful. Regardless of influence, Hanging at the Beach feels unequivocally new. Experiencing the LP for the first time speaks to the Californian experience in its full range. Certain moments call to the beaches of Monterey while others speak to the sleeze that lines Hollywood Blvd. Edwards doesn't distance himself from the production style that has defined him and the label, but this effort is a long playing collection, a directed, new moment for the
prolific producer.

Revisited, tweaked and rearranged by Kevin Saunderson under his E-Dancer moniker, the album not only offers new additions to the album ('Foundation', 'Into The Future' and 'One Nation') alongside the 1998 originals, but is also poised to fuel a number of exclusive E-Dancer live shows. A collection of songs sure to keep the dance floor lit for decades, 'Heavenly' (Revisited) is making history once more.

Umek continues his Zeta Reticula series for Billy Nasty's Electrix with 'EP 6'.

Last year Umek reprised his Zeta Reticula electro moniker to continue a series for Electrix, which originally ran between 2000 and 2003 prior to the label's more recent re-launch.

'EP 5' released in October last year was highly regarded by the media and gathered DJ support from within the often interwoven techno and electro scenes, from big-hitters like Dave Clarke, Laurent Garnier, Adam Beyer and The Advent, to electro tastemakers like Andy Bass Agenda who welcomed Umek onto his show

Opening 'EP 6' is the bass-quaking 'Reticulum' as the release instantly sparkles and explodes into electrofunk action, followed by 'Solar Analogs', like a ticking time bomb. Both tracks have already seen early radio plays on Dave Clarke's White Noise show

'Rotating Protostellar Cloud' heads up the B-side with its more Moroder / Kraftwerk era sound that's epic and melodious, before 'Circumstellar Debris Disk' completes the quartet, with a flurrying filmatic soundscape approach.

Dark Entries present the sophomore album from Austin, Texas analogue hardware enthusiast Bill Converse. Immersed in the early days of the 90s midwest rave scene, Bill began DJing at a young age in Lansing, Michigan. Luminaries such as Claude Young, Traxx, and Derrick May were key early influences. Techno, noise, ambient and tape processing are all part of his uncanny sound palette. His debut album 'Meditations/Industry' was released on cassette in 2013 and edited for a vinyl release in January 2016 followed by two 12' singles 'Warehouse Invocation' and '7 of 9' the same year.

'The Shape Of Things To Come' is a 70 minute journey spread across two pieces of vinyl. It's comprised of seven tracks recorded directly to tape with no overdubs, made at Converse's home studio. At the time of recording, Bill was sending this material to Josh Vance (Josua Dorje Ngodup) for feedback. Most of the time Josh would respond in the form of artwork, and then Bill would create another track inspired by this feedback chain. Converse has dedicated this series of tracks to him. The songs on this album reveal a sublime influence from Detroit techno, early Chicago house, and Acid. For this album Converse slightly bumped up the tempos geared for dancefloor energy. Built around vintage synthesizer lines and gritty drum machine percussion, the tracks evoke how things have changed and how they have come to be.'

All songs were mastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. Each LP is housed in a gatefold jacket with a painted photograph portrait by Dietmar Busse and layout design by Eloise Leigh. The gatefold conceals an otherworldly collage made by Josua Dorje Ngodup. Each copy includes a postcard featuring artwork from Bill's sister with notes.

Audiosapr is one of the most consistent albums you re likely to come across in Russia s GOST ZVUK entire back catalogue. Surprisingly, the full-length by Saint Petersburg s scene veteran Kuzma Palkin is a compilation of random jams and studio recordings he made in the period of 2014-2015, carefully pieced together by label s masterminds. SAPR stands for the System of Automatic Projection (a Russian term for Computer-Aided Design, CAD) which defines the album s experimental yet complex and interlocking heart. Based around a central theme of immediacy and spontaneity, Audiosapr builds upon the foundations of early, pre-Detroit era of electro and techno, and then progresses the wispy entrails of analogue gear in a contemporary dancefloor direction. It s clearly music that can be attributed as hybrid, however it s not you re going to think about while listening to Audiosapr , Palkin s definitely most inspiring work to date.

