Following his hallucinogenic EPs'Dust' and 'Green Man' for R&S, Alex Smoke returns with his latest opus 'Love Over Will', perfectly crafted electronica, brimming with layers that mixes depth, euphoria and social commentary in equal measure. Love Over Will sees Menzies further exploring the melding of his voice with intricate electronics and discordant melody.

The title 'Love Over Will' is a play on "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. Love is the law, love under will", the central tenet of Thelema, created by famed occultist and ceremonial magician Aleister Crowley, with the central thread of the album being "a statement on the times we are living in, but with an optimism relating to ways forward that are possible".

Also Menzies's work has been informed by his ongoing installation work with artist Florence To, primarily on the links between sound and spirituality (ritual music, psychoacoustic effect).

The album's palette of otherworldly strings, distortion, clicks and synths acts as a bed for Menzies' voice, calling to mind the emotive fragility of Arthur Russell, at times confessional, others loudly declamatory - 'Love Over Will' is unquestionably Menzie's finest work to date.

Traveling the world on a regular basis and being featured on the same lineups as the worlds best, it didn't take the Irish DJ/Producer long to become one of the most talked about prospects in the scene.

Now being a regular fixture on all the top name playlists, Sneijder continues to go from strength to strength.

Recorded between 2012-2014, Jared Blum's (of GiganteSound, The Talking Book, Blanketship, Vulcanus 68, et al.) Vision Heat project is a laser guided, hyper vintage conflation of early to mid 80's centric production, montage and style. Recalling such luminaries as Tangerine Dream, John Carpenter, Harold Faltemeyer, Craig Safan and such lofty houses as KPM, Bruton and Parry with nods to oddballs from Russia and the Eastern Bloc, Blum still manages to be forcefully yet effortlessly unique. Inspired by countless soundtrack compilations and blog mixes of rare, foreign library and VHS music, Vision Heat varies in production style and technique as if it were the definitive archive - deftly genre skipping from moody sci-fi suspense, incidental queues and dramatic scores to uplifting electro-boogie, synthpop and cinematic arrangements. Ultimately so much more than an homage, The Chosen Themes are a subtle and skilled conjuring of a full spectrum re-imagined past.

Teenaged Nezha is the debut 12' from recondite duo Handsome Head, on Hound Scales' and Divvorce's Fifth Wall Records. The EP consists of two walloping 150 to 155 bpm originals, accompanied by two pulsating Henning Baer remixes and a cantankerous, machine-like version from Hound Scales.
Support includes Darko Esser, Perc, Sinden, Eomac, J. Tijn, Samuli Kemppi, Tom DiCicco, Tessela, and Truss.

Certain Creatures (born Oliver Chapoy) offers up Vipassana, his debut 2xLP album on Styles Upon Styles.

The album features eleven songs centered around the relationship between power electronics, techno and darkwave pop.

Oliver's resume extends from the early 90's when he was a pivotal player in Miami's hardcore scene by way of his band, Shai Hulud, before moving into post-rock territory (Saxon Shore) and electronic pop (Warm Ghost). Since departing from Warm Ghost, however, Oliver has focused on electronics in a solo environment: His first release as Certain Creatures dropped in 2013 as part of SUS's Bangers & Ash 12" series, w/ guest vocals from Stuart Argabright.

His collaboration with Stuart led to the most prominent credit in Oliver's production career: the opportunity to produce Black Rain's first album of new material since 1996. Dark Pool (Blackest Ever Black), heralded as Black Rain's comeback proper, provided the best scope of Oliver's production and compositional talent to date. With Vipassana, Oliver offers his first full-length solo excursion.

Paul Corley (Oneohtrix Point Never, Tim Hecker, Antony) mixed Vipassana,which features guest vocals from Bonnie Baxter (Shadowbox / Kill Alters) and Jon Philpot (Bear in Heaven) on "The Suffering Seas" and "In Safety of Cold Light," respectively.

Re-issue of A Thunder Orchestra's 'Shall I Do It', a haunting yet beautiful slice of hypnotic proto techno from the vaults of the rich eighties Belgian new beat / synth wave / EBM noir scene, originally recorded in 1985 and released on a handful of cassette tapes on Ladd-Frith records

Die Form is a French post-industrial and electronic band formed in 1977. The name 'Die Form' means '(the) form/shape' in German, like the Bauhaus diary and is a play on the English homonym 'deformed' and on the French homonym 'difforme' (deformed). Die Form is the primary project of electronic musician and multimedia artist Philippe Fichot. He began by recording a number of experimental cassette releases in the late 1970s and formed the Bain Total label to release these early cassettes and various side projects including Krylon Hertz, Mental Code, Camera Obscura, Eva-Johanna Reichstag, Hurt and Fine Automatic.

In 1982 Die Form released their debut vinyl album, 'Die Puppe' in a limited edition of 1,000 copies. These are the first esoteric electronic experiments, often improvised, from what would become the sound of the project. Underlying themes of eroticism, death and other 'taboo' subjects are apparent in both the music and the album artwork, which Philippe also produces. The album was recorded with entirely analog equipment (Roland MC4 Micro-Composer, TR-808 Rhythm Composer, ARP 2600, Kawai 60F, Revox B77). Songs range from hypnotic, minimalistic proto-IDM to pure, daring experimental sound manipulation. Unable to fit into any genre, 'Die Puppe' is in a class of music all its own.


