Having previously released his debut ep on the amazing Great Circles label (as Werner has called Philly his home for the last 8 years..or more) in 2014, those who heard it knew he was up to something serious. With this release for L.I.E.S. M//R delivers the goods through 4 stylistically diverse tracks we see him move through techno, electro, slow beat head nod cuts, and psychedelic broken beat UK cut ups. Usually a record of such would be a head spinning genre disaster of ransom note proportions but M//R pulls it off with style and power, each track strongly standing out on it's own, each with its own true character. American experimental musican Shane English continues in a long tradition of outsider electronics as he's been humbly prolific in his output though the years involving himself in numerous recording projects.Collaborating with Jonah Lange in their group Corporate Park as well as an ongoing collab with Beau Wanzer (seeing a release last year under the CP/BW name), English now commits his second full length solo offering to vinyl in the form of the General Dimensions lp.Sparse machine driven electronics dominate the recording providing a back drop for the occasional pulsating rhythm, metallic clank or floating obscured vocal. While it is a dark and sparse affair there is a quiet downtrodden beauty throughout giving the recording a sense of uncertain serenity in an almost shoegazey way. Highly recommended for those into early electronics.

Hello, I am Qnete and these are my Play-Doh Stories. Some of them are already three years old and it feels like I've become somewhat of a different person since then. Still, I like to listen to them from time to time, thinking of how I was back then, reminding me of what helped shape me, what helped me become who I am now. Sometimes, I also get the feeling that it is not me who wrote the stories. They seem to seem unknown to me, just like they seem to you, because you are not me. Then I listen, and I know again.

Scored by three former members of GOBLIN in 1982 (Claudio Simonetti, Fabio Pignatelli, and Massimo Morante), the synth driven score makes it's definitive and expanded vinyl debut. Waxwork is excited to offer the most comprehensive version of the soundtrack album on vinyl to one of the most important Giallo films ever made.

Unlike the soundtracks that Goblin had previously contributed to the films by Dario Argento, the music of Tenebrae incorporates heavy electronica and dance music blended with rock and disco elements for a unique hybrid of genre and composition style.
Extensive usage of early analog Roland, Oberheim, and Moog synthesizers and drum machines paired with electric bass, acoustic drums and piano were utilized by the wildly talented progressive rock trio to form a sonic template unlike anything offered before it.
The soundtrack has gone on to garner a wave of popularity by being re-released and remixed many times over.

New York City based Further Reductions is the live project from husband and wife Shawn (aka Vapauteen, 400ppm, Let Er Est) and Katie O'Sullivan (aka Rose E Kross, ppG). Back in 2014 they released their gorgeous debut album on Cititrax records. The album was an adventurous trip, where they pushed forward a unique sound. After all those years there will be a follow up to this EP on Knekelhuis. Expect a fusion of different sounds, grimy and pretty at the same time.

Job Sifre is one of the guys bringing new blood into the Amsterdam scene. This is the follow-up to his recently released debut on the new Artifical Space label, where he continues his path of solid EBM fueled electronix. The record ends with the gorgeous 'At Least We Try', showing of his more tripping, rhythmic side. Beautiful complementary artwork by Stefan Unkovic.

Coming from different regions in France, Violent Quand On Aime's members have joined forces to canalize their energies into something truly essential. Far away from hype and expectation they have created their own peculiar world. One of our humble imprint's closest allies and a longstanding pillar of Philadelphia's electronic music community, Billy Werner has been a constant presence in the booth at parties throughout the Northeast Corridor since 1998. We debuted his M//R alias in 2014 with the 'Gathering Response Data' 12" . Since he's been busy bringing the grit to points beyond the City of Brotherly Love, putting in work for the likes of DetailsSound, L.I.E.S. and JackDept. Most recently, he turned out a remix of Karen Gwyer's 'Why Does Your Father Look So Nervous' for the 'Rembo' remixes on Don't Be Afraid, as well as another for Chaperone's 'Grit Neglect' on the aforementioned 'SnapbackBalaclava'EP.

