Hotflush Recordings is delighted to announce the arrival of a second full length from Sepalcure, the American duo made up of Travis 'Machinedrum' Stewart and Praveen 'Braille' Sharma. Arriving four and a half years since their acclaimed debut, 11 track album Folding Time is a singular and tender statement that lands in May 2016.
This special coming together of distinctive musical minds produced a much-loved, self-titled debut LP in 2011, plus six EPs between 2010 and 2013, all of which suggested a penchant for broken beats and bright melodics. Both have since furthered their accomplished solo careers - Braille released his debut solo album Mute Swan, while Machinedrum's experimental exploration of Vapor City landed on Ninja Tune - that have kept them busy in the studio as well as on the road. As such, and owing to their insistence that any production work had to be done in person "since that results in a certain sound and experience you just can't recreate remotely', the new record took some time to come together.
The album, written over many bottles of whiskey, is made up of brand new music, but also tracks that have been worked on, forgotten, then revived over many years. Its title comes from the fact that, 'it felt like we were connecting the present with the past. Going through each session was like digging through old memories.' Stylistically, of course, this pair have very different musical DNAs, but that means studio work cooks up many surprises along they way and results in an album that is awash with everything from field recordings to guitars and electric piano. It is a mix of playing and programming, has many multilayered tracks full of intimate and personal easter eggs and is, essentially, 'two homies hanging out and having fun; a meeting of our minds.'
Right from the distant vocal mutters and blissful guitar licks of opener 'Fight For Us' featuring Rochelle Jordan there is an seductive r&b sensibility to proceedings. Tumbling drums and pained vocals have you in a love locked free-fall before 'Not Gonna Make It' gets to the point with Sepulcure's trademark stuttering drums and fractured vox. 'Devil Inside,' featuring the pair's long time friend and collaborator Angelica Bess, is future pop from a perfect world, 'No Honey' strips things back to a harmonic headspace of bumpy rubber kicks and percolating jungle percussion, then 'Been So True' shows a playful side, lovable sense of sampling and broken reggae rhythm. The second half of the album explores direct dance floor grooves on 'Hearts in Danger', snaking synths and reverb rich beats on 'Loosen Up' and deeper, more introspective moments on tracks like 'Dub Of' and 'Brother Forest' before closing down with a brace of blissfully melodic and dreamy excursions to a beach during sun down.
With plenty of well paced peaks and troughs along the way, as well as a underlying sense of humour and a very real human warmth, this is an album that works on both head and heel in equal measure.

Renormalon is a collaborative effort between Elena Sizova, Heinrich Mueller: music data and Dr Olga Karelkina: visual data + encoding. Its purpose technically is to visually and sonically communicate the renormalon physics principle. Each composition is separate component of the theory representing a particular phenomenon in the realm of quantum uncertainty. The observer is to be immersed conceptually and hopefully will experience discrete states of energy which is integral in atomic behavior.

New 2-tracker by Inigo Kennedy! Moody, fragile electronix on the A-side and a fast-paced techno/dubstep cut on the B-side make sure this 12'' will suit both the collectors and the DJ's.

Jlin returns with the first fruits of her new work since last years 'Free Fall' EP. 'Dark Lotus' is a transition between 'Dark Energy', her debut album, and her forthcoming 'Black Origami' full-length. A-side 'The Return of the Blvck Rxbbit (ft. Avril Stormy Unger)' is the more traditional of the two tracks, starting off proceedings with a constantly switching rhythmic structure and a stop-start sweeping hoover stab panning between the speakers, descending bleeps and Avril's vocals cut into shapes and pushed through effects.

B-side 'Nyakinyua Rise' races headlong into uncharted territory, with a fierce barrage of djembe drums over pounding bass, punchy war cries and jubilant uluations that paint a tension between hot aggression and weightless ecstasy.

Her voice and contributions can be heard on Avery's Drone Logic. Since then, she self-released two white label 12's, with the Oleic' EP to follow.

Her debut solo album is first and foremost Owens' vision, a record that exudes a startling level of intimacy even in its largest-sounding moments - such as Arthur,' a percolating mixture of looped vocals and rustling rhythms that rides on a perpetual near-crescendo. The song is a tribute to the late iconoclastic musician and kindred spirit Arthur Russell. He wrote music and stayed true to his vision up until the day he died, ' Owens explains. He didn't compromise as an artist, and those are the kind of people I look up to - people who know what they want.' On S/T Owens translates that self-assertiveness into a record that explores a variety of moods - sadness, anxiety, darkly shaded ecstasy - with a trippy-eyed clarity and confidence that only bodes well for the future.

Benoit B returns to Banlieue for the imprints third 12"! Scatter gun arpeggios ride on top of bolstered machine rhythms. Sitting somewhere between techno and experimental electro this EP is Benoit B's most accomplished material to date.

Elektro Guzzi combine club music and live performance to a unique, energetic mixture. They overcome the rigid boundary of analog versus digital, unifying the human being with his machines in an unprecedented way and surprising the listener with their innovative productions. Sónar, Roskilde, Melt!, C/O Pop or Mutek are just a few stations among others, where Elektro Guzzi fascinated with their dynamic live show, without the use of computers or loops.

With their new EP - Parade , the first release on German label Denovali, Elektro Guzzi broaden their trinity of drums, bass and e-guitar. With implementing trombones as extra oscillators, dissociating them from their conventional use, the trombones become part of the human-machine-universe and are used as an additional sound source in order to modulate and explore its variety live on the stage.