All songs have been remastered from the original master tapes for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. The jacket is an exact replica of the original 1982 edition designed by Philippe Fichot, with a photograph of a porcelain doll holding a syringe. VOGUE was formed by American musician and multi-instrumentalist Aret Madilian, back then equipping himself with Moog and Roland synthesisers, plus a Boss DR-55 and a piano, and recording two of those ultimate dark minimal synth hits, "Sahara" and "Shattered Peace", think of Das Kabinette, Those Attractive Magnets, Inertia, Ceramic Hello, just to name a few. Aret added Julie Kubat (vocals and lyrics) and Teresa Kubat (vocals) to the line-up and self-released both tracks on their sole release, the "Sahara" 12" in 1983 (Aret Records, Ar 42266).

Championed by the likes of Seth Troxler, Guy Gerber and Tiga, the former Footprintz member turned solo star has set his musical sights on the incense-filled Multi Culti chill-out room.Following recent releases on Visionquest, Supplement Facts, Life & Death, and Turbo, Clarian continues a run of musically diverse, emotionally resonant songs with this three track EP. Ma Shiva stands out immediately in every way: it's a mid-tempo pop ballad that takes as its refrain one of the most popular Hindu mantras. It's a total one-off that has a certain familiarity to it without actually sounding quite like anything specific... except, oddly enough, maybe a dash of 80s-era Leonard Cohen in the phrasing of the verses. Open Your Eyes takes the tempo down even lower, into laid-back Talking Heads territory. Taking on such a wide range is an impressive feat, a show of great confidence from the young Montreal-based producer. It's no wonder he's been courted by some of the biggest names in the house scene as both a writer and producer. Rounding off these two languid anthems is Dystopia, a dragon-stick-juggling bazaar-ride of inner-exoticism. Progressive - even for progressive!In remix support are the always-awesome Invisible Conga People, long overdue to release more original music. Jamal Moss (aka I.B.M. - Insane Black Man) is a lost warrior of sonic truth. We first uncovered his music through his own Mathematics Records, where we were shocked to find a unique permutation of the Chicago Jack gene. We came to find out that Jamal was educated in the biz by Adonis and Steve Poindexter, and the last of the line of producers directly inspired by two pillars of influence: Ron Hardy at the Muzic Box and the club Medusa's. This makes him uniquely qualified to write a new chapter of Chicago's history.Digging through shoe boxes of cassettes, video tapes, and mini discs, we have collected the secret tapes of one Insane Black Man. This is an archive of the impetus of his genius, containing perhaps the holy grail of all Jamal Moss tunes 'The Land of Rape and Honey' and 'Tribal Retribution'. Artists on labels like LIES are still searching for these originals. We have taken them from their dusty and damaged condition and painfully & meticulously restored them, using the mastering labs of Neel's Enisslab Studio in Rome, and for the few that even he couldn't do, we had Carl at TruTone finish the restoration. Now we can present these fragile raw and pure visions with the greatest level of quality. Finally the full impact of these ideas can be felt.
Jamal describes his music as 'post industrial angst in an urban environment.' His first experience at the Muzic Box was standing outside the warehouse space on 326 Lower Michigan Ave just watching people come outside to catch air, fascinated by the energy he was experiencing. At a later location he was finally able to get in and describes the experience as 'overstimulating, I never saw anything like that, you could see the heat, it was like a sauna of raw sweat.' Later, he would spend much of his formative years at Medusa's experiencing the city's more alternative culture. Many people may find this surprising, going from the Muzic Box to Medusa's, from the roots of House Music (and Techno) to the home of the Industrial sound that perhaps Wax Trax best represents. But that kind of stereotypical thinking doesn't allow for the truth of what actually happens, people cross boundaries, experience other scenes and cultures, absorb them and add to them. No one should be prescribed a set of interests because of where they are from or what race they are born.
Jamal reminds me that Duane Buford, creator of the first record on Dance Mania and co-writer with Jesse Saunders and sometimes Vince Lawrence of such early house songs as 'Funk-U-Up' (Jes'say 1984) and Le' Noiz's horror house bad trip jam 'I'm Scared' (Trax 1985), was also a member of the Revolting Cocks and Ministry. Before Mathematics took off, Jamal was in talks with 4AD to make an industrial record for the label. These towers of influence collide easily in the mind of the Insane Black Man. Why must we call him insane That may be society's futile view, which would prefer to put everyone in easy boxes, whereas we would be more likely to call him a visionary.

Delta Funktionen starts his own label! What Another artist starting a label Yes!
After several years of dropping 12 inches on Ann Aimee, and the well received album 'Traces' on Delsin, he felt it was the right time to launch his own imprint: Radio Matrix.

What is it about
Radio Matrix will represent the sound of Friesland and the city of Leeuwarden.
The core of the label will be based around producers from the city of Leeuwarden (The Netherlands). So far, releases have been scheduled from VC-118A, Area Forty One and of course the man himself. Next to that, EP's are lined up from guys who haven't had a release yet, but who are fuelling the local scene of Friesland for more than a decade now. But as Radio Matrix is not strictly limited to the borders of Friesland, befriended and like-minded producers will contribute as well.
As dedicated record junkies, everything will of course be pressed on vinyl. However, digital files will be made available as well, so you don't need to visit dodgy torrent sites.

How does that sound like

BleeD follow up their inaugural release, by Volte-Face, which received plays and praise from the likes of DVS1, Pangaea, Luke Slater, Marcel Fengler, Blawan, Erol Alkan and Anthony Parasole. Rote is a debutant artist, formed by Volte-Face and Daniel Avery, best known for his LP 'Drone Logic', widely considered to be one of the breakthrough dance albums of the last decade. Rote is a project with no precise mission statement. The goal is to approach each studio session with a fresh impetus, to release club EPs with minimal fanfare and fuss.

Jacques Renault delivers two rare and fiery original tracks for his second release on esteemed US label Public Release, complete with remixes from Velvet Season & The Hearts Of Gold plus a Force Of Nature remix.