Inspired is the illuminated state of consciousness. Four tracks are smoothly mutating looped and dub delays already you are shrouded! Direct assertive drums confidently go forward like an icebreaker and reverb delays mixing with the hissing old tapes atmospheres. Recorded in the spring days, fixed when the consciousness traveled through otherworldly. This is our tenth, anniversary issue and we hope that he finds you in a blessing state of life. Detroit's Burden Bros have long been looked upon with immense respect within contemporary dance music. Having been in operation since 1990 with their 430 West imprint they have long encapsulated the forward thinking vibe of Detroit Techno with their output over the last 20+ years, gaining praise from their motor city peers as well as fans worldwide. Having had success in the mainstream and an enduring underground presence they are well versed in the art of music.
'Point Blank', released on 430 West in 1996, feature some of the brothers' deeper, more subdued, futuristic technoid grooves. After some killer releases on Jelous God and Blackest Ever Black, Parisian producer Tomas More aka December debuts on Mannequin Records with a 4 tracks EP for the 'Death of the Machines' serie. Slow industrial techno mixed with raw EBM-ish flavours.

Electro, Techno and Ambient works from Super Hexagon co-founder Jacob Wiltshire. Each created with a nod to the past and the future.

Swayzak returns with Gestures of a Sycophant. After a back catalogue of severely epic proportions (The seminal album Snowboarding in Argentina for example), A legendary Fabric residency & Mix CD, and a relationship with Tresor that spawned epic gigs and an LP, not to have released a record since 2012 is nothing short of criminal. 2017 then sees Beatnik Boulevard deliver two long overdue tracks of those big room stylings that has become synonymous with the name Swayzak . Even as you succumb to the bass pressure, the oceans of detail and programming flourishes that only come with decades spent in those worldwide techno bunkers bring to mind the pedigree of this release. It was once declared that Swayzak is a Techno Dinosaur - looking back that seems a justified moniker to go with the guttural, brobdingnagian sounds of these compositions. Slow moving though the spawning may have been, the monster has once again awakened.

After the successful debut release 'Schmitzhöhe EP' BergWacht Records is now coming up with the second project 'Arbol del Tule EP'.

two more appreciated ambassadors of melodic techno could be gained over. The idea of producing an EP to pay homage to the trees of our
earth arised after a long-standing friendship followed by 10dens' first gig at a BergWacht Event end of 2012. Once again this is made clear:

The - Arbol del Tule' (tree of Tule) in Mexico is the thickest tree in the world. Equally phatt is the bassline, that directly brings it to the front on A-Side.
Soon, selected percussions and a harmonic touching melody merge into a wide, drifiting and soulfully sound-carpet. With slick modulations
and different synthies, this carpet takes you away on a journey through the track's arrangement.
The highest living trees on earth belong to the species of the evergreen Redwood tree. Using gentle chords, first track 'Redwood' on B-Side
carries you off into the treetops of a mystic forrest, just to bring you down to earth some moments later with a kicking drumset. Striking surfaces
and whizzing, stomping sounds provide for a well-rounded rave-factor, that is constantly built up to the end through changing melodic elements
and breaks.
- Montezuma', last tree and track on this EP, is a real musical plank. Playful tones are dancing over wooden kick and stunning subbass and couple
with blurred effects. Here, too, the arrangement convinces in setup and structure performs magic to this perfect peaktime bomb.

The Brooklyn Sessions bring together old and new Pinkman friends. Annanan returns, this time with Maroje T, for three pieces of NY darkness. Acid tainted torment opens the 12", pain and rejection catalogued in the barren "Confrontations in Terms of Sexuality." "I Saw You" maintains that cold edge. Militaristic percussion is dipped in industrial grease, lost samples circling in a haze of distortion. The pair explore reduction with tracks being boiled down to leave only distilled dread behind. The breathy vocals of "I Am" close, drum patterns looped into machine groan and the aching abyss.

Figure 73 introduces a new face to the family - Manchester-bread and now Berlin-based Setaoc Mass. After recently launching his own imprint SK Eleven and putting out several releases that already tread in Figures lineage of modern, high-precision techno, the label is thrilled to get this promising new artist on board. The five-tracker shows Setaoc Mass at his most versatile yet and clearly displays the producers talent for constructing both strong atmosphere as well as sheer dance-floor effectiveness.