The four tracks emerged from commissioned work for the Artacts Festival for Jazz and Improvised Music. They move along familiar paths, but also show some new, unusual dimensions of Elektro Guzzi. Opener - Element starts gently, bringing the trombones slowly into appearance, culminating in that driving groove, which whips the melancholic sound of the track. Title track - Parade reveals the new source of inspiration of the Vienna-based trio. From Haitian Rara music, through New Orleans brass bands to Basic Channel dub, Elektro Guzzi create rhythms beyond four-to-floor, with that special, warm vibe, which remains in the ear of the listener.

Recording, mixing and sound design results from a collaboration with sound enthusiast Nik Hummer. The - Parade -EP hypnotizes the listener with its diversity of sounds, with floating and dubby rhythms, situated in a stunning sound aesthetic, in which the feeling of its live performance is conserved.

Pye Corner Audio's acclaimed 2015 album 'Prowler' ('Moody minimal techno throb' - Mojo) has been warped, twisted and reborn as 'Half-Life', the first ever PCA remix album. Featuring 4 new remixes by Clesse, Silent Servant, Cloudface and Not Waving, plus 2 brand new compositions by the Head Technician himself.

The Remixers:

Clesse is Jon Brooks, the mastermind behind The Advisory Circle, Georges Vert and D.D. Denham, as well a member of The Pattern Forms, Hintermass and Woodbines & Spiders. This is Clesse's debut release.

Cloudface has an instantly recognizable style - dreamy, bubbling rhythms supporting hazy melodies, he has released acclaimed records on Mood Hut, Nice Up International and Black Opal.

Silent Servant founded the Jealous God label and is part of the Sandwell District collective and is rightly revered for his brooding industrial-strength techno.

Alessio Natalizia is Not Waving, one half of Walls and the founder of Ecstatic records. Here he provides a suitably avant-garde disco outing.

Combining their influences of dance music, techno, EBM, industrial and post-punk, Silent Servant and Broken English Club offer a new breed of EBM infused techno wave on the Violence And Divinity EP. Cititrax is proud to present a 4 song split EP by Silent Servant and Broken English Club. Although the two are geographically very far apart, Silent Servant based in Los Angeles, US and Broken English Club based in London, UK, the two share a similar outlook and musical approach. Cultivated Electronics celebrates 10 years as a label and the closing of CE's collaboration series. For this EP Sync 24 has teamed up with 4 electronic heavy hitters to deliver 4 tasty electro cuts.

Perhaps best known under his aliases Dalglish and O.S.T., Chris Douglas has been operating under the mainstream for the last 24 years, releasing on labels like Pan, Icasea, Phthalo, Highpoint Lowlife, Shitkatapult and many others.

Douglas has certainly had an interesting history and the places he's lived unquestionably define his sound. From his early beginnings in San Francisco organising parties and DJing, he relocated to Detroit where, hanging out with the likes of Underground Resistance's Mad Mike and the late James Stinson of Drexciya, he began to release his own work.

The competition in Detroit was fierce and the crowds were very particular so artists found themselves having to work a lot harder, which ultimately led to the consistent quality of the product at that time. His story then led him to Europe, after Autechre invited him to appear as their opening act during their Confield tour in 2002 and then at their curated All Tomorrow's Parties in 2003, where he finally settled in Berlin.

This time we're presenting the less familiar work of his moniker 'Rook Vallade' with a collection of his as yet unheard works from 1992-2000 - a very welcome addition to the Touchin' Bass catalogue.

The 12 tracks featured on 'Vestiges' represent Douglas' Detroit influences and early electro, techno and hiphop are all evident in these recordings. Each individual groove represents a warm and moving sound aesthetic, rich in texture and melody, providing an insight into the varying depths of machine and soul. Each track portrays a mood and feeling of its own, with the emphasis being firmly placed on the outcome and direction of each individual sound, reflecting a barrage of alternative feelings, thoughts and moods. The tracks are also documentative of Douglas' first productions working predominantly with a hardware set up.
From the clear electro influence heard on 'Aemldbr', 'Badlstmp' brings captivating warm synths with fine metallic sounds surfacing above the layers, giving this track the feeling that it is much more current than the production date suggests. The blend of wavering strings, industrial ambience and chilling synthesiser pads demonstrated in the hauntingly dramatic short piece of 'Scrintv' leads to the punctuated percussion of 'RI_25' and the heightened tension, chaos and confusion of 'RV7ScF'. 'Endtb_' is like going into the unknown, a bit like how Jacques Cousteau must have felt when first filming underwater.

Frustratingly, Douglas never seems to have gotten the recognition that he so richly deserves. His experimental attitude has always put him ahead of his time and this album still firmly places him at the forefront of electronic music. These are timeless relics from the past, coming from an era where the concept of atmospherics very much dominated the production. There may have been less to work with but Douglas has somehow captured more. Under 'Rook Vallade', his music stands the test of time.

As The Wire once wrote of him: 'His music is one of the most striking evacuations of the life of the mind that you're ever likely to hear. This still stands true to date.

New York by way of Miami, Nick Klein has strung together an impressive discography over the last couple years releasing music for Alter, Ascetic House, and Bank among others, while at the same time handling his own Primitive Languages imprint bringing to life music by a wide range of cellar dwelling freaks. Some time in the making, we now see Klein with his debut on L.I.E.S. displaying, over four tracks, a wide range of production styles, each effective in their own right. From side-chained jack to peak red drum work outs to computer based minimalist bit destruction this ep proves to be a crushing statement from an artist coming into his own.