Written, recorded, and mixed over a period of 15 months,'Among The Methods' is in no small part a reflection of the affinities and sensibilities Billy holds as both selector and producer. Referencing a variety of influences from jazz to dub to electro, the album's allure stems from his deft ability to recontextualize those genres' disparate aspects into a familiar-yet fiercely idiosyncratic-musical context.The end result is at once wildly fractured and precision-focused as 'Among the Methods' finds its own seductive rhythm within a matrix of dub echoes and modulated low-end. It's heady ground,to be sure;as well as the most declarative aesthetic statement fromM//R to date.

You can trail away with it. It is easy to enter, but hard to drop out. Tolouse Low Trax just needs an MPC, a small Synthesizer set up and some effects to create subliminal hypnotic music trips, driven by dark synthlines and drunken shuffled patterns. The primitiveness in my music is linked to something simple, and that don't have to be obligatory minimal. For me it is enough to dance rough around the core. Music you don't shape till the end contains of a moment of beauty. A veil of secrecy. I work very simply. I rather reduce my possibilities in ompass. Limitations offer lots of liberties.' He reveals about his work ethic. Even if his music sounds darker then any ever experienced night, he mostly produces it in the morning in his highly inspirational studio home. During the dark times of the day Tolouse Low Trax mostly performs live around the globe. Or hangs out in his second home: the Salon Des Amateurs club bar in Dusseldorf, which he once founded and where he held until today two weekly DJ residencies. The moments and atmospheres he inhales during these lightless moments are mirrored in his shadowy music, about which he also confesses: My art is more a cinematic, literally idea of a large to explore Megacity. This is one of the pictures I would link to my music.' On ' part one he now offers five sounding visions about that Megacity'. They listen to mysterious names like Hidden Flat' or Studies in Drama'. They are nervous. They have ephemeral pieces of dub, Industrial, wave or Italian library music. And at times strangealienated voice samples dance within his highly addictive arrangements. Words can't express their magic. But one thing is fore sure: his hypnotic dance-not-dance tracks do not only illuminate so-called freaks!

Atlanta's TWINS returns with an album of club-ready synthwave for CLEAR. Nothing Left lives on the axis between Wax Trax and WBMX, generating mutant industrial pop for sweaty basement ragers. Matt Weiner, the single entity behind TWINS, is also at the controls of CGI records, a dependable outpost for extraterrestrial club jams. To launch this series label head Eomac teams up with four different artists over four slabs of vinyl, to be released sequentially over four months. The collaborations are improvised and composed, wild and emotive, unexpected and expected and all of them resulting in music that would never have been made by either artist individually.First up is a two-tracker from techno powerhouse and self confessed 'noisician' Paula Temple and Eomac. On the A-side the synth heavy 'Gestirn' takes inspiration from Autechre's classic 'Eutow', driving forward with a broken beat while celestial melodic lines reach skyward to unknown realms. The B-side introduces a wilder beast, with the ferocious, pummeling techno of 'Kralle'. Further collaborations in this first series will come from multi-instrumentalist Seán Carpio, Motus Records boss Demian Licht and sonic renegade Kamikaze Space Program.

Dys Functional Electronic Music is a compilation release from Repitch Recordings, celebrating the label's first five years. Its ambivalent title aims to represent the sonic behaviour of its content, often deviating from norms or distancing itself from common club functionalism. For this release, the 3 REPITCH masterminds Ascion, D. Carbone and Shapednoise are joined by a selection of the artists who contributed shaping the Repitch sound throughout the years, along with guests that inspired them in this adventure. During the past 5 years the main focus of the label was to set up a platform for experimentations across the dancefloor canon, establishing a standout musical identity. A spirit that resonates within each artist's personal approach: from Ascion's dark breakbeats to The Exaltics and AnD's acid frontalism, Shapednoise's brooding noise, Sote's fractured rave, D. From the very first track, it's clear that Abby Echiverri's debut, the 'Ab Initio' EP is something different and rare: a polished and fresh interpretation of electronic music that incorporates classic electro squelches with intricate broken beats and expansive synthesizer zone-outs.