'Silver Machines' is Public Release's eighth pressing and Renault's second of 2015. The double single comes packaged in a deluxe jacket designed by highly acclaimed visual artist Takeshi Murata (recently featured in the New York Times). It blasts off with the schizophrenic, brain-melting groove of 'Silver Machines' that zips through its five minute runtime thanks to the fantastic union of precise, frenetic drums and a rolling funk bass riff. The flip finds Velvet Season & the Hearts of Gold (Gerry Rooney of Black Cock and Joel Martin of Quiet Village) slipping the original a tab of acid and getting weird.

On disc two, 'Fromage à Trois' is rooted in industrial percussion that sits below an elastic hook, giving the cold drums a human warmth. Japanese dons of disco Force of Nature take a swing and wrap the package on a high note. Their mix pulls the motorik drums back, to make way for a hypnotic loop that evokes thoughts of OSTs from 80s teen flicks, the sort of stuff Tangerine Dream excelled at for a good while. The song fades out and Mr. Renault's auspicious return to Public Release ends as abruptly as it began. Let's hope chapter three takes less than five years to be written.

o+ Jacques Renault has been riding the waves of underground credibility for the past few years, initially renowned for being the master of the edit and releasing music on internationally acclaimed labels DFA, Permanent Vacation, RVNG, and Rekids, he has since become a producer in his own right, using samples as more of an adornment or starting point than a centerpiece.

o+o Tim Sweeney kicked off the Public Release release schedule back in 2009. They have since focused on quality rather than quantity with only eight releases in six years including recent contributions from Woolfy and Mike Simonetti.

Having refined their tastes and gathered experience through promotion and radio shows their focus has since shifted to releasing records and in doing so, providing a platform for auspicious piers to bloom. In the wake of the success of that inaugural record from label owners Presence and Persona they ready their carefully crafted return with the second installment coming courtesy of 20 year-old mastermind Circula backed up by Endeguena Mulu of Ethiopian Records on his first ever remix.

The long awaited debut LP from Dark Sky is not entirely what you might expect from the London trio. After a string of club focused 12"s they delve deep to deliver a tender and uplifting offering entitled 'imagin.' To the sworn fan it may come as a surprise, but it will prove to be a pleasant one, as the evolution from the analogue metallic sounds that shaped their past discography naturally mature and slide into the sound palette of imagin.
Through heavy consumption of music from across the spectrum the trio's work has refined, and clearly echoes their heritage as kids of the 90's, referencing numerous influences the decade processed - the album bears traces of funk, post rock, a thick layer of trip hop, even balearic house, bossa nova, disco, 80ies pop and ambient. All of it heavily reverberated, stirred and shaken in Dark Sky's musical tumbler.
The outcome is captivating. Littered with sophisticated percussion, soft and subtle marimbas fused with sci-fi synths and tastefully delivered vocals throughout. Grey Reverend features on the lead single 'Silent Fall' to beautiful effect, with an outcome sitting somewhere between James Blake and Moderat. Elsewhere Cornelia (of Portico Quartet fame) delivers Elizabeth Fraser - like vocals on 'Nothing Chances,' 'Vivid' and 'Purple Clouds' providing a perfect soundtrack to the late summer.
Long standing Dark Sky fans will also be pleased to hear that there are more club orientated tracks on their too. 'Odyssey's' dark spacey arpeggios and growling bass line reminds us of their seminal electro-roller 'Confunktion,' but comes delivered complete with euphoric almost balearic stabs and straight stacked 4 x 4 hi-hats. 'Rainkist' is a soul laced dance floor ballade featuring vocals from an unlikely source in the form of d-Bridge with huge crossover potential, and 'Manuka' finally brings back the breakbeat with its percussive far-east vibes that evoke Truth Hurts & Rakim's 'Addictive,' which fittingly sums up this album.

Written by Mark Archer in 1991 and released as Altern-8, this is the second half of a double vinyl set featuring new modern remixes cut from the original samples.

The Hacker opens the EP with a rework channelling early Warp Records / Sheffield Techno at it's finest - Pure Energy. Rennie Foster brings the 303 to the forefront with an acid-heavy breakbeat house remix. KiNK takes the vibe deeper with his underwater techno groover, and Neil Landstrumm completes the set with a deep, bleepy hardware-led remix.

Hulks of heavy industry lay strewn around, primitive yet shot through with a cracked futurist vision. Red rusting mother loads could have lain there for years, a henge to post industrialism. Time to open the sluice gate and slide the fetid bulk into the bloated brine of the next high tide. Surfing out across the broth its bow breaks the water, sending a long lazy wave like treacle slapping the side of the wharf. Slaughter-phonic noises pulsate from within the lead encased carburettor. On the blistered deck great knotted balls of chain lie rusting for ever, atrophied by age and despair.

Nordic ice meets Spanish fire in the latest offering from Fine Grains Records collaboration series. 'Blåis' is a split EP featuring Norwegian skweee boss Beatbully and Barcelona-based machine funk don Fitzroy North. The release is complete with three distinct remixes by young Scottish grime producer Inkke, synthetic funk master Joe Howe (fka Ben Butler & Mousepad) and one of the finest contemporary beats producers this side of the Atlantic, Mwëslee. The artwork comes from Norwegian graphic artist Halvor Bodin. 'Blåis', one of over 100 Nordic words for snow and ice, occurs when snow falls on a glacier, is compressed, and becomes part of the glacier. Over the course of 8 tracks, Beatbully & Fitzroy North squeeze the maximum from their respective MPC & synth setups to deliver an unpretentious and fun mix of synthetic funk with a punch. Moments of minimality, sweet harmonies, bleeps, squeaks and bass are compressed into a gleaming crystallised form.