Boys Noize about Midnight: 'I've had the vocal for a long time and I played with it in my DJ-sets but I never found the right angle to make this an actual song. My first attempt was this industrialbreak sort of idea but I kicked it away and tried many other versions. I thought I can do something like - XTC' but it just didn't work out. So, I decided to re-visit my very first idea and YES it became my favorite version. This process is a good example of trusting your initial feelings and intuition.'

/DL/MS/ is the new project of Dan Lodig and Martin Sovinz, who have joined forces for a three-track debut of jacking analogue techno that brings both artists' fortes to the table. Dan Lodig contributes the rhythmics and staggering arpeggios. Martin Sovinz complements this with the eerie keys and masterful effect use that show off his impressive skills of putting his analogue gear park to work. Far from being a one-off project, /DL/MS/ have been working on their music over the past months, and further releases on Pomelo, TRUST, and more are on the horizon.

For their second collaboration on Odio, Arcanoid and Diffuse Arc continue to define their dreamy Electro signature sound with five cuts oscillating between ambient and downtempo.

The inaugural release on Mutual Friend Recordings is a collaboration between dc Sux and label owners Our Mutual Friend.

dc Sux is a producer that caught the ear of Radiohead collaborator Nigel Godrich (Atoms For Peace, Ultraista) in 2012, remixing Ultraista's 'Bad Insect' which was mastered by Godrich himself and included on the remix package of the groups debut album. Here his track 'Tulip' is an ethereal trip anchored by a warm bottom-end.

Our Mutual Friend have been DJ'ing together for a number of years, getting together recently to combine their production talents. Their remix of dc Sux 'Tulip' is the result of several live jams with the parts and their 909 drum machine, upping the pace and reinventing it for the dance floor.

'Body of Water' from Our Mutual Friend is as lush as it hypnotic, dc Sux remix of the track takes it techno. Mastering is courtesy of Dubplates & Mastering, Berlin and the run is limited to 200 records.

Well, what about Tuesday Israeli hybrid house and techno masters Juju & Jordash return to Dekmantel Records with yet another outstanding release. Their relentless work ethos makes you wonder if these guys sleep at all. Maybe that's what Tuesdays are for DKMNTL 043 is a three-tracker and a fine display of Gal Aner's and Jordan Czamanski's next-level, improv based way of painting records. 'Monday Mellow' is a dubbed out, twisted and subtly emerging house groover, while 'Wednesday Something' continues the journey with a dense electronic jazz-tinged stomper. 'Thursday, Heavy.' demonstrates their full range, combining eerie melodic synth excursions with a jagged bassline - an out of this world, destructive yet classy house bomb. As always their intergalactic excursions are superbly executed. Let's give them some rest on those Tuesdays.

At a time when the weekly flow of new albums, EPs and mixtapes come to exceed the number of e-mails that pile up in our inbox, the dazzle in Lokom's new double single is like the long anticipated rainfall season in a tropical country: nothing protrudes yet everything is present.
Totally melodic and surprisingly quiet despite its fabulous rhythmic complexity, Good News From Mars soothes like a perfect conversation in a sea of things left unsaid. At the same time dry, blazing and melancholic, Blurred Vision recalls the Brooklyn duo Team Shadetek in their early 2000 years, when the two were still hesitating between ambient warpish glitch and grime jolts. When combined, both tracks offer a vision inspired by the union in 2014 of electronica and experimental dance : an infinity of possibilities where hope still exists. Included Download card Inside

Following his recent outing as one half of Dot Product and a number of well-received EPs on Luke Slater's Mote Evolver label, Chris Jarman returns in his Kamikaze Space Programme guise for a new EP on Osiris Music uk. Opener Clickersintroduces a loop that permeates the entire track — an exercise in meditative repetition,KSP-style — followed by the sci-fi bleeps and sub-bass thuds of Pax. On the other side, Thalamic Transplant heads straight for the floor with more repetition: this time the alarm-like glitches ofw a malfunctioning spaceship. The EP closes with a version of'Clickers' reworked by label boss Mønic, complete with half-time cavernous kicks and cosmos-sized reverbs.

Where To Now Records are proud to present the debut 12' from Dublin based Melly. On 'Flying Ducks' Melly gives us four varied cuts that showcase his unique and unrestricted style of body music beautifully.

On 'Skip Fire' Melly takes sinister raves sounds and fires them across a core of ever intensifying percussion. The drums, with their apparent simplicity and almost swaggering or brutishly insistent presence, become a powerful statement. When placed amid elements more readily associated with techno / hardcore we are invited to enjoy a, perhaps, more rudimentary sounding form of rhythmic embellishment, but one that becomes just as deep, complex and intrinsic to the composition's power. The roaring percussion morphs into a sustained and highly pressured pulse ... The sirens sound, bodies assemble, the firing range begins, melee ensues.

The title track 'Flying Ducks' comes across like a reflection on an attempted aura of organisation and calm amid a scene of chaos. Much like the assumed title association of the duck presumably struggling in flight, v-shaped and temporarily structured, battling against the tumultuousness force of nature... perhaps. The beat threading it's way through the track guides us through a seemingly spontaneous and ever present soundscape that calls to mind the crepuscular canopy of an imagined digital rainforest with all its strange interjections and growing chorus of unique voices. Throughout this track, and the whole record infact, Melly's sound takes on an almost Post-Punk/Minimal wave edge that also completely embraces the level of experimentation and universal musical influence associated with that era.

On hand to assist in remixing 'Skip Fire' into a ferocious dancefloor destroyer is friend and fellow Dubliner Lumigraph (Mister Saturday Night, Opal Tapes, Major Problems), moulding the roaring percussion into a complete blaze of fury, demolishing everything it touches whilst still holding close a deep low end groove. A woozy synth line eases the pressure at times, but after every break the fire returns with further intensity and rage.