Although this is her first EP, Abby has extensive history as a musician, sound engineer, DJ and VJ. Her current trajectory started early in childhood when she was classically trained in violin, flute, piano and vocals, cementing music as a part of her daily life. In high school she picked up turntables and began collecting records, eventually moving to NYC to study recording engineering and perform in post-punk bands, and became a regular at Wierd and The Bunker at a very young age. Since then, Echiverri has devoted her professional hours to engineering, maintaining, and manufacturing audio equipment for studios and clubs around the world.

This record's name 'Ab Initio' means 'from the beginning' or 'from first principles', invoking a propulsive leap into the future and also perhaps including an element of the eponymous. When we asked her to tell us more about the process of creating these hardware-based jams, Abby explained: 'It all stems from my own experiences on the dancefloor and wanting to recreate that for other people. I want to make music that rewires the brain: music that is challenging, yet groovy... repetitive, yet evolving. An aural psychedelic. It's a lofty goal - I'm still working on it.' If Ab Initio is one of her first steps towards that goal then we can't wait to see what happens next.

A wild Electro / Trash Techno ep with full of heart and emotional feelings. It's wild when it comes to the rhythm section, Classic Electro but also real punshing 4/4 beat. Emotional when it comes to the melodies - so so sweet!!!

Dutch live-act and DJ duo Artefakt return to Delsin Records with an intricately produced three track release entitled 'Falling Into The Light'. Artefakt began releasing music together in 2012 and now boast a discography spanning Field Records, Konstrukt and Deep Sound Channel, not to mention regular appearances on Delsin where their debut album entitled 'Kinship' dropped in 2017. Returning to Delsin, the pair's next outing once again demonstrates their ever-evolving sound and is an exciting precursor for the launch of their own label later this year. Rolling drums open the release in 'The Blue Hour' as murky synths join hazy atmospherics, making way for 'Weltformel' with its racing syncopated percussion and ethereal pads that ebb and flow throughout the mix. Finally, 'Falling Into The Light' combines springy kicks with crystalline melodies, metallic elements and rattling effects to conclude a mesmerising release.

Originally a heavy metal drummer, Bård Aasen Lødemel aka Skatebård, got into techno and rave during the '90s. Hailing from a small town called Ørsta on the Norwegian west coast, Lødemel moved to Bergen where he quickly became part of the student town's growing club scene. After handing over a homemade demo to Tellé Records label boss Mikal Telle, Lødemel got signed to Tellé offshoot label Tellektro in 2001. His first release under the name of Skatebård, a 12" mini album called "Skateboarding Was a Crime (In 1989)" was released in 2002, and Skatebård's reputation as an excellent techno/electro producer started to spread beyond Norway's borders. Since then Skatebård has gone on to release on labels such as Sex Tags Mania, Radius Records, Supersoul Recordings, Keys of Life Finland, Luna Flicks, Totally as well as his own Digitalo Enterprises.
"Skateboarding Was a Crime (In 1989)" was pressed in a very limited edition and sold out quickly. Since then it has been a desired object for record collectors and techno and electro aficionados around the globe. Now the time has come to make the mini album available again, something this true masterpiece really deserves.