Filled with evil lurking storms of the most timeless kind, the journey starts with a bang as Driftwood crosses over the whole dance music spectrum, taking cues from funk, post punk, Manchester and Chicago house, certainly a challenging bridge building approach.Crane Dance follows a more sinister path with its witchy incantations carving a somewhat demonic take on house, a mesmerizing cascade of beats and eerie pads. Lastly, Line of Moments brings us some apparently more mellow grounds filled with melancholic strings soon to be revealed as deceivingly acidic chimeras.

Over the years, Jackson has built up an archive of over 150 unreleased tracks. for format he has carefully selected, re-edited and remastered tracks from various points through the last 15-year period to create a new body of work. touching on synth and beatbox workouts, proto-house, new wave, on italo and techno, on ambient and psychedelia, the tracks are, the same time, none of these things.
All editions are signed and numbered.

Paul Woolford's Special Request moniker was launched in March 2012 via a self-released white label 12'. A shrewd merging of UK house and pirate radio beamed jungle trends, the 12' showcased Woolford's blend of infectious, rave tunes could sit in all kinds of sets, from 120bpm techno to 170bpm drum & bass. To date there have been four Special Request transmissions; released only on vinyl, they've all since long sold out.

The project captures and distils the energy and unruly conventions of the UK's pirate radio stations, using that DIY/anything and everything goes approach as a springboard and an inspiration for a series of productions that amply blazed through chaotic, eye of the storm jungle tearouts as well as they did through hard and heavy, darkside techno.

'Wall To Wall' merges the jacking tradition of Chicago with the UK's love affair with sub-bass, whilst 'Broken Dreams' brings up to date the music post-rave period, when the ecstasy rush of rave began to fade into the more oppressive, drum-and-bass-driven hardcore that would give a whole genre its identity. Meanwhile, two of the most exciting names to recently break onto the electronic music scene, Anthony Naples and Lee Gamble, offer respectively dense and spacious interpretations of 'Mindwash' and 'Capsules'.

Nite-Glo is the new offering from Stellar OM Source, the outré-minded music venture of Christelle Gauldi. Tempering the freneticism unleashed on Stellar OM Source's 2013 album Joy One Mile, Nite-Glo guides Gauldi's rhythms to unexpected places of emotive and meditative power. The four tracks of Nite-Glo were written during a transient time for Gauldi. Loss and processing the associated emotions informed those moments in which Gualdi could escape to her mobile studio set up. Recorded solely with her live hardware, Nite-Glo tears down any ornamental tapestry to uncover a core of luminescent synths, glowing 303 lines, and a burning awareness. Nite-Glo continues an off-script musical journey informed by Gualdi's formal training in electro-acoustic composition at the Conservatoire de Paris and an ascent from the DIY synth scene of the mid-aughts to a global dancefloor. Rewarding listeners keen on conscious listening, the passages of Nite-Glo crystalize as tracks unfurl and sequences reveal an absolute power over time. Transcending its cathartic context, Nite-Glo finds Christelle Gauldi abstracting the ebullience of Stellar OM Source's sound in favor of remote spaces and roiling tempos. A snapshot of Gualdi's personal and creative transition, Nite-Glo beams through a mournful context, visible only as eyes have adjusted in the shadows.

Following on from the acerbic 'Sylvester Stallone / Smut' double A-side released earlier this year, the new single continues to blur the lines between contemporary club music, punk and forward-thinking computer acid. Describing the music is a challenging prospect... but dancing to it isn't.

Both as an artist in his own right and through the music released on his own label Diagonal, Oscar Powell has established himself among this decade's most singular, exciting artists. The music is tough, but always playful.

LTD ed. 12" release by new artist Cygnus. Cygnus hails from the southern US and upon listening to his music for the first time, one would think he is a distant relative of the late James Stinson of Drexciya. Cygnus' first release came by way of the digital label, ICASEA and has received praise in experimental/IDM circles. Two of the songs featured on the digital release are presented here on this limited release showcasing the expertly crafted sound design and Detroit inspired sounds of a young talent who will surely be one to watch for in the near future.

R&S Records release 'Gel' a new EP from Moire. Pulsating and hallucinogenic, it's tripped out dancefloor experimentation at its best. Lurid and raw, the music draws on the live and direct dubplate culture, that flush of excitement of finishing a track in an afternoon, pressing it up and taking it to the club. From the slo-mo bounce of 'STFN', to the edgy freneticism of 'Blind', hazy euphoric of 'Gel' to the grinding textures of 'Let Down' this is an EP that cements Moire's reputation for delivering exhilarating futurist club music.

Nebulo's first appearance on the Parisian imprint. A thoughtful, unsettling, and melodically entrancing concept piece that continues to set Nebulo apart in an abstract world of his own.

The 3rd edition of the Modeselektor curated "Modeselektion" series will be released as a 3 way vinyl pack. It comes with an LP and 2EPs that are filled to the brim with exciting exclusive material from the hyperactive duo's favourites and a few very special newcomers.

The second installment of the Modeselektions EPs has a slightly more four to the floor flavored temper and also comes down more heavy on the vocal side.

Monkeytown's own Alex Banks delivers the energetic technoid "Be the One" featuring dubbed out vocals by Elisabeth Bernholz, his Beth Gibbons-esque collaborator. French beat wizard Onra's "Blast" is slightly more Hip Hop flavoured and his fresh faced interpretation of a straight beat is the only instrumental on this E.P.

German house hero Henrik Schwarz adds a touch of pop to this record, his " We are bankrupt" is essentialy a song written to swing on the dancefloor and this might as well become the hymn of the financial crisis and this summer's festivals.

The last track on the EP features a special cooperation between Brandt Bauer Frick, Vic Mensa and Om´mas Keith. "Jungle Love" is a genre defying dark bender of a song that jams all over Hip Hop, Techno, Soul, Swing and Noise.