Melly rounds things off with 'Windproof'. The strutting pulse returns but this time concerns are certainly centred more on experiments in bass and timbre rather than an all out exploratory descent into controlled chaos. Coming across like a lost On-U-Sound cut, 'Windproof' allows itself the space to explore dubbed out ghostly sonars, radiophonic transmissions, and haunted rewinds.

EMEX is the emergent techno act of George Apergis and Alex Retsis, powered by KORG Synthesizers. Inspired by mathematics and digital electronics, already supported by Marcel Dettmann, Truncate, Drumcell, Jonas Kopp, Bas Mooy, Pfirter, Lag and many others. Their debut EP is a conceptual fusion of dancefloor techno with atmospheric overtones, first track 00110001 is a minimal opener with pounding chords and Detroit style influences, second track 00110010 progresses into darker territories while the fundamental grooves become infused with moody flavors and third track 00110011 transpires from harder realms, concluding the release with its almost acidic basslines and trippy arpeggios.

Herva, of Delsin, Kontra, MOS and All City fame, offers another set of forward-thinking dancefloor bombs. Across four tracks this young Italian demonstrates his unique interpretation of the past and the future again and again.

Herva is the artist name of Herve Atsè Corti. He was born in 1991, and has been surrounded by music from the beginning thanks to his family. He made a reputation for himself early on at high school as a talented drummer, but, intrigued by electronic music he decided to start making his own beats with a laptop. A few years later Bosconi Records released his early productions, both as Herva both and as Life's Track (a side project with Dukwa). He is also part of Tru West, a collective he founded with Mass Prod, Rufus and Raffaele Amenta.

As with his recent trip as Africans With Mainframes and dedicated to that Gherkin Life, we can hear bustling, latinate breakbeats slipping into the mix with his ruff yet piquant banger The Papyrus of Ani, whereas The Hall of Two Truths is anchored in his signature distorted kicks whilst the man flies around the higher registers with glassy, avian motifs and deep house piano chords.

Italy-born, Dublin-based producer Leopoldo Rosa aka Lerosa returns with his second EP in 2016. and continues a string of excellent releases for Croatian label Barba. Lerosa, as the newest addition to the label's roster, fits perfectly alongside the likes of LD Nero, Alex Cortex, Heinrich Dressel, DJ Stingray, FBK, Gosub, Perseus Traxx and Marco Bernardi. EP titled "Your Soul" comes as the 9th release of Barba, and is very much in the area of previous ones - heady, mental and diverse. As is expected from a producer releasing on such a broad spectrum of labels (Uzuri, Lunar Disco, Further Records, Ostgut Ton, Ferox, Apartment Records, Quintessentials, A Touch of Class, D1, Enclave, Real Soon, ...) Lerosa effortlessly manoeuvres between genres on this 4-tracker, while at the same time keeping the overall sound and vibe consistent. 303-reminiscent synth serves as an underlying leitmotif which appears in every track, but in a different manner. Blood is an obvious A1, direct and trippy techno with a misty mood. With Duelist Lerosa wears his electro suit, while maintaining the atmosphere sketched out by the first track. Ghost sits right in between the first two, with its 1/2 tempo serving justice to the track's feeling of neither resting nor moving. B2, Your Soul, is a house track with an elegant Lerosa twist on the classic Chicago vibe.

On A Business Trip To London is an album of curious electronics and sissy dance conceived under the shadow of Big Ben by Vivid Extreme. Initial research carried out at Ibis City Hotel, London; purple nail polish applied in Berlin and New York City. The result is the perfect and perhaps overdue meeting of emasculated P.E, limp-wristed ornamental industrial, sickly minimal synth and cheap suntanned trollop techno. What's more, its tinny rhythmic ringtone cycles of humiliation and debasement evince an unlikely humanity: there is yearning behind the red ballgag and loud make-up cake; Duck's piggy eyes betray an implacable melancholy. Indeed, despite the sexually explicit nature of its content, On A Business Trip To London is a highly accessible and often disarmingly pretty work which will appeal to the belissima ballerina in all working men. Required listening for all who admire those qualities most fascinating in a woman: allure, magnetism, power and dominance. He's not what you'd call a prolific producer but the old saying of 'quality over quantity' couldn't ring truer for Marcellis. With just 3 releases in the last 12 years starting with a single on 2004, followed by an EP on Workshop and then his album on Millions Of Moments, any new work is highly anticipated.