Following on from the release of FBA21 Collected Works 1996 -2017, which was released November 2017 Matthew Puffett decided to wrap up the project, with a handpicked selection of artists to remix key tracks from the compilation. Amongst these figures are some significant influences on Puffett`s early years The set includes Kirk Degiorgio, whose reworking of 'Cross Dissolve' reimagines the track in full machine mode, serving up a slab of driving techno for the main room. A fan since the early 90s, Kirk and Matt have been in contact over the years, culminating to this powerful re-creation. Steven Rutter (B12) has also reworked 'Cross Dissolve', but in contrast to Degiorgio, Rutter's mix brings out an almost abstracted, ambient mood, a characteristically expressive and textured piece from one of the leading figures in UK electronica. Hardway Bros, Sean Johnston (Andy Weatherall's partner in 'A Love From Outer Space) tackles 'Mourning', a piece of melancholic euphoria. In typical Johnston style, Sean slows it all down, bringing it to a mid-tempo Balearic vibe. A big influence on Matthew in the 1990s, Lee Grainge used to work at the infamous Fat Cat records. A renowned arbiter of sounds, Grainge turned Matt onto countless records from Detroit and beyond, which was crucial in shaping FBA's sound. Here, he remixes 'Diagram', in a manner reminiscent of classic dub techno, Basic Channel. Another influence on FBA's sound is former Eevo Lute Muzique boss from Eindhoven, Stefan Robbers. FBA recorded a mini album for EevoNext in 2009, and the pair team up again here to reinvent 'Machines Can Help'.

London based experimental publisher Split Music has rapidly gained a unique reputation for its expertise in placing music in audiovisual projects, from Hollywood movie trailers like Blade Runner 2049, The Dark Tower & Mother to brand films for globally recognised designers Adidas, Dior & Puma. This reputation was affirmed this year upon winning the prestigious Golden Trailer Award in L.A. (for the use of These Hidden Hands' music in the brutal RAW Worldwide trailer). Now, from their headquarters at London's live music epicentre Village Underground, they have launched their latest project: the Research label. This new label will showcase the artists they represent by challenging them to push the boundaries of their production process to new levels.

Brainwaltzera and Analogical Force move along the same path, without questions, and always looking forward. "Bunker EP" is the new piece of the puzzle, perfect to increase the legend to infinity.

The stage is set from minute one on Clay Wilson's new 4-track EP, "Skandha," his second release for The Bunker New York.
The eponymous first track begins with a familiar techno throb, but is quickly overcome by a blooming swirl of coruscating synthesizer pulses that seem to gather inside the listener's head, a phenomenon Wilson seems particularly interested in: "I've never been into really straightforward club techno that works in neat 8- and 16-bar sequences," he says. "I'm always looking for things that have forward momentum, ways to escape that 'block-y,' downbeat-centric feeling that you find in so much contemporary techno. For me, it's the drone—what's going on in the background—that serves to hold my interest."

Nowhere is this more apparent than on the record's second track, "Cataleptic." The meat of the track is its tightly-wound techno core built from insistent, hypnotic percussion, but it's what's happening in the background that keeps you coming back for more: The sound of a babbling brook and a plaintive, meandering bird call ("the only actual recorded animal sounds on the record," notes Wilson) gently give way to the tintinnabulation of a distant bell, whose meditative timbre brings to mind a Tibetan singing bowl. It turns out that the naturalistic, organic sounds in many of Wilson's tracks are often just that: "I make field recordings all the time, actually—on my phone," he says. "I've found field recordings have been a great way to pull things along, never repeating themselves, but also never being so upfront as to draw your attention away from the synths and drums."

That's a key point, and make no mistake—for all the flora and fauna lurking in the background of Wilson's productions, they're designed for the dancefloor through and through. "Feres," the EP's third track, slows down the pace a little bit, keeping time with a static kick-hat pattern while chunky, stepped percussion laid on top makes the track feel remarkably dynamic. The final cut, "Pict," seems to slowly unfurl like flowers at dawn, while a ghostly vocal sample (or merely something approaching it) repeats itself underneath it all.

While at times the drawn-out shimmering tones in Wilson's work may recall modern minimalism, "getting into techno, and more specifically techno production, was kind of a way for me to get away from (formal, classical musical) training," he recalls. "I had been headed down an open-minded, anything-goes path with a compositionally-geared approach, and ... all those paths led to techno." And for that, we're glad.