Polish resident Lutto Lento follows up his debut 12' for Charles Drakeford's 'FTD' label with this 6 track EP 'Whips' for 'Where To Now' Records.

Lutto's sound places him as quite a unique figure in modern electronic music, showing a fearless work ethic in shrouding his productions in saturated tape loops, and achieving what is certainly a low-fi quality to his sound, Lutto manages to never let this lo-fi edge take centre stage - instead this expertly crafted process of tape cutting and looping provides the backdrop to Lutto's exuberantly crafted yet absolutely dance floor orientated drum work.

'Marabut' & 'Vengo' pair similar 2 note drones with dissimilar intricate rhythmic backings. On 'Marabut' the church organ like chords quake over layers of metallic percussion hits, hissing hi hats and clattering cymbals whilst 'Vengo's drums have far more of a low swung swagger, where sweet string melodies with eerie atonal elements help draw you deep into the loops... when something rattles too-close to your ear and the aura of the track switches up to become a chilling experience.

'Whips' whirls us away from the spook of 'Vengo' into an ecstasy-induced autobahn fever dream, careering down a ps2 animated, neon delineated racetrack with the radio pelting soothingly lucid disembodied vocals that drift the vehicle of your consciousness from lane to lane. 'Whips' is perhaps the most visceral of productions here, where Lutto's use of the layered sounds of crashing cars create's a unique and twisted combination of both euphoria and destruction.
'Amarea' is the most febrile piece, operating on a more guttural and obvious dancefloor level, a downcast mutation of the same feeling that drives you to whip out Dance Mania records at 5am. A beat that draws you to the offbeat and keeps you poised amid barked vocals and booming kicks.

'Outro' perhaps serves to encompass all that Lutto is about, where frantic tape cuts simmer over a hazy world of cosmic Laraaji esque experiments and beat work, and a vocal sample that perhaps nods towards Lutto's use of found sound and manipulation to aid his musical vision, it laments 'I live on an island... it is usually very warm... sometimes we go on picnics...and eat fruits and vegetables from our garden...mmmm...mmmmm'

Ssaliva hails from the historic city of Liège in the Francophone, Walloon part of Belgium. Formerly, he has released music under the monikers Cupp Cave and François Boulanger on labels such as Leaving Records (Stones Throw) and Vlek. This album shifts between two poles. The track Guilt might be the prime answer of the first: simple, though intricately beautiful, chopped-off melodies chasing each other through different octaves. Vntitled is the clearest example of the other: soothing ambient synth phrases in an ever-slightly-changing repetition. How sweet it is to be acoustically disoriented. All this accounts for the album's surprisingly gripping sensitivity, its strong emotional cargo. From the gentle offbeat strokes of the first track to the haunting Who Then Now with its incessant screeching wobbling around, the listener is confronted with joy, solace and sadness. Structurally Be Me could sound like a succession of Indian raggas - albeit very short ones - with the first four tracks associated to the daytime (sunrise, noon, afternoon, late evening) and the remaining tracks with the nighttime (until the break of day). Dream Dive (track 4) is the first to introduce minor chords, classically linked to melancholy, while the electronic sea crashing onto the shore from tracks 2 and 3 is still there, but much calmer now, and ephemeral wind chimes play hide and seek in the ambient sky. After the volta, the next track, Staves, introduces a totally different pallette with the album's first bass sound, electronic water trickling down somewhere, and what sounds like metal works going on a yet much lower level than the basement you've just arrived at.

Following on from the last Zeta Reticula release (Umek's alter ego) the mighty 1605 Music Therapy are back with 5 Floor shaking electro techno & Break Beat inspired cuts, a main stay in the big man's set's for the last few months.......

Soul Jazz Records launches its new electronic music imprint Sounds of the Universe division with the first of two new albums by Hieroglyphic Being. 
Current Wire magazine front cover artist Hieroglyphic Being's debut album for the new label - The Acid Documents - is an album made up of tracks first released last year only ever available in a bespoke edition of 100 copies - in the form of a homemade CD-R - made exclusively for the Sounds of the Universe record store.
This album is now released officially as a one-off edition of 1000 copies on coloured double vinyl, CD and digital, fully remastered with artwork by Japanese artist 2Yang.
Hieroglyphic Being, aka Jamal Moss - who features on the front cover of Wire magazine's current issue - is a DJ/composer/sound artist who makes pioneering, experimental, boundary-pushing Afro-futurist electronic music. 
Born and based in Chicago, Moss's music embodies two of the cultural foundation blocks of the city's musical lineage: that of Chicago's original Acid House sound (c. 1986), of Frankie Knuckles, Phuture, Marshall Jefferson et al, alongside a rigorous experimental sound searching that taps into the cosmic musical lineage of pioneering artist Sun Ra whose Arkestra landed and was based in the city from 1946-61. 
This association with Sun Ra is by no means hypothetical, having just been in the studio with the Arkestra leader Marshall Allen and a host of free jazz players for the album Hieroglyphic Being & JITU Ahn-Sahm-Buhl's 'We Are Not The First.'
Similarly his relationship to Chicago's original acid house pioneers of the late 80s is no hyperbole. Originally mentored by artist/producers Adonis and Steve Pointdexter, Moss also now runs his own Mathematics label which has released music by foundation acid house pioneers Lil' Louis, Adonis and many others. To quote Moss, 'I am the last of the line of producers directly influenced by Ron Hardy (the pioneering acid house DJ) at the Music Box.'
Moss grew up in the south side of Chicago. After being thrown out of the home of his adoptive parents, he then spent three years homeless living on the streets of Chicago, living a nocturnal existence as a gigolo in Chicago's alternative clubs. He began his career as a DJ at the pioneering Liquid Love parties at Chi-town's legendary Power House (home of Ron Hardy's Music Box) around 1989.
What clearly defines Moss's music is that while sometimes pushing the limits of sound to an ear-splitting dimension of experimentation and DIY-electronics, the music is always clearly a progression of the lineage of black music. In the words of fellow Chicagoans, The Art Ensemble of Chicago, it is simply 'Great Black Music.' And yet in this uniquely defined sound, Moss somehow manages to draw into this world elements of industrial music, German electronic music (Cluster, Harmonia etc), Detroit's sci-fi techno artists (Atkins, Saunderson, Craig) and more.
(The second Hieroglyphic Being album on the new label, under his moniker Africans with Mainframes, will be released on Soul Jazz Records' Sounds of the Universe in January 2016.)