JUNK is inspired by Vik Muniz's ground-breaking documentary Waste Land, which tells the story of the landfill site, Jardim Gramacho, on the outskirts of Rio De Janeiro. Recycling fragments of German electronica, disco and 80's synth from his childhood and fusing these with new, found sounds, Lywood takes us on a journey through his world of JUNK re-imagined.
Five of the tracks are named after some of the largest landfill sites around the world, and Trash Vortex is named after the swirling mass of plastic waste the size of Texas, in the North Pacific. After showcasing the debut releases from The High On Wye Quintet (Magic Mountain High, Soulphiction and Steevio) and Monoak, the Freerotation label returns with a various artists 12' featuring four more artists intrinsically linked by the annual festival. Anthony Child, aka Surgeon, has been a regular fixture since first appearing at Freerotation in 2011. His recent exploration of modular synthesis and use of the Buchla Music Easel has found a home in the ambient yurt at the festival, and equally has manifested in album projects such as 2015's Electronic Recordings From Maui Jungle Vol 1. Unconscious Fearless Determination' follows on from this more experimental, less dancefloor-focused side to Child's work, while still pulsing with the techno fundamentals that quickly defined him back in the mid '90s. Duckett hails from North Wales, and has been a key part of the Freerotation fabric since the beginning of the event. After some releases on Mindtours, MindYourHead and Sthlmaudio back in the mid-'00s, his music has started to reach a new audience through releases on UntilMyHeartStops and a clutch of lauded live performances. Breaks My Heart When I Remember That Day' captures the alien synthesis and emotional heft that singles Duckett out as such a remarkable artist. Steevio is the co-founder of Freerotation and Mindtours Records, responsible for a huge swathe of techno releases reaching back to the '90s. As well as his releases on Mindtours, he has recently appeared on UntilMyHeartStops and in collaboration with Pev on Schmorgabsord, and is set to appear on Russ Gabriel's new label Rivers Of Groove. With its expressive swells of off-kilter melody and snaking drum lines, Pendulum' continues the thread of exploration Steevio has been following on his journey into experimental modular techno. Tom Ellis has been prolifically issuing forth material in a soul-enriched space in between house, techno and funk for more than ten years. From running the acclaimed Trimsound label to releasing albums and singles on Telegraph, Archipel, Hartchef Discos and more recently Ethereal Sound to name but a few, Tom's recorded work and immersive live performances continue to reach out to new moods and timbres. As A Take' finds Tom at his most reflective, layering on dubby effects and organic instrumentation in a truly meditative end to the EP.

Other than thousands of hardened workers elbow to elbow, pounding sheets of metal, we're in a dead zone - an imaginary sphere extending miles in every direction, devoid of life. Volume and vibration drove away all that could sense it, with the remainder of the food chain following.

In municipal work yards thousands of men and women (panel beaters in this case) are pegged out in a grid, each allocated a 120cm square. Amenities amount to uncovered channels from each work station, feeding into larger channels which facilitate the exodus of waste, like an irrigation system in reverse. However a lone figures' tributary remains unblemished. Yard Elders claim he hasn't relinquished solid nor liquid, neither eaten, slept, or spake a single word since his presence permeated sector eight. Preposterous this claim undoubtedly is, it was only talk of his strike rate climbing to nine hits per second that pushed the Elders' credibility beyond repair.

At work in his booth, this man's worn, nub-like hammers thrash away as though their true destiny lay a foot beneath the steel. It is his rhythm alone that welcomes the dawn, and continues on to exceed the standard work-day by God knows how long. The question being: what fuel then does this man-machine require to punctuate time's passing so relentlessly

Somewhere in the sprawl an inaction sparks a pause. Metal workers exponentially drop out of the industrial orchestra, stillness rippling outwards til the whole yard rests agape. The figure everybody now beholds bears aloft a mighty hammer that with the inevitability of death, comes arcing down while impoverished lungs screech into the air "CHANCELLOR!!!"

Having opened Feel My Bicep up for the first time with their previous 12' from New Zealand duo Sandboards, Bicep now welcome another new signing into the fold in the form of Brassica.
In an extension of a bond established on a Civil Music record released back in May of 2016 which saw Bicep remix 'Tears I Can't Afford' - Brassica presents his 'Time Tunnel' EP, a rich and varied 4-track record spanning Acid, Breaks and balmy House Music.
Also included in the package is an edit from The Sphinx and a remix from 'mysterious hardware fiend' Roy of the Ravers who follows up 12's on Acid Waxa and The Centrifuge with a tough, tumbling take on the title track that caps off another solid addition to the Irish dou's evolving imprint.

We warmly welcome back Kettel who makes his return to Clone/DUB records since his debut Cenny Crush 15 years ago (which was followed by the brilliant Whisper Me Wishes in 2007). After a hiatus of 3 years since his last release Kettel is releasing his new album on Clone Records. The talented musician has been busy with producing music for computer games and commercials, but is now offering a fine selection of pieces he has made in the last couple years with this full length in mind. The result is a playful, inspiring, eclectic, delicate, melodic, well-balanced and brilliantly produced album fuzzing elements of electronica, classical music, jazz and techno stirred into flawless, memorable compositions. As a 90's kid Kettel has always been inspired by the early electronica pioneers (whose names don't even need to be mentioned... everyone knows who we're talking about right), and on this album too you can hear some of the aesthetics of those late 90's productions, but adopted into Kettel's unique world of confident rhythms and melodies filled with expression. The music on this record has a lyrical quality to it and is so expertly written that it does not strictly depend on it's electronical environment: these compositions would still stand firm performed on whatever combination of instruments. Another lovely and magical release by Kettel thats spreading good vibes from the first to the last second!

* "7 Rooms" is an album that was born in the rooms of an house accompanied only by the moonlight and the union of spirit, mind and heart, which give rise to a succession of compositions by jazz nuances, neo-melodic and electro-acoustic. All this is part of an intent that little strives to bring the listener in scattered places of imagination, giving freedom of movement within their musical journey. "Hanged" electro-acoustic song by low and soft lines are linked with the mystical sound of drum, played strictly by hand. "Detonica" is a piece where rhythm of past ages are transformed into a sinuous ballad, punctuated by the crescendo of a plot that thickens as it scrolls with the inclusion of classical and electronic instruments. The fullness of this passage is immediate transportation. "Confidential Love" A song by the fresh air like a late spring afternoon, which mixes acoustic and electronic instruments for a nice chemistry between melody and absence of rhythm.