Delsin's reissue arm once again looks to the revered back catalogue of Lost Trax for a second 12" that picks out the best of the anonymous collective's work. The EP features five cuts taken from two highly sought after EPs released on Tabernacle Records in 2011 and 2012. 'The Eye' opens things up with punchy drum programming and the sort of sci-fi effects and synths that immediately take you to a future intergalactic world. It's a weighty but emotional opener, while 'Pulp' is more twisted and urgent, with warped synth sounds and busy, bristling drums and perc all building pressure throughout. Reissue of one of Amsterdam's most respected producers Steve Rachmad aka Sterac 's essential 1996 Detroit techno classic. Remastered and available with full color Artwork:Sterac is considered an excellent producer and he is one of the Dutch pioneers of Detroit techno, producing this absolute classic back in 1996. On the A side you'll find Osirion, a track built on a classic drumloop layered with Rachmad style arppegiators and euphoric strings. The B side features a more abstract 909 Detroit infused loop, full of heavy synths and percussion. Both tracks have stood the test of time and still sound fresh as ever.

In terms of experimental, techno, very few come close to the impact that this UK producer has had on the scene. With a sound that is rarely classifiable, Randomer's Dekmantel contribution is a staggered, minimally-twisted, dark, kind-of-two step, awesome thing. Versatile Records' Gilb'R has found himself an integral part of the Dutch scene since moving to Amsterdam, and brings forth his organic, percussive grooves that have helped define his music, and label to date. Salon Des Amateurs' Tolouse Low Trax provides a seasoned session of amniotic, grizzled, hypnotic post-everything music, that is eerily discomforting and wonderfully pleasurable at the same time. And on the EP's fourth track, Parisian techno wizard, Voiski adds layered organic, futuristic loops that work to stale the progress of time, and space.
To date the 10-year anniversary series has seen new releases by the likes of The Egyptian Lover, Levon Vincent, Gigi Masin, Fatima Yamaha, Burnt Friedman, and many more. Each record is held together by stylistic glue, touching upon the varying facets that come to define Dekmantel as a label, and event series. The new release features 6 tracks and follows Julien's critically acclaimed debut album, Fallen. Released in 2016, the autobiographical LP was a bold new direction for Julien, and the first release under his birth name. Over the years, the Apron Records boss' bold, experimental electronics, jagged club cuts and outside-the-box collaborations have seen him carve out a lane all of his own making. His debut LP was divided into two musically contrasting sides, and told the tale of a fallen angel though jazz-fusion, chiming soundscapes and dark acid-tinged techno.

Since his album release, Julien has continued his creative streak by playing across the globe, from Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai to Montreal and Melbourne, and further developing his label, which released a string of underground 12's in 2017 from the likes of Max Graef, Hanna, Molinaro and more.

On 'Bloodline', Steven continues the soundtrack style mood of 'Fallen' - channeling ominous analog techno, drifting synth-house masterpieces, warm soul and hints of new age. Both the title and artwork is a nod to the influence of Julien's family on his rich musical world and distinct nonconformist style, explaining how: 'the influence my family has given me growing up and my ancestors from Africa to native Indians from the Caribbean, has all played a big part in the music I create.'

Recorded in Apron Studios based in East London, each track on 'Bloodline' also features a tr808 or a piece of a 808, as a dedication to the iconic Japanese engineer Ikutaro Kakehashi, who passed away April 2017. The much-loved Roland founder and TR-808 creator revolutionised electronic music in the 1980s and 90s.