Arising from the underground of Neukölln in Berlin, this Polish-Danish duo brings pulsating beats and bass lines together with vintage synthesizers and analog drum machines, as well as self-customized and bended low-bit instruments. 77™ takes a conceptually different approach to each release, which usually is visually supported by experimental videos/animations.

Auden's third EP sees the shadowy producer stride familiar lengths of eclecticism while dipping into fresh sources of inspiration.

The title track yearns for the glory days of UK Rave with its sunrise chords overlaying broken beats and drops of acid. The homage is all but shorn on Alan Fitzpatrick's remix as he contemporises it into a techno bomb with a breakdown to remember. Flexing typical versatility, 'Simmer Down' provides the counterpoint with rolls, bounces and jacks in equal measure while 'Sewer System' rounds off the EP in a blissed-out discordant ambience.

'No Tag No Food' is the third 12-inch from Philadelphia-based artist M//R (Magnetic Resonance) and his first on Details Sound. After releasing 2014's well-received 'Gathering Response Data EP' on Great Circles imprint and a single on Ron Morelli's L.I.E.S., M//R is back with a strong bundle of four tracks, steadily making his mark on the scene of contemporary techno.
This record is a proper electronic weapon, from the slowed down pounding impulse of total burner 'No Tag No Food' to the suspended rhythm of atmospheric 'Idyll' which brings the listener into a gravity-free dimension.

The second release of Rotterdam-based Electronic Emergencies is a 3-track 12" by the mysterious project SOS of unknown origin. Title track Wallonie is a dark and melodic electrotech monster, while Aqua is a broody and even darker affair. On the B side, Wallonie is remixed by Moustache Records' David Vunk and Electronic Emergencies' own Spacemaker in early Rotterdam techno style.

Getting a number one single is an extraordinary achievement. Getting two is a whole other level. Even KLF, who literally wrote the book on how to write a #1 hit (The Manual) only managed to do it once. Duke Dumont's talent was first recognized in 2007 when Tiga signed his Regality EP, and further developed through the mentorship of Switch, but for years he seemed destined to stay under-the-radar, another brilliant artist toiling in relative obscurity, his fantastic remixes working wonders on dance-floors while his name was a footnote to the success of bigger names.

All that started to change in 2012 with For Club Play Only vol I & II on Turbo, with 'Street Walker' getting a swell of underground support and 'The Giver' following up as one of the crossover club hits of the year. So it comes as a welcome surprise to also get this third instalment of For Club Play Only, a return to stripped-down party bombs, with just enough hook to make the tracks unforgettable. This is a brand new sound for him and quite a big move from the functional future bass aesthetics he then designed. This moves in a different way that most of the dance music you hear these days, since it's both oblique and not focussed on the effect it's supposed to generate. Danny Wolfers (most frequently known as Legowelt) is a producer and performer who has worn many hats, all of them styled with finesse. His range is immense but never disparate; through releases for Clone, L.I.E.S., Creme Organization and Peoples Potential Unlimited (among others) Legowelt has spanned everything from frosty techno, sprawling boogie and melodic acid house to chugging electro without sacrificing bonafide quality or pandering to the fad du jour. In his newest effort, a debut EP for Fotomachine's Technicolour imprint entitled Anaconda Flow, listeners are treated to that dynamism in its very finest form. Uplifting, dreamy synth sequences are incorporated alongside his instantly recognizable gritty floor-fillers for a four-piece package that will both delight the home listener and devastate the dance. His long-demonstrated devotion to hardware is utilized here to extraordinary effect: blips bubble to a murky surface, twinkles cascade from above and a kick drum pulses straight through everything it touches—all in all a darkly immersive little jewel, though who would have expected any less

Marco Shuttle leads a double life. By day, he works as a well-respected fashion designer; at night, he crafts exquisite techno. Through his meticulous approach, he
developed a unique aesthetic that appeals to music cognoscenti across the globe. In the past year, he's appeared at many prestigious festivals and clubs, including Labyrinth in Japan, Fabric in London, and Berghain in Berlin.

We discovered Marco's music the old fashioned way in 2012, when we picked up his Clone Store Only Series record at Halcyon in Brooklyn. Since then, he released a
series of 12's on his own Eerie imprint that turned our heads completely inside out.

Last year, we invited Marco to play his first stateside gigs here at The Bunker and Chicago's Smart Bar. He played us two unreleased tracks that we instantly knew
would fit on our record label. Even though it would be eight months before our first 12' was released, Marco had faith in our ability to make the label happen and the
patience to wait for this amazing music to be released as The Bunker New York 006.

Since its inception 12 years ago, Silicone Soul's Darkroom Dubs label has been a consistent and reliable source of heady, shoe-gazing club material. Previous releases over this expansive period have included original productions from the likes of Dubspeeka, Dimitri Veimar and Extrawelt as well as remixes from Robag Wruhme, Chicken Lips and Paul Woolford amongst many others.