* "WoolCover", the embrace of a love of neighbor, love love, narrow; the love that you have next, love you breathe, love unfiltered, the love that homogeneous thoughts and feelings of the listener. (Voice by Anna Fabri). In "Malinchonica" sounds and melodies are more gloomy structured. "Light Pipe", a leap in a purely electronic piece with broken rhythms but softened by melodies. "Velocity" sounds scratchy, high-speed, characterized by the Drum 'n' Bass sound. A project created by the "observation" of the schizophrenic society.

DJ/Producer/Professor/Gardener... Den Hague's Overdose is the absolute shit, in our books. This is another must have record from a key figure in the West Coast's (of Holland that is) underground scene. And we didn't even mention Murder Capitol yet... DON.
DJ Overdose made his way to NYC for a long trip somewhere along 2003 or 2004. I had already been collecting his records he did with Ingmar Pauli under the Novamen moniker for some time and his solo work on Murder Capital. With delusions of granduer after hanging with Overdose through his stay in NYC I had asked him to do a record for a quickly failing hip hop imprint I was involved with. He complied, but the record was never meant to be at this time as the label went by the wayside. Eventually in 2006 we got in a van and toured the States, further solidifying an unholy union and a taste for TGIF Friday's. Fast forward to 2015 and we finally got our shit together and present the first DJ Overdose record for L.I.E.S. Overdose has already smashed this year with his Master Control release on Viewlexx and picks up right where he left off with these four tracks. Moody, dramatic, filled with basslines and insane drum programming, this record is meant to be played loud on the dancefloor. Check the curveball title track Hero's Gone Mental for maximum heads down in the cut vibes.

Franck Collin, aka Fleck E.S.C, is an Electro artist originally from France but currently living in Tokyo. Franck's earlier experience playing bass and drums in bands and his love of horror, science fiction and B-movies, naturally drove him to the Electro scene. With additional influences rooted in New Wave, Contemporary, Techno and Ambient, Fleck E.S.C tries to avoid the clichés of Electro, leaning more toward the spooky side of horror and sci-fi and the cheap retro sounds in tribute of the movies he loves. Never too serious or pretentious and always striving for fresh sounds, Fleck E.S.C's music aims to distract the body and the brain.

His 'Nice Guy EP' comprises two killer new tracks that emphasize this sound, the dappled 'What R We Waiting 4' and the ominous tones of 'Nice Guy'. Remixes of the latter come from London Modular's Pip Williams with a sweeping rendition, alongside the mighty Carl Finlow who also adds his magic touch...

Privacy has released well-received records with labels like Lobster Theremin and Klasse Wrecks. Now he thinks it's a good idea to enlist with the ranks of determined weirdos over at Valcrond Video. Why The Valcrond offices are replete with alluring snacks. Cornucopia-level amounts of treats, both sweet and salty. Mr. Privacy would hang around all day eating stuff and listening to Siamese Dream with Luke until the office manager who keeps things in line was forced to ask them both to leave. A deal was struck: In exchange for a continued flow of free snacks and treats, Privacy agreed to provide these 4 tracks. In the same way Privacy is unable to resist a warm chocolate croissant, no one who plays records in public for a living will be able to resist these audio delights.

My Favorite Robot very much prizes quality over quantity, and so it is that they offer up their carefully chosen autumn vinyl release, namely another landmark EP from key label artist Eric Volta. Fleshing out his killer originals are remixes from Swiss star Deetron and Volta as Voltaeric.
Volta is a synth whizz who crafts cinematic, epic, emotive music for this label as well as No.19 Music. He has emerged as a real star in the last year or so and is able to marry dance floor clout with a truly cerebral sense of musical storytelling.
It's that kind of musical narrative that he offers up here to great effect with an EP which starts off with a scene-setting recording of some frightened breathing and a torturous synth line that grows unbearably loud then dissolves to a post apocalyptic hum. It's unsettling but really gets your attention before 'Until I Dissolve' drops, an absorbing brew of searching sci-fi synths, wood block hits and thick melodic gurgles. A spoken word vocal muses up top and the result is a truly dark and futuristic groove.
'Heartbeat II: Cry' is two minutes of excellently evocative sound design, pained synth lines and cosmic energy that really makes this EP feel like a story, then we have 'Deliquesce', a Vangelis like prog track rich with reflective chords and rippling melodies that really tugs at the heartstrings.
Deetron- a real house and techno specialist who has proven himself in both EP and LP format over the years- remixes this one into a more slow burning but all consuming main room track with bold drones and glassy melodies. He also offers up a beatless dub that is equally engaging as it grows ever more manic. Finally Volta remixes his own 'Until I Dissolve' into a whacked out,
synth laden techno cut that is brilliantly dark and weird. Few EPs feel like as fully realised a sound world as this. Even more impressive is that Volta never loses sight of a dance floor groove whilst telling his compelling synth based stories.

Lost spaceship Lok44 returns to its home planet, and it has been mightily upgraded with alien bass technology since dropping 'Ghetto of the Mind' and 'Derailed' on TRUST over 10 years ago. 'Bous' is a vigorous comeback, touching on lean and mean electro funk, broken house, and hypnotic outer-orbit bleeps across its four tracks. Lucky owners of 'Bous's two highly sought-after precursors will recognise common stylistic threads spanning the decades, but just as before, Lok44 prefers to veer off on tangents, sketchily exploring unknown bass music quadrants. Second release in the 'Covert Systems' series, limited quantity.