Texas Recordings Underground made its mark this Spring with the well-received techno/electro Cyber_Tex EP that featured electro wizard Cygnus and E.R.P. aka Gerard Hanson. Not to rest on his laurels, TX Connect's Gavin Guthrie is following that up with the 2nd release on the label by Austin's man-of-the-moment Bill Converse. themes.Bill has been known to local Austinites for years as one of Texas' bet DJs and recently released a mix for Resident Advisor highlighting those skills. But it's now his productions that are really starting to show his talents. Iconic label Dark Entries has thought enough of his work to release the seminal double album Meditations/Industry as well as the follow-up 12' Warehouse Invocation. His debut on T.R.U. contains 2 deep excursions with 7 of 9 and Ahead, both tech house masterworks that mix elements of Chicago and Detroit with a Texas flair that keeps it definitively Bill Converse. Ahead in particular brings Ron Trent's Altered States to mind as well as some of Boo Williams' premier work with its synths swirling around the metallic 909 percussion

Get ready for some true wonkiness, courtesy of Neil Landstrumm. This is techno purely for those rock-solid psyches who lack that element of the deranged, the off­-kilter and the strange - on the dancefloor and in their own mental constitution. If you're even slightly in doubt of your sanity, stay well clear of this cut. The fact that he's been using Elektron instruments probably means it's even

more important to have that straightjacket at the ready. Even that won't stop you from dancing, though. Neil has been making wonky techno since antiquity, hell, he's the progenitor of the genre, but what you probably didn't know is that he's also been doing

graphics for Rockstar Games, the software house that brought you Grand Theft Auto. He's been a skilled Elektron user from the very beginning, from the high and far o­ times of the Sidstation.

The Neon Judgement hail from the small town of Leuven near Brussels, Belgium and gave birth to the New Beat and EBM scenes worldwide with the release of their first two cassettes 'Suffering' (1981) and 'TV Treated' (1982). Always a consistent duo of Dirk Da Davo (synthesizers, vocals) and TB Frank (guitar, drum machine, vocals) The Neon Judgment worked in a parallel world alongside Suicide, Cabaret Voltaire, and the Deutsche Neue Welle.

In 1983 they released the infamous 4-song 'Cockerill-Sombre' EP containing the dance-floor smash 'The Fashion Party' on Anything But Records. Dirk Da Davo says, 'First we recorded and mixed the drum parts and effects on 4-track, then we bounced this mix to 2 tracks again what left us with 2 more channels to use for vocals and additional instruments.' Veering between minimalistic industrial drones, odd new wave-ish synth pop and dance music, underlain by cold, mechanical rhythms. The band combine brash and seedy lyrics, with raw synthesizer stabs and repetitive drum machine beats both aggressive and danceable. 'Cockerill-Sombre' was recorded in a small basement room under the watchful eyes of Ludo Camerberlin from A Blaze Colour.

All songs have been remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. Housed in the original jacket featuring a black and white photo of the duo performing live. Each copy includes a 2-sided 11' square insert with photos of the band, lyrics, and liner notes by Dirk Da Davo.

There is a sense of urgency increasingly infecting the human condition, fragmenting our attention span, accelerating our needs and often influencing our motives when making creative decisions. The result is a lack of dynamics, there is no ebb or flow, its 'go' time, all the time. Electronic music is one of the clearest examples of a widening division between great art created in a deeply imaginative vaccum and the soulessly formulaic and branded product that serves the impatient masses. What draws the ESP Institute to Benedikt Frey is his ability to operate on the fringe, outside the constructs artists constantly channel themselves into—his art speaks a pure language that is realized by any means necessary, a process devised solely to articulate his own message, one delivered with patience, never rushed nor dictated by the outside world. Artificial was written and produced over two years, tirelessly sculpted into a sequence abstract pieces that are fiercely independent but accumulate layers of meaning when collaged. It is electronic and rhythm-based, but never reliant on any prescribed instrumentation, arrangement or expecatation. This is our idea of well conceived and executed album; not simply a collection of tracks but a complex narrative that unfolds over peaks and valleys, pulling the listener into emotional corners before leaving a residual impression. Some may describe music very well in words, but there is always something lost in translation—a story only the music itself can tell.