Now, after a slew of acclaimed 12" EPs and a string of CD compilations and albums, Darkroom Dubs prepare to cut their first LP to wax, which comes from Portuguese newcomer Pedro Aguiar. Brimful of spectral intensity, Aguiar's 'Landscapes and Heartbreaks' is an uninhibited package of field recordings and otherworldly tones that stay close to the aesthetic Darkroom Dubs fans hold dear and also inaugurate the label's landmark step into the world of Long Play records.

Just as the title suggests, the LP sonically explores the topography of an often- mournful setting and kicks off with the deeply cinematic 'Western Digital' before the cold, mechanical character of 'The Ceremony' layers bit-crushed textures with metallic, atonal drones. Hypnagogia then sets a rich and busy groove stuttering inside a cloudy cavern before 'Black Palm' spreads rich, undulating sweeps over sheets of liquid and delayed percussive knocks that are gently propelled by a low- passed thud.

The lucent, minor key tones of 'Redemption' are then spread out before the ticking percussion of 'Sacred Ritual' patiently ferries the listener toward solace. 'Helios' then recalls the work of Keith Kenniff as rubbery, synthetic pops are contrasted against a soft melodic sheet before 'Fadio Vadio' rolls out a steady, chugging drum pattern and coarse, granular sweeps. 'Orizaba' and 'Lost In You' then inject some swooning synth tones, which work to round off a cohesive anthology of emotions that mark the first step for an extremely auspicious talent.

A Double Dutch mixture of Industrial and Detroit techno, lacing Acid House with some of the liveliest oppositional ideas of the time, about art, nature and politics. From the same neck of the enchanted forest as Psychic TV and Coil... but this album is kicking dance music. Originally released on cassette in 1989. Reissued in silk-screened sleeves, with notes by Reinoud. Great, bracing stuff. 'We are very interested in the methods of 'those primitive peoples' who used dance throughout the ages, as a celebration of life or a way to communicate with spirits. To be spiritual is a strange word now but you can break the structures of conditioning with that physical experience. That's the side we're interested in.'

An unswervingly honest, highly personal album - Blue Daisy distills
his personal experiences in to this cinematic meditation on the clash between the forces of dark and light, good and evil.

Blue Daisy is vocalist, musician and producer Kwesi Darko. His debut single was awarded Pitchfork's coveted 'Best New Track' status, and album, The Sunday Gift, was warmly received and heralded as Electronic Album of The Year by
MOJO magazine. In 2013 he rebooted and embarked on a new
chapter by unleashing the defiantly NSFW track Fuck A Rap Song - The Guardian's Single Of The Week - opening for Public Enemy, featuring and producing on Tricky's album and starting what would eventually become Darker Than Blue.

Kowton makes an emphatic return to Livity Sound this Autumn with his first solo 12' for the label since 2012.
A foundation block of the label, Kowton has also released on Hessle Audio, All Caps and Idle Hands and most recently scored a hit with his ubiquitous "Glock & Roll" on Young Turks offshoot Whities. His music's been remixed by Karenn, Kassem Mosse and Surgeon and in turn he's remixed work by Paul Woolford, Tessela and Untold.Now a regular some of the finest clubs around, Kowton has played across Europe both live with Livity Sound (alongside Peverelist and Asusu) and as a solo DJ. In the past 12 months he's toured Japan, America, Australia and is set for repeat visits this autumn.This new Livity Sound 12" see's Kowton in a typically reductive mode: 'On Repeat' layers pulsing subs with weighty percussion and enveloping synths; 'Holding Patterns' flips things into a streamlined modulating techno workout of abrasive drums and rotating rim shots.

Following the recent 'Part 6' & 'Part 7' releases comes the next and, for now, final chapter taking the series (that originated on the now defunct Phono label circa 1995) up to 'Part 8'. This time the structure is changed somewhat by opening with the wonky synth-led track 'The Wrong Place', the familiar sound of Rahel's vocals chopped up and distorted into an entirely different entity. Track 2 makes an immediate departure from anything else from the series so far with the melancholy 'Remembering Ken' featuring the lush vocals of adeomotayo. ade appears on the new Kindness record and was a backing singer for amywinehouse.

Side B of the vinyl opens with 'Ticket' a true Herbert techno workout with more than an element of his Wishmountain moniker appearing. The EP closes with the beautiful 'Her Face', cascading melodies melting over a throbbing 4/4 rhythm.

'Part 8' ends the current run of EPs but lays the foundation for a new Herbert album with all new material to be released in early 2015...

Sonic EP is the second contribution of Sawf to the Modal Analysis catalogue.The Greek producer, and core member of the Modal Analysis roster, delivers a mind-blowing 4-tracker with a clear intention to interpret an industrial-noise aesthetic from a techno perspective. Sonic#1 is a cut from the intro of Sawf's LIVE set, offering a powerful combo of processed vocals and distorted soundscapes. Sonic#2 comes as a long and stepping beast that creates the uncomfortable feeling of a horror movie soundtrack. Young, beautiful and talented... that's the attitude that Strip Steve's debut album MICRO MEGA is made of. Following the release of the Visonia collaboration with the mighty Dopplereffekt that delivered 'Die Reisen' on vinyl and digital formats earlier this year, Visonia returns with the anticipated debut album release entitled, 'Impossible Romance'. Commencing with 'Juana de Arco', which edges finely the fragile border between expectant angst and hopeful optimism, this opening piece pretty much sets the tone for the album. C L N K is Silviu Badea of Bucharest, Romania. The elusive producer debuted in 2014 with the full-length 'Black Ecstasy', soon followed by a 5-track EP, 'Anti'. Press feedback included The FADER, XLR8R, Dummy, Line of Best Fit, Big Up, and more. Both these records feature erratic and brittle bat-cave techno. For his latest work, C L N K sticks with the nihilistic undertone but revives influences from downtempo, footwork, and ambient.