Bjarki is from Iceland. Born and raised. Despite the fact that Bjarki is known for making extremely powerful dancefloor tracks he doesn't seem to belong to any particular genre. Something this triptych of LPs demonstrate very well. His music is at times cinematic and there's a story behind each track. Bjarki's music always has something to do with him personally, but he'd rather the listener lose themselves in the music than pay much attention to the man behind them. Either on a record or to one of his ever evolving live sets.
Lefhanded Fuqs Æ will be released over the coming months and represent a snapshot of his archive, selected by Nina Kraviz for Trip. The tracks were produced months ago, years ago, or in the case of the last track just a couple of weeks ago. What began with 30 tracks is now 41. The three LPs aren't albums in the traditional sense - the concept being to release the contents of his burgeoning hard drives. The music might together like an album, but Bjarki doesn't see it that way. It's essentially an archive that sounds like an album but none of the music was made with this in mind.
' (TRP007 17th June) - consisting of more ravey, sample-based music, mostly tracks that Bjarki never had any intention of releasing. But since Nina has been playing many of them in her sets, releasing them has been given new meaning. In the rave culture of the 90s, that's proved a strong influence on many of these tracks, what matters was actually being there'. There was no immediate or alternate technological way to experience it otherwise. "" B' letter in cyrillic. It's a word play. A missive for being" in the moment, being present, being aware... B is for Bjarki.

French label Zone Records deals in rugged electonic sounds and now offers up a brilliant new EP from a dance legend in the form of Neil Landstrum. He offers four cuts of typical excellent club beats that are full of wonderful weirdness.

Landstrum has been churning out essential sounds since the mid nineties on labels like Peacefrog, Tresor, Planet Mu and Rawax. He has a chaotic and energetic sound that make him a cult favourite who takes his cues from many different areas. Despite 20 years plus in the game, he is still as fresh as ever on this latest outing.

The arresting 'A Girl Is A Gun' is a fat and bouncing tune with bobbling bass, dial tone like melodies rising up though the mix and steamy female coos. It's raucous and in your face and is sure to set floors alight. Fun and freaky cut 'Silent Forces' marries nagging and serrated synths with quickened drums. It is frosty and oversized, raved up and impossible to ignore with its crisp sound design and busy arrangement.

The seductive 'Night Comforts' is more subdued than the rest, with a well swung dubgroove cut up by modulate synths and fat basslines as well as trippy sci fi sounds and robot vocals. Lastly, the brilliantly bonkers 'Live Slow Die Anyways' is a drug addled and super frazzled rack of razor edged loops, blurting bass and synthetic lines that re-wires your brain as you stomp to the beat.

Pure club music with one foot in the rave, this EP is as singular as anything Landstrum has turned out and is a sure fire winner as a result.

The next chapter in the Creme Organization Ecplise series comes from Cosmic Garden with three original tracks and one remix from Orgue Electronique. Little is known about Cosmic Garden other than he is from Southern Italy and has had two EPs out in 2016, one on HotMix and one on Cosmic Rhythm. He heads out the blocks here with 'Reptilian Treant', six minutes of lo-fi deep house that is roomy and atmospheric. Lazy synths bring soul and a gentle chatter of claps and hits helps drive it along. 'Rare Centaur' is also way below the surface but is darker and more celestial, with turbulent bass, frantic claps and angelic chords glowing like a white light at the end of a tunnel. Dutch house and electro don Orgue Electronique then remixes 'Reptilian Treant' into something that is slick and serene, with metallic lines dancing above rubbery drums as big piano chords boucle up top. It is joyous and colourful and truly majestic before final track 'Apocalyptic Moose' takes us back down into a mournful house vibe that echoes Chicago with its roughhewn analogue textures and lovestruck chords.

Caves was created in the aftermath of a devastating set by DJ Stingray, and sounds like it: storming but funky, infused with the spirit of classic Detroit techno. Spacetown marries Arpanet and John Carpenter, with a saturnine melody which sticks in the mind.
Flip it for a deadly Caves remix by man-of-the-year Convextion, inimitably sci-fi but banging, and the elemental, ambient accomplishment of The Strips, consolidating the promise on show throughout.

Shipwrec is turning back the clock and paying deserved respect to a giant in dutch acid. Active in the 90s, Random XS delivered high octane, 303 drenched, techno on the trailblazing Djax-Up-Beats like few others could. "Errant" and "Truant" have been reclaimed from '97, the first seeing them team up with fellow djaxer Binaural with the latter being a collaboration with Lost Trax (of Tabernacle fame.) The emblematic TB303 is at the heart of the EP. Acid lines melt and reform behind distant bleeps for "Errant". Lush chords ebb behind scuttling hi-hats in a deep journey of subaquatic electronics. "Truant" keeps that bubbling energy, teetering on the boundary between techno and ambient the track leads the listener deeper and deeper into a sonic labyrinth. An historic EP of texture and thump.

Velocette aka Jason Williams is a much overlooked producer from the US of A...

Velocette is the nom de record of San Francisco-based ambient techno experimentalist Jason Williams. A member of noted techno producer Jonah Sharp's Reflective Records stable, Williams has released the bulk of his work through the label, including the full-length Sonorities by Starlight and a trio of singles. Wedding minimal, usually electro-derived beats with sparse, atmospheric electronics, Williams' work is as close in feel to '70s space music impressarios like Klaus Schulze and Edgar Froese as to contemporary innovators such as Sharp's Spacetime Continuum, Autechre, MLO, and Move D. Originally a cellist, Williams sold his first instrument to buy a sequencer after being introduced to electronic music through friends. His first EP, "Microcosmik," came out on Reflective in 1994, and was later featured on the celebrated Synoptics compilation. Following live performances at the German Love Parade, as well as at events in San Francisco and Los Angeles, Williams released the Clockwork EP before joining the album-length ranks with Sonorities by Starlight, which critics compared favorably with the likes of B12, Deep Space Network, and Atom Heart. Williams' work was also featured on the Headtravel CD-Plus released by Om Records -- Sean Cooper

Burgeoning club label Nervous Horizon follow up label boss TSVI's recent 'Sacred Drums' EP with a new EP from Houndstooth, AUS and R&S signee, Second Storey.