Powell returns to the fray with New Beta Vol. 1 — seven upfront and disarmingly colourful tracks that harness a renewed energy following the intense period of production behind his densely
packed debut LP, Sport (XL, 2016). Thanks, perhaps, to a looser approach and influx of new ideas and machines, the results find him at his most playfully experimental and nuanced, revealing new aspects to his mongrel sound not heard in previous releases.
New Beta Vol. 1 will remind you of what made Powell's music so exciting in the first place — goofy, unhinged sounds sculpted into hard-to-resist and unpredictable arrangements — but in a brighter
rush of clashing tones and splintering rhythms that reinforce his roots in jungle/DNB, wave and early Belgian techno. The result is something comparable to a puckish take on AFX's mutant
Analords or Actress' discrete circuits.
This first volume (there may or may not be more) is effectively the sound of someone raised on all the raving music that the UK post-2000 and the internet has to offer. But rather than some
millenial emperor's new clothes, New Beta weaves its references obliquely throughout the record.
Whether in the curdled gob of chromatic acid opener Teddy, the clash of tart electro arpeggios and stepper drums of Freezer, or the off-the-cuff electro BEATdown of The Bust, Powell persistently transcends his influences in a way that's key to all his work and always thrilling to hear — proving how to do reverential without being derivative.
Despite the range of material on offer (this is more mini-LP than EP), it's testament to Powell's vision that they still sound like him overall. And if any one track sums up this distance from, and
consistency with, his early work, it's the rare beat-less outing of EP closer Electric Sheep, whose visceral, strobing formation betrays a burnt out and unusually sentimental aspect to an artist best known for all-out hedonism.
Cocking a wink at the upfront sonification and syncretic mutations of late '80s Belgian New Beat in both name and form, New Beta Vol. 1 identifies Powell as a more self-aware and emotional Johnny Bravo for electronic music in 2017, serving to subvert the 'roid-rage trudge of EDM and the prosaic mundanity of grid-locked line-dance music with a daringly screwball, anachronistic approach to making dancers feel strange in the rave.

On its third vinyl release Dalmata Daniel presents five originals of J.Mono with an additional remix made by DJ Overdose. Hailing from East-Central Hungary's small town Lajosmizse, Lóri Keresztes is the introverted songcrafter-synthjammer mastermind of the Budapest based underground favourite Wedding Acid Group trio. As J.Mono he stands alone leaning on his machines, making way for his internal world, heart and soul. His first solo release Zzz is troubled and playful at the same time, with moments of electro-acid vibes and post-wave-italo sensibility, tracks that are wonderfully dark even with a light shade of ebm or just softly layered ambient melancholic technoids that make us all the children of Aphex Twin's SAW 85-92 for three minutes. J.Mono's material on Dalmata Daniel is not simply perfect club music for nice people but presents the genuine, intuitive and effortless melody maker ability that makes Lóri Keresztes the silent genius of Wedding Acid Group while DJ Overdose's remix captures and overdrives J.Mono's acid jamming roots. - Puskár Krisztián

* This is the first release in the 6-volume Surgeon reissues label, SRX. Originally recorded 20 years ago, Surgeon's first-ever release seemed to come from nowhere. Techno from Birmingham...really

* It marked the beginning of the hugely influential Birmingham techno sound. Championed by Jeff Mills, Dave Clarke and DJ Hell, two tracks from this release were featured in Jeff Mills' seminal Live at The Liquid Room - Tokyo mix CD.

* A few words from Surgeon about the SRX series:
* While searching through old DAT tapes I was shocked to find how clear and dynamic many of my early tracks sounded, not the way I remembered them from the vinyl releases. Those early tracks, recorded 20 years ago, were mastered and cut by people who had no understanding of electronic music. I actually remember cutting a dubplate back then and being asked if my track was "supposed to sound like that" The engineer was so disgusted at my music that once the cut started he left the room until it was finished.

* Although some of these releases have been repressed many times over the years, they have always been from the original plates from those early cuts; none have ever been re-mastered and recut in their original from. So I began carefully transferring everything from the original DAT tapes and working closely with Christoph Grote- Beverborg from Dubplates & Mastering in Berlin (who's been cutting my all my releases since 1996) to present this early material as it was originally intended.

* Along with the early Downwards releases, I found high-quality unreleased tracks from that time as well as releases that had only been issued in limited pressings; those too are included in this project. For the packaging I commissioned Ken Meier and Yoonjai Choi from the New York design firm Common Name to create some sumptuous sleeve art.