Following a string of excellent releases for the likes of Rush Hour and Delsin, the Berlin-based British producer has launched his own imprint. Its inaugural release promises to simultaneously satisfy long-time listeners, and throw them for a loop. BRACK001 sees BNJMN venturing outside his digital domain for the first time, eschewing polished, computer-based constructions for an altogether dirtier, darker sound.

Manni Dee's - Shifting EP comprises of 3 tracks of uncompromising dancefloor music. Focussing on the 130bpm area frequented by many of the alumni of dubstep's fallout, its raw production values and emphasis on percussion forge something original yet functional.

LA.-based producer/composer/DJ Matt Lange delivers a darkly melodic breed of electronic music rooted in raw energy and emotion. Hand-selected by deadmau5 as one of the latest signings to his label mau5trap, the lifelong musician now makes his full-length debut with the groove-heavy, intricately textured Ephemera. As his first album release for mau5trap, Ephemera's title reflects the restless innovation inherent in Lange's musicianship. 'The album's really a snapshot of where I am right now as an artist,' Lange explains. 'It's this turning point where I have one foot in the world of dance music, and the other foot in a whole different direction.'

With Mixmag pointing out that Lange possesses 'more musical predilection in his pinky than most producers' entire catalog,' Ephemera reveals both the creative adventurousness and exquisite precision at the core of Lange's sound. 'My music is always very handmade,' says Lange, noting that most of Ephemera's tracks started out on guitar, piano, or modular synthesizer. 'I don't ever use any outside material. Creating it all on my own lets me have a much more personal connection to everything I do.' And though the album's offerings veer from the eerily charged yet infectious atmospherics of club tracks like 'My Love Aside' to the downtempo intimacy of vocal-driven numbers like 'Lying to Myself,' all of Ephemera is infused with a moody intensity that proves the depth of that connection. 'I'm not very good at writing bright, happy music,' says Lange. 'I need there to be an underlying sense of melancholy in order to really get pulled into the song.'

Growing up in Manhattan, Lange started playing piano at age four and sung in a boy's choir from ages six to 13, then picked up the guitar and quickly joined a hardcore/metal band. 'I got into the production side of things when I was 15, mostly because I wanted to make my own demos for the band, and that completely changed my relationship with music,' says Lange. After majoring in music production at Boston's Berklee College of Music—and shaping his sound with inspiration from groups like Hybrid and Telefon Tel Aviv—Lange was enlisted by BT to co-produce his critically acclaimed, Grammy Award-nominated album These Hopeful Machines. Lange next struck out on his own, turning out releases like 2014's Staccato EP (a #2 Progressive House Release on Beatport), creating official remixes for tracks as eclectic as The M Machine's 'Shadow in the Rose Garden' (OWSLA) and Usher's 'Numb' (RCA), and serving as producer on Glenn Morrison's 'Goodbye' (a 2013 release that went platinum in Canada and sold more than 500,000 copies worldwide). Along with playing festivals like EDC Las Vegas and TomorrowWorld and earning praise as 2014's #1 DJ to watch by VIBE, he eventually caught the attention of deadmau5, who included his 'Scorched Earth Policy' on the We Are Friends: Volume 3 compilation (released in February 2015) and 'Nice Shades, Wesley' on We Are Friends: Volume 4 (June 2015).

Despite exploring so many genres and directions through the years, certain principles have remained constant for Lange. 'As I got older, I found the tracks that worked out best were the ones I made without regard to what other people would think of them,' he says. 'People can always tell when music's coming from a place that's true to you, so I learned that the key is to be totally honest and just do what I love and what interests me most.' That honesty is also closely tied to his creative process and musical sensibilities. 'To me electronic music is mainly a medium that gives you the freedom and ability to use anything you want to,' he says. He is the epitomy of the slash and burn blitzkrieg attitude of new producers popping up under the JMZ everyday. While very interesting to see the scene develop this way, few have executed in such a fashion as Pvre Matrix has. Impeccabily produced without losing its sense of urgency or brutality and clocking in at breakneck speed, Pvre Matrix is out for blood, and his three track debuts prove as such. While you might not catch Danny Moore in your local big room anytime soon, he is undeniably a force that is present and will crush you regardless.

'AWOL' has been a track the band have played live since 2012 but as the album writing and recording process developed the band decided to hold AWOL back . Now, after reworking it into a new unheard version they feel it's time to make it available on record........ and limited cassette!

The Prodigy recently headlined Isle of Wight Festival, they Headline the Radio 1 stage at T In The Park in July and recently announced a huge tour of UK arenas arenas to close their incredible 2015 which includes two shows at London's Wembley Arena.

London scene stalwart Erol Alkan is lined up to mix the next Fabriclive mix CD.

Due for release on September 22, Fabriclive 77 features plenty of cuts from Alkan's own label plus an exclusive airing of his track 'Sub Conscious' and a brand new one from Cowboy Rhythmbox, AKA Nathan Gregory Wilkins and Richard X.

Planet A sector is covered by an already legend among electronic music producers, the man Fred P from NYC. His reshape of 'Change the Past' takes us to a nebulous journey filled with a multitude of sonic details and surrounded by some dreamy astral pads. Less dark than the original version, this slow jam keep an infectious rhythm steady all along and would be perfect for a rooftop session when the sun hit the sky.

The Planet B sector is occupied by an italian prodigy, the not-so new comer Chevel. Playing with the cryptic 'Change the Past' vocals, his mix turn the track into a minimal boogie affair toned down by subtle key chords and interstellar bleeps pulsating around heavy toms drums. The next exoplanet being at billions light years away, enjoy these two supernovas while waiting during the trip..."