'Spin Cycle', comprised of three tracks written in the same warehouse space Storey shared with TSVI and fellow NH boss, Wallwork, earlier this year, details a micro-world of new ideas that Storey manifests within a sprawling, hyper-specific web of weird and wonderful bass abstraction. It's not often you go to a viewing and your potential house-mate actively wants you to make noise with no restrictions', he says reflecting on first meeting TSVI while looking for a new place to live in London.

Energised by this new sense of creative freedom and boosted by a support network pro-vided by the extended NH crew ( Gugli (TSVI) and Tommy (Wallwork) were buzzing off these tracks when I played them'), Storey is at the top of his game across the EP.

From the fuzzy, looping programming on the title-track, written as if in a 'spin cycle', to the swinging, crunchy pressure on 'Critters' and the muffled, industrial-tech tones to 'Sludge 3D', 'Spin Cycle' plays right into the NH ethos — making music that sounds like nothing you've heard before.

With Code Is Law 003, label head Moerbeck plays with this artistic device with great success: 'Movies For The Blind' takes direct aim at our imagination without allowing its intent to shine through to the surface. XVII from Leipzig's Institut für Zukunft begins by laying an unshakable foundation for this short story with his eponymous ambient production. Delta X, Moerbeck and Eomac are telling the rest of this mysterious story with a Four-to-the-Floor-Beat.

Boris Bunnik needs little introduction, a prolific producer who uses an array of monikers to release his many personalities. He has released on many labels including Delsin, Clone, M.O.S and Pinkman to name a few. For Polychange Bunnik finds the balance between abstract, ethereal and jacking across all 4 tracks to create the sound of his unique take on electro.

Throughout Ground and Figure abstraction and rhythm weave amongst each other in such a sly manner that the resulting tension in the conflicting elements presents the listener with a hypothetical high-tech elastic percussive grid. A thudding, pulsating, shapeshifting ambient beast is summoned by these two creators working as one.

This is machine music. This is hypnotic disorientation. This is an immense ambitious and refined world of sound and rhythm. This is the work of two producers who continuously try to top up their skills.

Najem Sworb brings us the thirty-fifth edition of Wolfskuil Records adding the Strasbourg-based artist to it's roster. Previously releasing on labels such as Clone Basement Series, Technorama, Metis Recordings and the now defunct Ai Records, Najem Sworb has been transforming through various genres of techno since his debut release in 2007.

Rad.Velc EP brings us 4 original tracks playing upon the themes of house and techno. 'K-159' opens the EP with a fierce relentless bass and squeaky pads ending in a harmonic disarray while 'K-166' follows in a smiliar suit rather with a dub inspired rhythms. On the flipside, Najem Sworb switches up the vibe with 'K-abL' which illustrates the artists more house influences with mystical synth lines. However, 'K-177' demonstrates his knack for techno, delivering an explosive device fit for the dance floor. Together in all four tracks Najem Sworb shows his expertise in unique synth work providing a quirky cadence to his beats.

One of the foundation artists on Samurai Horo, ASC is an essential part of the labels rebirth with the 'Geocentric Systems' EP. Taking the Grey Area sound into heavier, darker territory, 'Aphelion' and 'Perihelion' formed the core of this EP with their fervent BPM trickery. These tracks are Techno rebuilt with dizzying sensory loss, adding a weightless intensity that feels like a constant attack. 'Passel' and 'Geocentric Systems' offer a dubbed out version of the approach, heavy on the intricate sound design that has become the ASC trademark.

Ben Sims' Symbolism continues apace with a release from Binny, a Liverpool-based producer DJ otherwise known for some superb output as part of Phantom Planet Outlaws. Comprising three original tracks, the Subtractive Rhythm EP also takes in a remix from long-time Sims collaborator and British techno legend, Paul Mac.

Very limited repress of this excellent release* TCF (Aedrhlsomrs Lauecehrofn) is an ordered list of elements of finite possible plaintexts, finite possible cyphertexts, finite possible keys, and the encryption and decryption algorithms which correspond to each key. This 3x12" set is the first EOD vinyl release since 2013's Volume 1&2 EPs. A compilation drawing from the EODS series that was released digitally between 2015-16, these tracks were all recorded straight to cassette, aiming to capture the soul of the moment. Thule Records camp is hitting it hard these days. This time it's a collaboration between two pioneers within the Icelandic techno scene. On the A-side, we have Static, a hypnotic groove with indistinguishable voices and shimmering dub chords, and Útkall, minimalistic dub techno mantra. On the flipside we have the heavily-rhythmic Sedna, where the drums and bass compliment each other in such a way that it might cause involuntary muscle movements, and at last Timelaps, a delicate minimalistic voyage. Ohm is best known for his releases on Force Inc with Exos. Octal Industries, a veteran who has already gained a respectable reputation within the IDM community under his Ruxpin pseudonym, returns to his origins with this collaboration. Thule Records is considered by many to be a pioneer in the field of dub-influenced techno music and was a starting point for many of Iceland's most renowned electronic musicians.