Molten Moods releases another finely curated various artists record with tracks by Skee Mask, Kessel Vale, Jonas Yamer and Konrad Wehrmeister. Kessel Vales opening track Voguing Geisha' is an unconventional breakbeat masterpiece following his sense of harmony and rhythm already shown through previous releases on Tanstaafl Records and Rhythm Nation. As the track unfolds it reveals musical storytelling by integrating a technoid polyrhythmic loop structure into melodic synth figures, slowly deconstructing in the end. Skee Mask collaborated with Molten Moods labelhead and Carl Gari member Jonas Yamer on Fanta Ocean', it being the first release ever outside of his Ilian Tape homebase. The outcome is a moody IDM piece with cinematic qualities, complex but soothing. The B-Side begins with Xenomorph' by Konrad Wehrmeister, who is known by his releases on Public Possession and SVS Records. This trancy yet distorted and detailed electro banger surely takes on the role of the records dancefloor highlight. The closing track Insgeheim' is delivered by Molten Moods head honcho Jonas Yamer. Here groovy kicks, distorted chords and a psychedelic pad are woven into one compelling 10 am techno track. The common thread of Molten Moods 4 is four young Munich artists going on a joint trip into idiosyncratic electronic music. The resulting tracks intertwine as one modern and diverse techno record. Out on 12 vinyl and wav by the end of March 2018. In the tradition of Molten Moods' cost-conscious design strategies by Paul Bernhard, the record comes with a xeroxed low budget sticker set.

For this very special 12" the veteran audio alchemist conjures up five tracks of machine music magic. Squirming, acid soaked electro forms and melts in "Bush Baby Bug Eyes" before the shapeshifting "EQShift Trak." "Language Reponse" goes up a gear, rhythms zipping along on a highway of bright bars as synth lines beam warmth. The flip skids into the corners for the chiptune freshness of "Irrational Momentum" before the wave funk wizardry of the title piece. Howling's Album "Sacred Ground" und seine Entstehung stehen für viele Dinge gleichzeitig: Zusammenarbeit, Improvisation, Einfachheit und Zufälle. Obwohl er gerade das Demolevel überschritten hatte, ging der Ursprungstrack "Howling" Anfang 2012 (via Dixons Boiler Room Set) viral und erregte in der gesamten elektronischen Musikszene Aufmerksamkeit, erklomm Charts und gewann Awards. Keiner der beiden Beteiligten - Singer/Songwriter Ry X und Âme-Produzent/Innervisions-Chef Frank Wiedemann - hatte das erwartet. Genauso unerwartet, nur wenige Jahre später, wider räumlicher Entfernung und musikalischer Ausrichtungen, erscheint nun ihr Debütalbum "Sacred Ground" als Gemeinschaftsprojekt von Monkeytown Records und Counter Records, dem Sublabel von Ninja Tune. Mechatronica White 1 opens with Sneaker's gloomy remix of German synth-pop band Opus Leopard, followed by the electrifying instrumental version of 'Alles' - a relentlessly progressing piece of body music from San Francisco trio, Inhalt. On the flip, Violet Poison summons a fat, trippy EBM-leaning groove, before Daniel Holt finishes off the record with anthemic synths and a ticket to the cosmos on 'Floating Mansions'.

Klasse Recordings and Grafiti Tapes impresario, Luca Lozano, rolls up to Hypercolour with a 12 par excellence of genre blending, future dance grooves. Leaning on his Sheffield upbringing, it's of no surprise that the break beats, edits and bleeps of his native city seeps into his own forward thinking productions. Having racked up some super releases for Sex Tags UFO, Optimo Trax, Crème Organization, alongside his own imprints, Lozano really impresses on his Hypercolour debut. 'Gun Fingers' is a strictly heads down affair, luscious synths, tantalising breaks and heavyweight b-line sandwich in-between pounding kicks for a classy cut, whilst 'Calling All Dancers' is indeed a call to rave, laced with the familiar components of a golden era of UK dance, that never slips into pastiche, instead sounding fresh, vital and relevant to the times. Kindred spirit, DJ Sotofett, weighs in with two versions of 'Gun Fingers' exclusively for the vinyl edition of this release. Those who know Sotofett's killer style will know the score here, and he certainly does not disappoint. And those who spent time chasing around motorways and A roads in search of the party will most definitely know what's up on this set of remixes!
